When single mother, Annie Malone, purchases a quirky Main Street café on Heron Island, she thinks she’s finally turned her dream of opening her own restaurant into a reality. Hearing rumors that a developer is about to build a five-star resort on the sleepy Chesapeake Bay island, she plans to transform the café into a premier upscale bistro. But Navy SEAL, Will Dozier, has no intention of selling … selling his grandparents’ property to a developer. Back on Heron Island for the first time in ten years and secretly struggling with PTSD, Will decides that a fling with the new girl is the perfect way to help him “get his head straight.” The last thing Will expects is to fall in love… with his hometown and with Annie. But Will’s life and career are in San Diego with the SEALs. Can Annie’s love and the healing magic of the island be enough to convince him to stay?

It’s hard to write a review without giving the main part of the story away. But about the character Taylor, it was very thought provoking for me….what these very young children go through in these tragic situations. It was well written by someone who obviously has never gone through it. I enjoyed the book and would recommend it as a summer read.
An enjoyable little book. This is a good late night read. She is pretty close on her view of the military (with a lot of license taken), and I’ll trust her on the realism of her watermen.
Loved this book! The small town community that protects and helps our wounded soldiers & a young child that survived a school shooting. Touched my heart in ways like never before. I know I will be more aware and helpful of those in my own community that are recovering personal tragedy.
Really enjoyed Wind Chimes Cafe (#1), Wind chimes Wedding (#2) and Wind Chimes Summer #3) and looking forward to Wind Chimes Cottage (#4), but will read the three in the Selfie Trilogy first. Great author!
This is a positive reminder of how soldiers and children respond the same with PTSD . A touching story of how two people in two very different circumstances are healed wih the power of community. Loved it and you will, too. Just because you don’t see the scars doesn’t mean they aren’t there. Powerful.
I liked the story. Very different.
This series was very poignant for our nMilitary families
Great book.
While the characters are learning to live with tragedy, there is lightness and joy in this story and the setting is wonderful.
Very pleasant read with likeable characters.
A fun light read that keeps you wanting to turn those pages.
Really enjoyed this book. Recommend it to everyone.
Hard to get into this book, I tried twice and never could bring myself to finish it.
This is a nice story. Can’t wait for the rest of the series.
Easy to read, a little predictable, I enjoyed it because it had nice characters.
Lovely, well-written story. Filled with many social issues – alcoholic, unstable mother, single woman raising her daughter alone after being used and abused by a handsome, rich scoundrel, wounded wariors struggling with PTSD and rehabilitation, traumatized child fighting to regain her balance, small town struggling to retain its identity while creating enough jobs for its inhabitants to prosper, etc. I am sure I left something out.
Very good read. Helps us to understand stand what others are going through. Read at the very sad time of another school shooting.
Excellent vacation read!
a light, entertaining read.
Great and easy to read. Had to keep reading. Finished in three days
