Everything I want is here, in front of me.Rusty Campbell left Hart’s Bay after high school to work in the wilderness. Now he’s back home for one purpose: seaweed farming. To succeed, he’ll need to fight the tide and win over his skeptical family, once-burned by the fishing industry collapse. But there are intriguing new faces bringing good fortune to Hart’s Bay—like the captivating redhead who … captivating redhead who watches him from the art gallery.
Six months after moving to this small town, Ezra Carter’s bed feels empty. Painting and running an art co-op with his friends doesn’t fill the same need. The city boy is seriously considering lowering his standards… until the man of his dreams walks in and throws his no-good hookup out of the bar. Why does Rusty have to be straight?
Rusty is mystified at the surging chemistry between them as their friendship grows. Is Ezra the missing piece to the puzzle of Rusty’s love life? As Rusty struggles to make sense of his feelings, he guides Ezra through his home territory to give the artist new inspiration—but he winds up becoming Ezra’s muse himself.
Before long, they’re fumbling their way through uncharted waters. Can their picture-perfect, no-labels relationship weather the storm brewing under their feet?
Wild Hart is the third book in the new Hart’s Bay series about a small town full of nosy but well-meaning neighbors and brotherly banter. It can be read on its own, and promises a happily-ever-after ending with plenty of smiles and steam along the way. Just hold on… when the boat’s a-rocking, don’t come knocking!

This is my third book by this author and I’m a fan. We are once again introduced to a great character, Rusty, who returns to Hart’s Bay to start an innovative business raising seaweed. Watching Rusty go through the motions of forming a friendship with Ezra, which in turn takes Rusty on a journey of self-discovery and self-realization is what makes this author’s writing so good. Adding wonderful characters, humor, heat and an HEA … and you have all the things in a book that leave me wanting to read the next one in the series. This one, like the previous two, can definitely hold its own as a stand-alone. Highly recommend 🙂
Hart’s Bay #3 is a sweet Gay For You/opposites attract romance. Ezra is part of a group of friends who have relocated to small town Hart’s Bay from Portland to form their own artists’ collective, and Rusty is a local boy who has spent a few years away and has now moved back to start a new seaweed farming business. Rusty is drawn to Ezra and wants to protect him, but doesn’t really understand why at first — the friendship that develops between them quickly evolves into something more. What their relationship will become will depend on them both understanding what is in their own hearts as well as in their heads. Not a lot of angst or conflict as the story doesn’t need it. Highly recommended!
This is the third book of this series, and I absolutely love it. It is the first story to have characters that are not directly related to the Hart family. There is a connection between Rusty and Hart’s Bay, because he grew up there until he graduated high school. Plus, his parents still hold a grudge due to losing their jobs when the fishing plant shut down. Ezra moved to the area about six months prior, I believe, to avoid relationships and start an art co-op with his friends.
But, Ezra is getting antsy with an empty bed. He’s obviously been hurt before, but he is ready to start moving forward. He has spotted the man of his dreams, but he’s straight, so hook-ups it will be… until Rusty sees one being disrespectful, and just throws him out!
Now, Rusty has always dated women, but it never feels right or works out. He’s always assumed he was straight, but the way he is feeling around the feisty red head is making him question his assumptions. Ezra has told him he is in need of inspiration, so Rusty decides to combine his new business and some fun to show him a few new sights.
There are some insecurities, as Ezra is not the outdoorsy type at all, but he puts his all into doing the things Rusty likes. Rusty just enjoys Ezra’s flirting and willingness to avoid labels so they can see what happens.
There are a few exciting and/or dangerous happenings which break up the story nicely. But, overall, this is mostly a fun, flirtatious, friends to lovers romance. Some might call it a GFY, but I’m not sure I would. Rusty’s not into labels. And, of course, our MCs get their happily ever after.
As always, the ever-talented Greg Boudreaux worked his magic with the narration. The characters are well differentiated, and the pacing is smooth and easy to listen to. Ezra was a quirky flirt, and Rusty was a down to earth guy.
Happy listening!

Sweet, Fiesty, and Endearing!
I loved Ezra’s story! He and Rusty were perfect together and I loved Ed’s approach to Rusty and his personal and sexual discovery!
There is such a spark from the start between these two and I enjoyed the journey to finding themselves and explored their connection. I really enjoyed Rusty’s story as he discovered and grew. He really came into himself and grew in confidence and was able to find himself, stand up for himself and find something he never knew he was looking for.
Ezra has always been a favorite of mine and his story didn’t disappoint. He has such a big heart and thankfully it ended up being safe with Rusty.
A beautiful story of discovery and growth!

A great story with all the feels!! Friendship to love, self-acceptance and learning accepting support create a terrific story! I really loved how these guys had such a firm foundation of friendship before Rusty realized he was seeing Ezra differently than just a friend. I really enjoyed their Kayak trips. I so enjoyed Ezra’s self-talk and how it mattered so much to him that he could support Rusty.
Ezra and Rusty are so special together that it really made my heart happy.
There are so many beautiful moments in this read that will touch your heart and here is one of my favorite quotes from the book: ‘i wanted to make sure i can give you what you need for a long time to come.’
This is book three of the A Hart’s Bay series and can be read as a stand-alone story. i am so enjoying this series!!
I was gifted this book from the author and i freely give my honest opinion and review.
Looking for love in the wrong places or is it gender? After a long day out on the Bay Rusty goes for a night cap. Ezra is on the date & knows things aren’t going to go well. Rusty overhearing the couple thinks something doesn’t sound right, Rusty intervenes. Ezra is grateful for the intervention, & quickly become friends. Ezra always had a crush on Rusty from afar. Thinking he’s straight Rusty always wondered why he never clicked with the right girl. An ARC for honest review. So far my favorite book of the series.
This is the third book in the Hart’s Bay series. You could read this as a stand alone but there are a few parts that would make more sense if you’ve read the previous books. I really love Ezra! He is a fabulous character that is so entertaining to read. The chemistry between Ezra and Rusty is immediate and it was so enjoyable to see how it all developed. Definitely my favorite couple so far. I’m looking forward to the next installment!
