When half–wolf shifter Frankie Newman receives an e-mail from a family member she didn’t know existed, a secret is revealed: as a child, Frankie witnessed her father killing her mother…and then himself. Frankie was torn from her pack by her mother’s human relatives, and the trauma was erased from her memory. Realizing that she’s been lied to her entire life, she’s never felt more alone. Until she … she catches the scent of an old friend—warmly familiar and intoxicating.
Trick Hardy, enforcer of the Phoenix Pack, can sense the rush of mutual attraction when he sees Frankie again. He knows immediately that she’s his true mate. But he also knows that, given her fragile state, he needs to tread with care—no matter how fierce his surging desires.
As aroused as Frankie is by Trick’s darkly dominant air and simmering desire, her priority right now is her past—not her future, no matter how tempting. But as more secrets emerge and Frankie’s life is threatened, Trick must do everything he can to keep her close and safe. After all, it’s their destiny.

I feel like this series is just getting better and better. In the beginning, we had main couples who fought the idea of being true mates and the last few have had more acceptance. In Wild Hunger, there was no pushing away and I loved it!
This couple was such a treat to read about. I get such a kick out of couples working together instead of against each other. To me, that kept the focus on the true angst of the story which is Frankie’s past and the new threat to the Phoenix pack.
I’m really enjoying this series and seeing past couples together. If you enjoy dominant men that have possessive and protective streaks, this series for you. You can read these books as standalones but I do think you will enjoy them more if you start at the beginning and learn everyone’s story.
It sounds like Bracken may be next but we still have Dominic without a mate as well. I don’t think I will ever get tired of this series so I hope the author keeps them coming!

‘Wild hunger’ is the seventh book of ‘The Phoenix Pack’ series. I must confess that when I started reading ‘Wild hunger’ I had only read the first book of this series (and not the other books) but that wasn’t a problem for reading it. But after enjoying and loving this story very much I will definitely read the rest of this paranormal series soon!
This story is about Trick, an enforcer of the Phoenix pack and Frankie (who is a niece of Lydia). One of the things that made me enjoy this story so much, was the way that both Trick and Frankie behaved towards each other, with respect and total honesty. I really appreciated the fact that Trick didn’t push Frankie into the mating. That he respected her longings, her needs and her fears. And I liked the fact that Frankie didn’t play games with Trick. She was always honest with him. And then of course, you have also the hot sex scenes and the humor! The story is told from both POV’s.
Just like Suzanne Wright’s other books, this story was NOT boring. You have the banter between the pack mates and between the couple. Trick may be ‘only’ an enforcer of the pack and not the alpha but that doesn’t mean that he can’t be a dominant man/wolf. No!! Trick knows very well what he wants and he wants Frankie in his bed and in his life. But Frankie may look innocent, she can be tough and sarcastic when the situation ask for it. She and her wolf aren’t really submissive. So that makes their relationship very interesting.
One of the things that I really like about this writer’s writing is that with each story she manage to surprise me. She has her own unique way of telling a story and although you know where the story is going to, there’s also always a surprise in it. And as a reader I really like that! And in this book she did it again.
If you’re a fan of Shelly Laurenston her books than you might like this series too.
Wildly Addictive…
I have to say that I’m a huge fan of this author and have read just about everything that she has written. That being said, I may not be the most objective reader when it comes to reviewing her work. Now if you have not read any books in The Phoenix Pack Series, then I highly suggest that you start with Feral Sins, which is the first book in the series, it will take you on one incredible journey. Each time I pick up a book in this series, as well as the Mercury Pack Series I feel as if I’m coming home. I love this world and the characters that Suzanne Wright has created. Not only does she do the whole ridiculous dominate alpha male right but she combines just the right amount of snarky humor to spice things up. I always find that I’m laughing out loud while reading this series and Wild Hunger is no exception. Even though there are similar themes throughout the series, I find that I just really don’t care. I love the series, I love the characters, I love the snarky humor, and I love the sense of family that she has created not only for the Phoenix Pack but the Mercury Pack as well.
I’ve been waiting for a while for Trick’s book, and Suzanne Wright did not disappoint. She created the absolute perfect mate for Trick in Frankie. She is a no-nonsense kind of woman that compliments him perfectly. The obstacles that they must overcome to complete their bond are unique to Trick and Frankie as secrets locked away in her past come to light. Their chemistry is off the charts hot between the two. The reader gets to spend time with all of our favorite Phoenix Pack members as they welcome Frankie with open arms. Well, maybe except for Greta, but she doesn’t fail to deliver in true Greta fashion. You just love to not like this snippy old shifter.
So to recap, I’m giving Wild Hunger 5 steamy stars, because honestly, there was not one thing that I did not love about this installment of The Phoenix Pack Series. Last but not least, I received Wild Hunger as an ARC via NetGalley which in no way influenced my review. Thank you, Suzanne Wright, Montlake Romance, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review Trick’s book in the series. I loved it.
What a great book! Frankie is such a contradiction. I loved how she reacted to proverbs. This story is so well written. I enjoyed how the author brings all the twists together with such finess.. I have to say the bad guy had me stumped until the reveal. Highly recommend this series and this book.
Frankie is a sculptor and a wolf shifter. When she was three her father killed her mother, then himself. Her mother’s parents took her away from the pack and lied to her. She receives an email saying she has an aunt and grandmother who wants to see her before she passes away. She meets her aunt and one of the shifters go with her. Trick knew Frankie when she was little but hadn’t seen her in years. As soon as his wolf gets a smell of her, it knows she’s their true mate. But he’ll have to go slow or he’ll scare her away. Frankie knows there’s something special about Trick because her wolf is calm and likes him.
As Frankie gets to know her family and packmates, she’s almost kidnapped. Her grandparents aren’t happy with her and her uncle tries to pay Trick off to leave her alone. She tries to remember what happened the night her parents died. While searching her old house with her aunt, the killer traps them in the basement. Trick is fighting a wolf pack when he realizes Frankie is in trouble. As a races to her, can he get to her in time before the house collapses?
Awesome book. Funny, suspenseful, steamy. Wolves. Secrets and surprises. I can’t wait for Dominic’s story.
