The future of magic is doomed, and only Willow and her dragon can save it… Dragon Heart program completely. All Willow wants to do is learn new magic spells and train with her dragon, but instead she finds herself struggling to figure out how to save the Dragon Hearts. With her father still missing, she needs the Dragon Hearts more than ever if she wants a realistic chance of saving him.
Luckily, it doesn’t take her long to find proof that Stein Viker, the villain trying to steal magic for his own evil purposes, was behind the attack on the President. The only problem? No one believes that it’s possible for a non-wizard like Stein to steal magic. Willow is in a race against time to stop Stein and convince the Dragon Heart Agency to believe her. She’ll need the help of her fellow students and their dragons, but convincing them to come along for an unauthorized mission isn’t so easy. The consequences for failure could be fatal, but little details like that have never stopped Willow before…

Willow Ember has been excitedly looking forward to her second year at the Dragon Heart Academy of Magic, but all that is brushed aside when the President of the United States is assassinated! In the middle of the busy airport terminal, she heard the broadcast. She heard pounding feet of a large group of men dressed in black coming toward her as they cast a spell to restrain her magical abilities. This was a group of Dragon Heart Agents, the most elite—and most secret—division of the C.I.A., master wizards. They restrained her with no explanation, adding to the panic of the people around them. Their purpose now is to protect the Dragon Heart Agent trainees, and they hurried her away.
Taken to the rooftop of the airport, Willow felt immediate relief at seeing seven large dragons waiting there. A huge red dragon came bounding toward her as she threw her arms around Cayenne’s neck. But the reunion was short as one of the agents informed her that she is also in great danger. The further they flew from the airport, the more they relaxed until one of the men shouted out and pointed. Coming toward them in jet-packs and metal wings, the Dark Sparks were attacking! This wasn’t the first time she had faced them. Just as the Agents and dragons got the upper hand, another group of attackers came at them led by Stein Viker, the leader of the Dark Sparks. He had attacked the White House the previous year. Willow knew he was responsible for killing the President. He also was suspected of holding her father, who had been missing for 2-1/2 years now, in captivity. He held a strange weapon which made each dragon he fired on scream in pain and crash toward the ground! Stein’s extra-strong armor seemed to be protecting him completely. The dragons were tiring from dodging the weapon he was using against them. Unwilling to let him win and perhaps kidnap her as well, Willow tried the most advanced spell a first-year could be taught. It was a very difficult spell to master, and it failed on her first attempt. But her second try caused most of the Sparks to hurtle to the ground, while the rest of them raced away from her. Stein was furious and demanded they come back, but no one was listening, so Stein had no choice but to turn and follow his cowardly group. The Dragon Heart Agents were in awe of what she just did! Stein, on the other hand, had seen her and knew she was responsible for his failure – he would NOT forget!
The new President is now threatening to shut down the Dragon Heart program completely. It is up to Willow to find a way to prove the value of magic while her own abilities seem to be slowing up. When the Academy is attacked, failure could be catastrophic! Can she bring forth the full strength of her magic? Can the Academy fend of the attack?
This is a very exciting book with wizards and dragons to keep the action racing along and the reader fully engaged! You won’t want to miss the excitement as a 15-year-old girl calls forth her magic from deep inside to protect those she cares for. This one is a keeper! Don’t miss it!
