The first book in the paranormal romantic suspense series Psychic Crossroads is a thrillingly complicated and fascinating story that holds readers captive until every last world of the story has been told. Grace and David are strong, compelling characters that readers want to get to know as Grace is hunted by a ruthless enemy. The romance of the story is completely mixed in with all of the suspense so it happens at odd times and in a bit of an unconventional way at first but there is no denying the sizzling chemistry and magnetic attraction that burns between Grace and the sexy stranger that appears out of thin air. This story has lots of emotional turmoil that stems from Grace’s loss of memory and the strange situations that has her questioning her sanity which really has readers empathizing with her and wanting to know what happened to her.
This story is set a steady to fast pace and is one of sacrifice, secrets, betrayals, discoveries and several dangerous adversaries and one maniacal foe that is invisible. The suspense and excitement build throughout the story keeping readers on the edge of their seat while Grace searches for the truth while trying to stay alive and out of the hands of the bad guys. The author has created a wonderfully thrilling and suspenseful story that kept me glued to the pages and wanting more.
The first book of a trilogy draws you in, keeps you rooting for the good guys. The audio was a wonderful listen.
This is the first book in The Psychic Crossroads Series, a Paranormal Romance. The story is well written and captivating. The storyline is fast paced, and action packed., filled with mystery, lies, secrets, twists and turns, and romance. There is a lot going on in this installment. The world building is gripping, intricate, and entertaining. The characters are well developed and interesting. Grace is a fantastic character, strong, and determined. The supporting characters are amazing! I liked David and Sean. Samantha Cook did an amazing job as Grace, and she did the reading with a perfect and entertaining pace! The story is told for the most part from Grace’s POV, so Jason Clarke did only a small part of this narration, but his presence is undeniably appreciated. He is perfect as David. I love their voices together. The audio production is perfect, and very pleasant to listen to. This is a great team author/narrators. This story definitely kept my attention, and I am looking forward to listening to Intuition, the next book in the Series. If you like Paranormal Romance with characters gifted with special abilities, this Series is for you. I highly recommend it.
***Audiobook Review***
Honestly, it took me a few chapters to connect to the story but as soon as I did my interest peaked to the point that I was transfixed until the end. Especially the last quarter of this book really held me in suspense with thrill and excitement.
It is a fascinating paranormal world Anna Durand has created here. Her writing is vivid with great descriptions of people, their acts, the areas, and surroundings which made it easy to visualise this story. Willpower has an intriguing storyline and strong interesting characters which take you on a thrilling suspenseful mysterious ride with action, little heat, and a touch of romance. The romance is not as prominent in this story, but the suspense and the captivating plot makes up for it.
Grace has strange things happening to her, she does not understand any of it. She cannot recall the last 8 months and is plagued by terrible migraines and dreams. Grace has so many questions, what happened to her, why does she seem to have “powers”, why are people watching, chasing and want to capture her? She needs to find a way to get her last 8 months back. She finds out strange things about herself and the people around her. There are also people who want to help her, one in particular, David, who keeps appearing out of nowhere. He seems a stranger to her but is yet so familiar. David, currently in a less than preferable situation himself uses his powers to try to help Grace remember and get answers but the powerful enemy is trying to come between them and break their telepathic connection, it seems evil lurks everywhere.
The story was wrapped up, no cliffhangers but there are different arcs that can be explored which I hope will continue in Intuition, the #2 book of this series.
Samantha Cook is another new to me narrator. She leads the narration and she is incredible, as is Jason Clarke, whose role in Willpower is a bit smaller (hopefully more of him in Intuition) but still, both are fantastic telling this story, wrapping the listener up in all these different emotions and giving each character a distinctively different tone.
Willpower
Series Psychic Crossroads #1
by Anna Durand
Narrated by Samantha Cook, Jason Clarke
Psychic stories? Sign me up. This is a paranormal sub-genre that I enjoy and couldn’t wait to get my earbuds in to hear! This fast paced story takes us on a journey of suspense and mystery with a bit of romance thrown in. Grace wakes up and realizes she has no recollection of her last eight months. Hunted by an enemy she cannot remember, she takes hold of David, the only one she feels she can trust. David is special to her, and he has done everything he can to keep her safe, but will she ever remember him? And will she unlock the psychic abilities she have if she does remember? Thrilling excitement builds as the story moves on and what we learn is scary! Grace is amazingly strong, and I love that she is forceful in her need to know her past. David, once we know his intentions is the one we all want to have in our lives. Their is definite chemistry between the two. And Sean is a fantastic character! Love his banter. Add in the lies, deception, surprises and just incredible abilities and I was hooked. I can’t wait to see where Anna Durand takes us next in this story.
Narration for this was key, and told mostly in Grace’s point of view, the choice of Samantha Cook was fantastic. She is a favorite of mine, and she understands her characters and gives them to us as if we are watching them. Jason Clarke gives a few appearances as David, and he keys into the emotions and strength that Grace needs with his amazing voice. He too is extremely versatile, and I love how he includes the perfect nuances to make David real. This is casting at it’s best.

An Intriguing & Thrilling Ride! Terrific Story & Narration
Willpower
Psychic Crossroads, Book 1
By: Anna Durand
Narrated by: Samantha Cook, Jason Clarke
I thoroughly enjoyed this fascinating first book of Anna Durand’s “Psychic Crossroads” series. I loved the originality of this story, it drew me in right from the start and captivated my attention the entire book. Anna Durand is a gifted author with a wonderful writing style, she created imaginative characters and storylines and managed to keep them realistic, easy to relate to and connect with. The characters are complex and nicely developed along the way, same with the world building and its dynamics. It was easy to fall for the lead characters, Grace Powell and David Ransom once I got to know him. The descriptive details are amazing, they take you right along side the characters to experience everything they were experiencing, it was like you were inside their head. I was rooting for Grace the entire time and then David too. Without giving too much away, I loved their unique connection, who he turned out to be and why he was looking out for her. Grace had no clue why someone was after her, several someones, could it be something from her past. It had been a traumatic year for her she lost her parents, her grandfather and also suffered from amnesia. She finds herself trying to find out what was going on while running for her life. She runs in to some bad people but also gained an ally. Then she finds herself in a world of madness, her grandfather and parent’s research was taken over by a madman, one that needs to be stopped and the one who is after her. This is an intriguing paranormal romantic suspense, the action packed story is cleverly plotted with plenty of drama, angst, mystery, twists and turns, thrilling suspense and slow burn romance. It was great to watch the story unfold, see the pieces of the puzzle fall into place as Grace come in to her own, learns who she is and her capabilities. Anna Durand, thank you for this great story, I am looking forward to what happens next in Grace and David’s story, also want more of Sean, one of the secondary characters and a key player in the series.
And for the fabulous narration, Samantha Cook and Jason Clarke are talented narrators and voice artists. They did an awesome job portraying the characters, humanizing them, giving each their own distinct voice and personality. The majority of the book is told in Grace’s point of view so Samantha Cook is heard the most and she is phenomenal at what she does, she played Grace with perfection, captured everyone of her emotions, as well as her strength and determination. Jason Clarke’s David is just as awesome, I am sure we will hear more of him in the next book. Both had a complete understanding of the roles they played, sounding believable in their roles and just as I pictured them to sound. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for the awesome listen
This review is for the audiobook. Willpower is book 1 of the Psychic Crossroads series and puts you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. Grace is a woman on the edge who is suffering from amnesia, crippling migraines, and the recent loss of several family members. She is struggling to keep going every day and finds herself at the center of a mysterious conspiracy while questioning her sanity. Lots of unexpected twists and turns in this one, so buckle up. Seeing is not believing and no one is really safe. David is driven to protect Grace from her past and from the people hunting her. He comes into her life in very unexpected ways. Even though everything is unraveling Grace feels an inexplicable connection to David and a feeling that she should trust him. Their romantic connection is interwoven with all of the action and mystery of the story. They swirl around each other while trying to protect, survive, and uncover the mystery. Love on the run with a twist!
Samantha Cook and Jason Clark are both excellent narrators who really bring these characters and this story to life! Jason does have a smaller part in this book, but they both bring all of the raw emotional energy that really pulled me in to invest in the characters and the story. I received an #AdvancedListenerCopy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I’m really looking forward to the next book in this exciting and mysterious series!
This is a book that starts off kind of abstract but then is molded into a wonderfully entertaining story. At first I was confused on what was happening to this poor woman. Then we are slowly given answers that are mind altering to say the least. I really thought this woman was going out of her head! The rest of the story is filled with action, suspense and drama. I loved how closely I had to listen to make sure I didn’t miss anything. The characters enthralled me and made me wish more than once if this was a possible scenario.
I did listen to this on audio. Samantha Cook reads most of the story and does very well. Jason Clarke does a wonderful job on his portions too.
She awakes without any memories of the last eight months. What happened? Can she find out? How she has an enemy who is after her but at least a stranger is there to help her. Will she recover her memories? See how she gets on

I absolutely loved this book and was honored to have been able to read and review. It was such a phenomenal read and had amazing characters as well as an amazing story line. I just couldn’t get enough of it and once I started reading it I couldn’t put it down. I recommend that you read it.

Okay, where to start? Overall I liked the story but it needs some work. I had a really hard time getting started. If I hadn’t agreed to review it, I would have quit after slugging through the first several chapters. I’m glad I stuck with it because there were some explanations further on in the book. I also think this could really benefit from some editing. I didn’t love Grace. I think I would have enjoyed the story more if she’d been a little more smart/savvy. She improved a bit as the story went on but a little backbone would do her a world of good. Stop whimpering and FIX it. All that being said, I’ll plan to read the next one since this spent a lot of time doing the series setup and now that I’ve got that behind me, hopefully the next one will be faster.
I wish the story had lived up to its potential. (I voluntarily reviewed an ARC).
Willpower by Anna Durand is an absolutely a wonderful story that I read. This is book number one in this wonderful start to a brand new series. All I can say is WOW when I read this story it grabed me from the begining of the story and kept me intersted all the way threw. I highly recommend this story to everyone who wants a WOW.

This is a good story but it needs to be changed a little bit. It has a good storyline but some things left me wanting to know more, there was a lot of questions that needed to be answered throughout. It was like the story had been rushed. I will read the next book and see if it is better than this one. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Grace has lost her family and seven or eight months of her life are a complete blank to her. She is working to make ends meet when she is thrown into a crazy, inexplicible situation where she finds herself feeling like she’s going crazy. Who is the strange man who appears as if from thin air to help her? And why does she trust him? These mysteries drew me in and kept me reading. There is a touch of romance in the story between Grace and David, this mystery man, but mostly the book is about what the heck has been going on. What happened to her parents and grandfather? Why can’;t she remember? How are these strange things happening? Who are the people attacking her? I loved the mystery!! It has that mysterious feel that X-Files did. Plus it’s right in that vein of topic. I loved it. Now I need to read more!!

This book had my attention right from the first page, there was lots of intrigue and suspense. Grace is suffering from amnesia and with the help of David she learns what had happened over the past eight months. I loved learning things along with her thought out the story. I enjoyed the psychic element, it was different from other books I read or listened too. Anna kept me on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t put it down. Samantha Cooke and Jason Clarke’s narration was excellent and it is mostly told through Grace’s point of view in this book. Definitely would recommend.
