The music calls Georgie.Every night, she stands offstage, watching Xan Valentine set fire to the crowd with music until they would burn down the city for him. His music wraps her until her fingers dance, desperately wanting the piano, but her terrified legs could never walk onto a stage. Most nights, when Xan Valentine strides off the stage, his dark eyes shift, blurring, and he becomes Alexandre … shift, blurring, and he becomes Alexandre de Valentinois again.
Sometimes, Xan won’t let go.
Some of the other band members, Rade and Grayson, are caught in a death spiral of booze, drugs, and groupies.
The drummer, Tryp, is too infatuated with his new wife to do more than show up to play.
Xan is the only one who can compel them onto the stage. He’s holding Killer Valentine together with the force of his will.
This can’t go on.
Something has to break.

Heartbreaking!!! You will ugly cry reading this book, it’s inevitable
What a wonderfully crafted story with such highs & lows!! Xan is a man walking a tightrope & hanging on by his fingernails & no one but Georgie seems to see it!!!

This is Xan and Georgie’s story. If you have followed Killer Valentine then you may have noticed all the band members are finding their other half. The half that will help keep them in line as the band members are all either addicted or just about dead. Xan has never let on that what is between him and Georgie is anything but casual in fact that is what they both want no strings nothing long term.
Xan is so much more than the lead singer of the band. Georgie has a lot of baggage and she is hesitant when Xan begs her to tag along with him and the band on the road.
Georgie is conflicted who is she with? Xan the lead singer of Killer Valentine or Alex the gentle soul she met while in college. He is one in the same or is he?
What about those that are after Georgie can Xan really keep her safe?
I enjoyed this book and I have enjoyed each story in this series.
I wrote this review in May 2015.
I’m not sure what to say except I can’t wait for the next episode.
The more I read of Blair Babylon’s work the more I want; she can’t possibly write fast enough. I’ve made no secret of the fact that I don’t care for serials/books with cliffhangers but I’m making exceptions for my favorite authors. Why? For one thing the writing is excellent and the stories compelling; the other thing is that these are not just “chapters” or small pieces of a book being sold at, IMHO, exorbitant prices. Each one of the books/episodes in her Billionaires in Disguise (BID) and Rock Stars in Disguise (RID) are at least novella length.
I won’t give too much of the story away; you need to read it for yourself. Alex/Alexandre/Xan is a seriously damaged person and we really see that in a big way in this book. Georgie is running from the Russian mafia and Xan wants to protect her; this also is very important in this episode.
There is fantastic chemistry between Georgie and Xan but in this episode the sex wasn’t what compelled me to keep reading as much as the story itself (this isn’t a negative comment; just how I felt after reading this book). Georgie’s training as a classically trained pianist plays an important role in this book.
The cliffhanger for this episode left me feeling almost overwhelmed; I have a book hangover. Blair, please hurry with the next book!
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review but I also purchased a copy because I loved the book.
The BID: Rae, BID: Lizzy and BID/RID: Georgie/Xan stories all contain connected characters but each serial can also be read on its own. If you haven’t read the other serials/books I highly recommend them.
Wild Thing allows us a much deeper dive into this beautifully enchanting and fiercely emotional rollercoaster that is Georgie and Xan. We are privileged to see behind the veil on the mysterious and complex character that is Xan. I loved how we are granted a back stage pass to get to know the other band members as well. We see their strange dynamic up close and personal, and nothing is as it seems when it comes to Killer Valentine. So sit back, fasten your safety belt, and be prepared to for one wild and unforgettable ride!
Georgia is determined to keep her heart as far away from Xan as possible. She is only with him for some temporary no strings fun and a place to hide while she regroups and gets her life back on track. No long term plans for her thank you very much and especially not with a man like Xan. The Ice Princess is firmly in charge and has no desire to relinquish control to anyone. Xan says he only wants Georgie around for some much needed fun and to help with his songwriting. That’s all he needs, and he barely has any time for those things with his band’s packed scheduled. However, what he didn’t count on was how quickly, quietly, and completely she has invaded his life, his heart, and his very soul. Now, all he wants is to keep her safely by his side, and he will do it by whatever means possible. After all alive and brokenhearted is better than dead and never coming back. What is a girl to do when her life hangs in the balance, and the only one who can save her is the very man who can easily destroy her? What will Xan risk to keep Georgie safe and his band on schedule to see their rise to fame finally become reality?
I loved getting to know these beautiful characters on a much deeper level. They made me fall in love with all of them without any regrets. Georgie and Xan are both phenomenal characters who never failed to show me how beautiful life is when you find the person that completes you and how devastating love can be when it is toyed with and forced into a mold that it was never meant to fill. We have to be true to ourselves if we hope to grow and live a rich and fulfilling life. If we aren’t honest with ourselves, then we can never be truly honesty with anyone else. We all have choices we have to make, but we need to sure that they are good for not only us but for those around us. No matter what people may tell you, family and friends are all that you have in this world, so they should never be treated poorly or taken advantage of.
Blair Babylon has written another utterly incredible work of art. No matter how many of her books I have read, she continues to become an even greater and more formidable author whose fierce passion and unbreakable conviction shines through the crowd to illuminate her uniquely creative and completely unforgettable genius. She excels at shining the light on the human soul and illustrating that we all have pieces of both light and dark inside each of us. We have to choose which we will allow to dominate and control us. Only we have that choice, and it should never be taken lightly.
Blair continues the combined stories of Georgie from BID and Xan from RSID. Georgie is still hiding from the Russian mob and Xan is hiding from his true self. I honestly believe that Xan has a personality disorder and I am anxious to find out what really happened when he was at school that makes Flicka tell Georgie that she needs to get away from him. My heart was broken at the end of this part of the story and I can only hope that things work out the way they are supposed to in the next part. Now I just have to sit on pins and needles, waiting for that book to come out, so that I can find out what happens next. Don’t miss this series or you will be sorry.
