Gill, the Duke of Coventry, has never been the sort of gentleman who woos ladies with effortless ease. In fact, he’s never even kissed a woman, let alone courted one. But as the new duke, he’s in need of a wealthy bride to replenish his dwindling familial coffers. Preferably a sweet, calm bride who is equally reserved. A bride who is nothing at all like Miss Christabella Winter.Christabella is … Winter.
Christabella is looking for passion. She longs for forbidden kisses in hidden alcoves, for a dashing rake to sweep her off her feet. Therefore, her dratted infatuation with the shy Duke of Coventry makes no sense. Particularly since he cannot be bothered to speak to her in complete sentences.
When she inadvertently learns the duke has never been kissed, however, Christabella forms the perfect plan. She can show him how to win a lady’s heart and kiss him out of her system at the same time. But the problem with kisses is they often lead to something more, and soon, the only heart she wants him to win is hers.

Nothing but does that stop attraction and respect? In simple terms, no. Gill is so sweet and even though he thinks he wants a biddable wife, love decides to take him in a different direction. Right to Christabella. The chemistry is flying off the pages and the story is so entrancing that you will want to read it all in one sitting. This is a couple that will make you love snowball fights and kissing lessons.
I received a complimentary copy from the author.
Loved it.
The Hellion and her Duke!!!
Ohh my goodness, I enjoyed reading this book! It was Miss. Christabella Winter’s turn in this well written Regency Romance, with a fantastic plot!!
The Duke of Coventry, Gill is very handsome and very shy. Miss. Christabella is outgoing, outspoken and beautiful! Red haired, with blue-green eyes, she is looking to be seduced by a rake. Her older brother wants her and her sisters to marry loving and caring gentleman. At the weeks long house party she and Gill meet while she is in her family family library.
That meeting proves to be the beginning to an entertaining courtship! This story if possible, may have been a favorite, although, I just loved all of their stories!! A must read!!!
The Duke of Coventry has panic attacks and severe social anxiety that his abusive monster of a father exacerbated. So clearly, the lady he should marry is the chatty hellion, Christabella Winter! Funnily enough, she has a knack for setting him at ease and teaching him how to have fun. While her sister Pru is being chased by his rakehell of a brother, Christabella has to decide if picking the “safe and well behaved” brother isn’t really what she wants after all. And to top it off, there is a whole other family of secret Winters that just made themselves known to the Winters sisters! MORE BOOKS!!!! Yeah!!!
I haven’t read any of the other Winter Books but I can tell you I am buying all of them after reading this one!!! I loved this story. This is my first Hero virgin story and it didn’t disappoint. I think Christabell ,who is a bit naughty, and had me rolling with her antic was the perfect women for Gill, who is a bit shy as he has a speech impediment. She’s feisty and didn’t let Gill hide away. She instigated kissing lessons that were HOT HOT HOT!!! She wanted a rake and then discovered what she really wanted was Gill
Gill thought he wanted a well behaved quite young women as his wife until he meet Christabell who turned his life upside down but he couldn’t help himself for falling in love with her. .Loved the HEA.
I was gifted the Advanced Reader Copy of this book & all opinions are my own & have been voluntarily given
This is the story of Christabella Winter and Gill Rawdon, the Duke of Coventry. Christabella is very idealistic and flighty. She thinks she needs to marry a rake. That didn’t sit very well with me at first, but I pressed on and am glad I did.
Gill is certainly not a rake. He’s a virgin who has never been kissed! He’s a victim of his wastrel father’s abuse and as a result, he is a man of few words. But he’s handsome and he has a title, even if the estate is financially destitute! Christabella has a lot of money, but she doesn’t fit the prim duchess ideal that Gill envisions.
When she discovers that Gil has never been kissed, Christabella presumptuously and scandalously decides she will practice kissing with Gil so they can prepare for their future partners. She risks her own ruin in order to experiment with a man she dismisses as a suitable mate. Luckily, she eventually comes to her senses and sees the worth of the man right in front of her. Gil has to overcome his painful shyness and social awkwardness. He has to find the gumption and courage to pursue what he wants, because he deserves happiness.
Will they get their HEA?
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I really enjoyed Gill and Chirstabella’s story. They both thought they knew what they were looking for. Luckily, circumstances lead them to each other. One of the things I really enjoyed was that the hero was a virgin. So many stories involve rakes. And those stories are fun, but it was nice to see a different sort of story.
Definitely a 5 out of 5.

The sixth & finale of the Wicked Winters & I’ve loved everyone of them, this is no exception, of course we’ve met Gill & Christabella in earlier books so I’d been looking forward to their story. Another well written page turning engrossing read that I read in a sitting. I loved every page of it. I loved how Gill opened to Belle, from not speaking to one word answers to talking & laughing. I must admit there was a squee when a secret was revealed!
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
Scarlett Scott has written such great stories to go with each one of the siblings & I have loved them all – I am just sad that we have come to the end of the Wicked Winter family.
What could Gill Rawdon, the Duke of Coventry, a virgin duke with a traumatic childhood have in common with the outspoken & feisty Christabella Winter, who wants to find a rake for a husband? Nothing, you say – well read this book & you will change your mind. This was a side splitting laugh from front to back with moments of tenderness, anger, passion & the innocent discoveries of a couple who were made for one another.
I highly recommend this book & series to all historical romance readers who want to take a scandalous but entertaining journey with the Winter siblings – you will not be disappointed!

Christebella knows what she wants, a rake. There is just one problem, all the rakes at the house party have looked over her for her sisters. She definitely doesn’t want a Duke who has never been kissed, a Duke who is made of ice, a Duke who won’t even speak to her… until he does. The Duke of Conventry is a refreshing change. I liked to see a man who is ready to love that one woman, the one that opens up his heart.
“Yes indeed, Ms. Christabella was trouble. Capital-T trouble. And he was capital-I intrigued.”
A book of learning what you really need not just what you think you want.
We have a little trouble added to the mix at the end that you are not going to want to miss.
Cristabella is the last of the Winter sisters to get her love story. She is definitely the wild one suggesting kissing practice, starting snowball fights, and chasing her dream of being with a rake.
Gill, the Duke of Coventry, is quiet, he does not converse and likes to escape from social interactions. This is all due to his harsh past with his father. But they find each other alone one day and things start to change.
I absolutely adored these two together because it was quite different from the books I’ve read lately. No rake/skilled lover or shy wallflower. She is a strong and bold woman that knows what she wants. He is nonsocial and introverted but when he is with her he changes. I loved how she said “You are ice, and I am flame. I melt you.” And how out of the blue he calls her Belle when no one else has ever done so. Just a very sweet relationship but boy do they sizzle as well. Super happy about the surprise at the end. When Adele was first introduced, I was like okay what’s going on here but never would have guessed. I am looking forward to more surprises. I was given a ARC of the book and chose to post a review.
This is the 6th book in the series Wicked Winters and I have LOVED everyone. You could read this book by itself, but I would recommend reading them all, you will enjoy every single one of them. Every time I have finished one book, I think to myself this one is the best, but then I read the next one and I think this one is the best. So, I guess everyone is the Best. LOL. Gill was so quiet and shy he never even kissed anyone; he wants to marry someone shy. Christabella has an out-going personality and wants to marry a rake with passion. They should not want each other, but they do. You will fall in love with this couple and the whole Winter Family.
4.5 stars rounded up.
Christabella Winter may just be the wildest of her scandalous siblings. She longs for romance and hopes to marry an experienced, charming rake. That makes her growing attraction to the shy Duke of Coventry a bit of a bother, especially when he can hardly deign to speak to her.
Gill Rawdon, the Duke of Coventry, has never even kissed a woman, much less charmed one with smooth words. But he’s inherited his wastrel father’s estates, along with his massive debts, so Gill is in need of a wealthy wife and soon. He’d prefer a sweet wife who’s as reserved as he is, certainly nothing like the bold Christabella Winter.
When Christabella finds out the duke has never been kissed, she decides they should practice together. She can get rid of her pesky attraction to him and prepare herself for the rake she hopes to marry and she can teach Gill how to woo a lady. But as they spend more time together, Christabella begins to have difficulty picturing Gill with another lady or herself with another man as the feelings between them grow, though Gill’s shyness may prevent them from moving forward together.
I really enjoyed this one. Gill was lovely as a shy and rather tortured hero who is far more complex than anyone suspects. Christabella did get on my nerves a bit with her insistence on a rake and her romanticism of what a rake actually is, but she eventually, thankfully, came to her senses. I loved that she helped Gill see his own worth and I think that’s what truly made this story for me. Both Gill and Christabella matured and developed quite a bit in a short time and I thought that was great.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Fantastic read! Delivered everything I expected and more. I fell in love with Gill in Wagered in Winter and absolutely couldn’t wait for his and Cristabella’s story to come out and it did not disappoint! It was emotional, heartfelt, and endearing. Gill and Christabella are absolutely perfect for one another…she was the flame needed to melt his ice…it was the perfect ending to a wonderful series that I devoured and cant wait to see what’s next. Well worth the read!
I received an arc of this book and this is my honest review 🙂
Starring Christabella Winter and Gill, Duke of Coventry.
Oh. My. YUM!! Christabella and Gill are absolutely delicious together (fanning myself)!! They had me smiling and ugly crying AF like a lovesick fool… So. Much. FEEEEELS!!
I looooooove a good virgin hero story…. and Gill is going down as one of my faves. Because of his traumatic childhood he’s developed a speech affliction in social settings. It’s also caused him not to interact comfortably with the opposite sex… which is why he still has his v-card. Ooooh but that doesn’t mean he’s not a swoon-worthy hero…. coz he definitely is!! He may not be a rake, but he will make your toes curl. Gawd bless them silent types, y’all!! Hmmm-mmmm… be still my heart!!
I absolutely loved that Christabella is feisty, tenacious, and a take charge kinda heroine. Oh she is a hoot and exactly what Gill needed to help him come out of his shell. In her mind she may say she wants a rake… but her heart knows exactly what she needs. Her road to discovery made me laugh out loud a lot. I love that she’s the naughtiest Winter. She’s climbing the charts as my favorite.
Christabella and Gill are going on my “All Time Favorite couples” list. Opposites attract with these two. Such a magical combination and they made my heart so happy. And their kissing sessions always lead to some haaaawt and steamy scenes…. like wowza!! I cheered the loudest for their HEA.
This is the last book in the WICKED WINTERS series. It had me bawling because it was so beautiful AND I don’t want to let go of this group of siblings and their significant others!! Total praises for Scarlett Scott for creating this awesome Winter Wonderland filled with these amazing characters. No surprise that she’s one of my auto-buy, Keeper shelf authors. If she’s writing it… imma gonna be reading it!!
Learned a new word:
mésalliance /ˌmāzəˈlīəns/
a marriage with a person thought to be unsuitable or of a lower social position.
I received a complimentary copy of this book… and have also pre-ordered it. I voluntarily review it and the comments are 100% my own.
My Star rating: 5 stars
Ugly cried AF. Major book hangover. Characters and storyline were amazing. Made me wanna hug the author for writing a book that gave me all the feels!! Will be re-reading this story over and over and over again!! In fact, I may turn around and re-read it again NOW!!
SIZZLING!! This is a sweet story romance, BUT STEAMY in some parts! An easy read and wonderful characters! I say well done indeed!
Christabella and Gil are on fire in this book. Especially for a man for speaks so little. However, she happens to be able to speak enough for the both of them. She disarms him easily. I just love them as a couple.
ANOTHER ONE OF MY FAVORITES. Scarlett Scott makes it hard to pick a favorite.
Christabella is bored as all her sisters are being matched with all the rogues or rakes so she steals away from the activities to read one of her forbidden books and comes across a strict, strong & tall Duke of Coventry, Gill. She offends him but puts him at ease. She confuses him esp when she offers kissing lessons…as she cannot be a novice to her “rake husband to-be.”
Favorite scene: Their first rendezvous in the sitting and he pushes her the wall. Hands everywhere esp down there. Uhhh so steamy. OR when he meets her in her room after injuring her ankle to check on her wellbeing.
ANOTHER ONE OF MY FAVORITES. Miss Scarlett Scott makes it SO hard to pick a favorite. Def recommend adding it to your collection.
Like that it is connected with Pru & Ash’s story in Wagered in Love.
What I will say for every single book: I love the lust, steam and the lack of angst. It makes me tingle and happy.
Great read. I went onto read the other books in the series.
My favorite book in the series! I love Christabella and Gil’s story. I have been waiting on Christabella’s story since I read the first book.
Christabella is wild and carefree. She just knows a wild rake will come by and sweep her off her feet! She is a free spirit, bold and irreverent.
Gil has been forged by his horrible childhood. He is painfully shy and backward.
It seems the two would never match, but together they are pure fire.
The book was scorching! The passion was intense. The plot moved well. The storyline was entertaining and romantic. I love the snowball fight! This was the last of the Winter sisters to marry off. I love this series, it is captivating. I am going to read Wishes In Winter and Wooed In Winter because they happen at the same house party. Then I will go to Winter’s Wallflower.
Really enjoyed the Wild romp thru a winter house party. Great series also.
