“I’ve heard that boys with motorcycles have less-than-noble intentions.”“Not a boy,” Beck said. “And you heard right.”Luna da Rosa is America’s Vegan Best Friend. The self-made billionaire is a flower-crowned hippie whose Instagram feed is as popular as Wild Heart, her vegan makeup company. When she’s not changing the cosmetics industry, she’s dazzling her online fans with kombucha recipes—until … she’s dazzling her online fans with kombucha recipes—until Wild Heart is caught in a scandal, destroying her reputation as a cheerful do-gooder.
Beck Mason is the prodigal son of Miami’s most notorious biker gang. But Beck left his criminal family to start Lucky Dog, rescuing dogs who need the most help… except the surly ex-outlaw never realized leading a struggling nonprofit with a ragtag crew would be so damn hard. They’re in dire need of cash—and fast.
Luna believes working at Lucky Dog will fix her image problem and get Beck the money he needs. It’s a win-win, right? Except Beck doesn’t like the sunny, free-spirited—okay beautiful—billionaire. He sure as hell doesn’t trust Luna not to use him just to make herself look good.
Sure, Beck’s grumpy, stubborn pride and meat-eating ways irritates Luna. Even though his big-heart-and-big-beard-combo is dangerously sexy. And they really shouldn’t have shared The Kiss to End All Kisses on the back of his motorcycle one night…
But as the bohemian billionaire and the burly biker give into their electrifying attraction, will their differences keep them apart? Or will they finally learn to trust their wild hearts?
Author’s Note: Big, grumpy, bearded hero. Happy-go-lucky hippie heroine. Snarky banter. Opposites that don’t so much attract as combust. Motorcycle sex. Steamy Miami nights. Four lady billionaire best friends. All the rescue dogs. Major heart-feels.more
When Kathryn Nolan writes a book she puts her whole heart on full display. From the moment you open the first page you are invested. You are hooked, lined and sinkered. There’s so much goodness and truth in this story. It makes it hard to know where to start to write a cohesive and encompassing review that makes sense so I don’t ramble. Forgive me if I do.
Wild Open Hearts is exactly what the title suggests. It’s a story that bares open every aspect of two individuals lives for the whole world to see. There’s nothing that can be hidden, even if they would like it to be. Luna and Beck are on a journey both publicly, professionally and personally. Both are trying to figure out the best course for every area of their lives. Meanwhile, each one is questioning their own values, motives, life and truth. Each one trying to decide if they’re worthy.
Of all the aspects of this book one of my favorites is the truth of this story. What do we really see when we look at someone? Do we believe what we read? Do we have the ability to see beyond what’s in front of us? Do people deserve a second chance? Can people change? Do we really ever change? Can we get beyond our own insecurities? Are we willing to go out on the proverbial limb to do what’s right no matter the consequence? These are just some of the questions brought to light in this beautiful book. Aside from all this another question came into my mind. What is romance? Romance is individual and can come at you in all different forms. To me romance is when someone does something that makes someone feel special, comfortable, tingly, wild. It can be anything that someone does for you that you can’t help but feel that feeling. It doesn’t have to be flowers, romantic dinner, or a sunset cruise. It can be a special beer you like, going to a place you wouldn’t normally go but you do because it’ll mean something. Romance is whatever it means to you.
I can’t speak enough about the beautiful way this author writes. Her words always bring a smile to my face, speak to my heart and make me think. One of my highlighted areas in the book,
“Extraordinary women generally make the choice that’s right and not always the choice that’s safe”.
This quote speaks to the integrity of the story.
As if all this weren’t enough, the secondary characters are fabulous as well as hearing from people from past stories. Within this book you’ll get all the feels you’re hoping for and so much more. The motorcycle scene is worth the read alone! I promise your motor will be revved. Not going any further your need to read this book. I’ve rambled much too long.
Kathryn has served up her heart out on a plate for you to enjoy. I would suggest you dive in, ingest and savor every moment of this beautiful story.
P.S. – Please don’t stop at the end of the story. Read the author’s note. It says so much!
Wild Open Hearts is Kathryn Nolan at her best. This story is everything I love about her writing. There’s humor and wit, there’s off the charts heat, and there’s a “real” feel throughout. Her characters are people I can identify with, and Ms. Nolan’s words pull me into their world in a way I thoroughly enjoy. I can’t say enough about how wonderful this story is, and how much I’m looking forward to more of the Bluewater Billionaires!
“Our time on this earth is too precious not to live with our hearts wide open.”
Another swoon worthy installment in the Bluewater Billionaires series!
Wild Open Hearts is book 3 in the series but can be absolutely read as a standalone.

If you like your romance witty and swooney with a side of steam, you will want to pick us this book ASAP!
Wild Open Hearts is all about overcoming adversity both personal and professional. The biker and the hippie. They come from world’s so far apart that they’re not even in the same solar system. Yet, they find common ground and love amidst strife. Something so special it might be other worldly. Falling in love was easy. Staying in love and surviving the manipulations of others takes a lot of work. She’s light to his dark and together they are powerful.
Beck Mason walked away from a life of crime and violence more than two decades ago. He never knew love until he met a dog named Willow. He’s finally created something good and strong in his life, Lucky Dog. Now he needs to take the next step overcome his insecurities and the negative voices in his head and become the leader he needs to be to make his business grow and thrive.
Luna da Rosa was raised as the quintessential hippie with lots of love. She was instilled with a consciousness of the environment, the animal kingdom and humanity. She turned her upbringing into a powerful empire but somewhere along the way she lost her vision of who she was and what she wanted to accomplish in her business and her life. One misstep and it all starts tumbling around her. But, in rebuilding she gets back to her roots, to who she really is.
This story of second chances and finding the one that was meant to be will rock you to your core. Kathryn Nolan has outdone herself with this book, and continues to grow stronger as a writer. Her words and characters are so raw and real that you will be emotionally involved with this book. It truly was amazing.
Luna and beck. They meet in unfortunate circumstances and trust is hard to come by. They have to work closely together and their chemistry is off the charts. Together, they take care of a dog that they both fall in love with. Together, they find out what it means to get a second chance and how to get over the past and realize the future is right in front of you.
This book might just be my favorite of 2019! It has former Biker, bad boy Beck who now rescues Dogs and rehabilitates them and pairs them with their perfect human. Then you have Luna, open, loving, hippie by nature billionaire. This is just a recipe of a book that calls to my soul. It’s so beautifully written, I felt like I was hanging out at Lucky Dog right along side them. The Chemistry between Beck & Luna is undeniable, and the heat between them will burn your fingers from holding the book! This book has it all, angst, love, danger, sweet animals and real world people! If I could give it more than five stars I would!
What an absolutely gorgeous book!! It is filled with love and deep affection for both people, animals and the world around us and is a ray of sunshine for the mind and heart.
With the theme of the series, the reversal of the distribution of wealth from the male to the female, Wild Open Heart brings the beautiful Luna and her shy gentle giant, Beck. Kathryn Nolan infuses this book with hope and optimism, creating a world I want to live in..in fact a world I hoped to live in in my young days of hippiedom. Filled with people and animals whose place in society is uncertain, but who have so much to give, this romance also underlines why so many of us love the person who doesn’t quite ‘fit’ and the dog who needs a forever home.
Wild Open Heart is a beautifully written book which adds to the Blue water Billionaire series with style and confidence. Just wonderful!
Beck and Luna’s story is the third book in the Bluewater Billionaire series but can be read as a standalone. Beck is a gruff biker with a heart as soft as a gooey marshmallow and Luna is a hippie with an incredible drive to succeed.
I loved Beck and his big animal loving heart. I enjoyed reading as he gained confidence in himself and his value and realized that he is worthy of love in return. Luna embraces things going badly in her life much better than I would, and there is a lesson in that. I loved reading as she returns to her core values, centers herself on her distinct mission, and finds love and personal happiness along the way.
The author does an excellent job depicting the journey each character must travel alone in order to be ready for their partnership with each other. It is a solid reminder to never quit working on ourselves, to listen to our inner voice for direction, and to love each other’s imperfections as well as each other’s strengths. As always, Ms. Nolan writes scenes steamy enough to melt my kindle as she is the master of the slow burn leading to uncontrollable combustion. It is enjoyable as when the characters come together in this way as it always moves their relationship forward by demonstrating trust an the lowering of emotional walls.
I highly recommend this book and this series that turns the billionaire trope on it’s head by giving the women the money and the power.
Another great story! I am not very familiar with Kathryn Nolan’s books but I’m really digging the way the 4 authors have done with the series.
3.75 stars
This is the first book I have read by this author, and I enjoyed it for the most part. There were just a few parts of dialogue I didn’t really care for. Luna and Beck have both been dealing with some struggles in their lives, both professionally and personally. Luna is very open and Beck trusts rarely. Can these two opposites find a way to help each other reach their goals? Will love be enough or will mistrust win?
Wild Open Hearts by Kathryn Nolan, the third book in the Bluewater Billionaires series, is a contemporary, workplace romantic comedy told in first person, dual POV. This series takes the billionaire trope and reverses it so that instead of the typical billionaire hero, all the books feature billionaire heroines – four smart, strong, powerful women who are also best friends.
In Wild Open Hearts, we meet Luna da Rosa, founder/CEO/spokesperson of Wild Heart Cosmetics and co-founder of the exclusive Bluewater community. Kindhearted, eco-conscious, vegan hippie, Luna, is a brilliant businesswoman and innovator. When her cruelty-free company is exposed in an animal testing scandal, her reputation is ruined and Wild Heart’s future success is in jeopardy. Luna’s PR team suggests that she donate and volunteer at a charity to fix her image and regain public trust, and her mentor proposes that Lucky Dog non-profit would be a good fit.
Beck Mason, executive director of Lucky Dog, is a tough, surly, meat-eater with a heart of gold. Son of infamous parents who head Miami’s most notorious biker gang, Beck left his criminal past and started over by founding a nonprofit dog rescue and rehabilitation center. But Lucky Dog is in trouble. They just lost their largest source of funding and if they don’t find a way to bring in some large donations, they’ll have to close within the month. Despite an intense attraction, Beck’s not interested in being used to fix the “rainbow” billionaire’s image, but the publicity could save Lucky Dog. He may be grumpy, but Luna can tell that underneath it all he has a HUGE heart (among other things).
Will Luna and Beck give in to their chemistry? Can two people from such different worlds be right for each other? Or is a relationship doomed to fail? Will Luna succeed in saving her public image? Will her involvement at Lucky Dog raise the funds that Beck needs to keep the doors open? Read and find out!
I loved Luna and Beck’s story! They were both very likeable and well-crafted characters. I found it easy to connect with them and root for their happy ending. Their banter was fun and their chemistry was scorching hot. I’m enjoying this series so much! Looking forward to Daisy’s book next. This story where opposites attract was sexy, romantic, heartwarming, and fun. Highly recommended!
All the stars in the sky for Kathryn Nolan and Wild Open Hearts! Luna and Beck are a breath of fresh air in this beautifully written romantic comedy that forces you to take a good look at how you perceive the world. It was such a pleasure to watch these two grow as individuals and as a couple.
Love is such a wonderful thing and something we all take for granted. Imagine not having it, what does your world look like then? I would imagine it’s not such a great place anymore. The first word that comes to mind is lonely. One of my favorite things about this book is Lucky Dog rescue. Dogs are some of my favorite people, so to find out that Beck saves them? SWOON!!!
We have all heard, never judge a book by its cover. The same can be said for people. Luna and Beck both deal with this, and it’s disheartening. People see what they want to see and can be so judgmental. For instance, Beck being judged for what his estranged parents are into. Luna being judged so harshly for another business’ sins, and her life being picked apart because of it. Which leads to, we all deserving of second chances.
I could keep going about all of the lessons in this one lol. I want to be besties with Luna, Beck and all of their wonderful friends. I loved this book! Definitely going in the reread pile!
I loved this book! This is the third book in the Bluewater Billionaires series that centers around four female Billionaires. Luna De La Rosa, professed hippie and vegan, is a self-made billionaire who founded her vegan and cruelty free cosmetics company. When she finds out that one of her suppliers tests on animals, her and the company’s reputation takes a hit. To help repair some of the damage, she decides to work with Lucky Dog, a struggling dog rescue run by Beck Mason. Beck grew up as the son of the leaders of a criminal Motorcycle gang. His childhood was filled with chaos and violence and he was expected to take over from his parents. When he was in Juvenile detention, he was put into a program where he had to train a dog who had been abused. This turned his life around, he turned away from his family and dedicated his life to saving animals. These two are opposites in many ways; she’s a vegan, he’s a meat eater; she has her MBA, he is a high school drop out. But they are alike in one major way, they both have big hearts. Beck made this book for me, he was a lot like his dogs, damaged, afraid to trust. The development of their relationship was really enjoyable. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series.
Wild Open Hearts is the first book from this author and what a great book to start with. I absolutely loved Luna and Beck so much! Luna is just amazing, not only was she one of the youngest billionaires in the country but she also has this beautiful heart. When a scandal breaks in her company, she was horrified with what she had allowed to happen and tried to immediately apologize and remedy the issue. She owned up to her mistakes and was determined to restore to her former beliefs. Beck was just as impressive, but on a different level. He had the fortitude to alter his life and his upbringing and walk away from an inevitable criminal life. He is now the executive director of the Lucky Dog, a non-profit dog rescue. Although he is grumpy as all heck, the drive to save and rehabilitate these dogs that have not had the best life, definitely puts him in the swoony category. And he rides a motorcycle! How could I not adore this man!
The initial feelings Beck had towards Luna was not the greatest, he did not trust her and did not want to be used. But Luna, desperately needing to repair her image, and then to witness the magic of this organization, was determined to help and provide the financial assistance they so needed.
I loved their relationship so much, it was on the slow burn side, but the chemistry and banter was intense and steamy! They are complete opposites but exactly what they needed.
This third installation in the Bluewater Billionaires was another winner, the relationship between these 4 amazing ladies makes me wish I had a group of friends like these. I can not wait for Pippa Grant’s take on Daisy!
What a read!! This was my first book by Kathryn and I am thoroughly impressed!! Wild Open Hearts was full of desire, laughs and tears! Make sure you have some tissues handy.
Who doesn’t go crazy for a man who loves dogs and motorcycles??
Beck was an ordinary guy with a vision. He wanted to give back what was given to him; a dog saved his life and he wanted to help save them. Lucky Dog was a non-profit dog rescue that was on the brink of closing until Luna became part of the family. But was Luna helping for the right reasons?
Luna was a fun loving, bohemian, billionaire, vegan! She believed she was living her core values until one mistake had everything turned upside down. People no longer thought she was as good as she claimed to be, it didn’t matter that she made an honest mistake; to the public she was a fraud!
As part of her image recovery, she partnered with Lucky Dog. Not only would it help improve her image but it would get Lucky Dog back in the black.
Sparks fly between Beck and Luna but are they too different to make it work? Will Beck fall into his old ways and only see the bad? Will Luna be able to hold onto the best thing that has ever happened to her??
What a wild ride!! So many emotions! I was swooning one second and had tears streaming down my face the next! Seriously, have the tissues handy for both happy and sad tears! I loved every second of this book!!
I started reading Bluewater Billionaires because Claire and Lucy are two of my favorite authors! This entire series so far has been nothing short of amazing! Each woman has had her own set of strengths and has set a bar for what each and every woman deserves and what they should strive to be!
Loved, loved, loved. Fun, flirty, heartfelt perfection. Opposites do indeed attract.
If you love Kathryn Nolan’s writing you are going to adore this book. This is quintessentially Kathryn with a lovable, spunky, hippie heroine that you can’t help but love. Luna, is a safe made billionaire with a cruelty free, vegan cosmetic line. When news breaks that the company she is working with tests their products on animals, Luna’s company and reputation are ruined.
To get back to her true beliefs and help her reputation, Luna starts volunteering with Lucky Dog an animal rescue and rehabilitation center. She meets gruff Beck who runs Lucky Dog. With his parents being the head of the most notorious MC in Miami it didn’t look like a great choice to help redeem her image, but Luna finds an giant teddy bear under his exterior.
Watching these two complete opposites fall in love over their shared love of rescue dogs is so beautiful. Beck is one of the most swoony heroes you will ever read. I definitely recommend this book to everyone.
I loved Beck and Luna’s story! That first kiss was the first kiss to end ALL first kisses. I loved Beck’s love for dogs and in turn, Luna’s as well. This book was all about love, steamy scenes and learning to trust.
From the first line of Wild Open Hearts, I smiled. This book was so cleverly written and included so many scenes and chapters that I could personally relate to. I loved it. Every page. Although I never met the author Kathryn Nolan in person, I feel as if I know her from her interactions on social media. She, just like Luna da Rosa our heroine, are both adventures, accepting of all people, fiercely loyal, animal lovers and dog rescuers, a bit on the eccentric side, and hard working professionals.
Bohemian was my favorite book of hers, but Wild Open Hearts has taken over that spot and is now consumes my heart. I loved all of the clever descriptions, the character growth and development, and how very real and relatable this book was. The writing flowed and flowed, and made me feel every emotion.
I loved how Kathryn channeled her relationship with her three friends in real life when writing scenes of Luna with her Bluewater besties, Emily, Cameron, and Daisy who are featured in their own standalones in this series. I read the first two books, The Price of Scandal by Lucy Score and the Mogul and the Muscle by Claire Kingsley as well, and recommend them wholeheartedly. I love that they feature brilliant badass successful women who stand by and support each other, as well as have morals and values, and who give back. In order for me to give a five-star review I have to admire the heroine and relate to her, and with Luna and the other female leads, I do, I do, I do!
In the third book of this series, Wild Heart, the eco-friendly and cruelty-free billion-dollar makeup company that she founded is faced with a scandal. She is at a crossroads, and I applaud her for how she remained steadfast and committed to telling the truth without compromising her values. A true testament to her character. Although many think I read full-time for a living (LOL), my paying job is doing public relations, mainly for non-profits. I especially enjoyed reading how her PR Director provided counsel as she needed to gain the trust back of the consumers, her board, and her fellow business associates.
I was raised with the notion to do what’s right even when no one is looking, and that is why I fell in love with Luna so hard. She didn’t take the easy road; she took the high road. The one led by her heart and conscious…and it led her to our very burly, brooding, bike-riding, bearded hero and the love of her life, Beck Mason.
Oh Beck. I just want to give him a giant hug (and not just to feel his giant muscles.) He is co-founder of Lucky Dog, a non-profit shelter for abused dogs where they are rehabilitated and adopted into safe, loving homes. He is dirt poor, without a formal education or high society social skills, and the estranged son of criminals, the leaders of a local motorcycle club. Even with all of these strikes against him, Luna wasn’t pretentious and was intrigued. She not only was physically attracted to him, she saw the good in him and in all people. She wasn’t judgmental and immediately pitched in to help, not just financially, but with her own blood, sweat and tears. Her commitment made Beck question everything…is she too good to be true, or was she just there to polish up her very tarnished image?
There are so many things I loved about this book and believe me, I could go on for hours, but the character development was most special to me. Luna and Beck both realized the mistakes they made in many areas of their lives and were determined to make things better. They were honest and open with their feelings, and even though they often felt uncomfortable or went against the norm, they forged their own path, which led to their very own, well deserved happily ever after.
On a side note: I really enjoyed reading the cameos from Kathryn’s books Strictly Professional and Behind the Veil! And how the four real-life co-authors of the Bluewater Billionaire series are interjected as characters during the Drag Queen Brunch. Especially love the author with the “blue glasses!” So fun to read!
There’s so much I want to say about this book. I hope you bear with me and read all of my review.
I say this with every review for this author, but you never just read a Kathryn Nolan book, you experience it…you FEEL it. It will take you on a beautiful journey through the life of some very endearing characters. While this book is part of the Bluewater Billionaire series, it is still a very quintessential Kathryn Nolan book. This book and these characters will captivate you and enthrall you from the very beginning. While part of the story is about a billionaire woman, the essence of the story is about the value of people no matter their net worth. This storyline probably struck more of a chord with me, because lately I’ve been struggling with my value. My value in the romance book/blogging community, my value with people in my life, my value with what I do. There were moments I had to stop reading because of the tears running down my face. There are moments that will pull at every heartstring that you have, that will have you wanting to reach through the screen of your ereader or the pages and just wrap these characters in a hug and tell them that you value them too. There are moments that you want to throw all your money at Beck to help him rescue all the dogs. There are moments that you want to hunt down all the trolls on social media. There are moments that will make you stop and think about mistakes made and how you and others move on from them. All of these moments and so many more make for a beautiful story.
On top of just a beautiful story is the romance. This book would still be amazing even without the sexy times. That in no way dismisses the steaminess of this book. This author is one of the best when it comes to the heat and electricity of the sexy times. After some of the scenes you will need a moment to yourself. These two are explosive together.
As for the characters themselves, you will be rooting for both of them from the start. There are many side characters that you will be rooting for too. Both Beck and Luna are strong in their own unique ways. They are also vulnerable and have huge hearts. They both want to make a difference in this world. They both want to do better and be better, and isn’t that something we should all strive for? When you first meet Beck, he is a grumpy as they come. There is just something I love so much about grumpy men that when you peel back the layers has so much depth and such a heart of gold. Luna is a free spirit and so likable. You just want to be friends with her. Together as a couple they are just perfect.
Now that I’ve gushed about this book, teared up writing this review, and spilled my guts about my personal life, let me give some basics. This book is a complete standalone. It is part of the Bluewater Billionaire series but each book is about a different couple with interconnected characters. The unique thing about this series is that all the female lead characters are the billionaires. The women are the ones that are successful…the ones ruling the empire. The men are no slouches in their areas, but it is nice to finally read about successful women this way. The series is also written by four different authors. They each bring their own uniqueness to the series, but work together to make it flow seamlessly. I encourage you to check out each of the books. Even if you haven’t read the others…and whether or not you plan you…you definitely need to read this one. You will come away from this book with more than when you began reading it. Read this book…read everything by this author. You will be glad you did.
