One of my favourite books of 2018. As I expected this was a fun and oh so spicy listen too. Both Quinn and Cat are fabulous characters and I would love to read and listen to more of their life together in the future. One click now, totally worth it.
I absolutely love Quinn Bailey. Quinn and Cat are absolutely adorable together and I can’t get enough of them. This story was sweet and funny and will definitely leave a smile on your face. I loved every minute of this story expect maybe QB’s parents. Another fantastic read that you won’t want too put down.
great start to what will surely be a witty and fun series!
Okay, okay. I did it. I finally read a Max Monroe book. What took me so long? Hell, I honestly have no fucking clue. Is it a lack of time? Am I afraid the books won’t live up to the hype? Whatever my excuses were in the past, I have to let them go. And I need to go find me a bad boy billionaire because after meeting Quinn Bailey, I’m sure I’ll love all of the Max Monroe books. ALL. OF. THEM.
Quinn Bailey is the greatest quarterback ever. He’s gorgeous, charming, and absolutely every single thing you could want in a man.
Catharine Wild is a flight attendant who knows absolutely nothing about football. So, when Quinn Bailey lands himself in her first class cabin, she has no clue who he is. When she stumbles upon him again, she’s still just as clueless.
But Quinn can’t hide from reality and the reality is: people know him. Or at least know of him. And that’s when Cat learns he’s more than just a charmer.
This is one of those feel good books. It feels good to read it. It feels good to go on this journey with Quinn and Cat. And this feel good book tackles (see what I did there?!) some seriously tough issues. Tough issues such as sexuality and race.
So, yes, this is a feel good book, but you’ll be asked to deal with the closed-mindedness of others.
If Max Monroe did anything with this book, it was make me feel like I could find my very own QB. And now I have to see where this series takes me. Sean is up next and I’m more excited than I should be.
This talented duo of Max Monroe has another fantastic RomCom with a lot of heart. Quinn is a perfect book boyfriend. Cat is wonderfully adorable. Love the bit where she thought trying to surprise Quinn “at work”. And with phrases like “unicorn of kisses”, this book is full of sighs and plenty of laughs that Max Monroe is well known for. Perfect book to curl up to. Well done, Max & Monroe. (To this day, I still don’t care who the two of you are.)
Quinn and Catharine’s story is one that will melt your heart and have you falling in love with this couple. As they try to settle into a new relationship with fame, schedules and racism causing hurdles at every turn this will not be an easy road for them. At times Wildcat will make your heart ache. There are moments in this book that will have you laughing uncontrollably and will be a scene that will make you smile every time you think of it. This book is funny, sweet, flirty, sexy and deals with some real life issues. Quinn and Catharine’s story will leave you purring with total contentment as you turn the last page.
I am a huge football fan, and football romance is one of my absolute favorite reads. And wow, Wildcat is in my top five favorites! I freaking loved every bit of Quinn and Cat’s romance. It was smart, fresh, sexy fun and I couldn’t read Wildcat fast enough to keep up with Quinn and his “wooing Cat” shenanigans.
I love a smart, ambitious, “comfortable in her own skin” woman. I love Cat’s attitude and approach to life. And how dedicated she is in improving herself and making her own way. I also love how she reacted to the adorable meet-cute with Quinn.
And Quinn. The man has lived the life of a golden boy—star player on and off the field. I love his confidence, his “joie de vivre” and how he’s willing to relentlessly pursue his dreams in work and life.
Wildcat is told in dual POV which is actually the perfect way to get to the heart of both Quinn and Cat. I loved their slow burn relationship and having the “inside track” on their thoughts added so much to the story for me. I loved their interactions. Loved how they got to know each other. And I cannot wait for more in this Mavericks Tackle Love series.
*4 Stars*
I enjoyed this one, as per usual with Max Monroe books. Quinn seems a bit stalker-ish at first, but then I realised its his way of showing he will make an effort and is truly interested in Cat. It’s certainly a great storyline – the very busy flight attendant and the very busy NFL player – how can they make it work with such hectic schedules?
The funny banter between Quinn and Cat, and Cat’s inner dialogue had me laughing at this one.
“In the wise words of Uncle Jessie – Have Mercy”
There were some great secondary characters in this too – Sean, Denver and Nikki and Casey. They helped round things out nicely with some extra comedy.
This one is a fairly fast read, and in true Max Monroe style its quite funny too. There are also some true issues dealt with in the second half of the book, and you’ll understand what I mean when you read it. I thought this was dealt with well, the whole way it was written.
Quinn and Cat might be unconventional at first, but Quinn is a huge softy and the lengths he goes too are quite funny and are the driving force to this story. Everything works out nicely in the end and I look forward to the next book, which is about Sean Phillips. *eep, more Cassie, maybe?*
Max Monroe has already created some of my favorite alpha male heroes and quirky and sassy heroines in their catalog of stories, but when it comes to the charming southern gentleman with the right amount of sweet and sexy, Quinn Bailey tops them all, even Thatch, which I can’t believe I’m saying, but that doesn’t mean it’s any less true.
Mr. QB…Mr. High Profile Player…Mr. Eat, Sleep, and Breathe New York Mavericks football is the TOTAL package, and it’s not just because he has the body of an Adonis and the athletic skills of a god; Quinn Bailey is more than just a handsome man and a champion athlete. He’s playful, charming, flirtatious, and down to earth. He can be cocky, but he lives up to the hype because he knows how to call plays in the bedroom just as much as he does on the football field and in both arenas, he’s quite the superstar.
Quinn leads a very public life, but he’s truly a humble guy who feels blessed that he’s in the position that he’s in and he knows that fans and admirers are all a part of the professional sports world and he takes everything in stride, understanding that he made it to the big time due to his determination and skills but he remains there not only because he works his ass off but because he knows what’s important and what needs to be tuned out when it comes to the NFL, the media, and even his agent, his assistant, and his parents.
Quinn Bailey makes his own destiny, working off of the idea that it only takes ‘one-minute of bravery’ for ‘something great to happen,’ and by combining as many minutes of greatness that he can, he proves the kind of man, player, son, brother, and teammate he is day in and day out. But regardless of how prepared Quinn is for the new NFL season, taking the proper steps and measures to not only have another winning season but also to make it to the ultimate end game – the Super Bowl, he’s holy unprepared for a certain flight attendant who makes his heart race, his body hum, and his mind imagine all the things he’d like to do with a certain Kitty Cat.
I adore Wildcat’s heroine, Catharine Wild. She’s extremely relatable, and she keeps Quinn on his toes. She’s honest about who she is and what she feels, and her ‘realness’ is what makes Quinn want Cat even more. Despite Quinn’s more than obvious infatuation with her, Cat doesn’t know if she and Quinn can make a relationship work due to hectic schedules, the public’s perception of her ‘commonness’ compared to Quinn’s stardom, and certain people’s prejudice based on her heritage and upbringing. But Quinn’s not a quitter and so while he and Cat work to find a balance in their ‘new’ commitment to one another, Quinn continues to prove what he’s made of and how he feels about his ‘kitten’ through romantic and sexy texts, thoughtful words, and sweet endearments. Because from Quinn’s perspective, winning Cat’s heart is just as important as winning the Super Bowl for his New York Mavericks.
Wildcat is such a fantastic story, and while it’s a bit of a slow burn when it comes any ‘sexy’ times between the hero and the heroine, I thoroughly enjoyed Quinn and Cat getting to know one another and every time Quinn took it upon himself to prove that his connection to Cat was something he wanted to explore further through his ‘stalking’ tendencies by airplane and his desire to constantly FaceTime Cat, I knew that Quinn would continue to be the amazing QB that he is and learn to be an amazing boyfriend to the woman who makes him want to focus on more than just his job and extend it to the person who could quite possibly spend the rest of his life with…
Max Monroe’s new Mavericks’ series is off to a fantastic start and I, for one, can’t wait for them to introduce other pro football players and the women who make them want to go for more than just a touchdown or a field goal.
4.5 Poison Apples (The Fairest of All Book Reviews)
Prepare for a wild ride with Wildcat. Max Monroe has done it again and this time they incorporated my all time favorite sport into the plot. Quinn Bailey is the QB for the New York Mavericks (I’m a Giants fan). He meets Cat Wild on yet another awesomely written first encounters. Love! Love! Love! This story! Plenty of on the field and off the field action. You’ll root for Wildcat.
You’re in for one wild ride. . .
Wildcat is another smash hit from the dynamic duo, Max Monroe! It has the feels, the laughs, the swoon-ability to sweep you right off your feet and never put you down. Wildcat has that “it” factor that takes the quintessential sports romance to a whole new playing field!
Everyone loves a sexy, gorgeous, and dirty-talking male character. Come on, you can’t deny it…they’re irresistible. But add in charm, wit, and the overall “nice guy” elements, and you’re a goner! And that’s exactly who Quinn Bailey is, and it’s no wonder Cat Wild was completely captivated with him.
Lust plays a heavy role initially upon first meeting Quinn and Cat. Intrigue, attraction, and compatibility drives that lust into a profound connection that neither character expected. With the insane schedules that come with being a professional athlete and a flight attendant, you can only imagine that love was the furthest from either of their minds. And as the saying goes “absence makes the heart grow fonder”, it couldn’t be more accurate when referencing Quinn and Cat. Their passionate magnetism radiates heat, desire, and intensity, transforming into a deep affectionate love.
I knew what I was going to get when I started reading this book, but it also simultaneously surprised me. I knew Wildcat was going to be another beautifully penned book, with an undeniably romantic HEA. But at the same time, this multicultural love story impressed me with its references to societal issues that are very real, and very current. Judgment and preconceived notions way heavily on the undertone of the story, and to read how these characters overcame such intolerance shows the author’s amazing ability at storytelling.
Overall, Wildcat was a complete success, a game winner with its provocative and emotional love story. Whether you’re a fan or a newbie to Max Monroe, don’t pass up this book…you won’t regret it.
5 She Got the QB Stars!!!
Holy Wowza!!! Max Monroe has totally UPPED their game with this first book in the Marvericks series. Quinn Bailey is above and beyond what I look for in a Hero in a book. He’s oh so good looking, funny, intelligent, a kickass NFL Quarterback, but most importantly he has a heart of gold!
Enter Catharine, the beautiful flight attendant on Quinn’s flight…his life literally changes when he puts his eyes on her. This is a man that is focused solely on the game not letting anything distract him, but the beautiful woman standing at the front of the plane too hard to ignore and Cat is having her own thoughts of our sexy as all get out QB….
“What does a guy like that look like underneath his clothes? My brain screamed, Strong and big and thick in all of the right places.”
Oh my goodness, my heart was racing the more I read. I know I’m in for a wild ride with these two!! And just like any great athlete who has the capacity to get anything they want, once Quinn sets his mind on taking the beauty in front of him out, he’ll stop at nothing to make it happen….let the fun begin.
I got more enthralled with this story the more I read. The humor that I’ve come to expect from these authors had me snort laughing out loud so many times. Combine that with a level of hotness Quinn and Cat bring out in each other and I swear my kindle almost went up in flames!
What’s even more special about this book is that there’s a storyline I wasn’t expecting and I’m not going to go into details about it because that would simply ruin it for you. Let’s just say that even though I knew what kind of man Quinn Bailey was, he just solidified himself in my Top Five Favorite Heroes of all time. He’s EVERYTHING!!!
Once these two get a taste of each other, look out world because they’re on fire and nothing will stop them….or will there be some hurdles that need to be scaled to get to their HEA? What I can tell you without an iota of doubt is that Max Monroe has an ability to write a story that captures the reader with their humor, steamy love scenes and characters that I become invested in and NEED to have in my life no matter what!!!
Wildcat is Book 1 in the new Mavericks series from the dynamic writing due of Max Monroe and once again they have given us another brilliantly written romantic comedy.
Quinn Bailey the quarterback for the New York Mavericks and he is just perfect, he is funny, hot and goes out of his way to prove his feelings for Cat the sassy, sweet stewardess he meet on a plane trip.
Quinn and Cat are perfect together they have just the right mix of romance, fun and steamy passion, the banter is hilarious and the storyline is believable.
This book isn’t a quick romp it’s a journey and Max Monroe really knows how to make us feel part of the journey that Quinn and Bailey need to take as they get to know each other, it’s a funny read but it’s also a beautifully written love story and one of my favourite lines is “Can I kiss you, Kitty Cat”
I loved Quinn and Cat and I’m really not sure where the authors are going to go with Book 2 because this couple is a hard act to follow but I sure as in previous series each book will give us another couple we will call in love with, I for one can’t wait to see where Pick Six Book 2 in the Mavericks takes us.
