Lily didn’t know she was a wolf. She is the daughter of the Windbourn alpha. She was destined to be a wolf.
I love reading Grace Goodwin’s books. Wild Wolf Claiming is a Standalone Paranormal (shapeshifter) Romance Novella. It is a quick and hot book to read.
Lily Windbourne is the daughter of the Windbourn Alpha. She is destined to be a wolf. Her Granddad raised her.
Lily is tired of her controlling family and is leaving to go attend college in a different state. Her car breaks down and the story continues from there.
Wild Wolf Claiming is a Novella so the story is a bit rushed and it is almost an instalove romance. I personally love novella’s. They can fit in nicely between some of my longer books that I read. That way I am not always rushed in reviewing books.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. I give Wild Wolf Claiming 4 stars and I can’t wait to see what else Grace writes!
This story is not so much the damsel in distress as a young woman trying to find her place and make her own way. Tired of the whispers that have surrounded her since her childhood, an overbearing Grandfather and the hulking shadows always following her around for her protection, Lily is fed up and ready to venture out on her own. Having applied to a college a ways away from her home, she packs up all her things and high tails it out of town in the dark, like a thief in the night. All she wants is her independence, to be free and make her own decisions in life. Her hometown holds many secrets that she has never been privy to and everyone has always watched her, waiting with anticipation…but for what? She has never understood the secrecy, the covert looks or the strange, demanding behavior of her (now ex) boyfriend. She runs away leaving it all behind, ready to start anew.
Just outside of her new destination, where she will attend college, she gets a flat tire and a gorgeous stranger comes to her aid. Both immediately drawn to each other, Kade offers assistance and continues to see her once she is settled. When they met, his wolf recognized her as its mate and he is determined to stay close, to claim her when she is ready. Also after their meeting, strange things start happening to her body…a feeling, a gnawing deep within trying to break free. When her ex shows up at her door expecting to return her home, she panics and escapes into the night; only to find Kade waiting. Sensing her wolf is close to emerging and knowing she has no idea he sets about to fill her in on her history…their shared destiny, telling her his wolf has chosen her as his mate and he will keep her safe and do whatever he must to claim her as his own. Accepting of her true nature and wanting a future with Kade, Lily agrees to become his mate at a claiming ceremony. However, there is a catch. There will be several unmated wolves ready to claim her as well. Following their ancient customs, she is blindfolded and bound, left only to her own feelings and senses, and must choose her mate. Scared and unsure of herself, will she be able to pick out her wolf? Will her wolf recognize its mate?

Perfect for a few hours sitting poolside, this book is a quick, steamy read that will have you shivering in delightful anticipation. I love the characters, and that instant connection! The story may be fast-paced, but the author gave it the perfect edge of danger and intrigue. This is one of those books that just calls you back again and again, and I can’t wait to return.
