Grabs your interest from the very beginning and then you just settle in and forget about any housework or plans you might have had for the day. For sure you’re not putting this book down until the very last page. Great read!!!
Great character development
Love, love, love this series. Some many interesting characters and stories – plus hot and steamy chemistry. There’s nothing more endearing than a guy who may think he never wants to have a family but put in the right situation has his protective side come out. And luckily Lochlan has some good role models to help him along the way.
I loved this book so much I am downloading all of he books in this series!
Good book
I love every book by Mari Carr! I’m loving this second generation of the family.
Loved this book. Great characters! I hated to see the book end.
Good
Excellent, couldn’t put it down.
An incredibly sexy, absolutely adorable love story with incredible characters and a wonderful huge Irish family everyone will want to be a part of! A great way to sneak away and spend a few hours alone!
May Flowers
by Mari Carr
I could not put the book down, once I started to read this book; it will grab the reader’s attention right from the start. Wonderful, well written characters, that grow and changed throughout the book. She is new to the job, as his very, qualified administrative assistant; wants to be taken seriously, not seen as just young or pretty; she solves her own problems, helps take care of her mother and two nieces, she has custody of; but, is barely keeping her family together, and needs this job. He is stubborn, sworn to never marry or have the K word (kids), and a bad-boy boss; the big alpha male type. He is happy running his own company and making millions; until the right woman came along that knocked him off his axis. There is something about her that is calling to him, as he goes into Viking protector mode. Oh, how the mighty fall; got-to love it! The perfect couple, Cinderella meets super-hot, sexy Irish man. I loved watching him fall so hard for her!!
Office romance is not one of my favorite story types; especially with the stereotypical boss and secretary falling in love, but this one I could not put down. This story sucked me in and kept me wanting to read more, waiting with baited breath to see how and if the male-leading character would pull out his happy ending. I especially enjoy the close family ties that she highlights, and Wild Irish story-line. There are equal parts that are admirable and irritating, in the story. I enjoyed this office romance, super sweet, super sexy and swoon worthy too. I can’t wait to see who is the next to fall for “the curse” or fall in love so hard if leaves bruise!!! The perfect mix of dominant/submissive, romance, drama and lots of laughs and love from all the family!
This is my first book to read by Mari Carr, make you feel like you are part of the journey and I cannot wait to read her the next book. This book hit all the spots in a romance story; a very protective and possessive alpha male with a strong, kind, and sweet heroine. Mari Carr needs a standing ovation!!! Thank you, Mari Carr; for giving us a wonderful book in Wilder Irish. Super sexy and fun book in a great series! Book five (I found out) in Wilder Irish series. Can be read and enjoyed as stand-alone, as I did. But, I am going to find the first four, and I see a marathon re-read coming on; reading this one again, in order. I received and invitation to read this book, in ARC form; in exchange for an honest and impartial review. Will have to give it 4.5-stars, well done. Another new author for me to read.
Mari Carr is one of my favorite authors. She never disappoints. This story is just super! I loved the characters. Lochlan and May really interested me and I enjoyed their getting toegther story.
I absolutely loved this book ! It was a remarkable book that included amazing characters as well as an amazing story line. I recommend that you read it. Also this was my first taste of this authors work as well and I am so glad that I came across their work.
I fell in love with the characters from the very beginning. Lochlan stole my heart so quickly, and May is just one of those female characters you want to be friends with.
The chemistry between these two is there since moment one, even though they wanna convince themselves there is no attraction there and that they have zero feelings for the other one. But since the connection the share is really strong, and both of them keep on demonstrating how remarkable they both are, soon they will give in. And oh my! Is all so hot that sparks fly out of the story.
A sweet and heartwarming story.
Lochlan owns a million dollar company and is about to get a new personal assistant. His PA that has been with him for years is retiring and while he was away on business, she hires May. May is young, raising her two nieces, and taking care of her mother plus living in a run down apartment. He feels an instant attraction but has a no dating policy in the company. But he’s the boss and can make up his own rules. Getting May to admit her feelings is like pulling a tooth. Can he get past her walls and let him in or will she let the best thing that has ever happened walk away?
Great story. A little BDSM, instant family, and office sex. A strong, independent woman and an sexy Irish man.
* Voluntarily read and reviewed this for Netgalley *
With it’s contemporary genre and mild BDSM scenes, this book is beyond the scope of what I typically read/enjoy. However, I’m a sucker for those protective heroes, of which Lochlan was definitely one. It was also refreshing to read a book in which the hero falls first and hard for the heroine. Lochlan’s willingness and determination to step up and take care of May and slay all her dragons for her was great and his family was wonderful too. I’d like to read their stories now, in fact. This was a really short book with gaps of several months between some of the chapters that could’ve been detailed, but somehow it worked here. I breezed through this one during a hurricane off day, so it’s a pretty quick one. This story was simple, extremely steamy and a quick read so if any of that appeals to you, I would recommend it.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC! All opinions are my own.
Mari Carr consistently writes terrific stories, combining organic emotional connection and palpable sexual chemistry. This is my first read in the Wilder Irish series, but I’ve read most of the Wild Irish series. The gaps in my reading did not take away anything from reading May Flowers.
Love Lochlan. He’s hot and ambitious, for sure, but I especially liked his capacity for self-examination and his willingness to embrace change. Not that he changed any fundamentals about himself, but he was willing to alter his life’s course when his situation became different rather than dig in his heels because “this is how I’ve always done it.”
May is a terrific character. I could feel the delicate balance she maintained between keeping all her responsibilities under control and letting things get away from her. She’s strong and determined, which makes it so satisfying to watch her consider letting Lochlan share her burden.
Most of all, I love the Collins family and loved this peek back into their shenanigans via this second generation. I’ll read about the Collinses as long as Carr keeps writing about them.
May Flowers by Mari Carr is book is book 5 in the Wilder Irish Series. This is the story of Lochlan and May. I have not yet read the previous books so for me this was easily a standalone book.
Lochlan has grown his business to be one of the richest one around and of course making him rich too. Although he has strong family roots he enjoys the playbook life. Then his assistant who is an older women who he adores says she is retiring hires May to take her place. May is a struggling women trying to raise her two nieces and take care of her mother who is starting to lose her mind to dementia…so her plate is full. But she needs the demanding job because of the great pay and she will try to work through her attraction with Lochlan. Lochlan fights he need for May becuase he has a big not fraternization policy but it only takes a couple of weeks before that goes out the door and he knows that May is the women that he has been looking for.
Loved their story…could not put it down. Will be looking for more books by this author!!
Oh, this book is awesome! I loved the marvelous writing. This tale hooked me from the beginning and kept me turning pages until the end. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book in exchange for a free copy.
