He’s an alpha griffin shifter. She’s autistic. He’s met his match…When firefighter Rory lays eyes on fire watcher Edith, he instantly knows she’s the one. His fated mate. Now, to win her heart, he just has to protect her from:1. A raging wildfire (actually, she’s already got that covered, thanks)2. The lightning-throwing invisible monster that started it (um, the what?)3. Killer bunnies (don’t … that started it (um, the what?)
3. Killer bunnies (don’t even ask)
4. The appalling matchmaking attempts from his crew of misfit shifters (not only is this guy scorching hot, his dog is adorable too. And…weirdly smart?)
5. His own animal need to claim her. Now. (if only she could look him in the eye…)
Good thing that as a powerful griffin shifter, he can handle anything…right?
There’s only one problem.
The last thing this autistic woman wants—or needs—is to be protected…

Where can I find me a Hotshot?
I’m in love with this group of Hotshots! They are just one big family and they accept Edith into the fold almost as soon as they meet her. Rory couldn’t be a better alpha or a more perfect mate for Edith. He takes her differences in stride and learns her little tells to make it easier for her to cope. They might hit a couple bumps in the road, but they get through and the pack supports each other all the way until the end. Once I started reading I just was unable to put the book down until the very end. I can’t wait for the next book in the series!
“It started with a wildfire. Things went downhill from there. When firefighter Rory lays eyes on fire watcher Edith, he instantly knows she’s the one. His fated mate.” I read the original series and absolutely loved it. The younger crew is just as wonderful but they’re also different from their parents, which I enjoy. Loved all of the characters, especially Edith. Such a strong soul and perfect mate for Rory. Can’t wait to read the next one.
I love the way the autistic female lead was portrayed as an everyday person: Hardships, sense of humor, friendly, intelligent, and overall human.
Her condition was mentioned as an explanation but not an excuse.
The shifters in the book are the same way. With the exceptions of shifter traits, they had real personalities.
You also learn more on wildfire fighting and autism in-between the mythical shifter antics.
A very entertaining read.
You do not need to have read the other Fire and Rescue series to enjoy this one.
But if possible, do read this one on order as there is a running plot throughout it.
This is the first book in a new series. It is an exciting fast paced story full of friendship, love, danger, drama, silliness, and mystery. Plus there are hot protective fire fighting shifters. When Rory, a griffin shifter who’s also a hotshot firefighter, meets Edith, who’s an autistic fire watcher, he knows she’s his true mate. Now he just has to figure out how to be near her, explain that shifters are real and she’s his mate, while fighting off a lightening throwing monster. In order to get to their HEA, Rory and Edith will need to stop trying to guess what the other is thinking and trying to figure each other out by communicating directly. The way the quirkiness of Edith and the rest of A-squad is embraced rather than ignored or ridiculed gave me all the feels. I love when real issues are included in romances it makes for more rounded characters and storylines every time. This is my first book by this author but it will not be my last.
I loved this book. Not gonna lie it was awesome to read a paranormal romance with things like griffins, unicorns and pegasus rather than bears, wolves, and dragons (seems like the only animals’ paranormal romance writers know about). Also firefighters, not just the dude but the girl. Because believe it or not females can be firefighters! The girl wasn’t tiny, thin and in need of constant protection. She kicked some firefighter ass. I mean she totally rocked it. I also loved the creature causing issues was not another run of the mill shifter (again like all other PR books). I loved that one of the characters was autistic and that it showed how hard that can be and what trying to fit in with everyone else is like for someone different. I was super glad Edith finds a family that understands her in the end. And that the romance is bumpy! No romance is perfect and trying to sell that is insane. Every relationship has issues and overcoming them is half the battle. Proof you are meant to be. This highlighted that. Loved Rory too. He was hot and a kick-ass alpha but he sucked at reading signals and it made him so much more likable and realistic! I look forward to future books in this series!
Everything I was looking for, a highly enjoyable read
Book 1 in the Fire & Rescue Shifters: Wildfire Crew series, while I did get the feeling that this is a spinoff of a previous series (which a little research showed was the original Fire & Rescue Shifters), it worked well as a standalone.
This had a great setup with interesting characters, and I particularly liked that the main female character was autistic. I don’t know that much about autism other than what I’ve picked up here and there, but Edith’s characteristics felt authentic and in line with what I do know. I loved the world building and the mix of shifter types (I’m greatly looking forward to getting all their stories as well as reading those books in the earlier series), and there was plenty of humor and action to keep the story moving along.
A fast, highly enjoyable read, this had all the elements I was looking for in a fated mates story, and more. Note there are storylines carrying over into the rest of the series, and while Edith and Rory have their hfn, there’s a nice little hook at the end to pull you into the next book, which is Wystan’s story. 5 stars
I loved this book and the main girl in it, she reminds me of me. I love how Zoe made the main female character. It’s action, romance and supernatural packed into one awesome book. Highly suggest reading it.
They have done it again! Wildfire Griffin is a spinoff of the Fire and Rescue Shifters series. The tale was full of romance and steam. It was so refreshing to read a book that included a heroine that did not fit your typical romance heroine. I absolutely love and adore this series! I can’t wait for more!
My Thoughts – 5 out of 5 Unicorns – I loved it!!!
***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!! Yes, I received a review copy of this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book! I buy all of Zoe Chant’s books because I love her HEAs and her style of writing! Of course, I bought this one too!
The cover is beautiful in more ways than one!
Okay the Fire & Rescue Shifters was one of my most favorite series, so this spin-off is already a hit for me. I love that the kids have their own series! This series is also for adults only due to the steamy content.
Alpha Rory finds his mate at a fire, and she is a fire watcher. They both have secrets that they think will cause the other problems. There is so much going on in this book, but I don’t want to ruin anything. Her autism makes her look at things uniquely. She gets along with the team with some of the situations that occur with her interpretations are funny. This book had everything to make me love it: drama, romance, mystery, danger, and a happy surprise at the end that makes me excited for the next book. I can’t wait!!
I highly recommend to anyone who loved the original series or if you have loved any of Zoe’s work previously or to mythic shifters lovers because there is something for everyone!

••••••••••••••
Every year Ms. Zoe’s books that she writes are all an enjoyable reads, this one is no exception. This book had me on the edge of my seat from the first page, to the last . Definitely a Must Read!
Edith Stone is a Human Firefighter at least she tries to be, you see she has Autism, she likes being alone it is better being up in the Montana Mountains – Tower Thirteen watching for fires. This new fire is not only close but weird. Edith knows what she has to do.. Air… Fuel… Heat.. Create a line…. Then a killer Bunny attacked her and the very sexy firefighter creates a diversion saving her..
Rory MacCormick is Half Lion/Half Eagle which is a Griffin. He’s is Alpha of the A-Team aof the THUNDER MOUNTAIN HOTSHOTS, his whole team are shifters. Right now Rory cant quit smiling and acting like a dufuss, he just met his mate. Know he has to find a lightning-throwing invisible monster.
Merry Christmas
and
God Bless Us Everyone..
The Wildfire Crew are the children of the Fire & Rescue Shifters. They are as brave, forthright, sexy and funny as their parents and this first story, Wildfire Griffin, is a great beginning to what promises to be another wonderful and emotionally satisfying series. Our heroine Edith is a unique character with challenges seldom see in main characters in any genre. The author handles it with sensitivity and compassion and helps us unfamiliar with this condition understand it a little better. Rory is the Alpha of this crew of Hotshots and a finer, more noble Shifter would be hard to find. Together, they lead this group as they vanguish the evil that has been unleashed and discover what will undoubtedly be the plot of our next Wildfire Crew book. Highly recommended.
** spoiler alert ** Edith has always been different and never quite fitted in. Rory has always been determined to help others. Something is out to destroy them. Will Edith finally get her dream? Will Rory accept the help of his mate and pack?
Was soooo excited to be getting the next generation of Fire and Rescue Shifters! I loved how Edith was determined to do her best and that she found ways to help even being a human. I loved how Rory was determined to make her see that she wasn’t weird and that she was perfect for him the way she was. Cannot wait for the next book in the series!
I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
It was a great book!
Rory found his mate, Edith.
Now he just has to woo + protect her.
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
It’s refreshing to have a main character that’s not “normal” since in real life, “normal” is different for everyone. The character of Edith is well done and shows that her “normal” is just as normal as everyone elses. Rory starts off like most other heros, very alpha but a bit adirft when Edith doesn’t response is unexpected. There’s plenty of suspense, a creepy villian and a wonderful journey to find their HEA.
Enjoy!
