Actress Drew Barrymore shares funny, insightful, and profound stories from her past and present—told from the place of happiness she’s achieved today—in this heart-stirring New York Times bestseller that InStyle called “deeply thoughtful and fun.” Wildflower is a portrait of Drew’s life in stories as she looks back on the adventures, challenges, and incredible experiences she’s had throughout … incredible experiences she’s had throughout her life. It includes tales of living in her first apartment as a teenager (and how laundry may have saved her life), getting stuck under a gas station overhang on a cross-country road trip, saying good-bye to her father in a way only he could have understood, and many more journeys and lessons that have led her to the successful, happy, and healthy place she is today.

Another recommendation, this is a collection of beautiful stories by a favorite actress. As a young adult it was heartwarming to read Drew’s stories, there is nothing but authenticity. Drew provides stories to let the world know she is as extraordinary and extra ordinary as I am. One particular story has taught me that doing my laundry means every small challenge is a step closer to solving any larger challenge..
I found this book very boring for the most part. The beginning third of the book was best. I was interested in Drew’s earlier life. When it got into her present life I just got bored. I wanted more about her up bringing and her strange childhood. Maybe that is all she had to offer. What she did offer for her childhood was good but I was hoping for more drama. Is that bad? Wanting more drama for someone’s life? I guess if you are going to write a book it, it should have a lot of drama in it.
Estelle Tang shares a list of 10 audiobooks narrated by celebrities, including Wildflower: “Drew Barrymore is everyone’s secret BFF—or, at least, she’s mine. Her warm, instantly recognizable voice gives this memoir even more of a personal touch.”

I saw this in @bookbub and bought it immediately! I started it and didn’t want to put it down it is so good! If you like you some @drewbarrymore get this now … if you hate her or have “issues” with her GET IT – I challenge you to not find some admiration and respect for her after you read this! I have always liked her and this made me respect her and adore her so much more! These are just stories she felt she needed to tell but they are also life lessons and gems for your own life.. her mothering style and perspective, her love and respect for dogs, her charity and generosity… there is just so much in this little quick read! I highly recommend it !!!
I shared some highlights in my stories – it is seriously so good I blew through this and wanted more – she is real and at times brought tears to my eyes but even in the shit she made me giggle and smile too!
Great read @penguinrandomhouse
Meh. Not sure I’ll even finish it. Not really interested in what she has to say
I think Drew Barrymore is a brilliant woman. She has had an exciting yet sad life. I admire her and feel sorry for her.
I love Drew Barrymore so it was a joy reading her book. Her honesty and way of writing was refreshing.
Enjoying read!
Drew Barrymore shares many of her life experiences and how they have impacted her as she matures into an amazing adult. Her writing is easy to read and it is not autobiographical in the sense that it jumps from experience to experience not necessarily in sequential order.
Always loved Reese as an actress. She writes like she speaks in interviews, a witty and original voice. Didn’t know the family back story. Explains a lot!
