Kidnapping her was the easy part. Now I’ve got to tame her.Runaway corporate princess, Lyssa Baylor, was born with a silver spoon in her mouth. But that’s not what I’ll be sticking in there.LYSSAFreelance princess hunter, Mason Macintyre, thinks he’s so tough with those bulging muscles. He thinks he’s so smart with his plan to tame me with spankings and submission. Well, I’ve got news for him. … and submission. Well, I’ve got news for him. They don’t call me Wild Thing for nothing.
I’ve been playing unruly princess my whole life and I’m not about to stop now.
MASON
This was supposed to be a simple kidnap job. Catch her and bring her in so she can be married off to the son of a family friend. But once her father realizes the man he hired to reform his unruly brat of a daughter won’t be able to handle her, he blackmails me into completing the job.
No one blackmails me, I don’t care how rich and powerful you are. Her father might be untouchable, but Lyssa isn’t. I’m gonna touch her all over and punish her so hard, that forced marriage will be her only way out of my little princess reform school.
WILD THING is a smokin’-hot, sexy story of a runaway princess and her reluctant Prince Charming. A tantalizing tale of forced marriage, captive submission, and a hero who doesn’t know he’s a hero until he meets the girl he was meant to save.

Best Kidnapping Ever!!
Delightful characters, intriguing storyline, and a very special someone who is wise enough to look below a façade and see the truth which is deeply buried. Equal parts danger, family issues, undeniable attraction, humor and more combine to create an amazing story.
*** I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book ***
*I received a free copy of Wild Thing. This has in no way influenced my review which is honest and unbiased.*
Wild Thing was a very intriguing story! It took me a little while to warm up to both Lyssa and Mason, but once I did, I was all in with them. Most of the story unfolded in a huis clos, where Mason was trying to ‘tame’ Lyssa so she could get married. Only, there was something strange going on both with Lyssa and with the mansion they were staying at. The suspense was both physical and psychological, and that made me read with eagerness to see what Mason could do to maybe save Lyssa for real.
Solid writing, and characters that evolved during the weeks they were together made this a very enjoyable tale.
Once again JA Huss has surprised me. I wasn’t sure what to expect from Wild Thing and quite frankly I was confounded trying to figure out what what was going on. That’s a good thing, right? It keeps you reading to find out what happens next. As the story unfolds both Mason and Lyssa’s behavior and emotions change markedly. Sometimes we do the wrong thing for all the right reasons. Such is the case with Mason and he becomes an unwitting pawn. Lyssa’s bratty rich princess behaviors have solid foundations deeply rooted in her past. The two become closer as they spend time with one another as they are being manipulated. Two and two are not adding up to four as Mason puts puzzle pieces together.
Gah, I’m sad this is as of right now, the last “naughty thing” of the series. I really enjoyed these shorter reads. While out of the three, this one was my least favorite, but the story line still had a twist to it. I think I might have work my way through Julie’s backlist, her books are so different. I look forward to more.
Wild Thing is the third book in her shorter, sweeter book series. Each one is completely different. This one reminded me more of Julie’s other books. It may be shorter, but there’s definite anticipation wondering where the storyline is head. LOVED IT! Excellent reading. It’s my favorite of the three.
*l recieved an ARC of this book and this is my voluntary review.
I really enjoyed Wild Thing. It is a bit different from Huss’s typical writing style. It is more tame, but not less sexy. The plot is solid and the hero is drool-worthy. Huss still gets the dark and gritty in there, just not so much in your face at first.
Mason is a bounty hunter turned princess hunter. He has a job to do and he will get the job done. No matter how hard Lyssa kick his ass.
Lyssa is the princess. The spoiled little rich girl that can’t be tamed. Hence the name Wild Thing.
Lyssa’s step-father wants her to come home, but she isn’t having that so he hires Mason to get her home. Only once Mason gets her back to her step-father something doesn’t feel right.
Mason ends up having to keep an eye on her for a couple of weeks and is told to tame the Wild Thing and it seems he has, at times. He knows something is wrong. Is he going to find out in time what the problem is or is Lyssa going to be left to fate?
“Wild Thing,” I say, then chuckle a little. “I think I like you.”
Another amazing read by JA that I absolutely devoured. I was hooked from the start. Lyssa & Mason, I absolutely loved together and loved every minute of their story. This book was crazy good and the twists wow. Amazing story with amazing characters that everyone must read.
Strap on your seat belt because this books takes off like a rocket and doesn’t let off the gas! In true JA Huss fashion, her characters are always more than they appear when we first “meet” them. Although the story is told from a dual point of view, the author does a masterful job of maintaining the mystery behind what is driving both our Hero, Mason, and our heroine, Lyssa. Their sexual encounters will burn your fingers as you turn the page or tap your e-reader! Huss’ known plot twists keep Mason and the reader guessing how Lyssa’s story will play out!
Short with a hint of darkness. Julie knows how to keep a reader on their toes while reading. Mason has one job, bounty hunt the corporate Princess. That’s until daddy dearest wants the princess to be tamed. The question is can Mason the bounty hunter tame a Wild Princess? But get ready for some jaw dropping moments because you won’t see that coming.
Wild Thing is Super Hot! Lyssa is a 25 year old “princess” that comes from a very wealthy family. Her dad hires Mason to kidnap her and bring her back home to marry someone she doesn’t love. Initially, these two fight like cats and dogs. She’s not the type of girl who is going to do what she’s told. Mason is determined to make her do things his way. After spending some time with her in a house purchased for her, he starts to realize things aren’t as they seem. I thoroughly enjoyed watching their back and forth banter and their sexy times, but I had no idea where the story was headed. Wild Thing is an easy, sexy, quick read. I definitely will be recommending it to my reading buddies.
This is a fun and twisted book in true JA Huss fashion. Mason is charged to kidnap Lyssa by her stepfather to bring her home. Little does Mason know that her stepfather have other “plans” for her. JA Huss keeps you wondering who are the sane ones until the end. I like that it keeps your attention and guessing until the very end. It can be read as a standalone so if you like JA Huss books you will like this one too.
I was very confused at first because I thought this book it was going to be sweet and funny and obviously hot. But it was hot but no so sweet.
The book take a turn for the dark side of life and It got me good.
The H/h were both very like able and I was so sad and confused at first with our heroine. She broke my heart.
I read the book in one sitting because I needed to understand what was happening and the explanation was worse that my imagination !!!
I have been really enjoying these short, sweet stories Julie has been releasing over the past few weeks. The first was sweet and very emotional, the second was sweet and very sexy, so I figured the third would be sweet and…something, but in typical Julie fashion, she threw a curveball at me with Wild Thing.
Yes, Wild Thing is about a girl who is pretty wild and her father needs someone to tame her down so he can get her married off as arranged, but this story doesn’t get anywhere near the “sweet and…” like the previous two books. Oh, there’s sweet moments inside, that occur between Mason and Lyssa, but this book has some dark overtones and is layered with confusing clues that Mason tries so hard to decipher so that he can figure out who Lyssa truly is. Is she really like the Wild Thing he saw in the club that very first time, or is she really a subdued, spoiled princess under her Stepfather’s thumb?
Prepare to go on a wild ride reading this book! Strap in tight, because the twists and turns come at you fast and furious!
Another great read by JA Huss. I’m calling this the “Thing” series lol. They aren’t super long stories but each had a GREAT hook that keeps you riveted. Lyssa is a wild, pampered socialite — at least that’s what she portrays to the world. But looks can be deceiving and what Lyssa is hiding whether knowingly or unknowingly is a dark, deep secret…one which she does her utmost to run away from. Mason is a bounty hunter…he only knows that he has a job to do…it’s nothing personal…it’s just money. What he doesn’t realize is that once he gets to know Lyssa, he starts to realize…what we already know…nothing is what it seems. (for the record, I can’t stop singing “Wild Thing, You make everything, groovy, I think I love you!” lol)
So this book took me kind of by surprise. I was expecting a sweet story about a wild girl and a reluctant bounty hunter that can’t say no to her. This book is so much more! I loved every minute of this story! Mason is the perfect combo of bossy and sweet! Perfect quick read with the right amount of twist! Loved it!!
Wild Thing starts like a classic steamy bodice-ripper, but it quickly morphs into something more. Something more like a psychological thriller with all the plot twists for which author J.A. Huss is known.
This installment of the author’s Naughty Things series is more naughty than nice (pun intended). It is narrated in a dual POV, and one narrator is not reliable! I will say that I was skeptical at the start, but having read most of the author’s work, I quickly discerned that there was much more to the story than one first believes.
Mason Macintyre is a bounty hunter in need of some big bucks fast. He takes the job of bringing home the wayward wild child (Lyssa) of a daddy-got-rocks. The “kidnapping” seems like a legit bring home the child situation until things get weird, as in a Twilight Zone meets Eyes Wide Shut sort of way. There is some kink, and there are some really sweet moments. Overall, there is a lot of crazy that takes some sleuthing to figure out. In the deducing and sleuthing, a Prince Charming is born–so to speak, and he needs a princess to save from a fiery dragon.
This ain’t your typical childhood fairytale, but perhaps a fairytale reimagined for a mature adult audience. Wild Thing is a quick and captivating read!
WOW is all I can say. Wild Thing has it all, it is super sexy and will keep you guessing the whole way through.
Mason is a bounty hunter turned kidnapper. He is the perfect sexy alpha just out to get the job done. Lyssa is the spoiled rich girl that is his new target. Everything is not what it seems with some twists and turns you will not see coming. Sit back and be entertained!
That moment when you’re wondering how long is going to last Julie writing sweet stories :)) And then this book lands in your lap. And then you’re thinking it’s just the name that gives you a thrill and hope and it will be yet another sweet story cus this is how this series is, right?!?! But surprise: we get a wild and naughty ride with a dark twist that I completely enjoyed. Ha!
I was reading through the other reviews and people were saying that they were not expecting this twist and they were after the sweet side. Well, that’s the beauty side when it comes to Julie, you never know what to expect. You just dive in, hold on and enjoy the ride. 5 wild stars!
Just when I think J.A. Huss can’t surprise me with a new twist in her writing, she goes and gives us Wild Thing! I guess I just expected a shorter book that has the heat and wit Huss is known for with an easy-going storyline to match. Oh but how foolish I was to think that. She delivers a sexy, albeit a bit crazy kind of romp that has an intriguing mystery attached to it that I could not put down.
This tale of Lyssa Baylor and the man who would turn her already unsteady world upside down had me at page one. Here I figured that Mason Macintyre would do what he was paid for, (for the record, so did he) and make sure that Lyssa was back in her mansion, getting ready to marry just like her stepfather wanted. But Wild Thing and the Princess Hunter never in a million years could have predicted they would fall for the other and in turn change both of their lives forever.
I just loved the way Huss crafted this story. It felt as if we were going along with Mason and dodging all the roadblocks right along with him as he finds the real Lyssa underneath all of her supposed out of control antics and begins to love the true woman she is.
Not to mention the jaw-dropping twist as to why Lyssa’s evil stepfather was so hell-bent on having her marry a man she didn’t want and living in the mansion she so desperately despised.
Lyssa’s spirit was something to behold and Mason was clearly the man who could really see her and let her be the wonderful combination of tender and fierce that she was. The myriad of emotions that are laid bare offer intense moments that are beautifully juxtaposed to the race against time to save Lyssa from a life of hurt and sorrow.
I thoroughly enjoyed the fast pace, the smart humor and the tenderness that is perfectly placed and appreciated. Lyssa and Mason are an unexpected pairing that in the end is exactly what the other both needed despite the surprises that keep coming their way.
Wild Thing, oh yeah I think I love you and happily give this book 5 stars!
Wild Thing by JA Huss is darker than the first 2 books of the Naughty Things series but It’s also packed with a lot of entertaining edge of your seat action. Bounty hunter Mason Macintyre has his hands full when he is hired to kidnap Lyssa Baylor. Her wealthy dad has plans to marry her off against her wishes to the son of a friend and gives Mason free reign to tame and break her any way he sees fit. Hmmmm…
This book had some uncomfortable moments in it that I won’t give away but left me squirming. It was not what I was expecting to read. At all. It had all the trademark JAH heat, romance and twist but it was the sharp edges in some parts that caught me off guard. Although those moments were infrequent they were unexpected and to some extent unnerving, in a holy-frigging-cow-what’s-that-about kind of way. So even though I should remember to expect the unexpected when it comes to JAH, I still didn’t expect it, which is a HUGE reason I enjoyed it as much as I did.
Wild Thing: I think I love you!!
Which brings me to the EOBS. My addiction was satisfied. The mantra that is swirling through my mind is JAH reserves the right to change her mind. She can do whatever she damn well pleases as far as I’m concerned. Bottom line when it comes to her books: If she writes them, I will buy them.
