I really enjoyed this addition to the Madison River Romance series! I loved Ryann when we first got to meet her in the last book. I’m happy that she gets her happily ever after. I liked that the author wasn’t afraid to tackle difficult subjects in this book. It made it feel more real and relatable. I can’t wait to read more from this author!
I was given a complimentary copy of this ebook from the author, but was not required to write a review. The thoughts and comments are my own.
So many deep topics are touched upon in this second novel in the Madison River Romance series. Suicide, infidelity, sexual assault. But along with those topics were the joys of finding new love, the strength of positive relationships, and the steadfastness of God’s presence. Janine Rosche sets a beautiful Montana backdrop to this contemporary Christian romance that will be sure to keep readers turning the pages.
A formerly iconic pastor and a no-nonsense widow, both hiding secrets from their past, square off in a book that offers us relatable characters in need of God’s grace and redemption and freedom. Don’t we all? I love books with an authenticity to the characters, and Rosche delivers once again on that trait, offering unique (but gentle) insight into sexual assault and suicide—real topics that we shouldn’t shy away from in Christian Fiction. I recommend reading this as a stand-alone or starting with book one of The Madison River Romance series.
*I received an ARC for this book. All opinions are my own.*
With a setting in Montana near Yellowstone National Park, Wildflower Road caught my attention quickly, since that is one of my favorite areas to visit. Author Janine Rosche has perfectly captured the exquisite beauty of the locale with her colorful descriptions. They immediately transported me there to savor the sights, sounds, and smells while enjoying her beautifully written, absorbing story of redemption and healing.
The carefully crafted, realistic, multi-layered characters are very relatable with their various flaws and life problems, and Rosche is not afraid to sensitively tackle some tough subjects. The main characters are easy to love. Ryann is friendly, non-judgmental, and fun, despite her tragic past, and Shane is bravely trying to start over after some devastating events. I adored the witty, engaging banter between them as they try to figure out their futures. A stellar cast of supporting characters deepens and enhances the story. Themes of redemption, grace, courage, and healing are seamlessly woven into the tale and add depth and dimension to it.
Although this is the second book in Rosche’s Madison River Romance series, it can easily be read alone. It was fun to see many of the characters from the first book pop up again in this one. This author has an immense talent for storytelling, and I’m anxiously awaiting the next book in the series.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.
A powerful story of redemption
My rating is 4.5 stars
What a powerful story of redemption!
When Shane’s world fell apart, he thought God had turned His back on him and he, therefore, stopped having anything to do with God. Yet in His patient, loving manner, the Good Shepherd didn’t let His sheep stray too far from the fold before He brought him back in. I loved the way Shane began to see that when we fall, God is there to pick us up and make us stronger as we realize our utter dependence on Him.
The romance between Shane and Ryann was very sweet, especially as each of them had been broken in their past and needed patience and healing. Poor Ryann needed a man who wouldn’t run away when things got tough – as other men in her life had.
There are some serious subject matters dealt with here. Assault, suicide, and alcoholism. Each is handled sensitively with no excessive details given. Readers who need to steer clear of these topics should beware.
In addition, corruption and blackmail also played a part, though I’ll let you discover how. This made for slightly uncomfortable reading – I was squirming at the thought of no place to go, no one to help, and the lives destroyed due to the corruption in authority – how frightening that would be!
If you enjoy your romance with a more serious edge, Wildflower Road is a well-written story that shows the darkness in man – to emphasize the light!

Oh, how I adored this book!
When I read the novella Mistletoe Menagerie last year Janine Rosche instantly became one of my very favorite authors, I devoured and loved her debut novel, This Wandering Heart earlier this year, and Wildflower Road was one of my most eagerly anticipated reads of the year!
Oh my stars, this story exceeded every single one of my expectations, eeep it’s SOOOO good and I absolutely loved every minute of it!
It takes something special to make me feel giddy with excitement, and this story did it, I couldn’t stop smiling while reading this book, and the characters haven’t left my thoughts yet (and I highly doubt they ever will!)
I loved Ryann! My heart broke for all she had been through. I admired her strength, confidence, and great love for others! I want to be more like her, #lifegoals!
And Shane, oh my, there simply aren’t words to express just how amazing he is, so you’ll just have to read the book to find out! I love him so much, he is my favorite hero this author has written so far! Shane is totally my dream guy, he stole my heart, and I will forever be obsessively fangirling over him!
I love a good redemption story and Wildflower Road is one of the best I’ve read! The faith story touched my heart in a million ways, it’s a powerful message that everyone needs to read, in my opinion!
Another thing I loved about this book was the hint of danger and suspense, it was perfectly done and made me love the book even more!
This book does tackle some tough topics, but it does so with grace and sensitivity, while at the same time being very real about the issues we face in this fallen world.
This beautiful, captivating story held me completely spellbound from beginning to end!
Wildflower Road is utter perfection, and reading it is absolute bliss! This book is a must read that will always have a spot on my keeper shelf! It’s one of my favorite reads of 2020 and I’m already itching to re-read it!

I received an ebook copy of this book from the publisher. Which did not influence my review in any way. All thoughts and opinions are one hundred percent my own!
Wildflower Road is a Clean Christian Romance, set in West Yellowstone, Montana. A beautiful setting and an amazing story. It is the second book in the Madison River series. The series deal with some hard topics. But they are written with a lot of sensitivity and understanding. We all go through trials and challenges, it is how we choose to deal with them and who we put our faith in, that helps determine the outcome. The story is very engaging and I really loved the deep understanding of Ryann and Shane. A wonderful story of redemption and second chances. I can’t wait for Thomas’ story.
I received this book from the publisher and Net Galley for my honest opinion.
