“I’ve heard that boys with motorcycles have less-than-noble intentions.”“Not a boy,” Beck said. “And you heard right.”Luna da Rosa is America’s Vegan Best Friend. The self-made billionaire is a flower-crowned hippie whose Instagram feed is as popular as Wild Heart, her vegan makeup company. When she’s not changing the cosmetics industry, she’s dazzling her online fans with kombucha recipes—until … she’s dazzling her online fans with kombucha recipes—until Wild Heart is caught in a scandal, destroying her reputation as a cheerful do-gooder.
Beck Mason is the prodigal son of Miami’s most notorious biker gang. But Beck left his criminal family to start Lucky Dog, rescuing dogs who need the most help… except the surly ex-outlaw never realized leading a struggling nonprofit with a ragtag crew would be so damn hard. They’re in dire need of cash—and fast.
Luna believes working at Lucky Dog will fix her image problem and get Beck the money he needs. It’s a win-win, right? Except Beck doesn’t like the sunny, free-spirited—okay beautiful—billionaire. He sure as hell doesn’t trust Luna not to use him just to make herself look good.
Sure, Beck’s grumpy, stubborn pride and meat-eating ways irritates Luna. Even though his big-heart-and-big-beard-combo is dangerously sexy. And they really shouldn’t have shared The Kiss to End All Kisses on the back of his motorcycle one night…
But as the bohemian billionaire and the burly biker give into their electrifying attraction, will their differences keep them apart? Or will they finally learn to trust their wild hearts?
Author’s Note: Big, grumpy, bearded hero. Happy-go-lucky hippie heroine. Snarky banter. Opposites that don’t so much attract as combust. Motorcycle sex. Steamy Miami nights. Four lady billionaire best friends. All the rescue dogs. Major heart-feels.more
A lovely story with a very good moral. Don’t lose yourself to the power and the money and to take good care of the world.
Beck and Luna are so great. Beck is a tough biker guy who rescues dog and Luna is a billionaire who needs good press cause of a business mistake. Sparks fly when there together but it a sweet slow burn. Can the differences be enough to keep them together. Great characters and storyline. Highly recommend. Love this series.
You know how you read some books and they just make you smile – this book is one of those! I felt all kinds of warm and fuzzy!
Kathryn is a one click author for me and stories like this are why. Luna and Beck’s story is not your average romance. It touches on some tough subjects but does it in a way that makes it feel real, rather than a lecture.
I loved their banter, the witty dialogue and the chemistry in this one was delicious. Add in fantastic supporting characters and you’ve got a really rich read. I definitely need to check out the other Bluewater Billionaires stories too.
I have no idea how to start this review. Honestly, I had to wait a full 24 hours before writing because I had to ponder, plus my heart misses Luna and Beck’s hearts. Really, I miss these two crazy kids.
There is so much to love about this story! Luna is a self made billionaire and she is CEO and the face of her cruelty free make up company. You all, she’s quite an oxymoron! When I tell you she’s a child of the earth, this rings true, if I told you she’s gone off her true path, I would also say it’s the truth.
Beck is our motorcycle riding, burly, bearded Hero, he was never really on a true path in the sense that his environment played a role in his own mistakes. But, Beck was lucky and able to reform his ways before there were serious repercussions. What happened in his youth was unfortunate, but serendipities at the same time because an experience opened his eyes to his life’s work.
What we have here is a story of two imperfect people who have made mistakes along the way, but there is redemption, there is always time to start over, and that’s beautiful and amazing as this story proves. The fact these two are just so in love from the start is the best thing about this novel. I love their love! It’s beautiful, spontaneous, dirty and fun! They are a firecracker on the 4th of July.
I can’t say much else except I really love this novel and the Easter Eggs there in! If you haven’t read this author before you’re in for a lovely read!
Grab this one! I’d like to give it a Billion stars!
Kathryn has quite a way with words, hearts and dogs. I fell in love with Luna and Beck and with every rescue dog.
Luna lost her way, Beck was still searching for a way to keep his dog rescue program going. This is the story of how those two people come together.
Of course, it isn’t easy and there are hurdles but the beauty of it all is an amazing journey to hea. I loved it.
I’m really loving this series. Wild Open Hearts does not disappoint. There is a stark difference in the main characters backgrounds but in the end relationships are all about love, trust, and compromise. I was in tears toward the end hearing about Willow the adopted dog rehabbed by Beck. All of my dogs and cats have been adopted so this book really touched my heart. It is a great story, fun to read, with a happy ending.
THE BEST READ OF 2019!!!!
Favorite Quotes:
“You’re my happy place, Beck Mason” -Luna
“Thank you for showing me love.” – Beck
Luna can put on a happy face like no other. She is facing a business catastrophe and its seems as if the world is against her, yet she still manages to smile and seek out the good in the world. In an attempt to repair her reputation and get back to her roots, she decides to volunteer at Lucky Dog. There she meets Beck Mason, and he is the polar opposite of Luna in most ways. The two find themselves at an impasse several times throughout the story and each time their desire for one another grows. Warning! This story may just melt your kindle.
Beck had a rough upbringing and less than stellar reputation. He is prideful and refuses to be pitied or used. There are not many people in the world that Beck opens up to or trusts, but there is something about Luna that calls to him, and he finds himself admitting things he rarely speaks about. As they get closer Beck struggles with feeling comfortable in Luna’s world, but Luna repeatedly surprises Beck with her wild open heart.
Aside from the amazing love story, Nolan set my soul on fire with the inner growth Luna and Beck both experienced. She also had me in tears over the rescue dogs. I have never been more compelled to try and make a change in the life of abandon dogs. *Make sure to check out the links after the story for information on real programs like the one Beck runs and ways to donate.*
Nolan packs a punch with the use of beautiful, poetic descriptors. She has this way of describing things that make them seem tangible. She puts you in the story, allows you to experience the story in a way that is so different from other authors. There are cameos from other characters Nolan has written and of course Emily, Cameron, and Daisy are ever-present in this magnificent read. I cannot say enough good things about this book. I love it!
They’re a Match!
Wild Open Hearts is magnificent! Luna and Beck glow together. They ignite the passion and vitality and humor and humanity in one another. As usual, Ms. Nolan gives us a sexy, slow burn like only she can. One that vibrates with longing and anticipation and then combusts with fervent, emphatic f*#@ing! The depth of connection is soul deep, which in turn manifests physically and emotionally. These two may not seem like an obvious pairing, but they’re definitely a match!
This book reminds us that we are not our mistakes. We have the power to regroup, refocus, learn to do or be better. If we are open to life’s wonder and keep our values at the forefront of our actions, then we are capable of extraordinary compassion and change. To quote Luna: “When we do good in this world, it doesn’t matter how small we believe it to be. Kindness ripples, has an impact long after our connection is finished.”
Wild Open Hearts is a stimulating, stirring love story that will make you want to love with an open heart and revel in the marvel of life.
ALL THE HEART EYES!!! I loved this book so much! I’ve only read one novella from this author before, and now I’m putting ALL THE THINGS on my TBR pile. This book was magic.
Luna da Rosa is a self-made billionaire, living in Miami. She is the owner, and the face, of one of the most successful makeup companies in the world, and they pride themselves on their cruelty-free, vegan products. But when the worst possible news breaks, and causes a major scandal for her, and her company, she’s not sure what she’s going to do. When it causes her to do further introspection into herself and her beliefs, she doesn’t like what she sees. So, in an effort to get back in line with herself, she decides to volunteer her time, and money, for a local non-profit.
Beck Mason is the owner and executive director of a nonprofit dog rescue, Lucky Dog. But, he comes from a criminal family, and his parents still run the local motorcycle gang. After serving time in juvie 20 years ago, he decided to change his life. He walked away from his family, and never looked back. But, his business is struggling, after losing some grant money, and he’s not sure how they’re going to get back on track. When Luna shows up as the benevolent benefactor, he’s not thrilled. His pride doesn’t like to take money from people he feels are using him, and Luna’s image is in a tailspin right now. Can he trust her to provide help, and funds, without trying to use the whole thing only to rehab her image?
Beck and Luna had chemistry like whoa, and I loved watching them dance around each other, and bicker at each other, until things exploded between them. Beck was a big, gruff, teddy bear, and Luna was like a flower child, vegan princess. They were such an opposites attract story, and being married to my own opposite, I adored watching all the ways they discovered they fit together. And how surprised they were every time they found another one.
The vagillionaires were just as amazing as they’ve been in the two prior books. I adore the amazing friendship between these 4 brilliant, amazing, successful women. They are true friends, who are always there for each other, no matter what problems come their way. Their brunches are epic, and I love how they eavesdrop on the romance authors the next booth over. It’s like a little bit of a wink at the reader and it’s great fun. Also, the employees, aka Beck’s chosen family, at Lucky Dog were awesome as well. They all had their special place in the operation, and they really functioned like a family business.
This book had so many feels, and had me in tears a couple times, even though I would still definitely classify it as a romcom. I really fell in love with Beck, and Luna, and all the amazing pups at Lucky Dog. This story was a total delight, and I can’t wait for the final book in this multi-author series!
About two years ago, I read a book called Bohemian by a fairly new author named Kathryn Nolan and became an instant fan. I haven’t read everything she’s written, because life, but I’ve pretty much loved everything I’ve read, so when I say this, know that it’s BIG.
I haven’t had a Kathryn Nolan book make me feel this way since Bohemian.
(If you haven’t read Bohemian, you need to get on that, like, now. You’re welcome.)
And this book made me FEEL.
In Wild Open Hearts, we have a man (Beck) who is desperately trying to separate himself from his past and a woman (Luna) who is tirelessly working to return to her roots. The author took these two and fitted them together flawlessly and then surrounded them with amazing friends that are really family who loved them unconditionally.
Add to that, some great comedic moments, ~ Daisy Carter-Kincaid: “Who do we need to stab for you today?” all the heat that we expect from a KN book (hellooooo, first kiss!) and a shelter full of adorable rescue dogs (that had me tearing up right from the start) and this one just ticked all my boxes.
I LOVE these characters. I LOVE this story. I LOVE that the author has incorporated a passion that we share (dog rescue.) I just loved it from beginning to end. I wanted to climb inside of this book and live there.
That’s all you’re getting from me. READ THE BOOK. Experience it. And you’ll see.
“Our time on this earth is too precious not to live with our hearts wide open.”
Beautifully nuanced
Kathryn Nolan has such a delicate way with words, every book she’s written has been poetically beautiful and Wild Open Hearts is no different.
Luna Da Rosa is the CEO of a billion-dollar makeup empire, she’s also a flower crown wearing vegan Instagram princess. But somewhere along the line she’s lost her authenticity, and when her company and reputation crumbles around her, Luna teams up with former bad boy biker Beck Mason at his dog rescue. Thinking she’s going to twirl in, take a few photos for her millions of Instagram followers cleaning dog pens and then twirl out again, Luna discovers a few things along the way about herself and about the grumpy Beck. Things are not always what they appear, with the dogs, with the rescue, and especially between Beck and Luna. Roads are rocky, kisses are sweet, sex is dirty, opinions can be changed, and appearances are deceiving when wild hearts are open.
Kathryn Nolan’s Wild Open Hearts is in my top ten for 2019!
Luna’s bright positivity is the perfect foil for Beck’s poor self-worth and occasional angry outbursts.
The back and forth banter is a ton of fun, especially when he hams it up as her bodyguard. The fun, sexy times are out of this world, trust me one specific scene is scorching HOT!
Wild Open Hearts is an amazing book, that reads a lot like Kathryn Nolan herself. Funny, sexy, and uplifting when needed!
Bad-ass, bearded, biker with a sketchy background meets flower loving, powerhouse, CEO/hippie – what could POSSIBLY go wrong?!? Nolan does it again bringing two vastly different characters together in a beautiful story. When Luna’s reputation goes down the drain, she has to do everything in her power to try to recover. Enter Beck Mason (swoon – who doesn’t love a bearded hunk on a bike). Can he be what saves her from total ruin, or is she going to help save him from a history that he cannot seem to outrun?
On top of two beautifully thought out and constructed characters, Nolan introduces us to a whole wave of new characters. Most importantly – puppies; and a villain I did not see coming! The heart of this book is about giving and strength. Giving to a greater cause, giving to save something, and giving to save yourself. Strength to overcome your past, the power to face obstacles, and the will to do better!
Wild Open Hearts is a great slow-burn and incredibly heartfelt. This is the first of the Bluewater Billionaire books that I have read – I am SO glad I started with Luna and Beck’s story. Kathryn Nolan never disappoints and now I cannot wait to dive headfirst into Bluewater!
Bluewater Billionaires are BACK! The third book in the beautiful installment by four amazing writers is written by none other than Kathryn Nolan.
Truth time – this is my FIRST Kathryn Nolan book and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Y’all, the moment I finished this book, I legit went and found EVERYTHING written by her and put it on my TBR because she hooked me in!
Now to the book. Luna is the beautiful billionaire at the heart of this book and man, she is everything! I love her beautiful open heart, her quirkiness speaks to my soul. I could never be a vegan, but man, if I could be, I’d totally be hitting up Luna for ALL THE SECRETS! Luna’s world gets rocked by a scandal that has her questioning who she is. And man, does it really suck you in and have you feeling all the feels for Luna.
Enter Beck. Growly, muscly Beck. This motorcycle riding, dirty talking, animal loving man. Oh how he melted my heart once his layers were peeled back. Luna is his complete opposite and their banter had me laughing! I love the way she could put this big guy in his place! And the slow burn of this romance literally melted me into a puddle.
Beck’s past isn’t all sunshine and rainbows, much unlike Luna – who is the personification of sunshine and rainbows. Bringing them together was like finding the rainbow at the end of a storm, it was everything. From the private beach to the bedroom, these two can make the fiercest of storms look like a drizzle. They literally SET THE WORLD ON FIRE!
I can’t say enough about Wild Open Hearts! Luna and Beck are right there at the top of my favorite couples list (sorry Cameron, but you’ve been dethroned). If you haven’t read the series, start with Emily in The Price of Scandal by Lucy Score, move on to The Mogul and The Muscle by Claire Kingsley. And then get your heart ready for this one! And don’t forget, a fourth book written by the amazing Pippa Grant will be coming soon!
Oh My Heart! I loved EVERYTHING about this! Luna and Beck were pure FIRE!
“His gaze informed me I was now playing with fire. Which was fine by me. I was a child of the earth, a worshiper of the natural elements. Fire didn’t scare me. Fire intrigued me.”
This is the third book in the Bluewater Billionaires series. While it can certainly be read as a stand alone, reading all of them enhances the story. In Wild Open Hearts Luna faces a travesty of lies that impacts her cosmetics company and forces her to re-evaluate values. In order to shine a positive light on Luna, it’s recommended she volunteer at Lucky Dog, a rescue non-profit on it’s last leg. Beck Mason is a bearded mountain of a man who hides from his past while creating a haven for rescue pups. At first you think these two are opposites and then as you learn their hearts you understand how well they match. I loved Beck’s first impressions of Luna, a rainbow billionaire floating around in flower crowns drinking kombucha. And to her, Mr. Mason is this grumpy hulk biker that grunts his way through a conversation. The elusive dance they do only creates an even more dramatic and sensual culmination. That first KISS!!
Between the lines of this love story lies such an significant message of values and self worth.
“When we do good in this world, it doesn’t matter how small we believe it to be. Kindness ripples, has an impact long after our connection is finished.”
The connections created in Wild Open Heart were beautiful. We see numerous ones – the Bluewater billionaires’ Emily, Cameron, Daisy and Luna, the family Beck creates at Lucky Dog with Elian, Wes and Jem, and the matches with the rescue pups. I couldn’t put this book down and in the end didn’t want it to end. So many feels!! Kathryn Nolan has such a lyrical way of writing, she pulls you in to this vibrant place and you won’t want to leave.
I LOVED THIS SO HARD! Ms. Nolan is my go to author for real honest romance. This story was perfect all the way around. Luna and Beck are just so flawed but fit each other so well. Their hearts are a match from the beginning they just needed to come around to the idea. They both are free spirits, both repressed by different things they need to get past so they can be happy together. I so loved the background story of this too, especially Lucky Dog! And the peek we get of two of this author’s previous couples from other books. Not to mention the comedy of the rest of the Bluewater Billionaires. The heat between them too, loved their organic chemistry! I find myself wanting to live in every world this author creates. Just hands down loved this book on every conceivable level!
I will admit this is the first book I’ve read in this series and then realized there were others before it. I loved this so much that I will be picking up the rest ASAP. This story has so much feel and truth and sucks you right in. I couldn’t stop. Luna and Beck are so different on the outside, but not so much on the inside. They are both searching for their better selves and even though it’s not what they would have expected or wanted, finding each other is exactly what they needed. You will not be disappointed with this!
I have been obsessed with the Bluewater Billionaires from the beginning, and Luna and Beck made me fall that much more in love with them! I couldn’t possibly adore this book more. I couldn’t put it down for anything once I started reading.
I felt like I was in the action from the very beginning. I was completely hooked from page one on. Kathryn Nolan is an absolute magician with words. Her writing is beautiful and poetic. And holy hotness does she know how to bring the heat. I could picture every scene and feel every emotion throughout this story. Her characters are completely captivating and complex. I loved that while there was a main conflict, there was also an internal personal conflict for both characters that drove them to grow and develop throughout the story.
Beck and Luna are perfection. Who doesn’t want a grumpy gentle giant who rescues dogs? Beck’s rough exterior may have been intimidating to some, but I love the way Luna was able to see through to his heart of gold. He is so freaking sexy. I loved watching his layers peel back slowly throughout this story! And Luna couldn’t help but make me smile. While she was struggling to get back to the person she wanted to be, I loved that she evaluated her beliefs and took a stand for what she believed in.
The push and pull between these two built their relationship perfectly. Not only was it completely believable, the anticipation had me on the edge of my seat waiting for their moment to come. I wanted them together so bad! Not only was their chemistry off the charts, they are just so good for each other. And when they did have their moment, it was everything.
There are few authors who are able to write as beautifully as Kathryn Nolan while still bringing all the feels and the heat. She truly has a gift, and this book is simply the latest piece of evidence. This is an absolute must read you don’t want to miss! I can’t wait to see what’s up next both from Kathryn, and the Bluewater Billionaires.
This book was so fun to read. Upbeat and happy, this story flirts with its readers and made me smile uncontrollably. We meet Luna, the billionaire owner of a cruelty free, vegan cosmetics company, and Lucky Dog owner Beck Mason, who runs a non-profit dog rehab company. They seem to be opposites, but we know the old saying, don’t we?
Luna exudes sunshine everywhere she goes, making everyone laugh and smile no matter how grumpy they are. Soon, Luna and Beck are connecting over their love of dogs and motorcycles.
“Fun wasn’t the word for what happened next. We were a sleek, streamlined body in space, hurtling down a highway toward Biscayne Bay. I was half-convinced we were going to crash, half-convinced we were going to take flight. If I’d grown wings and shot straight into the sky I wouldn’t have been more ecstatic. I kept laughing against Beck , my hands gripping him hard. His muscular ass was cupped between my legs and every few minutes I shuddered and sighed as those vibrations pushed me closer and closer toward orgasm.”
They both go on a hysterical chase for a stray dog, making the two of them even closer.
“Are these rescues usually filled with this many wacky hijinks?” Luna asked. ”
Nolan clearly has a love of dogs and adventure, and it comes through her writing. While there is bad news to deal with, Luna is a positive person who helps Beck find his purpose. I even loved Luna’s friends and Beck ‘s co-workers (who really need their own sitcom).
The only part that I didn’t care for is the way Luna ignored Jasmine’s calls and dismissed her concerns harshly. I get it…Luna didn’t want to do anything that might go against her principles or use Beck. But I thought it was dismissive to do that. I think Jasmine should have been fired a long time ago, but I could see towards the end why Jasmine got so frustrated and did the wrong thing. But it wasn’t enough to ruin any part of the book for me. Just an observation.
I also loved the talk of wealth and women. Nolan makes great insightful phrases.
“I had never used to care about things like mansions and infinity pools and personal security. But becoming a billionaire had literally expanded all of the areas in my life. It was only natural to grow into them. And I’d resented his insinuation I should be ashamed— men had been allowed to flaunt their excessive wealth since the dawn of time.”
She includes some wonderful humor in it as well.
“My three best friends are also billionaires,” she said. “We wanted a place that was for us. We wanted to be neighbors so we could see each other all the time. Daisy, who’s a real estate mogul, created a design that was pretty epic. So now we live with a bunch of weird and kooky rich people.” She smiled. “At the end of the day, the four of us at least have each other , to listen when we’re victims of misogyny or harassment or manipulation from our male peers . Friends help. Feeling safe helps.” Luna leaned in like she was sharing a secret. “Also we accidentally designed the bay that our four houses face to look like a uterus.” I coughed around my coffee. “You’re serious?”“Totally,” she said. “And our street? It’s one of the ovaries.” I laughed for real, releasing a day’s worth of odd tension. She giggled, sitting back against the couch. “I’m not joking. I live on a street shaped like an ovary with my three best friends. As you know, celebrating the beauty of the female form is a priority of mine.”
And I can’t forget the foul mouthed parrott Frank. We all need one in our lives. The book was a wonderful book full the power of women and dogs. Together, anything is possible.
Luna Da Rosa’s instant attraction to the broody, growly ex-motorcycle club member and now owner of Lucky Dog shelter, was almost as intense as my own. This author knows how to write the best alpha heroes, and she really outdoes herself with Beck Mason.”
When a scandal hurts this self-made billionaire and her cruelty free make-up line, things start to spin out of control.
She owns up to the mistake, but starts to realise that her core values were lost along the way.
Now, she is trying to right her wrong, and get back on track with what she truly believes her mission to be.
One way of doing that, is by volunteering at Lucky dog. A campus that takes in stray dogs and rehabilitates them to be adopted out to a loving family.
They are poorly underfunded and desperately need money to keep their doors open.
Beck Mason, is know to have ties to the Devil’s motorcycle club. His parents run it.
He got out and wants to keep it that way.
When Luna ends up at the shelter, he doesn’t trust her. He doesn’t want what he’s worked so hard for to be used for her own personal gain.
When Penelope, a dog they have both been feeding, ends up at the shelter, Beck can see there is a trust between them and concedes to let her volunteer, but makes sure that she understands that they don’t need her Pity or to be used for her own personal gain.
This is a steamy, story of trust and finding your way back to your core values.
Kathryn Nolan, has out did herself in this novel.
It has all the feels and the happy ever after for not only stray dogs and their humans, but for these two beautiful human beings that help each other to find peace in a world that had turned their back in them.
I’m looking forward to the last book in this series.
What exceptional authors and their billionaire stories.
