A hot new standalone in the series that’s been called “A total, utter must read.” – Book Fanatic
He’s growly. Grumpy. Stubborn.
And now, my new roommate.
Walking away from my disastrous last relationship was an easy decision, but moving in with a friend-of-a-friend hockey star who’s rarely home? Not quite as simple, because Grant makes me feel all kinds of things I’m not prepared for.
… not prepared for.
Protected. Desired. Unsteady.
• • •
She’s beautiful. Smart. Tempting.
And a little fragile.
I’ve never been anyone’s knight in shining armor, but when Ana needed a place to stay, it was easy to offer her a room with me.
Not so simple, though, is keeping my hands—or my mouth—to myself. And the night she crawls into my bed and shares her body with me? Heaven.
But she’s not looking for a relationship, and to my surprise, I find myself pissed off by that idea.
They say my heart is broken, that I’ll never settle down. I used to think that was true. Now, though? Hell, your guess is as good as mine.
First, she took my bed.
Then she took my heart.
Then she took my everything.

I love a good sports romance, and hockey is my all-time favorite sport, so it was a given that I’d be reading Kendall Ryan’s Hot Jocks series. I have loved every single book in the series so far, but Grant and Ana’s story is hands-down my favorite. Each of the standalone stories in this series have been wholly entertaining page turners full of heat, heartfelt emotion and plenty of humor. These are definitely lighter-hearted, easy reads, but there is substance to these stories and the characters are completely endearing.
Ana and Grant’s story touches on a sensitive theme, and while Kendall doesn’t delve too deeply into that topic, readers definitely know what Ana experienced and where she is mentally after extricating herself from that situation. Grant, the grouchy, brooding, keeps-to-himself captain of the team, rides into Ana’s rescue, and a friendship is born. The problem is that there is also some serious chemistry crackling right along with those friendship vibes. I loved Grant, and the thing that surprised me the most about him was how gentle, tender, thoughtful and caring he was under all of that growling, mountain of a hockey-player exterior. I loved every second of Ana and Grant inching their way through a friendship toward a loving and beautiful romantic relationship.
Wild For You was such a sweet, sexy love story that I devoured in a day—I simply didn’t want to put it down. The longing, the lust, and the love building between Grant and Ana was absolutely everything, and I couldn’t get enough of this couple and their heartwarming story. Five stars for Wild For You by Kendall Ryan!
~Danielle Palumbo
Wild for You is a good read. It’s book six in the Hot Jocks series but it can be read as a standalone. Each book covers a different couple. Ana is in a relationship but when she needs help she calls
Grant. Grant is a great guy. He’s one of the good guys. I so liked these two and was rooting for them right from the start. Ana has a lot of stuff she going through and some of it surprised me. Ana is strong and wants to take care of herself before jumping into a relationship. I loved how their relationship is slow and goes from friendship to more.
4 1/2 Stars!
The latest standalone in Kendall Ryan’s Hot Jocks series is a treat for everyone who loves the hero who doesn’t think he’s a hero kind of guy. From the first page, you see how Grant takes care of business and the people around him. When Ana needs a place to stay, of course Grant says yes. Their solo journeys and shared experiences are emotionally charged, steamy, and heartwarming.
It is always the quite ones you need to look out for .. with Grant though you want to see this big, hot, sexy hockey player coming as he is a big teddy bear and light on his feet.
After all that Ana has gone through with her violent relationship with Jason, Grant is just what the doctor orders. She try’s to keep Grant in the friend zone and be strong enough to live on her own to prove to herself she can do it .. BUT .. when a little bump in the road happens Grant is right there to help her along the way !!
The caring and thoughtfulness for each other that these two characters have is outstanding .. just wish like any other character is .. tell each other how you feel .. Love is always LOVE !
Seeing every one in the team helping and supporting each other is just what FAMILY does for each other !! Amazing job Kendall !!
Squee! Wild for You is another awesome story in a series full of them. Each one of these books are unique, lighthearted, steamy and an absolute pleasure to read. I simply can’t get enough of these sexy and swoon worthy hockey stars and the women who manage to capture their hearts. I am completely and utterly addicted to them.
This story follows Grant and Ana. Grant is the captain of the hockey team and a natural born leader who’s always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. When he feels that his teammate’s girlfriend may be in some trouble, he doesn’t hesitate to jump in and help. But when he discovers just how bad her situation is, he brings her home to stay with him. There with him, she is able to heal and bring herself to sever the abusive relationship that she was in. The sweet friendship between these two quickly turns physical and feelings start to develop. The only problem? She isn’t ready to jump into another relationship so soon.
I absolutely loved Wild for You! In fact, it might just be my new favorite in the series. I will say Ana frustrated me at times though. I kept screaming in my head at her to open her heart to this kind, gentle and loving man. He was the perfect hero and had a heart of gold, but yet she kept pushing him away. It took her a while to get there, but once she did, she was all in. If you’re looking for a story that’s heartfelt and beautiful, then be sure and pick this one up. 5 stars for Ana, Grant and Wild for You!
4.5 Stars!
Wild For You is the 6th book in the Hot Jocks Series, but can be read and enjoyed as a standalone novel. Ana and Grant’s story is captivating and such a sweet and unexpected read!
Wild For You follows the story of Ana and Grant. When we first meet up with Ana, she is in a rocky relationship with one of Grant’s teammates. On a particularly stressful night out with the team and their families, Ana’s boyfriend goes off the rails and Grant gives her the shoulder she needs to lean on. He offers her his number and tells her to call him, if she ever needs help. Little did he know that call would come sooner rather than later…Their situation was only supposed to be temporary; offering her a place to live and a chance to get back on her feet. But, Grant makes Ana feels things she hasn’t felt before. She’s not looking for a relationship, but Grant might just prove to be far too tempting to say no to…..
Overall, I really enjoyed Wild For You. I appreciated the way the author dealt with the difficult and sensitive material. She made the characters feel real and raw. I loved how big Grant’s heart was and the protectiveness he felt for Ana. He was so sweet and so patient. He gave Ana everything she didn’t know she needed. And Ana…I love how independent she was, even if it was frustrating at times. She wanted to take her time with Grant and not rush things. The chemistry between Ana and Grant was definitely off the charts, but had an amazing slow burn. I loved all of their will they/won’t they moments and all of the ups and downs in between.
Ana and Grant’s story hooked from the very first page and I easily finished it in a single sitting. I loved the characters and the story-line. I loved seeing all the familiar faces from stories past. I loved the sense of family from Grant’s team and how supportive Ana’s father was. I fell head over heels for Ana & Grant and loved seeing them tackle the cards that life dealt them. Their story had my emotions all over the place in the best possible way and I loved every single second of it.
** Spoiler free review **
I have read all the books so far in this series. But for personal reasons this is my favorite. Though it’s not completely about the subjects
Grant just amazed me. In front of his team he a;ways has to be all business after all he is the captain. BUT for some reason Ana makes him different. And trust me that is a great thing.
Family Of Your Own
The elusive hockey captain you’ve been wondering about finally gets his story and you will LOVE HIM!
The totally hot, quiet, older and wiser hockey team captain finally found his reason to smile. Ana is going to give him everything he’s ever dreamed of having.
Ana is stuck in an abusive relationship until the day she’s had enough and finally walks away. With no family close by and an ex who is trying to find her, Grant gives her a safe place to stay.
It’s only supposed to be temporary until Ana gets on her feet. They quickly fall into a domestic routine and become friends. Grant is the kindness she’s always desired but never knew existed. He’s a big, intimidating guy but a total teddy bear when it comes to her. It’s easy to fall in love with him.
Grant and Ana have chemistry and share an intense connection. Physical intimacy was inevitable, but Ana is not looking for a relationship. She wants to make sure she can stand on her own before she ventures into anything new. If only her plan was that easy. An unexpected surprise changes everything. She wants to be independent while he wants her to be his everything.
Ana is strong and resilient. A young woman who wants to do better and be capable of standing on her own. Grant has a bit of a hero complex. He loves caring for others and fixing their problems. He’ll have to learn balance between being supportive and letting Ana take the lead.
I have enjoyed every book in this series. Each couple brings the heat and a whole lot of love. This is a one sitting read that will leave you smiling with a happy heart. There are some surprise moments, interlaced with some drama that will keep you reading until the last page. A great couple that deals with relevant issues and finds their HEA.
Love often comes from the family of your own making. The people who support you unconditionally and love all of you. Grant and Ana wouldn’t want it any other way.
What a sweet book! Ana is the kind of character you’ll immediately love. She really grows into herself in this story, albeit a bit frustrating at times lol. And Grant….. grouchy, surly, loner Grant. There’s so much more to him and he really just needed that perfect person for him. Their chemistry was a slow burn but exploded with steam when ignited. Terrific story line, terrific characters, and I can’t wait for the next book.
I have been DYING for Grant’s story since we were first introduced to him and let me tell you, Kendall Ryan does NOT disappoint with him. He is so mysterious and while his backstory was heartbreaking, I love that it was also not the focus. It was moving forward and being that man for Ana. My heart broke for Ana so much through part of this story. With everything that she has gone through, she ends up being a bit of a spitfire that Grant needs in his life. They compliment each other so well. Their passion is pure fire. Their connection is spell binding.
Overall, I think Grant owns my heart. I mean ALL the boys in this series are absolute epic and I want them all to myself. But there is just something about Grant that makes me want to keep him for myself. The storyline, the whole concept, is raw and emotional, but also freeing for Ana. You could feel her emotions through it and I absolutely could not put it down. Well, I had to because I was about to drop my tablet on my face because I was falling asleep as it was so late. But this story is one that I will remember for a while. I am so excited for the next book with Jordie but also gonna be sad because then the series will be over. But if you haven’t read any of these books, you need to! This series is one of my favorites ever!
I received a complimentary ARC – early release copy of this book in Kindle format from the author for review purposes.
This was a really different story in the series and I really enjoyed it. It stars Ana, who is living with and dating Jason who is a hockey player. He is a jerk and so one night Grant, the team captain gives her a ride home. He gives her his number incase she ever needs to reach a friend.
One night she ends up calling him for help and he comes and rescues her. She ends up moving in with him. He really enjoys having her for roomie as he was very lonely but she is just getting over a bad relationship and so they end up being just friends.
I LOVED Grant, he is a big strong guy and he really is there for Ana in every single way. Ana I had more issues with. She has this guy begging for a chance and she is very stubborn about not even dating him. They were so great together so I am not sure how she resisted. It was a very sweet story and I really enjoyed it.
Another Stanley Cup winner in the world of books by Kendall Ryan!
Grant is the grumpy team captain, but he’s a teddy bear in a grizzly costume! He’s sweet and caring and loving to the ones near his heart!
Ana needed help being in a precarious situation and Grant jumps in and offers his help!
The chemistry between these two is there, but also you can feel it’s more. I love how they have a growing friendship.
Again, Kendall Ryan writes a perfect mix of everything I want in a book. Loved Ana & Grant’s story! Can’t wait for the next book in this series, even tho this will be the last one!
Wild For You is up there as one of my favorites of the series. I love Grant. He seems/acts a bit grumpy and serious, but he can also be very caring and protective. I loved reading about him and being in his head, he’s a wonderful guy. Ana is sweet and tough. She doesn’t deserve to have gone through what she has, no one does. Grant is the perfect guy for her and helps make her feel safe and protected. Ana was just a little frustrating for not noticing what was right in front of her, but I’ll give her some slack, she has her reasons. They have an interesting relationship with one another for sure. The storyline was different and I enjoyed that. There was at least one thing that came as a surprise to me and almost out of nowhere. The end seemed to be faster paced with time going by quickly, which threw me off slightly. Overall it was a very enjoyable and cute book with a bit of emotion. *I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.*
Wild For You is the sixth book in the Hot Jocks series. Each book can be read as standalone but I highly recommend reading the series since they are all fantastic. Seriously, I am addicted to this series and I have been waiting for Grant’s story, the quiet and protective Captain of this badass hockey team. And let me tell you, it was so worth the wait!
Grant noticed her a year ago but she was off-limits being a teammate’s girlfriend. Even if she was single he doubted he would do anything about it. He didn’t date. He didn’t do one-night stands. He was just single and ok with it. His team was his family and at thirty-two he didn’t think he would have more. In the last year he rarely spoke to her. That was until her boyfriend made an ass out of himself and his need to protect her kicked in. Then just a few days later…she moved in with him. It was to kept her safe. To be her friend. Except, he also had not so friendly thoughts of her. He knew he was in trouble…
She was grateful for Grant’s kindness. She barely said two words to the man before the night everything changed. She didn’t know much about him except he was the captain of her now ex-boyfriend’s hockey team and he wasn’t a big talker. Except now being in his home, she felt comfortable and saw all of Grant’s sides. She wasn’t ready to jump into another relationship and she didn’t want Grant to be just a rebound. She was confused with her feelings towards the man. What she did know was that he made her feel wanted. Cherished. Safe.
Will she make the final jump? Will he be there to catch her?
Awe!!! I have always liked Grant and now I am fully in love with him. And Ana is definitely not what he expected and I didn’t either. She is stronger than she believes. Beautiful inside and out. Together, they have obstacles to get through. Walls to climbs. Through it all, they are there for each other no matter what.
Quotes:
“Well, I only give massages to people I like,” I say, realizing a moment too late that I’ve said too much.
“Then I’m honored.” Grant’s tone is careful, as if he’s only saying half of what he’s thinking.
“It’s okay to be scared,” he murmurs, pressing his lips against my hair.
“I never took you for someone who likes to dance,” she says, her brown eyes glittering at me.
I lift one shoulder. “Believe me, I’m not. You in this dress, though . . .” I give her a heated look. “Let’s just say it’s inspiring me.”
5 Stars!
Ana Walsh is a massage therapist who moved from Las Vegas to Seattle to be with her boyfriend. When everything begins to fall apart she decides to walk away from a bad situation. She’s feeling a little fragile, and not sure where to turn when a practical stranger shows her kindness, and offers her a place to stay. This gorgeous, thoughtful man is a bit gruff, but a good guy. He’s a man of few words, but he provides her with a level of comfort and care she isn’t used to.
Grant Henry is the captain of the professional hockey team the Seattle Ice Hawks. His career is everything to him, and he’s considered a bit of a mystery to most. He’s an elusive loner who is often grumpy. He’s never been anyone’s knight in shining armor, but when a friend of a friend is in a bind and needs help, he offers up his spare bedroom.
Ana’s new roommate has a quiet strength she begins to count on, and he makes her feel things she isn’t prepared for. She feels desire, and a new excitement, but right now she needs to focus on herself and trying to get her life back on track. The problem is the growing attraction between them just keeps getting stronger. This deliciously sexy man has become her protector, her friend, and a temptation she can no longer resist.
Grant wants Ana to be his, but feels put in the friend zone. She’s not looking for a relationship, but things are extremely complicated between them. Soon he’s in over his head with her, and she owns his heart completely.
Wild For You (Hot Jocks #6) by Kendall Ryan is an emotional, sweet standalone story about friendship, trust, intense connections, and explosive chemistry. This book was fantastic and is now my favorite in the series. Grant is a character you can’t help love. He’s dreamy, swoony perfection!!!
Wild for Grant! Bring on the swoon! “Wild For You” was absolutely amazing and I had a hard time putting it down. This is hockey romance at its best. As Grant and Ana finally get their story.
Grant is the Team Captain, who has been in the background through most of this series. He is such a surprise. I fell completely for this brooding, stubborn, responsible, caring, and vulnerable, charmer of a man. He will absolutely steal your heart.
When Grant come to Ana’s aid in her time of need with nothing but concern for her well being. The sincere affection, and the heat between these two sizzles, and I loved how caring and patient Grant was with Ana, even though her situation was a delicate one. His support and protection makes him without a doubt one of the swooniest, most adorable book boyfriends I have ever come across. But what can he do when Ana doesn’t want a relationship? You will need to read this to get all the juicy details.
Characters that will touch your heart and a romance that will leave you breathless.

Grant Is Phenomenal! In Grant And Ana’s Angsty Story, The Quiet Team Captain Of The Seattle Ice Hawks Rescues Ana From An Abusive Relationship And Helps Her Pick Up The Pieces.
This is book six of the Hot Jocks series about the men of pro hockey’s Seattle Ice Hawks. Each book is a stand-alone romance. While characters reappear throughout the series, the books can be read individually or in any order. Seattle’s team is one of the best teams in the country. In book one, Justin Brady falls for his childhood best friend and current teammate’s little sister, Elise. Owen Parrish, Elise’s brother, gets his own story in book two, where the player finds love in his mousy friend Becca. Teammate Teddy King gets a second chance with his college study buddy, Sara, in book three. Asher Reed gets new medical resident Bailey to nurse him back health in the fourth book. Book 5.5 is a novelette. Rookie Morgen and his younger stepsister Isla finally give into the attraction they felt when their parents married a few years earlier. Book five pairs rookie Landon with older Aubree in a drunken Vegas wedding. Book six has the broken-hearted team captain and sulky man-to-the-rescue Grant finding love with Ana after saving her from a bad relationship with another teammate. In the seventh and last book of the series, Harper refuses to date players, but rookie Jordie has his sights set on her. He gets one chance to change her mind when he wins her company in an auction.
In this book Grant Henry, thirty-two, is an old man in the world of professional hockey. With nearly fifteen years under his belt, the stoic center’s quiet strength, self-control, and protective instincts have made him an obvious choice for team captain of the Seattle Hawks. But despite his leadership role, Grant remains a loner. Adopted at age six by an older couple after living in foster care, he had never developed good social skills and still struggles with small talk. He enjoyed the puck bunnies in the early years of his career – until he recognized how empty that lifestyle was. He doesn’t date, either, so he lives a solitary life. His teammates speculate that he suffers from a broken heart.
Grant dreamed he would have a family of his own by now, so as he watches his younger teammates get engaged and start families one by one, he realizes life is passing him by and he has never felt more alone. One woman has captured his attention in the last year, but she is totally off limits. She is the girlfriend of Jason Kress, the surly and impulsive left winger traded to the Hawks a year ago. Jason is a difficult teammate and drinks too much. He is often overheard saying unkind words to his girlfriend at team events. Grant was watchful, though, and stepped up once to give her a ride home, several months ago.
Ana Walsh, beautiful and petite, followed her boyfriend from Las Vegas to Seattle when he got traded to the Hawks. In hindsight, there were signs that things might not work out for them. Nevertheless, she had made a new home for herself in Seattle, finding a good job at a hotel spa as a massage therapist. She planned to stay in the city, but after two years with Jason, leaving him isn’t easy and her anxiety is clouding her judgement.
When Jason drinks too much again at a team event, Grant comes to Ana’s rescue again, offering her another ride home. She feels safe with him, and his thoughtful attention is a comfort. When he gives her his number and tells her to call if she ever needs help, she never foresaw how her life would change.
Grant and Ana’s story is about two broken souls finding solace in one another. Drinking, abuse, and anxiety play a role as fate brings the couple together. Grant is phenomenal. The gentle giant opens up with Ana and listens attentively. He proves himself to be an extraordinarily patient, kind, and principled man, a perfect match for Ana. Ana has weathered a difficult relationship, but healing takes time, so she and Grant fall into a strange and undefined relationship. An unexpected event adds a huge complication to their already complex feelings for one another, putting a huge strain on their relationship and testing their resolve. Throughtout the story, Ana shows great strength as she consciously works to move beyond her past and become independent. The couple earns a well-deserved HEA. It ends with a lead-in to the very last book of the series – rookie Jordie Prescott’s story.
There is one issue that merits mention. *Spoiler* Towards the end, Ana pushes Grant away in a manner that seems to intentionally cause him pain. It was completely unnecessary given that Grant was not a manipulator and had only ever shown her respect. I absolutely loved the story to that point, and Grant in particular, so imagining his pain and knowing it was pointless was frustrating.
In Grant and Ana’s angsty story, the quiet team captain of the Seattle Hawks rescues Ana from an abusive relationship and helps her pick up the pieces. The story is well-written. The plot is fairly simple. It is realistic and character-driven. The characters are complex. It is written in first person. The POV alternates between Grant and Ana. I rate this book four stars.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This book has everything what you can expect from a hockey romance: sexy guy, lovely girl, some troubles and steamy love.
Grant is just a big sweetheart, I think every girl would love to have a Grant in her life!
Can’t wait to read Jordie’s book!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Kendall Ryan can pretty much crush any genre – but her Hot Jocks romances, especially “Wild for You” is one of my all-time favourites series and books. It’s sexy and sweet, this hockey romance follows Grant the hockey player who offers Ana a place to stay and ends up falling in love with her. Roommates to lovers romance story that will have you both rushing to finish and never wanting the story to end. The chemistry practically burns off the pages and the writing is gorgeous and if you needed another reason to grab this book and series? Kendall Ryan never writes a bad book and this book confirms my statement. Wild for you is a sexy romp with a hero you’ll melt for and a relatable, sassy heroine you’ll love. If you’re a fan of steamy romances (like me) with laugh out loud moments, you have to go and grab yourself a copy today. You won’t regret it! I promise!! Happy reading everyone!!!
I was excited for Grant and Ana’s story from the moment I heard of it! I was disappointed with this book even though Ana frustrated me to no end at times. I loved the chemistry between these two from the start. Grant was such a sweet, caring protector. Throughout most of the series, Grant was just a grumpy older dude who was the captain of the hockey team. He didn’t really hang out with the other guys on the team outside of team functions or official events so we didn’t know much about him before Wild For You. And the same goes for Ana; she didn’t show up until Down and Dirty since she’d just moved to the area. At the end of Down and Dirty, we meet Ana’s boyfriend who’s a douche and treats her badly in front of everyone else. Grant offered to take her home that night. At the start of this story, Grant is rescuing Ana again after her boyfriend, Jason abandons her at a party with no way home. He keeps rescuing Ana and he’s quick to help her. Ana is strong even though her current situation makes her feel as if she is anything but that. She’s trying to do what’s best for her in a crappy situation.
Seeing Ana and Grant’s relationship slowly blossom was great to see. I loved them together and they were very hot together. They had an amazing passion and their friendship grew naturally as the story progressed. Ana irritated me with some of her decisions even if I could understand where she was coming from. I loved the sweetness between them and the surprise pregnancy made this book even better since that’s one of my favorite tropes. I also could relate to Ana with her having to deal with an abusive relationship and my heart broke for her for what she had to endure. I was happy to see her finally let Grant in and trust that she can stand on her own two feet, but she didn’t have to.
I loved seeing all the others as well and where they are in there lives. It was nice seeing Becca and Owen grow their family and Elise and Justin finally get married. I’m excited about the last book in the Hot Jocks series, Taking His Shot. I can’t wait to see Jordie get his happily ever after even though I’m sad the series is almost over. It’s been fun reading about these hockey players and the women who bring them to their knees.
