A really good romance with lots of heat.
I really enjoyed the way Lochlan and May learned about each other and then who they were together. May is hired to be his new PA by his retiring PA while he is away on business. He’s known Sally was going to retire, sometime, but then has her replacement ready and trained for him before he knows it. Well, there is a lot to accept.
The connection between Lochlan and May is impressive and then the passion just makes it hot!
This book is part of an extended series but it can easily be read as a standalone.

A well-written story that I enjoyed reading from cover to cover, once I started I was not putting it down until I had finished the book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Lochlan’s Assistant is retiring and every replacement she has interviewed is not good enough. She hires May to be his new PA. She’s young and he is so over his head with her! When he finds out about her family he goes into alpha protector. For a man who never wanted to marry or have children begins to sing another tune. Could their be something about May that will get this man to the altar?

This was a really good sweet romance and I really enjoyed it I am a huge fan of Mari’s so I could not wait to read May and Lochlan story and it did not disappoint it was well written and I was pulled right into the book with a good storyline and fantastic characters this is a must read and I would recommend it
Sometimes turning a tale on its head is beautiful. Lochlan is as stubborn as his mum, and as determined as his dad, and the combination is a beautiful thing that makes for a story that takes hold of your heart and doesn’t let go. And May is every part his equal.
A story that reminds us an apple never falls far from the tree.
I really cannot explain how much I loved this story! It has been a few years since I’ve read any of Mari Carr’s novels, I definitely see a marathon re-read coming on. This story hit all the spots that I love in a romance book, a very protective and possessive alpha male with a strong, kind, and sweet heroine. An office romance is not one of my favorite tropes especially with the stereotypical boss and secretary falling in love, but this one I could not put down.
May Flowers has a lot going on in her life. She is taking care of her mother and two nieces who are going through a tough time. May needs this job and she is working to the bone to keep them all afloat. Lochlan does not know this, his retiring administrative assistant (who he really did not believe was retiring) hired May to take over. Lochlan does not like this new change, especially going from a dependable older assistant to a beautiful soon to be 24-year old. It also did not help that he finds her attractive and he recognizes that she is a submissive. Lochlan is at the point in his life that he does not want any entanglements, he does not want the married life with kids or anything to do with the Collins curse, where they fall fast and hard, but this all changes once he finds out what May is going through. Lochlan is a warrior, he is a champion and protector and that is exactly what he was going to be for May and her family.
I loved this story so much! I loved watching Lochlan fall so hard for May. I felt so much for May and what she was going through at home, but she had such strength and I loved that she had someone who actually wanted to care for her. I am definitely going to want to re-read the stories of the prior generation and I can not wait for the next in the series! Definitely a must read.
