With Thunder Point, #1 New York Times bestselling author Robyn Carr has created a town where hard work and determination are all it takes to make dreams come true
Blake Smiley searched the country for just the right place to call home. The professional triathlete has traveled the world, but Thunder Point has what he needs to put down the roots he’s never had. In the quiet … roots he’s never had. In the quiet coastal town, he can focus on his training without distractions. Until he meets his new neighbors and everything changes.
Lin Su Simmons and her teenage son, Charlie, are fixtures at Winnie Banks’s house as Lin Su nurses Winnie through the realities of ALS. A single mother, Lin Su is proud of taking charge and never showing weakness. But she has her hands full coping with a job, debt and Charlie’s health issues. And Charlie is asking questions about his family history–questions she doesn’t want to answer.
When Charlie enlists Blake’s help to escape his overprotective mother, Lin Su resents the interference in her life. But Blake is certain he can break through her barriers and be the man she and Charlie need. When faced with a terrible situation, Blake comes to the rescue, and Lin Su realizes he just might be the man of her dreams. Together, they recognize that family is who you choose it to be.

So, so sad the Thunder Point series is over. Hopefully, Carr will return to Thunder Point soon as there is at least one broken heart that needs healed.
Loved it, hated to see the series come to an end
I believe that I have read all of her books and always look forward to the next release
My subjective review: It wasn’t that I didn’t like the story, per se, but the character Lin Sue was unreasonable, argumentative, OVERLY stubborn, irritable, rude, annoying as hell, and ungrateful. For a protagonist, she wasn’t likable. The male character, Blake, was so wonderful and remarkable, it was impossible to believe he would waste his time with such a pain in the ass female. I like strong, independent women who know what they want and who they are, but this female was close-minded and controlling. It makes all women who are smart and strong sound like they are bitches and shallow. The way she spoke to her son, Charlie, and her boss, Winnie, was obnoxious and also disrespectful. I would have dumped her in a heartbeat. Because of this undesirable character, this book went from a 5 star to 2.5 for me.
Her best series is Virgin River books but this a pretty good.
I loved the Thunder Point series. Each can stand alone but it’s much better to read them in sequence. They are spun off from the Virgin River series.
Loved that this book wove it’s way into the rest of the series. Very readable.
Good book
I wasn’t ready for this series to end. I didn’t want this little town go. The characters, each one of them, (not just the ones with books) were so easily connected to and you found yourself wondering what they’d all be doing next.
Lin Su and Blake’s story was not easy when you have someone that feels they deserve what isn’t theirs to begin with. They found a comfort in each other. He was so protective of Lin Su that he’d react without thinking. But it wasn’t always like this. Both made snap judgments of the other before getting to know them.
When letting their guard down, they found that a love they never thought they’d want was just next door.
Wonderful author!
