I was his weakness. He was my strength. Until I destroyed him.I was infatuated with Shane Wilder since the first time I saw him surfing. But we couldn’t be together. Not yet, anyway. I was too young and screwed up. He was too focused on chasing his dream. So we became friends. We met on the rooftop for late-night confessions under the stars. Cruised along the Pacific Coast Highway with the wind in … Coast Highway with the wind in our hair and the sun on our faces.
I took photos of all the beautiful and ugly and interesting things, while he traveled the world in search of the perfect waves.
I told him I would wait for him.
I never meant to lie.
I never meant to ruin his life.
I. Destroyed. Him.
As his star faded, mine burned bright. But as everyone knows, all that glitters is not gold.
Now I’m back after seven long years, hoping for a chance to right my wrongs and fix what I’ve broken. This time I can only hope that loving Shane Wilder will be enough to save him.

I don’t know if this will be coherent but I just finished Wilder Love and I’m sitting here trying to describe how beautiful and tragic, sad and sweet it all was. These characters, Remy and Shane, her brother Dylan, they all have had more tragedy in their young lives than most. Too bad fate isn’t quite done with them. The situation with Remy and Shane kept me on a knife’s edge, waiting for the other shoe to drop. I can’t tell you how many times I stopped and put down my e-reader to give myself a moment. Emery Rose paints such vivid pictures with her words, you can feel the California sunshine, smell the ocean. You can picture these people so easily in your mind’s eye, the events unfolding before you like a movie reel. This story broke my heart and put it back together. Be sure to bring your tissues, you are going to need them!
Their attraction was instant and deep. But life wasn’t that easy. Things stopped them from instantly getting their happily ever after. The angst and the pull was so strong. You were pulling so hard for them to just get it right and perfect. I was so sad for their time apart. I wanted to jump into the book and help them out! It was such a beautiful story, told so well. I absolutely loved Shane and Remy. I want to keep them forever and embrace their love!
Waves of emotions, paddling for your life not to drown in your sorrows, trying at times just to stay afloat and never giving up is just some of the feels you get in this at times tragic and beautiful story. This is a book that brings all the sensations you could ever experience. Sometimes they are subtle, sometimes they bring tears, sometimes you feel wiped out but most of all you feel love of all types, determination and you remain hopeful.
Talk about the yin to his yang. This is Remy and Wilder . Two forces that are so different in some ways yet undeniably drawn to each other. There isn’t much I didn’t love about Wilder but Remy with all she went through was always steadfast, tenacious and true to those she loved. So much I could say about this book but you need to read it.
Aside from Remy and Wilder there’s so many interesting secondary characters who I’m hoping some will be having their own stories, because I need more of these people.
The descriptions alone of Southern California and the glorious Pacific Ocean made me want to visit. Besides a beautiful story I got to immerse myself in the magnificent setting. I also got an education in surfing terms I previously hadn’t known.
Yes, Emery Rose took her writing to another level in this book. I am a fan of her other series but this book went straight to my heart. I hopped on board in the beginning( a little timid at first) and rode this wave of a book till the end and it was so worth it.
This book was nothing short of amazing. Every book I have read by Emery Rose has been amazing. This book took my emotions on the highest wave there was. My heart felt like it was on that surfboard and it kept falling off but Emery would put me right back on it. The writing was amazing. The story line was intriguing and captivating. The characters were life like and likable. I loved them in this book. My chest was psychically aching (I remember specially around 44%). The angst was unreal but felt so real and raw. The emotions were raw. This whole book was just freaking amazing!
Remy grew up in the school of hard knocks, her life has not been easy and she had to grow up faster than any child should. Shane knows heartbreak having experienced it at a young age but has a father who is a much a friend as a father. Shane and Remy bond over their love of the ocean but just as the ocean changes with the tide so does their relationship and let me tell you sometimes those waves are so big and wash over you and you are sure you will drown but that’s when Emery Rose throws you a life jacket. This story broke my heart….more than once….but Emery Rose was able to put the pieces back together. Emery Rose has such an uncanny ability to paint a picture with her words so that I feel like I’m watching a movie instead of reading a book. I developed such feelings for Remy and Shane it was difficult to watch them go through all the things they went through to find their happy ending which I think speaks to the writers strength of character development. All of the imagery of the ocean in this book left me needing a vacation to put my toes in the water, sit in the sand and watch the surfers at sunrise. Grab this one….along with a screen protector for your kindle and a box of Kleenex. 🙂
READ THIS BOOK!!! You will not be disappointed. It’s so different than any book I’ve read lately. Emery Rose killed it with this one!!
Oh. Dear. God. Talk about a different type of story from the other series! This author is clearly more than a one trick pony. I loved her Beautiful series, but I think that Shane and Remy have stolen my heart. They had a flash in the pan romance that was destroyed by anger and accidental tragedy, and if Shane could have his way, that would’ve been the end of it. But he didn’t count on Remy. He didn’t count on her tenacity, her “I’m not a doormat” attitude, or her insistence that she needed to be the person to make things right for him, for her, for them. There was a LOT of angst, a lot of push and pull, a lot of me wanting to beat my head against a wall and yell, and definitely some tears. Shane and Remy definitely had a difficult road to travel, but everything they survived so that they could LIVE was so worth the pain and struggle. I can’t wait to see what comes next from Emery Rose.
Wow! This is an incredible story! You will fall in love with these characters. This book will rip your heart out but no worries, it will be put back together again. Buckle up for this amazing ride.
Oh I don’t think 5 stars is enough for this book! Wilder Love is just that a wild and crazy love story. I recommend this book to anyone. I recommend Ms. Rose her books have never done me wrong this far. Can’t wait to read more of here work.
I am officially in love with Emery Rose’s writing. Wilder Love was a beautiful, tragic, emotional, raw and stunning love story. There were times reading Remy when my heart was so broken for her. I wanted to wrap my arms around her and tell her I’m in her corner. Shane was such a solid young man who was one with the ocean and found his strength there during the hardest times in his life. Together they were hopeful and made me believe in soul mates. Apart I yearned for them to find their way back to one another. 5 stars is not enough to rate this book! It’s in it’s own league. The Firefly and her surfer will stay with me forever! Well done Emery.
Emery Rose….What have you done to me? I had the privilege of beta reading this beauty and all I can say is wow! Set against the sun-drenched back drop of the Southern California coast, Wilder Love is a beautifully written story of love, loss and finding your way home. When Remy St. Clair first laid eyes on Shane Wilder, she knew he was different. As soon as she saw him surf, she knew her life would never be the same. “He looked like summertime. Like a California dream. Golden.” As their friendship grew, so did their attraction. The golden boy of the surfing world and the beautiful free spirit with eyes the color of the sea. She just needed to wait, be patient. He needed to do the same. But as decisions were made and lines drawn in the sand, would they ever be able to find their way to their happily ever after? With excellent character development, stunning imagery, and a story that draws the reader in, Wilder Love is a must read. 5 stars!
Wow. Emery Rose transports us to the beautiful southern coast of California in this rich, vivid, beautifully written story about love, fame, sacrifice, and discovery.
In Wilder Love, the uber-talented Emery Rose delivers the ultimate eye-candy man-god in surfer Shane Wilder. Shane is at the top of his game in search of a world championship. Enter Remy, a poor scrappy teenager who is tied to her twin brother and a mother who leaves a destructive wake as she drags them from town to town.
The story of Shane and Remy is told in love and heartache; Tears, fears, and cheers. And through an immersive journey which not only upsets every element of their lives but will have screaming into your pillow and reaching for the Kleenex. (Damn this woman can write)
Emery, as always, delivers an epic story which will have you in an emotional puddle. She crafts lyrical gut-wrenching moments that will make you feel as if you have been gifted to eavesdrop on a couple’s most private and sensitive moments. (I can’t recall ever highlighting so many beautiful passages in one novel before).
Wilder Love is simply a beautiful story that is best experienced in a dark quiet room with Ed Sheeran streaming in the background and the phone placed on silent. Another magnificent read by an incredibly talented author.
Emery Rose, where have you been all my life…?
This is my first read by this author, but I’m sure it won’t be the last!
16-year-old Remy St. Clair is beautiful and smart but had a hard childhood that forced her to grow up too fast – but everything changes when she arrives with her mother and twin brother, Dylan to Costa del Rey in California and meets Shane.
“ ,” .
. “ ?”
“. -. .”
21-year-old Shane Wilder is the town golden boy- a professional surfer with big dreams and a bright future… And he can’t he stop thinking about Remy.
Despite their age differences they cannot deny their crazy attraction – But Shane is not ready to cross the boundaries, so they become friends. They fit so perfectly that it was only a matter of time before they surrender, and when they finally do – their love blossoms and they make plans for a future together…
Until everything crashes and goes up in flames.
” , , .”
7 years later, the wheels has turned and Remy is a famous model and Shane has nothing to look forward to – but Remy returns to Costa del Rey to fix everything that was broken between them.
Will she succeed? Will they find the happy ending they deserve…?
It’s a story about forbidden love and second chances that made me feel all the emotions – it was romantic, sexy, full of angst, funny, heartbreaking and hopeful – just the way I like them!
” , , , .”
I loved the writer’s images of the ocean, I loved the special plot and I especially loved that it wasn’t another story where the rich man rescues the poor woman – because once Shane was the one to save her… and now Remy saves him…
” . . … .”
I’ll have to say that the first half of the book was intriguing, hot, and very surprising – but the other half was a little dragged and felt too long for my liking, but it didn’t made me enjoy the book any less.
So if you want to read a special love story that will conquer your heart, I highly recommend this book…!
oh my god! One of my all times favourite reads. A 10 star heartfelt masterpiece.
I won’t say what this story is about because it needs to be experienced. All I will say is this is about first love, forbidden love and a second chance. It’s got it all.
It’s a beautifully written story that was heartbreaking and heartwarming all at once. I don’t get emotional often while reading a book, but Wilder Love got to me. I felt so much for these amazing characters. Secondary characters played an important role in the development of the story.
A very talented author in her creative writing. She has accomplished this beautiful art of writing. A roller coaster of emotions. It was captivating and addicting. Bottomline is this is a MUST read.
Standalone told in a dual POV with an HEA. I strongly recommend this story.
Emery Rose has done it again, the master of delivering beautiful souls that capture your heart.
I’ve always loved the quote “Sunshine always follows rain” and if ever it suited a book it would be this one. This is a story so real and believable you could see it unfolding before your eyes. It was something a little different; he was my first Surfer, Shane Wilder the tanned, lean, broad shouldered poster boy, living his dream, making his way up the ladder to be the world champion.
Remy and Dylan were on the move again with their mother. Rae St. Clair never settled, the next town was always going to be better, so this time they landed in the beach town of Costa Del Ray. The life they had experienced growing up had made them resilient and independent. Remy, a true natural beauty caught the eye of her neighbor when she was on her way to the beach to see the ocean for the very first time.
This was an emotionally charged book, I loved the light and dark, I cried tears of sadness and of joy. So many great highlights but I loved this.
“Ask any man what his greatest weakness is, and if he’s being honest, he will tell you it’s his woman. Not just any woman. The one woman who is capable of bringing him to his knees.”
There are people in this book you will love and some you will truly despise but that is the brilliance of this author. The side characters play an integral part in making this a book that will have you wishing for a series, it’s that good.
So take me back to the beach. I want all those sunrises and sunsets. I loved Shane and Remy. You left me with a happy heart and wanting so much more.
5 stars!! This book was wonderful!!
I am in awe of this author. I mean I rode a whole life journey with this book. I am in love with this story. Remy and Dylan broke me. And then enter Shane for goodness sake.
Remy and Shane were doomed from the beginning. This is one of those story’s that make you so frustrated but you keep fighting and every now and then you get a reward.
The author did a wonderful job of portraying these characters. I was in love from page one to “the end”. I can’t wait for Dylan’s book though I am worried there was a lot of his stories revealed in this one. Anyhoo I know he will keep us on our feet!!
**I received this book as a review copy**
Don’t you just love it, I mean totally love it when a book knocks you off our feet, making your heart beat wildly, especially when you least expect it?? Wilder Love has just done that to me & I’m so, so unbelievably happy I got to experience Shane & Remy’s journey through love, loss, anger & regret as they clawed their way to happiness.
I wasn’t expecting to get so emotional over their story, to cry at their pain & hurt at their heartache, but Emery somehow managed to layer this extraordinary read, with true, heartfelt emotion at every turn of the page. She made me love these two tragically broken characters so effortlessly, all while ensuring I couldn’t tear my eyes away until the very last word was read. I’ll remember Shane & Remy for a very long time to come.
One of my Top Reads of the year & In my opinion Emery’s best book to date.

Emery Rose has quite the way with words that can emotionally and physically make you feel like you’re in the book as one of the characters. I was laughing, crying and screaming all within minutes. I was so emotionally invested and affected by this books. Great job by this author.

Their love is like the ocean, it never really says goodbye.
Wilder Love tells the story of Remy and Shane. Almost a decade of love and anger, beauty and pain, and strength and fear.
Both Remy and Shane have spent almost a lifetime without their mothers. One tragically ripped from her child, the other unable or unwilling to love her child the way she should.
A perfect story of angst and heartbreak, so many mistakes, and two young people who believe they don’t deserve to find the love they so desperately need.
Emery Rose has woven a story so filled with love and sadness, I will never forget the beautiful words she has shared. Absolutely stunningly beautiful, how much pain can a couple share until it destroys them?
