Gill, the Duke of Coventry, has never been the sort of gentleman who woos ladies with effortless ease. In fact, he’s never even kissed a woman, let alone courted one. But as the new duke, he’s in need of a wealthy bride to replenish his dwindling familial coffers. Preferably a sweet, calm bride who is equally reserved. A bride who is nothing at all like Miss Christabella Winter.Christabella is … Winter.
Christabella is looking for passion. She longs for forbidden kisses in hidden alcoves, for a dashing rake to sweep her off her feet. Therefore, her dratted infatuation with the shy Duke of Coventry makes no sense. Particularly since he cannot be bothered to speak to her in complete sentences.
When she inadvertently learns the duke has never been kissed, however, Christabella forms the perfect plan. She can show him how to win a lady’s heart and kiss him out of her system at the same time. But the problem with kisses is they often lead to something more, and soon, the only heart she wants him to win is hers.

Miss Christabella Winter was the rebel in the family. She reads naughty books and dreams of marrying a Rake! Gill, the Duke of Coventry, is a painfully shy gentleman that hasn’t even kissed a woman much less slept with one. His brother is the rake and he isn’t. So why is he drawn to the sister who is the one with soo much passion for being wild? Why can’t Christabella not stop thinking about the reserved quiet Duke? She vows to help the Duke by teaching him about kissing. But little did they both know that the heat between them both would not be temporary. I loved reading about a wild lady who wanted the Rake but ended up with the quiet and shy Duke. Can’t wait for the new Winter series! More wickedness coming!
The last of this series brings Christabella Winter, bold, assertive and beautiful together with her soul mate, Gil, the Duke of Coventry, shy to the point of speechlessness. While Christabella can carry on a conversation alone, she is mystified by the quiet dignity of Gil, who is the opposite of his brother, Lord Ashley., a rake. But Gil hides the hellish circumstances of his childhood which caused this handsome man to freeze in company and doubt his own worth. Although fun loving and outgoing, Christabella is both kind and compassionate, and she makes Gil her project determined to break down his defenses. Little does she know that by doing so, she is also discovering a man she comes to admire and love. Delightful series where all 5 sisters find their mates during a house party – Ms. Scott dovetails the sisters’ romances in a unique and beautiful manner!
Wild in Winter is the sixth book in the amazing Wicked Winters series. This book takes place at the same Christmas house party as the previous ones. The author does a wonderful job entangling the romances of the sisters at the same party but allowing them to find their own HEA (with a little help from each other). I do think this was my favorite from the series so far. I loved the characters and the way they were entirely opposites in personalities but together they completed each other. As Christabella said to Gill, “You are ice, and I am flame. I melt you.” Christabella was known as being a hellion, while Gill was shy and tended to freeze up in company. She was not the type of wife he thought he wanted but, in the end, he realized that he had to have her as his wife. I was sad to see this book, the last of the Winter siblings, because it was the last one in the series. But the author throws in a surprise at the end so you will have to read it to see what is coming!
Those Winter sisters are at it again!
Absolutely one of the most hilarious courtships. It’s the same Winter country Christmas party. Christabelle Winter wants to marry a rake, but for some reason she keeps bumping into Gill, the Duke of Coventry. He’s looking for a nice quiet young lady to marry, but there’s something about Belle. Both virgins who’ve never been kissed are suddenly kissing and touching and… there’s that book again! One of the best series! Oh.. and there’s a nice twist at the end of the story.
Wild in Winter by Scarlett Scott is book Six in The Wicked Winters Series. This is the story of Gill, the Duke of Coventry and Christabella Winter. I have read the previous books which did add to my enjoyment of this one, but I did feel it was a standalone book if you wish to do so.
Gill is newly appointed Duke and now needs to find a well mannered wife. But he doesn’t know how to woo a women and never even kissed one because he is somewhat shy. Christabella knows she wants to have a hot passionate love and the excitement of sneaking in kisses. But for some reason she feels drawn to Gill who doesn’t even talk to her nor make any motion of passionate displays towards her. So when she learns his secret she feel compelled to help him and to help herself overcome this attraction for him. But nothing goes they way she thinks. Loved their story and hope to read more from this author soon!!
Gill, the Duke of Coventry is a shy man, he has trouble being in crowded rooms, talking to woman and he’s actually a virgin who has never kissed a woman before. Guy and his brother are attending a country house party where Gill is looking for a wealthy wife to restore the family coffers. He’s looking for a quite reserved young lady like Prudence Winters. Wealthy Miss Christabella Winter is a beautiful vivacious young woman who tempts Guy to do things he doesn’t normally do, like actually talk to her. The she threatens to kiss him, man what’s a man to do but take lessons from the risky Christabella and accept her proposal they help each other. She’ll teach him how to kiss and he’ll help her catch a rake for a husband. I loved this story of a young woman wanting to marry a rake and finding herself drawn to Gill a Duke who is totally opposite of a rake, but his kisses set her on heart to fluttering and his caress inflame her as no other has ever before. The chemistry between these two is irresistible as they discover what really matters is love, their love as she helps Gill overcome his past and see his true worth. An excellent story I loved and I voluntarily wrote a review.
Gill has always had a hard time speaking to others. So much so, that he tends to just avoid interacting with others and spends time by himself on his estate. But he needs money to keep those estates running, so he is on the hunt for a wife. He hopes for a nice, quiet wife. Upon meeting Christabella, he knows that she is the opposite of what he is looking for. But she seems to calm him which allows him to actually have a conversation with her. Even thought she is not what he imagined he wanted in a wife, he soon finds himself falling for her.
Christabella is determined to marry a rake. She just knows that a rake will give her the passion she craves. When she learns that Gill has never been kissed, she decides that it is her duty to help him gain the heart of his future duchess. If she gets to enjoy some of his kisses along the way, all the better. She soon realizes that she doesn’t want to give up those kisses. But is she ready to give up on her dream of marrying a rake and find her happiness with Gill?
I absolutely adored Gill and Christabella’s story!! The two of them together, were perfect!! Christabella was the perfect person to get Gill to open up. I just loved them together!!
I loved this series and if you haven’t read it yet, you need to do so ASAP!
I loved this series and this book was just as good as I anticipated it being. The two lovers in this story could not be more opposite, but together they are perfect. I love their chemistry and love of their families and each other.
While I dreaded reading this book because I thought it was the end, we see some new characters enter this story that suggest the possibility of more from this great family! I cannot wait to hear their stories! As always, I highly recommend this book and this entire series..or any book by Scarlett Scott. You will not go wrong with any of her books!
I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
