The brother known as Hound has a reputation. He’s all about cracking heads, having a good time, and when the Chaos Motorcycle Club needs someone to do the tough job, they call on him.But Hound has a secret. He fell in love with a woman years ago. She’s untouchable. Unattainable. And even when her status changes, for Hound, it remains the same.Keely Black had it all early and lost it all not long … lost it all not long after. Thrown into an abyss of loss and grief, she’s faced a life of raising two sons alone and battling the rage at all that had been ripped from them.
And why.
Words spoken in anger open Hound’s and Keely’s eyes. For Hound, he sees he’s wasted his life loving the wrong woman. Keely sees she’s wasting her life not opening herself to the love of a good man.

Loved this book and would recommend reading this to anyone who like bikers, motorcycles, romance, sex, and hot men!
When Kristen Ashley warned her readers to brace for Hound’s story, I braced, and as Hound kept his feelings locked up tight for his brother’s wife and then widow, I struggled to understand why he didn’t try to find his own happy…find a way to move on from the one woman who would never truly be his. But, as the years went by and Hound continued to have Keely, Jag, and Dutch’s back in all the ways that mattered, it was made clear that it would only be Keely for Hound, and if he couldn’t have her the way he wanted to, he would have her and her boys any way he could.
I have to be honest…until I heard Keely’s side of things…her struggles, her acceptance, her thoughts and feelings about Black, about Chaos, about her boys, and about Hound, I felt like she was using Hound and I felt like it was only a matter of time until Keely broke Hound completely, forcing him to cut ties with one of the only two families he’s ever really had.
But the further I read/listened to Hound and Keely’s story, the easier it was to see that together, Keely and Hound could ‘ride wild,’ ‘burn bright,’ and ‘tear it up’ and Kristen Ashley illustrated that fact so vividly that regardless of the battle this couple would have to fight in order for Hound to truly claim Keely as his ‘old lady,’ they would get there…side by side…with ‘their’ boys at their side, and hopefully, Hound’s brothers at their back.
Throughout the entire Chaos series, I’ve seen Hound as Chaos’ Enforcer…the biker willing to bleed Chaos blood for his brothers…the man who shields his club from as much blowback as he can and protects those he loves with every part of himself. In Wild Like the Wind, though, readers get to know who Shepherd Ironside is, and let me tell you as much as I love Hound’s sexiness and badass alpha attitude, the man underneath the biker is EVERYTHING, and while he definitely says and does things that he regrets, he more than proves the kind of man he is and why he deserves this second chance with Keely, even if his Chaos brothers don’t feel the same way.
The way that Kristen Ashley sets up Hound and Keely’s story, describing their respective pasts and then building up to the point that it’s beyond time they attempt to move forward together provides readers with much needed insight and then brings us along for Hound and Keely’s wild ride – one that definitely has a few bumps in the road but one that also showcases exactly why they should be free to ride the wind together.
Kate Russell was the perfect narrator for Hound and Keely’s story. She brings life to all of the Chaos characters by altering her voice in a way that relates the emotions of each character, captures the intensity of each scene, and vividly depicts what’s at stake for everyone involved in the story line.
I absolutely adore Kristen Ashley’s Chaos Series, and while I’m sad to know it’s ending soon, I feel like I have waited forever for Rush’s story, and with how he steps up in a big way for Hound at the end of Wild Like the Wind, I can’t help but be even more eager to see Rush find his old lady and his true place, not only in Chaos, but in his life as a whole as well.
5 Poison Apples
I love these Chaos boys! And Hound and Keely’s book is no different!
Will read any story by this author. She never disappoints!
WILD LIKE THE WIND is book 6 in the Chaos series. I’m not sure if it’s labeled as a standalone or not but I’d definitely recommend reading the entire series, maybe even starting with Tack and Tyra’s story in MOTORCYCLE MAN («– 5 star read!).
Keely is no stranger to the MC world. She was married to a “brother” named Black. He was murdered 18 years prior and Keely was left to raise her two boys alone. But the Chaos MC and all the brothers helped her throughout the years, especially Hound. He had always been in love with Keely but never made a move on her since she was Black’s old lady first. Now, Keely wants more than friendship, regardless of the MCs unwritten rule and once Hound gets a taste of Keely, he finds it impossible to let her go.
So, I’ll begin by saying that I’m a huge KA fan and a huge fan of this series! Keely and Hound’s story had a bit of a different feel to it, not necessarily bad but:
(1) it was super spicy (which I had NO problem with but others might!) and
(2) although there was an underlying element of suspense with the bad guys that Chaos has been fending off for awhile, the book focused more on the relationship between Keely and Hound and the MC brotherhood. Honestly, I kinda missed the tension! But I absolutely MUST mention the epilogue and the little teasers for Rush’s story…I have a feeling it’s gonna EPIC!
Hound is probably the most bad @ss-iest biker in the entire MC, even rivaling Tack. He’s protective, possessive, volatile, stormy but also loving, giving, passionate and intense. Hound is the perfect compliment to Keely, who’s also pretty tough and a self proclaimed “biker b*tch”. Like I mentioned already, I loved the level of hotness that KA brought because I felt like it really represented Keely and Hound’s personalities. I mean they were WILD and free…their sex should be too, right?!?
This one was a solid 4 stars for me and I cannot wait for the next book! KA mixed it up for us with the first part of the book being completely told from Hound’s POV. But then a huge portion is told in Keely’s so no worries there! I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.
“Rounding it up to” 4 Stars
It is no secret that Kristen Ashley is the one who brought us, Edgy girls, together. Not only for her fabulous storytelling, she’s earned a special place in my heart due to what I got through her: the best two friends a girl could want.
Chaos is a series we’ve all loved, and Wild Like the Wind was much awaited by us. My high expectations played a bit to the feeling of disappointment when it was not everything I was hoping it would be. That said, the fact that we get to visit with the Chaos’ Brothers and their old ladies went a long way towards soothing my feelings.
Keely being the old lady of a brother lost in the worst way, she’s always been off-limits to Hound. 18 years is a long time to pine after someone. When Hound finally decides to move on, Keely realizes she’s wasted almost two decades ignoring her feelings towards him. So she decides to do something about it and seduces Hound (not that he put too much of a fight).
I can’t believe I’m saying this but, I felt there was waaaaaay too much sex. After finishing, I wish there had been less sex and more time focusing on the action aspect of the story. Also, the way their hook-up/fuck-buddy/affair pseudo-relationship progresses wasn’t my favorite part. Sadly, to me, the whole relationship angst felt forced and it could have been dealt with in a whole different way.
The strong focus in their boudoir shenanigans meant that the bad guy’s screen time was minimal… and again, not up to our expected KA standards. Another let down was that it seemed all the bada**es of the Denver metro area seemed to have lost their bada**ness. At one point I was hoping to get to see Sylvie in action which would have made up for the lackluster action.
Even when, in my personal opinion, a book isn’t her best, Ms. Ashley’s writing maintains its quality of keeping you glued to the pages. I loved Jean, the loveliest of lovely old ladies, and her relationship with Hound. I totally got that he needed someone to be the recipient of the immense amount of love he had to give, and I wish she’d have gotten to stick around to lord over the rest of the bada** bikers. That would have been a blast, and I felt that using her as the catalyst for Hound and Keely’s first drama was a total waste of an amazing character.
Dutch and Jagger, Keely’s sons, were another fabulous addition to the Chaos world and I loved them to pieces. Their love, their honor, their loyalty all blew me away. I’m hoping really, really hard we get to see their stories. Bev and her sporty-biker Tad were another bright light in the story. In fact, the boys and Tad, especially the hilariousness surrounding Bev and Tad’s relationship, ended up being my favorite part of the book.
Visiting Chaos, getting to witness Keely, Hound, Dutch and Jagger actually becoming the family in truth that they had mostly been already was wonderful. And although I can’t say Wild Like the Wind is my favorite in the series I still had a great time reading it and being back in its world.
So…I had issues with the first 20-ish% of the book. It was basically a series of crude, tacky hookups that had me feeling sympathy for Hound and his messed up situation. Then things flip. And we get into Keeley’s head space. And darned if I didn’t feel myself growing to like her witchy self.
I’m also quite positive that was the whole stinking point to the first portion of the book.
By 40-ish% I was in tears and beyond angry at Hound. By 50%…I was hooked…and glad I pushed myself to finish this book. The relationship struggles, brotherhood issues, Benito still causing problems for Chaos, and the plot whammy I wasn’t expecting, but it explains so much!
I wasn’t a big fan of Keeley or Hound and this was simply based on the glimpses I had of them in previous books. However, I went into their story, giving the benefit of doubt because 1) I didn’t know Keeley’s side of events, 2) I didn’t know Hound’s true personality, 3) I can’t count the number of times a KA guy has surprised me with their behavior once they fall in love.
This wasn’t an easy read. There was a ying-yang of feels. There were parts that caused my eyebrows to shoot up as I’m muttering WTH, there were moments my heart was breaking, and there were moments I was cheering while simultaneously hoping Keeley and Hound caught a freaking break. What finally brought me on board was that one moment, where the heart and mind click and Keeley and Hound acknowledged what that meant for them.
Loved this book.
Very sexy characters, I’ve read the other 3 Chaos books but this one by far my favorite.
Amazing! Everything about this was phenomenal. The intensity, the drama, the heat, love, the healing, the brotherhood and family. Every detail pulled me in and consumed me. I loved it all!
I really don’t know how to write this review because this book was epic! The love that Hound has for Keely is just indescribable. Hound is the brother that is called in to do the really tough work, the wetwork so you would expect him to be a hard man. But in this book you see the other side, the beauty of this man and his feelings is awe-inspiring. Not just the love he has for Keely but the love he shows towards Jean. Oh my heart, those scenes were just breathtaking. Don’t get me wrong he is a part of the Chaos MC and he shows that side of him too. Ohh boy talk about sexy and sizzling! Definitely have a fan and a cool glass of water nearby! And Keely, the past 18 years has been really tough on her, but she was ready to finally move on. Seeing glimpses of her in the other books I didn’t think much of her, but in this one, she is definitely seen as an Old Lady of a MC club. She is one tough chick, she has a backbone of steel!
To be honest, before starting this book I was really apprehensive of what gut-wrenching scene I would be reading about, this is a 400 plus page book so it was not going to be a simple story, we know going in things are going to happen. I’m happy to say it was not as gut-wrenching as it was in Millie and High’s story, that was a tough one for me. Don’t get me wrong, there was a scene I flinched but I moved passed it and enjoyed the rest of the book.
Since I live in California, this book dropped on my kindle at 9:09 pm on 7/30/2018 and I was done by 4am. I could not put it down, I even took the day off of work to read this book and it was worth it. Now to waiting for the conclusion in Rush’s story!!
I love kristen ashley so much every time i want to cry when im done because its over. Keely and Hound show you it’s never too late and its worth the wait.
So this series is a one-click series for me and I’ve been eagerly awaiting this book. Perhaps that was the start of my problems with this title — Maybe my expectations were too high. Wild Like The Wind just didn’t give me what I got from the other books in the series.
Hound has been in love with Keeley since before her Chaos husband was murdered. He’s got it bad for Keeley, but he’s not allowed to be with her because of some MC rules about brothers and their wives. For goodness sake, the guy is dead — should new love be able to sprout among the brothers? I just didn’t get that.
Anyway, Keeley has feelings for Hound too, in spite of the way she told him off in Walk Through Fire. She’s the one who has to get this started with Hound, and she does.
I have to be honest and say I almost DNF this book at around 35% when all I’d read to that point was sex, sex, sex. I read a lot of romance, so I’m not stranger or prude to explicit sex scenes, but there needs to be a story too. If there wasn’t the Jean storyline during this part of the book, I may have bailed on it.
Wild like the Wind gets a bit better after the 35% mark, although it’s no where near the other books in the series. There is very little forward movement on the Benito story until the last 1/3 of the book, which was a shame. It’s the balance of romance and Chaos that made the other stories in this series great — I just didn’t see it in this one.
The big moment is Hound and Keeley coming out to the club. That was probably my favorite scene — there were many fabulous moments here, especially from Rush. I think I’m in love already. The final pages are a rush (see what I did there) regarding the Benito storyline and I wish there had been more of that.
Probably the thing that annoyed me the most in this story was some of the dialogue. Now part of the charm of this series is how the Chaos guys talk, but there were so many sentences in Wild Like the Wind that I had to read multiple times and they still didn’t make any sense. It seemed like there were quite a few grammatical errors and editing errors throughout the book that took me out the story so many times.
*Sigh*
I wish I could rate this higher but there were just too many things that bugged me while I was reading it. Of course I did devour this in just 2 days, so it wasn’t all bad. It’s just not the best story in this series. I hope the finale will return to the format that made me love the men of Chaos. I’ll be one-clicking that for sure!
Kristen Ashley doesn’t disappoint. This installment of the Chaos Motorcycle club comes with heat, heart and happily ever. This story is told as only Kristen can, with strong, real characters that you wish you could hang out with.
I loved Hound and Kelly’s story! Eighteen years of being in love with a brother’s widow; taking care of her and her boys. It’s a long wait. A wait with no hope. And Jean.
Hound just makes me melt. He’s good through and through. He loves deeply and quietly. He gives freely. He’s loyal to a fault. He sees and feels so much.
I’m glad he got something good, something great. This story was more than a biker story. More than a romance. It was more than the brotherhood of Chaos. It was about family. Keely, Dutch, Jagger…and Hound. It’s been that way but not in the best, honest, freeing way. But it is now.
Yeah. I loved it.
What else can I say about this author? She is just amazing. This was another great book in this series. Hound was just, wow! I can not recommend this book, this series and this author enough. A must read.
Let me start by saying I love all of Kristen Ashley’s books she is an amazing writer. Hound is a great guy threw an threw. KeeKee is an awesome women mother and wife. Keep up the awesome work. I can’t wait for Rush. He is one of my favorites.
Let me start by saying that this book had a slow start. I wasn’t sure that KA still had it in her for about 18% of Hound and Keely’s story, but then I hit the magic 20% mark and it all came together. This book definitely does the Chaos series and crew justice and kept me pushing other duties off (who needs dinner on time anyway, right?) until the very last page. A few questions are answered, and yes, some of the answers we get about the epilogue of Rosalie and Snapper’s story are what you’d expect. I won’t spoil the book, but I will say that this read is the best Chaos has to offer since Ride Steady (and I adored that one). Now, to wait for Rush and his woman to tell us how this all ends with their book. I can’t wait to see how this all plays out!
Hound…what can I say about you? You quickly pushed Tack off his throne and nearly unseated Ty as my fave KA book boyfriend. Right now you both are sharing the throne. You proved that you were a game changer in this book! Your love for Jean, Keely, Dutch, and Jagger knew no bounds; add that to the love you already had for your Chaos brethern and you became the best part of them. It was not an easy road for anyone, but seeing what was entailed made the other side that much sweeter!
This book brings things almost full circle for Chaos. What began with Black’s death affects Chaos all this time later! It is really hard to write this without giving away any spoilers! So many questions will be answered and Chaos will have a much clearer picture of their enemy.
As with all KA books, this book is steamy! So much steam that it might set your kindle smokin’! Beautifully written as all Kristen Ashley’s books are and she puts you through all the feels as you watch as the story unfolds as if you are there!
