Trouble at Hungry Horse, Book 4: Minnie Crockwell, recreational vehicle enthusiast and traveler, no sooner leaves Glacier National Park than she encounters some trouble with her RV and tow car, necessitating an unexpected layover at a campground in the nearby small town of Hungry Horse, Montana. Within an hour of checking in, however, a gunshot rings out, and Minnie finds herself on her hands and knees hiding under a park bench. But the shot wasn’t meant for her. In fact, no one can even find the shooter or a gun. Minnie just wants to get her RV fixed and get on the road, but she soon finds herself immersed in the repercussions of a decades-old tragedy.
Trouble at Snake and Clearwater, Book 5: Minnie Crockwell, recreational vehicle enthusiast and traveler, receives a call from her niece, Tiffany, who has recently moved from Arizona to Washington to be with her boyfriend. Lonely in a new area, Tiffany asks Aunt Minnie to stop by for a visit. Minnie heads south to the small city of Clarkston, Washington, at the confluence of the Snake and Clearwater Rivers. Finding a wonderful RV site with a panoramic view of the Snake River, Minnie settles in for a short, relaxing visit with her niece. The beauty of the scene is marred though, when one fisherman disappears from his boat right before her eyes.
Peregrine Ebenezer (Ben) Alvord, Minnie’s nineteenth-century ghost traveling companion, can do nothing to save the man from drowning. In fact, he can’t even find him. But search and rescue teams do finally locate poor Jim Olson, only to discover that he didn’t die by drowning. Everyone liked Jim Olson, everyone except the person who killed him. Minnie vows to stay out of this murder investigation, but she feels responsible since she was the last person to see him alive. Besides the killer, that is.
Trouble in Florence, Book 6: Minnie Crockwell, recreational vehicle enthusiast and traveler, is heading south to warmer climates by way of Highway 101, also known as the Oregon Coast Highway and Pacific Highway. She stops for a few days in the quaint little seaside town of Florence, Oregon, for a stay at the Tuscan Sands RV Park. Although the park hardly lives up to its evocative name, the sand dunes of the Florence beaches most certainly do. When in Florence… The dangerous and erratic driver of a blue Jeep, the fierce coastal storm that sweeps through overnight, a barking dog that paws at the sand, and the discovery of a body partially submerged beneath a log on the beach all conspire to take the relax out of relaxing. Against her will and Ben’s words of caution, Minnie cannot help but try to solve the mystery of the Trouble in Florence.

This is the second boxed set in the Will Travel for Trouble. This collection includes three short cozy mysteries: Trouble at Hungry Horse, Trouble at Snake and Clearwater, and Trouble in Florence. Minerva (Minnie), and her ghost traveling companion, Peregrie Ebenzer (Ben) Alford are wonderful characters. I like Minnie’s sleuthing. She is smart, and funny. Ben is handsome, careful, and protective. Each story has mystery, and murder. The secondary characters are intriguing. Michelle Babb did an excellent job with the narration. Looking forward to listen to the next boxed set. If you like cozy mysteries, I HIGHLY recommend you this series.
And the traveling with Minnie and Ben continues, with a few more bodies in the mix. I love how Minnie’s curiosity and eavesdropping usually leads to solving the mystery. The companionship that she has with Ben is interesting as well. So hard to gain feelings for someone you can’t even see or touch. I have enjoyed these stories so far and look forward to more in the future.
This review is for the audio book.
I enjoyed this box set. You get three individual stories that follow of from.each other and are great if you want just a short listen or you can listen to them all at once like one longer story. Either way you are in for a treat because they are all good fun. The only continuous is the main character, her ghostly companion and the fact that each murder takes place in a campground, so with different locations and people or suspect’s you never get time to get board.
Trouble in hungry horse book one (book four in the series) -5 stars.
Minnie RV breaks down causing her and her ghostly companion Ben to make an unscheduled stop while it is fixed. She is not there long before a gun shot is fired and she rushes off to help the victim. But the office is empty and there is no.body. Not unless you count the strangled victim upstairs but Minnie only knows that because she sent Ben. The police don’t release the cause of death and Minnie struggles to question the murdered ladies family without giving the game way that she knows more than she is supposed to. The lady had only just come back to town but it seem there were a lot of people that wished she hadn’t.bothered, if she hadn’t maybe she would still be alive. Minnie can’t leave the campground until the RV is fixed but does she really want to get involved in a families troubled past?
Trouble at snake and clear waters book three (book five In series) -5 stars
Minnie is making a slight detour to visit her niece who has just moved in with her boyfriend and away from home for the first time. Minnie finds the ideal campground with a lovely view of the lake. Well it was lovely until she witnesses a man fall out of his boat while fishing. She calls the police but by the time they arrive he is gone. It gets worse for Minnie when she learns her niece new boyfriend’s mother owns the campground and seems to be able to bewitch everyman she come into contact with. Worried about her niece Minnie sticks around in order to get to the bottom of what looked like a tragic accident but In fact was another under. Her niece’s boyfriends family can’t possible have anything to do with it, can they?
Trouble in Florance book three (book six in the series)- 4 stars
Chasing after the warmer weather Minnie and Ben head to a campground near the beach to relax. Before arriving they are nearly in an accident with a fast car in a hurry to get somewhere. That somewhere turns out to be on the site right next Minnie’s RV spot for the night. Things are not off to a good start when the owner proves himself to be rude. Minnie wants to give him a piece of her mind when she sees the same car driving recklessly in the beach car park but the car is empty by the time she nears it. The next day a dog walker finds the body of a woman washed up on the beach. The woman turns out to be the ex wife of the man in the next RV. Minnie finds herself caught up in the family drama when the man’s two son turn up. With yet something else going wrong on the RV, Minnie has to stay longer than she planned and every time she sets out her door she finds herself in more trouble.
I like the narrator she does a good job bringing the characters to life and making the drama unfold right in front of your eyes
