Pack Rule #2: Always protect your mateI protected my country. Protected my platoon. Now all I wanted to protect was her.Too bad that wasn’t an option.I couldn’t fall for the beautiful slip of a female. The baby sister of my brother’s new mate. She was way too young. Way too human. Still in college. And too bright a force of nature. She had her whole life ahead of her.And I had the Green Berets … life ahead of her.
And I had the Green Berets begging me to reenlist.
My wolf… he wanted her.
But if I let her go without claiming her,
I might not survive the moon madness.

Another real good paranormal tale! Although this is book number two in the series, it is the first one that I’ve read from the Wolf Ranch series. However, other than a few minor bits of backstory – mostly related to relationship between the two sisters, and possibly some about the three brothers – I didn’t feel at all lost as to what was transpiring in the story.
The chemistry between Marina and Colton was undeniable, and made for some real steamy love scenes. I quickly got annoyed with his hot-and-cold treatment of her, however. Marina was younger than him by a considerable margin, but other than a few minor spats of juvenile behavior, she handled the whole thing much more maturely than Colton. Honestly, she put up with it all much better than I would have done!
There was some minor trouble with an outside force, but nothing very intense at all. There was also a brief reference to a prior incident, but most of it seemed to be laying background for a future confrontation that had yet to materialize.
The relationship between the sisters was fun to witness, as was that between the brothers; although they were most definitely different in many ways. I was rather irked at the impediment that the brothers seemed to throw up for Colton, and especially all of the trouble and unnecessary heartache that it caused for Marina.
Overall, I really enjoyed getting to know all of the characters though. In fact, I’m thinking that I’ll have to go back and read the first book of the series, in order to get the full story on Audrey and Boyd. I also hope to see at least one more volume, so that Rob has a chance at his own happily-ever-after as well, and maybe even some of the ranch hands, too.
Overall, this was a very fun, rather lighthearted, and definitely sexy take on the paranormal romance scene.
One wild night
This writing duo has sure blown past my expectations with this second book in the series. Why yes, I am already anxiously anticipating the next book. I really fell in love with these characters, from the one-night stand to the HEA they kept me on the edge of my seat. The sex scenes are as steamy as I have come to expect from these ladies, and the emotional turmoil and angst when the hot alpha male thinks he knows what is best for the little lady. This book is one that is going to draw you in and leave you wanting more. I really fell in love with these characters and I hope we get to see a bit of them again in the next book. No matter what, it will be one that I come back to again to relive this wild ride.
Lover of all things PNR and this book blew me away. They meet at a wedding. Their siblings wedding to be exact. What can possibly go wrong? Amazing chemistry. Beautiful story. Quick awesome read.
I wasn’t really feeling book 1 of the Wolf Ranch series, but I liked this book much better.
Colton was intense. Marina was sassy. Together, they were combustible. I liked that Marina knew what she wanted pretty consistently throughout the book. Of course Colton knew she was his fate mate.
For Marina to be so young, she behaved much better than older h’s in so many books. She was more self assured. Colton and Marina had such great chemistry. I thought Marina outshines her sister Audrey. Even when she had to face the situation with her dad, she stood strong. She let her emotions overcome her once, but we still didn’t have to deal with a ton of angst.
This was a fast paced, instalove, romantic, steamy shifter read with Colton and Marina finding their own HEA. I’m looking forward to Rob’s book.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
