A hot new standalone in the series that’s been called “A total, utter must read.” – Book Fanatic
He’s growly. Grumpy. Stubborn.
And now, my new roommate.
Walking away from my disastrous last relationship was an easy decision, but moving in with a friend-of-a-friend hockey star who’s rarely home? Not quite as simple, because Grant makes me feel all kinds of things I’m not prepared for.
… not prepared for.
Protected. Desired. Unsteady.

She’s beautiful. Smart. Tempting.
And a little fragile.
I’ve never been anyone’s knight in shining armor, but when Ana needed a place to stay, it was easy to offer her a room with me.
Not so simple, though, is keeping my hands—or my mouth—to myself. And the night she crawls into my bed and shares her body with me? Heaven.
But she’s not looking for a relationship, and to my surprise, I find myself pissed off by that idea.
They say my heart is broken, that I’ll never settle down. I used to think that was true. Now, though? Hell, your guess is as good as mine.
First, she took my bed.
Then she took my heart.
Then she took my everything.
Your favorite hot jocks are back with an all new standalone novel. If you like sexy, confident men who know how to handle a stick (on and off the ice), and smart women who are strong enough to keep all those big egos in check, this series is for you!

For me Kendall Ryan is an automatic one click author. I was lucky enough to receive an early copy of this gem. And I LOVED IT! Grant and Ana’s story is my absolute favorite of the Hot Jocks series. This story triggered a lot of emotions in me in the best of ways. Ms. Ryan as always reminds me why I love to read, she captures me from the beginning and takes me on a roller coaster of feels. This is an ABSOLUTE must read!
When it comes to delicious heroes Ms. Ryan has crafted some of the best in her Hot Jocks series. This latest installment is no exception as it introduces readers to Grant..the gruff, overly-serious, yet caring hockey team captain. Learning at an early age that happiness can be snuffed out in the blink of an eye has him closely guarding his heart since he was a young boy in foster care. The moment he meets Ana though something shifts for him that has him wanting more, and with an unplanned event binding them together, he just might get a HEA of his own…if he can convince Ana.
Grant’s the veteran of the team, the one every other player looks up to, and he enjoys the role of teacher and protector. From a young boy in foster care he learned to protect those who were weaker and it’s carried through to today when a young woman needs his protection now more than ever. Everything about Ana calls to him, from her tiny size to her big heart, and he can’t help wanting to keep her safe and through sweet words and caring gestures he does just that. Along the way though he realizes that the family he’s always wanted starts with her and does all he can to be a part of her life without taking over. From the first page to the last Grant exuded strength tempered with a soft heart. Whatever Ana needed he made sure she had, never judged her for her decisions, and never pushed her for more than she could give. Early on he was seen as stoic, just going through the motions day in and day out, but as the story progressed he came to life. Each smile was a gift that warmed my heart and each time he gave without taking endeared him to me even more. With a sexy physique and a heart of gold Grant quickly made the list of book boyfriends and whichever hero comes next (newbie hockey player Jordie) has a tough act to follow.
Ana had loss in her life too as a youngster and it’s left an indelible mark on her when it comes to love and loss. What had a bigger affect on her though was the domestic abuse she dealt with at the hands of Jason, her hockey-playing boyfriend. This was an issue that was dealt with head-on from the very start, handled in a realistic manner that made my heart ache. Ana was a strong woman…except when it came to Jason. Her self-esteem had been so battered that she was merely surviving with him in her life. Being with Grant though saw a weight lifted off her, a need to be independent, that had her keeping him at arm’s length when all she wanted was him. I liked Ana for the most part, cheered her decision to leave Jason, but was sometimes frustrated by her treatment of Grant as the story progressed. Through subtle words and deeds Grant made her life better, wearing his heart on his sleeve, so her dragging out their journey to HEA felt somewhat manipulative. Despite that, I admired her honesty in what she was feeling and was drawn to her kind heart that made this a pair worth rooting for.
On a whole this was a quick read that dealt with some heavy issues, issues that were handled realistically and respectfully. It was a timely issue too as athletes and domestic abuse have made their way to newspaper headlines. Alongside this potent issue was the delightful pairing of Grant and Ana. They brought out hidden facets in each other throughout their time together and their interactions put a smile on my face. While it’s clear that they wanted to constantly jump each other, that part of their relationship was put on the back burner. Grant was there as a support to Ana as she rebuilt her life and her heart in a story that was less focused on the physicality of their connection and more intent on inner strength. While the conclusion of this story was a satisfying one for the most part, I did have a problem with what befell Jason. His conclusion came out of the blue and was too cleanly tied up to be believable. Despite that small quibble I enjoyed this book and its sweet and sensual storyline that warmed my heart. Though Grant was the highlight of this story for me, his introduction of Jordie has me greatly anticipating the last book in this entertaining series that I definitely recommend next.
Loved this wonderful hot romance with Ana and Grant. He is the captain of a professional hockey team and Ana is in an abusive relationship with one of his team members. They end up together when she calls him to help her after another altercation with Jason and Grant picks her up and takes her home with him until she can get in touch with her friend which she does not that night so she stays in his guest room and never leaves. Loved their chemistry even when he tries to stay away but one night is all it takes to change their future. It is a real page turned and I could not stop until the end.
This was my second book by this author and I’m so mad at myself for not finding her sooner, especially since I love sports romance books. I will admit in the past I haven’t read a lot of hockey romance stories (mostly cause I didn’t understand the sport itself) but that is about to change! This story had a great plot, fantastic characters and some sizzling hot chemistry.
Anna is in a bad relationship with one of the newbies on the team named James, who seems to be a bit of a loose cannon with a short temper. When the team captain, Grant, ends up witnessing a small spat between the two of them he offers to drive Anna home and he gives her his number to call him if anything happens or she needs help. Grant doesn’t expect her to call, especially since they hardly know each other but when she does, he can’t help but rush over. When he fully understands what happened he feels compelled to protect Anna, so he brings her home to his place until she can figure out what to do next. When she gets some surprising news she is determined to prove how strong she can be, but in her effort to prove her independence she might just sacrifice the best friendship she has.
OMG y’all Grant was EVERYTHING you could want in a male lead!!! He is a gentleman through and through who takes in a woman who is practically a stranger and helps get her back on her feet. He has some possessive/alpha male tendencies that make he so hot and yet he is so incredibly sweet and tender too… it really is like the best of both worlds! Anna was definitely a little broken from her relationship with James at the start of the story. I loved watching her transform into a strong, fierce, female that knew she needed to learn to stand up on her own. The chemistry between these two was off the charts! They had me teetering on the edge of my seat just waiting for them to give into their feelings and when they finally did I couldn’t wait to get to their HEA!
I highly recommend this story!!!!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Another great addition to the Hot Jocks Series. I fell in Love with Grant and Ana right away and I couldn’t put the book down once I started reading it. Ana is just getting out of a bad relationship and needs a place to stay. Grant is willing to do anything to keep Ana safe even if that means letting her stay with him while she is figuring things out with her ex. The chemistry between Grant and Ana is there but both of them are to stubborn to act on there feelings for each other. This book was a great read and I don’t want to give too much away or else it might ruin the book for you.

Wild For You is my favorite in the series yet! I’ve been thinking about Ana’s story ever since we got a glimpse of her abusive boyfriend in the previous book, and this did NOT disappoint. While this isn’t your typical sports romance, more of a slow burn – I wouldn’t change a thing about it. The story line draws you in hook, line and sinker, with plenty of surprises you may see coming, but twists that will throw you for a loop. I can’t wait for the final book to release and to hear Jordie’s story!
So excited to see where this book goes! After getting a little backstory on Ana in the previous book and the abuse she’s getting from one of the players, I was so happy that someone finally got involved – especially Grant! Seeming to have the best and most level head on his shoulders out of the group, when he realizes what’s going on with Ana and one of his teammates, he steps in as best he can, and when Ana calls he goes running. Saving her, she has the hardest time accepting help, especially from a virtual stranger, but the combination works for them. While rebuilding her life, Ana gets quite the shock that involves both Grant and her ex, but I was so insanely happy with how Grant handles things, especially given his past. Nothing crazy happens in this storyline, although the ending definitely threw me a little, and I loved the journey of recovery Ana got and the support from Grant. Can’t wait for the next installment in this series – especially after the sneak peek we got in the end of this book!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Ok, I’m claiming Grant. He takes his role as Captain seriously. I think he needs to take a class on being a gentleman because his skills are impeccable. He’s a knight in shining…skates. I love how he protected Ana, and he always put her and her needs first. Love the story. Love the series. Love the characters, even if I don’t know much about hockey.
Wild for You is the 6th book in Kendall Ryan’s Hot Jocks series. If you haven’t read books 1-5 it’s ok; you can just jump right in with this book! Grant and Ana’s story was one I was looking forward to and overall, I enjoyed it.
I’ve been wanting to get more of Grant since he was first mentioned. He’s strong, serious and so protective. I fell for him right from the beginning and I didn’t stop. He was definitely a good book boyfriend.
Ana drove me a little crazy at times, I can’t lie. I didn’t always connect with her and her logic. I did like her though and rooted for her to find some happiness.
I liked these two together. I believed in their chemistry-without a doubt. They worked well together and I loved watching their relationship evolve. Again, I did have a few minor issues with Ana at times about this, but that might just be me.
The cast of supporting characters here were fun to catch up with. They didn’t overwhelm Grant and Ana-and this crew definitely could. The writing here just worked. I would happily join this little group of friends.
I’ll be sad to see this series end because I’ve enjoyed all the books. This one definitely left me with a smile on my face. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it.
Wild For You is Book 6 of Hot Jocks series by Kendall Ryan. This is Grant and Ana’s story. Grant is the mystery hockey captain while Ana is the mistreated girlfriend/ex girlfriend of Jason, one of the hockey players on the team. Due to her ex’s horrible actions, Grant was there for Ana and offered her a place and a shoulder to lean on- no expectations expected. Yet there was such sizzle and smoke between them from the start.
Grant is a classic book saviour/boyfriend. He is so swoon worthy and in control. That’s why he’s team captain.
Ana is a young, beautiful, talented massage therapist who was trying to make things work in her life and in her relationship with her ex when he did wrong. Grant offered his place temporarily and from there the story just blossomed into this amazing read. Full of feels, heartbreak, chemistry, passion, hope, joy, friendship, and love. What a great addition to the series. I enjoyed Grant and Ana’s story. I can’t wait for next book in series.
My Rating: 4.5 stars ******
This book has all the feels! Who would ever have guessed that the quiet, brooding Grant was the most gentle, loving care taker! Watching Grant and Ana evolve from acquaintances, to lovers, to friends, to an awesome, amazing family was everything. Grant was so perfect being by Ana’s side, supporting, protecting and loving her, while showing her that she could stand on her own. He just didn’t anticipate that she might really think she really needs to. Thankfully their love for each other was bigger than either could have imagined!! Kendall scored big with Grant and Ana! I miss them already!!
I’m really, really torn about the rating for this one. The first half is quite possibly some of the best work I’ve read by Kendall Ryan, with a hero I LOVED from the first page to the last. Grant is the definition of a strong, silent hero – his unwavering care for Ana was heartwarming at times and heartbreaking at others. And I absolutely loved that he was not a playboy – he’s a steadfast, dependable man with a huge heart just waiting for the right woman. I just wish that I found Ana to be a better partner for him. In the back half, she makes some decisions that I just couldn’t get behind… and everything I have to say about that would be one huge spoiler so you’ll just have to see for yourself.
The story follows Grant, the reserved captain of the hockey team we’ve come to know and love (yes, this reads as a standalone but the interconnected characters give the series a sense of completion). He’s a natural born caretaker who helps those in need and doesn’t leave much for himself. When a teammate’s girlfriend finds herself in need, Grant doesn’t hesitate to step in and help. He doesn’t realize quite what he’s in store for, and soon finds himself with a beautiful, slightly broken new roommate. It should be a burden but turns into a blessing as Grant and Ana connect and heal. But Ana just got out of a relationship and is in no place to start up something real.
Ryan handles some difficult subjects in this one with care – domestic violence is one of the key storylines – and I think she did a great job. It’s a central part of the storyline but doesn’t overtake the budding romance. No, something else does that in the second half. I won’t go into it, but the balance of push/pull was definitely off in the second half. The first 50% is near flawless, with a compelling relationship and tension that builds until it snaps. I loved, LOVED it. After the 50% mark, well, the tension was back but not in a good way. I do think it wrapped up nicely but I didn’t have the same love for it as I did at the beginning. Grant continued to give and give, and at some point I wanted him to TAKE. I still think it’s a great book; it’s just not the easy 5-star rating I thought it would be halfway in.
I ended up loving this book. I’m giving it 4.5 out of 5 stars. This review is for an ARC, and reflects my honest opinion.
We didn’t see much of Grant in previous books since he was a loner (based on his own words), so I was pleasantly surprised by how much I adored him from the start. He was a leader, super sweet, loving, etc. I can’t gush enough about him!
As for Ana, I liked her overall. My heart went out to her and everything she dealt with. However, I didn’t like how she thought, and the way she treated Grant, sometimes. But I gave her a pass since too much was on her plate, and they got their happy ending despite everything.
I can’t believe this series is almost over. It feels like just yesterday that I read the first book, and now the seventh (and final) one will be releasing soon enough. I recommend this series if you like sports romances, particularly hockey. Some books in the series were better than others in my opinion; regardless, there will be an amazing alpha man for everyone.
I’m completely addicted to this series, and this one is my favorite so far….lots of surprises I wasn’t expecting….but good ones!!!!
I love that each one of the guys gets the chance to tell their story, and it’s now Grant’s turn. He is the quieter, older captain. Some would call him distant, stubborn, and grumpy. Boy, those people don’t have a clue what a man he is. He is drop dead gorgeous, and he is also a giant. Yet underneath all of that is a gentle, loving soul just waiting to find its soulmate. He will find her in the most unexpected way.
Ana is the girlfriend of one of the newest teammates. Let’s just say he isn’t the nicest person, and Grant witnesses that one night. He rescues her and gives her his number in case she ever needs him. He really doesn’t expect her to use it, but she does. She needs help in the most desperate way, and he comes riding in like a knight in shining armor…even if he isn’t the typical “hero.”
The two become platonic roommates. He is just giving her a place to stay. I loved watching these two open up to one another, and they become such great friends. Yet, there is that crackle of electricity between them. One night the lines become blurred and nothing will be the same.
Even though Grant isn’t sure a relationship is for him, I love that he is all in with Ana. She really doesn’t want to go straight into another relationship after her ex. I can’t blame her. Ryan touches on the serious subject of domestic abuse without delving too deeply. She definitely knows the fragile state victims are in. I liked that she gave Ana the time she needed to discover who she was. Yes, Grant was the hero, but so was Ana. She was able to put herself back together again. They were a fantastic couple!!!!
Ryan is an expert at combining sweet and sexy! She can also craft a story that touches on serious subjects yet give you moments that make you laugh! They are always swoonworthy and leave me with such a warm feeling in my heart and butterflies in my stomach!!!! With this one, she has some surprises in store for you too!!! Another winner!!!!!
Sports romance is my weakness and this newest release gave me what I love and more. I been along for the ride in this series and Grant and Ana’s journey takes the top of my favorite by far. It was entertaining, heart felt, and crazy hot chemistry that will have you wanting more. The storyline was easy to read and had great flow as the characters navigate first as friends than more as they find themselves giving in to the emotions that they find themselves in. I would definitely recommend this read and can’t wait to see who finds their HEA next.
Kendall Ryan is victorious with Wild for You (Hot Jocks #6). As hockey captain for the Ice Hawks, Grant Henry, has had some interesting responsibilities. He never expected to take care of and become roommates with a teammates’ girlfriend, Ana Walsh. He knows he should stay away from her, but she makes him feels things he never thought possible. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult readers. It takes place in Seattle.
Kendall Ryan does an amazing job with this story. Ana is an admirable heroine. She is strong for getting out of a bad relationship. I like her nurturing personality. Grant is a swoon worthy hero. He typically keeps to himself. He is protective and strong. The two are good together. I like how they help each other grow. They are in an unusual situation, that makes a great story.
Wild for You is a fantastic addition to the Hot Jocks series. I enjoyed the novel. It was heartwarming and interesting. You could read it as a standalone, but I enjoyed it more since I read the rest of the series. I cannot wait for Jordan Prescott’s story, Taking His Shot. I’m sad that will be the last book in the series. I recommend this series to people who enjoy sports romances. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
I fell and I fell hard.
I don’t even know where to begin with this story. I have loved every book in this series but this one, Grant and Ana’s is just GAH!
Grant was brooding, sweet, charming, cheeky and just plain delicous.
I knew I would love his story and of course knew I would fall in love with this big brooding hockey player even more.
He had this charm about him that sweept you off your feet. He made you believe in love and prince charmings.
The way he cared for Ana made him even more lovable if that was even possible.
The depth of their love was breathtaking. The ins, the outs and the drama that lead them to the HEA you knew they deserved.
Ana was strong and confindent and I loved that about her. I felt at times she was so overwhlemed with the charms of Grant that it even made me dizzy.
She held out though and I loved that she made him work for her. Even though at times my heart broke for Grant because I wanted him happy.
These two will always have a piece of my heart because not only did they make me fall head over heels in love with them countless times they made me gush, smile, laugh and finish this book with hearts in my eyes.
Fall in love with Grant because trust me you won’t be able to help yourself.
Grant, *sigh*. Everyone needs a Hot Jock!
I can’t believe this is our sixth Hot Jock! These hockey players are so swoony and I have fallen in love with every single one; Grant is no exception. He was absolutely AMAZING with everything that Ana was going through.
Grant and Ana’s story covers a lot deeper, and more serious, topics than some of the other books in this series of standalones but I ended up really enjoying the way things went regarding these topics. There was so much heartbreak for both of these characters and I loved watching them learn to work together to overcome their pasts and find a happily ever after.
I will say, Ana drove me a bit crazy in the second half of the story. The tension between her and Grant was a little too frustrating for my liking and I feel like Ana could have prevented a lot of it.
This was such an enjoyable sports romance and I can’t wait get my hands on Jordie’s story next!
Grateful to have received a complimentary ARC copy to honestly review.
Kendall Ryan did a great job on this story. Wild For You had a strong plot and characters. The story was written well. Grant and Ana were made for each other, they may have had their ups and downs but they were drawn to one another. Their attraction was strong, so wasn’t their connection. The chemistry between them was off the charts, it was sexy. They were great together. I enjoyed their journey. This was a great story.
Thank you, Kendall Ryan. Great work 🙂
When Ana is pushed to the end of her rope by her abusive boyfriend she calls the only guy she can think of. Grant is the captain of the Ice Hawks hockey team. When Ana calls him to get her he can’t refuse.
A great romance. Ana is so vulnerable yet strong at the same time. Grant is a teddy bear hiding behind a taciturn exterior. I loved how he was 100% all in. A great steamy read with heart!
