I really have enjoy this series so far.
This can be read as a stand alone but I highly recommend reading them in order, as an incident that occurred in a previous books is referred too here. I absolutely adored Alexis Smart, sassy and intelligent. Made me laugh out loud. Mason I wanted to smack a couple of times. Love all the other members of the team, I want to get to know them too. Brotherhood, sunken ship, mystery, steamy scenes. And all around good read. Thank you Sourcebooks Casablanca, thank you Julie Ann Walker, thank you NetGalley for the arc. I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions.
Loved it.
It has been a couple of years since I downloaded the first six (if I remember correctly) Black Knights Inc. books onto my Kindle and left for a vacation. I have been a fan since that day and I have loved Ozzie like that annoying little brother since the first book. This story, even though book 9 in the series, could be read as a standalone. But I think to get the essence of Ozzie, the kid he was, the fun and carefree man-child, and how he has grown, matured, and how that explosion that damaged his leg changed him, you should go back for at least a couple of books. Ozzie is worth it because he is just that lovable, loyal, beautiful, fun person inside and out. I was nervous about the book because my expectations were SO high for this story, but Ms. Walker delivered and delivered well.
Samantha and Ozzie’s chemistry has been sparkling since the very first time they met. They fit together, as the Wild Ride demonstrates, they really get each other. They have this connection that it seems like they can see into each other’s souls and just get the thoughts, feelings, and the pain and joy that is there.
If only Ozzie could be open and honest with her, and tell her who he really is and what he stands for.
The story is well balanced between the building of the physical relationship, on top of the friendship, Samantha and Ozzie have and the suspense and action that is lurking around them. The atmosphere is intense because of the secrets, the attraction, the misunderstandings, and the danger and threats just add to it, making it potent.
There are moments that were so real, so filled with malice that, that I felt it in my being (violence against women that might be a trigger to some).
There were moments of such brokenness from Ozzie, the inner thoughts of the happy-go-lucky man, that nearly broke my heart while tears were running.
There was fun, sexy, passionate, banter, and ribbing that made me smile. And there are the moments of cheer, joy, and happiness that made me swoon and sigh.
I missed the rest of men of the Black Knights, but Christian and Emily provided some interesting entertainment that made me look forward to their book to come out.
A riveting, entertaining, and an intense story filled with love, passion, danger, and peril. The larger than life Ozzie and sassy Samantha finally got their story, and it was worth the wait, with a perfect timing, I would say.

Wild Ride is the 9th book in the Black Knights Inc., series. It’s a Military Romance with a Friends to Lovers/Forbidden Trope. This is the story of the infamous Ozzie and Samantha.
Ethan “Ozzie” Sykes is a former U.S. Navy SEAL and now a Underground Special Operator for Black Knights Inc., they are well kept secret, covert team for the President of the U.S.A. disguised as a custom motorcycle shop. Ozzie was on a International mission that went black when a bomb went off and severely injured his leg. Now he is at BKI headquarters in Chicago, recovering and doing desk duty but itching to get back out in the field.
Ozzie has befriended a Chicago Tribune reporter, Samantha Tate, who has been trying to dig up dirt on the boys for years. At first he tried to distract her from getting to nosy, but now he is drawn to her gap tooth smile and enjoys her humor. Ozzie enjoys being her friend but wants to be much more and is fighting his attraction to her everyday.
Ozzie is tired of the lies and secrets and of hiding who he truly is. Can Oz and the team trust Samantha not to report her findings and be t
After the bare bones tour to get Samantha to back off of BKI, Ozzie and she became friends. Casual coffee and lunch dates. Time spent where they discovered they really liked each other, wanting more without saying anything.
That is until one of her informants turns up dead right after telling her where his gang was getting their guns from the Ballistics MC. Now they are after her and it is going to take some quick thinking to explain how Ozzie knows what he knows and how he is going to protect her. Maybe after he recovers from be tasered by her! That is if she will stop long enough for him to explain him was not and did not day he wanted to kill her. Just a little misunderstanding!
Another wonderful book in the BKI series. I so very much enjoyed reading this and following up on the other characters. Ms. Walker did a great job pulling all the pieces together and making it flow. Can’t wait for the next book.
Just another great page turned from Julie Ann Walker! I’ve read the entire series and I’ve loved them all!
Julie Ann Walker is a beast! One of my favorite writers and this series is one of my all time favorites!
The Black Knights series does not disappoint! Wild Ride is terrfic!
You can read this book as a stand alone but, you will get a better experience if you have followed the series from the beginning. A few of the characters from previous books have important roles in this book.
Ozzie and Samantha are adorable together. Their friendship is special to them and gets in their way when Ozzie becomes Samantha’s bodyguard. Their time together is truly the “wild ride.” It is fun, suspenseful and emotional.
This is a must read recommendation.
I have read this entire series and everyone of the books is spectacular. Some have you laughing but also on the edge to see what is going to happen next.
Great Author!
must read this series its steamy sexy heartfelt, love ,gritty, love this life !!
loved the book, got over to soon.
Wild Ride is book nine in the Black Knights Inc. series by Julie Ann Walker. Though this book could be read out of order I feel you should at least read Full Throttle first. A big life altering event happens in Full Throttle to affect our lead hero Ozzie.
I had a pleasant time reading Ozzie and Samantha’s story. It had action, mistrust, secrets, danger, and passion. Our leads had good chemistry and we get to see previous characters. I loved the banter between Ozzie and Christian. It was so much fun and Samantha showed that she could hold her own with Ozzie on the silly comments, 80’s bands, and more
I did have a few issues:
– First, that Ozzie and Samantha didn’t really talk honestly or openly until close to the last 20-25% of the book, having this happen made things drag. They could have wrapped up some issues sooner and since they didn’t it took away from the romantic relationship. At least in my eyes.
– Second and my main issue was Emily and Christian. I loved having them in the story, don’t get me wrong, secondary characters are great and gearing up for another couple even better, but so much page time was spent on these two instead of the main couple Ozzie and Samantha. And, to top it off the next book Fuel for Fire isn’t about Emily and Christian, it’s Dagan and Chelsea’s. Why waist so much page time on a couple that won’t have a book next?
Wild Ride was a delightful read in the Black Knights Inc. series and I do so love Ozzie.
