Fans of Sandra Brown and Lisa Gardner will devour this riveting new suspense thriller from New York Times bestselling author Lisa Jackson! Make sure it’s part of your summer beach reading!WHEN A KILLER HAS NOTHING TO LOSE The crime scene is as puzzling as it is brutal. Doctor Paul Latham and his wife, Brindel, are found dead in separate beds in their beautiful San Francisco home, each the victim … beds in their beautiful San Francisco home, each the victim of a gunshot wound to the head. There are no signs of forced entry, and despite the emptied safe it’s clear this murder isn’t random.
THERE’S EVERY REASON
For Detective Regan Pescoli, news of her sister’s death brings grief mixed with guilt. She and Brindel weren’t close, and Pescoli barely knows her teenage niece, Ivy, a secretive girl who lands on her doorstep in Grizzly Falls, Montana. Though Pescoli is on maternity leave, she’s soon mired deep in the investigation headed by her partner, Selena Alvarez. But as the list of suspects keeps growing, so does the body count . . .
TO BE AFRAID . . .
Maybe it’s exhaustion or hormones that have Pescoli on edge, feeling more vulnerable than ever before. Or maybe the chill running through her veins is justified. Because as the case takes a new, terrifying turn, Pescoli’s loved ones and her life are at the mercy of a killer who’ll go to any lengths to see her suffer . . .

So good I love her books..
I’m a fan of Lisa Jackson books and this one did not disappoint. When her sister and husband are found murdered in their home, Detective Regan Pescoli must fly to San Francisco and find out what happened- not only to her sister but to her teenage niece who is missing. She returns to her home in Montana with few clues, but soon her niece shows up on her doorstep and the case is suddenly putting her family at risk as more dead bodies are found and they are left with more questions than answers. Pescoli, who is on maternity leave, must rely on help from her police partner Selena Alvarez to help find the killer. A page-turner!
This is the last book in the Alvarez/Pescoli series (unless there are more coming) and it was just as good as the others. Not necessary to read them in order but I did and loved the ability to pick up almost where the other ones left off.
This book centers mostly around Detective Regan Pescoli. While she’s on maternity leave, one of her sisters and brother-in-law are murdered in their home. Her daughter who also lives at the house is missing. Regan goes out to see the family and see if she can help but doesn’t get very far with local authorities so she returns home.
Once at home, she can’t seem to shake this feeling that she’s being watched and something bad is going to happen.
Another Lisa Jackson book that does not disappoint her fans.
You never go wrong with this author. Another great read. I highly recommend.
Enjoyed reading it. I have read along of her books
Love the Montana setting and.the characters and their flaws.
I read all of her books, because they are all good and hold your interest.
The price is supposed to be $1.99 for the book I wanted to buy but that isn’t the price at any of the book seller options.
These two authors always give you a gripping story
Great mystery thriller great right up to the end.
Overall, a good read with an interesting storyline.
Love this police drama. Jackson an excellent story teller.
I could read stories written like this all the time. Wow what a great series by this author!!!! Being an obsessive reader, I wish the author could write faster! Love. This author’s work.
I love this series with Detective Pescolli. Another great book in the series.
Good thriller. Solution not quite well enough foreshadowed or explained.
Has Lisa Jackson ever written a book that didn’t grab you on page 1 and keep you turning pages til the last one? This is no exception
Couldn’t put it down. The mystery unveiled in time and was revealed at last in the surprise ending.
I always love Lisa Jackson’s books and this was no exception. You’ll love it.
Lisa Jackson’s Alvarez/Pescoli novels are very entertaining. I enjoyed this one where Pescoli was made the up front story. Alvarez was there, but kinda on the peripheral until the last few chapters. The mystery was spread from California to Pescoli’s hometown and in between. The storyline of who “dunnit” kept my interest throughout, even after I figured who pulled the trigger I still I didn’t know why and how it would end with all the characters being woven into the story. Great writing and good reading. Looking forward to the next installment of these two. Also am glad to read that there will be another Bentz/Montoya book coming!! YaY.
