A hot new standalone in the series that’s been called “A total, utter must read.” – Book Fanatic
He’s growly. Grumpy. Stubborn.
And now, my new roommate.
Walking away from my disastrous last relationship was an easy decision, but moving in with a friend-of-a-friend hockey star who’s rarely home? Not quite as simple, because Grant makes me feel all kinds of things I’m not prepared for.
… not prepared for.
Protected. Desired. Unsteady.

She’s beautiful. Smart. Tempting.
And a little fragile.
I’ve never been anyone’s knight in shining armor, but when Ana needed a place to stay, it was easy to offer her a room with me.
Not so simple, though, is keeping my hands—or my mouth—to myself. And the night she crawls into my bed and shares her body with me? Heaven.
But she’s not looking for a relationship, and to my surprise, I find myself pissed off by that idea.
They say my heart is broken, that I’ll never settle down. I used to think that was true. Now, though? Hell, your guess is as good as mine.
First, she took my bed.
Then she took my heart.
Then she took my everything.
Your favorite hot jocks are back with an all new standalone novel. If you like sexy, confident men who know how to handle a stick (on and off the ice), and smart women who are strong enough to keep all those big egos in check, this series is for you!

“Wild For You” Book 6 of Kendall Ryan’s Hot Jocks Series is an interesting read on so many different levels. It’s a hockey romance which is my very favorite kind and as such satisfied my craving for that but it’s also a very serious read as it deals with domestic violence.
Ana is in an abusive relationship with her hockey playing boyfriend. After a particularly disturbing episode she gathers the courage to leave him. Grant, her boyfriend’s teammate is there to help her. She is grateful for his presence and leans on him during this difficult time. Grant is 32 and the team Captain. As one of the older members of the team he is serious and somewhat of a loner. Grant has a secret, he’s attracted to Ana, has been since he first met her and when she needs help, he is there for her.
There is so much to love about Grant, he’s sweet, generous and loving. He wears his heart on his sleeve and his devotion to Ana is unconditional. He makes my heart swoon.
Ana is a tough nut to crack. My heart went out to her especially in the beginning, as the issue of abuse is one that is close to my heart. But, and there is a but, I had a hard time accepting her actions later on and was happy to see her redeem herself in my eyes by the end of the book.
Grant and Ana do get their happily ever after and when they did, it made my heart happy. TBR and enjoy and if you haven’t read Books 1 to 5 of this series, TBR as well.
I absolutely LOVED Grant and Ana’s story! If you want a story that will hit you with ALL THE FEELS then read Wild for You, Kendall scored a goal with this one! Each couple’s story gets better and better, each book has me saying this is my favorite but honestly this one was raw, emotional, real and had me hanging on to every word from beginning to end. Not quite sure how Kendall is going to top grump, broody, loveable Grant and sweet, kind, strong Ana but I’m ready to see what she has in store for us with Jordie’s story!
Yet again Ms Ryan took me away from the real world and had me losing myself in the pages of this book. I don’t know how she does it but each book in this series is very hard to put down and Wild For You even more so.
I have a thing for hockey players, I inhale any romance that’s hockey related so it’s not a surprise that the Hot Jocks series is one of my favourites. With each book I find a new favourite player to lust over but I’ve never lusted like I did over Grant. Big, growly, grumpy Grant whose babies I want to have. I’m beyond infatuated with him (also think now’s the time to maybe get some help with my ‘issues’ ). Not only is he hot (so very, very hot) but he’s kind, patient and sweet lord I want one for myself. Obviously I can’t get past how perfect Grant is to write a review so I’m just going to say this. Go buy the book. Go hide away with a drink and your kindle and lose yourself for a few hours in this book and in all things Grant. You won’t be disappointed.
Wild For You was such a sensual and slow burn!! Sensuality at its finest!! Soft and tantalizing! Kendall Ryan wraps you in a warm embrace with her words, that are so gratifying to the senses!! Emotional, passionate, and loving!! Fantastic story!!
This book put me through the emotional ringer!! It was definitely a very heart wrenching but also incredibly heart warming story that had my heart go in so many directions!
I’m convinced Grant is a big giant teddy bear hockey player! This book has solidified that thought!
I loved the fact he helped Ana! I thought she was incredibly strong despite what she goes through and I definitely admired her for her strength to forge on in her life!
What I really loved about this book was the friendships and support from various characters and how its important to all of us who is beside you in hard times!
This book was absolutely incredibly beautiful and one of the best books I have read this year! I couldn’t put it down and read it in one sitting! The world ceased to exist around me whilst reading!!
A book so worth letting the world be but a memory for just a little while! You won’t regret it!
Quite simply I loved this book. I thought that Grant and Ana were so perfect together and trust me when I say that their story will tug at your heartstrings. I felt that Grant was a King among book boyfriends. He may have been a bit grumpy, reserved and somewhat of a loner but he was also very sweet, a natural caretaker, protective, supportive, truly kind and had a gigantic heart. This was one epically swoon worthy hero! I liked Ana and I felt for her. I tried worked really hard to try to always take her history into consideration but I will not lie and say that I didn’t get frustrated with her. I could totally understand her fears and reservations but it didn’t make me any happier about her dragging her feet in some ways and yet being so accepting in others. I hate to say that occasionally I felt she was using Grant but sadly, I did feel that way sometimes. In spite of this, I still thought this was an exceptionally enjoyable read. I am electing to post a truthful review.
Kendall Ryan really punched me in the feels with this one.
Ana was a beautiful soul and i felt bad for her i really did but she always was so strong and held her head up.
Her situation was horrible but it pushed her in the right direction.
Grant was amazing.
He was a man of few words but he’s one of those strong silent types. He listens and is there anything better than that?
I loved their relationship, it wasn’t easy but Grant being they way he is was amazing.
They didn’t so much have the witty banter between them but this book felt more serious than the others.
I loved it so much but i also has that bittersweet feeling to it knowing it’s so near the end.
I’m looking forward to Jordie’s book.
This is one of those series that gets better with each book and for me Wild for You is the best so far, like all the others I was captivated and drawn in but I have to say Grant really stole a piece of my heart. Grant and Ana’s story is an emotional one and it will certainly pull on your heartstrings as he becomes her hero even when they both know maybe the timing isn’t quite right…..
I loved Grant for being the knight in shining armour and I loved Ana for being strong enough to walk away from a man she once loved who was now someone very different.
Ms Ryan does an amazing job with a subject many authors would shy away from, she describes the domestic violence issue with compassion and dignity, her character Ana is someone who many will look up to with her strength and determination. What else is there for me to say apart from I highly recommend this story and it’s a great addition to the Hot Jocks Series

I have to say I am loving the Hot Jocks Series by Kendall Ryan, but I think Wild For You is my least favorite of the series so far.
Now that isn’t to say I didn’t like this book, because I did…..Grant was AMAZING!!! but I think Ana is why I didn’t connect with this book as well as I did with the previous books. This one also took on a more serious tone compared to the other books in this series, in my opinion. I didn’t find myself laughing as much in this one.
Wild For You is the 6th book in this series. This is Grant’s book. He is the Captain of the Seattle hockey team all the guys play on. We don’t get much of Grant in previous books, but we know he is moody and kind of closed off. Well that changes in this book. We get the full extent of Grant and I thought he was AMAZING!!!
This is an interconnected standalone novel. They can each be read in any order, but to truly understand and appreciate this series, I would recommend reading them in order. This book is told in Dual POV, so we get to see more of Ana as well. My heart broke for both of these characters for different reasons. But I will say that in the end my heart was put back together and I had a huge smile on my face!!!
As I said earlier, I think this book had a lot more of the deeper feels associated to this storyline. The back story for both Ana and Grant was heartbreaking, but it was great to see how far they have both grown. I kind of wished there would’ve been a few more comedic spots in this story to break up the serious tone of the story at times. But I still enjoyed this book and believe everyone needs to meet GRANT!!!!
As with every book Kendall releases, we got a wonderful read. If you love a sports romance novel, then this is the series you should read!! Kendall has created such an amazing hockey world. I love getting lost in their world!!!
I’ve been waiting for Grant and his grumpy self since he was first introduced. This book was the most anticipated of the series for me. What was unexpected? Ana.
Ana is the girlfriend of one of the other guys on the team, Jason. Jason is fair from a great catch to be nice about how I truly feel. Grant feels the need to help Ana after a party and gives her a ride. Little did he know how much that one ride would change him.
I felt for Ana. She went through a lot and I like that Kendall didn’t sugarcoat things, she didn’t brush over it quickly. Ana experienced what many women do and she is a survivor and a fighter. Grant is a grump, the team captain and he keeps to himself for the most part, but he is really just a big ol’ teddy bear. Ana and Grant had chemistry from the moment they met. Grant felt protective, he wanted to make sure she was safe.
Another unexpected character is the rookie on the team, Jordie. He felt like a little brother to Grant. They have a bond that neither of them shares with the other players on the team. I can’t wait to see where his story leads!
Wild for You is another great addition to the Hot Jocks series!
Overall Grade:
I am a glutton for a sports romance. For a sports romance to “work,” I don’t need the sport to infiltrate the story. I mean, it adds some layers to the story, but it’s really the hero and heroine’s connection that gets me. Usually, sports romance heroes have this self-assuredness that can translate as “cockiness” which comes closest to my favorite type of hero, the alpha-hole. In my reflection, I think that’s why I love sports romances so much. However, there is my second favorite type of hero: the type of guy who is incredibly masculine but who has a special kind of compassion and empathy that he, to a certain degree, sacrifices a bit of himself to care deeply for his heroine. They aren’t “soft,” just caring to a degree that makes a woman swoon.
With Kendall Ryan’s Hot Jocks series, she has offered us a variety of heroes. Prior to her forthcoming book, Wild for You, my favorite Hot Jocks hero has been Owen. Part of this has to do with his relationship with Becca. Given her background, Owen who was formerly a player falls deeply and embodies the hero I’ve described above. He becomes transformed, still incredibly masculine, but nurturing and thoughtful as a way to help Becca overcome her past. He made my heart expand and open as he loved Becca hard through her pain, and I have declared him the BEST hero in the Hot Jocks series. Until now.
Wild for You offers us Grant, the captain of the team. From the other books in the series, we know he’s broody, sullen, quiet, a man of few words, and he tends toward being a loner. He’s absolutely dependable. Yet, it’s difficult to get a read on him because he keeps to himself…until he doesn’t. In Down and Dirty, Kendall Ryan reveals a bit of Grant’s nature: he’s a caretaker. When Ana, one of the girlfriends of a newer player on the hockey team, is abandoned by her mean-spirited boyfriend, Grant steps in and takes her home. It’s a revelation that there is a deeper layer to Grant than previously believed. As we know, grumpy heroes typically hide a depth not initially seen.
As Wild for You begins, Ana finds herself in a problematic position with her boyfriend. Once again, Grant steps in and manages the situation, as a means to help her through it. We realize quickly that Grant carries a torch for Ana, but his integrity keeps those feelings in check. As the story progresses, Grant’s character is revealed, and he is NOW my favorite Hot Jocks hero. From page one until the end, Grant is a dream. He is a nice guy, but that persona is wrapped in a protective barrier of grumpy quietude. As such, it gives him enough edge that the “nice guy” doesn’t read anemic. There is so much to love about him that, in my opinion, he’s the best part of Wild for You.
Now, I hate to ever disparage a heroine. I rarely do since there is usually something important about her journey. This is definitely the case with Ana. There are moments in the story where you find yourself frustrated with her because she keeps Grant at arm’s length. She makes it difficult for him to be his best person. However, her story is an important one. Ana’s former boyfriend was abusive. Given this situation, she has a need for independence. While we, the readers, see the incomparable Grant as her soulmate, Ryan intentionally creates space between these two so that Ana has the space to heal, eventually ending up with her soulmate. This space can be frustrating in the storytelling, but it’s necessary towards developing more layers in Ana’s character. It also creates the tension of the story which moves us through the story quickly, ravenous for their happy ending.
I have enjoyed each of the books in Kendall Ryan’s Hot Jocks series, but Owen and Becca’s All the Way had held my top spot over the other five. Then, Grant poured his heart all over Wild for You, and this big sullen guy stole my heart and the top spot from Owen. For me, this is the best book of the bunch (there is one more coming, but it’s going to be a hard sell to uncrown Grant). It has the depth of story like Owen and Becca’s as it handles the important serious topic of domestic abuse. However, while Owen’s transformation was profound, Grant’s compassion and care for Ana, hidden behind his walls, made my heart ache for him over and over again. I’m going to be sad to see this crew of hockey players and their significant others go, but Kendall Ryan is leaving some of the best for last.
I have been wondering when we would be able to get our hands on Grant’s story. And let me just say it was soooo worth the wait. I could not have loved it more.
Grant and Ana are amazing together and I couldn’t help but root for them to find the HEA from the very beginning. I won’t go into the story line as I am afraid to give anything away but I will say that this one was sweet, sexy and will have you fanning your face all while falling head over heals in love.
I highly recommend picking this one up today. You won’t be sorry!
5 Star Review Wild For You (Hot Jocks #6) by Kendall Ryan
I was so excited to dive in to Grant and Ana’s story and although it starts of a little differently than most romances, it certainly was a book that resonated with me and I was fully invested from the first to the last chapter.
Grant becomes a knight in shining armour and swoops in to help Ana out of a difficult position. His chivalrous behaviour leads to a more permanent relationship for Grant and Ana.
Oh how I fell for Grant, he is swoon worthy, with a heart of gold, something he keeps hidden under a stoic exterior as the team captain. There were times that my heart just about broke for both Ana and Grant, they have both been through a lot, and yet they have the strength to move forward. The connection and friendship that Grant and Ana have was heartwarming and I was cheering for them to get their happily ever after.
Kendall Ryan tackles the issue of domestic violence with dignity and care and I applaud Ana’s strength and determination to get out of the violent relationship she has survived. I loved how determined she was to stand on her own and valued her independence, I also loved how all in Grant was.
The chemistry between Grant and Ana sizzled and Wild For You was a great addition to the Hot Jock series and I cannot wait to read the next book in the series.
Ana and Grant’s story is a real rollercoaster and Ana in particular has been through so much before it even begins. They click right away and their chemistry is off the charts, but there are so many reasons not to act on it. Grant knows she’s vulnerable after finally leaving her abusive ex so he’s on his best behavior, staying firmly in the friend zone, until the night she seduces him, begging him for more.
They insist it won’t happen again, but things only get more complicated and they’re each other’s weakness. Ana is breaking Grant’s heart by keeping him at a distance, but she needs to stand on her own two feet and not just move on to another relationship right away. She needs to do this for herself and it’s for the best, but it was sad watching Grant’s heart break because he’s so sweet and he truly loves her. Their story isn’t as lighthearted as the others I’ve read from this series but I enjoyed it every bit as much. They’re both great characters and I love how the story ends.
This book has a lot of ups and downs. Loved Grant! He is the silent broody type but also the care taker and the dad of the team as captain. Ana the girlfriend of one of his teammates, is in a horrible abusive relationship. He has always been attracted to her but kept it respectful distance until she needed his help from an explosive argument with Jason. Rant rides in and saves the day. I loved his control seeing as how she was so freshly skittish and used to outbursts. I liked them together. They gelled. I just got frustrated with her always pushing him away. It was this instance where she was breaking his heart. And after everything he had done I wasn’t happy. Granted he never expected reciprocation for his offers and she never wanted to use him but it kinda felt that way. Especially when she leaves. But I also get her wanting to be strong and be able to take care of her self after everything that went down. But the way she went about things sucked. Not telling him until the day before she was moving etc. glad it all worked out. Loved the ending!! Can’t wait for jordie!!
3.5 stars. I am disappointed in this book. I really enjoyed the rest of the series. This book started off good but dragged after that and I could not connect well with the characters’ romance. I loved Grant but Ana not so much. Grant is the captain of the hockey team and gives Ana a ride home from a team event one evening. He also gives her his phone number if she needs anything. Anna is dating one of the rookie players on Grant’s team. Ana calls Grant after a domestic violence incident and she ends up living with him. Then there is an accidental pregnancy. The domestic violence was an odd choice in this book. I’ve seen it used well in other books but in this story it seemed like an accessory for Ana and only brought out when she had to deal with her ex. It should have been an integral part of the story and Ana’s character development since that’s the reason she left her boyfriend after two years. Despite my disappointment with this book, since I loved the rest of this series and this author, I’ll assume this is an anomaly and continue reading the series.
Brilliant.
Just let me say this first…I LOVE GRANT !!!!..
OMG he made me swoon so much, the things he did and said to Ana just melted my heart.
He is the known for being grumpy and keeping himself to himself he doesn’t really socialise with the rest of The Hockey team he is captain to…But when he helps Ana escape from her abusive boyfriend, she brings out the caring protective side to him.
He comes out of himself and under Grant’s care Ana becomes more sure of herself feels safe and regains her independence.
I loved the way Grant treated Ana with love and respect, even when it hurt him to let her go ,he did so she could discover she could be her own person and take care of herself.
There is no doubt about the attraction beteween them and they cross the line between their new friendship. The story took a surprising turn also and the way Grant handled it made me love him more.
Kendall Ryan has done it again, her writing made my romantic heart so happy.
I LOVED and enjoyed this book so so much.
Highly recommend it.
5 Stars.
I have read the other books in the Hot Jocks series, and Wild For You is a standalone, but with interconnected with characters from the previous books. I have been waiting for Grant Henry’s story! He’s the 32 year-old Captain of the professional Seattle Ice Hawks series, and is a pillar of strength and fortitude. He’s been there, done that with all that came with his popularity, and is now focused on his career and being a role model to his teammates. I love how he is a bit introverted, always observing with an inner strength and confidence. He’s humble and stoic, a great leader, responsible and brave, and I just loved that about him.
I so enjoyed the vignettes when past characters were introduced–Justin Brady and Elise, Owen Parrish and Becca, Teddy King and Sara, Asher Reed and Bailey, Morgen and Isla, Landon and Abree, and upon reflection, when he sees all his buddies happy and in a relationship, Grant realizes he is lonely and would like a family of his own one day, and opens up his home to Ana Walsh, our heroine, after learning she was in a toxic relationship with one of his teammates, Jason Kress.
Grant may be a bit passive when not on the ice, but man oh man, all my girlie parts tingled when he went into protective mode! Grant may be a bit passive when not on the ice, but man oh man, all my girlie parts tingled when he went into protective mode! He drove her home after a party one night, and selflessly and instinctively told her to call him should she need help. He wasn’t overbearing, but firm, and Ana never felt so safe. I give her props for being strong enough to leave Jason and knowing she deserved a better life. It wasn’t easy, but Grant made it very easy for her offering her protection plus a safe haven so she’d never have to return.
This slow-burn is where Kendall writes her magic. These two virtual strangers were now living with each other, and it was really beautiful to read them lifting each other up, emotionally supporting one another, and becoming friends. He not only financially supported her, he stood by her like a true hero, and let her know her worth time and time again. He had been smitten with her before, but now that he and Ana were living in such close proximity, their insane chemistry heated up the pages, and their relationship became intimate.
I loved how respectful and patient Grant was putting her needs first, and it was a true testament to his character and maturity. Ana did work hard to improve her situation and become more independent, but she didn’t have the same trust in their relationship, and her actions in one of the chapters toward the end really surprised me. But as in any good book, there is always conflict, forgiveness, character growth, and a deep physical and emotional connection, and this book has it all. Kendall never disappoints as these two do get their well-deserved HEA!
Hot Jocks #6 This time up is Ana and Grant. Grant (Hawks Captain) and Ana who moved to Seattle to be with her Hawks boyfriend. But things are always what them seem. Grant was interested in Ana but come between her and her boyfriend his team mate, until he needed too. Out of the series I think this one was my favorite.
Wow! The story of Grant and Ana rips at your soul in such a good way. Ana is so fragile and almost broken. Grant is stubborn and holds his feelings so tightly inside that they should not work as a couple but the magic that is love washes away all of their restraints and brings them together. Sure, I was ticked at Ana for unintentionally seemingly leading Grant on. She could have realized her error sooner rather than later but then the story would not have given my heart all the goosebumps. The writing and character development are perfect. The storyline carries elements of uniqueness and freshness. The emotions are present and run deep. Grant is a personal favorite. He is sweet, stubborn, caring, present, loving and so dang patient with Ana. He has backbone though. He is loving and caring towards his family, his teammates, as well as strangers. I love this book and I am in book hangover mode.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
