Mila Stubbs is starting her dream job as a forest ranger. The downside, it’s close to where she grew up. After years of bullying at the hands of Drake Scott, and the death of her parents, she fled to the city. Now she’s back and has put her life in danger by doing so. She has no idea of the power which lies dormant inside her.Elias Crane has been waiting his whole life for ‘The One’. A chance … chance meeting with Mila in the forest changes his life forever. Even though he realises she has no idea what is going on deep undercover of the trees, and the untold connection between them, the powerful pull to her drives him to the edge of insanity.
As they become close, the danger for Mila escalates. Drake Scott and his father have plans for her. They want her for breeding purposes. And when she’s taken captive, Elias must reach her before it’s too late.

Mila left home after her parents were killed because she was threatened by Drake, his father was a mad scientist experimenting on people and supernaturals. She went back home because her visions told her to, Elias was her mate she fought it at first. This book had me crying and laughing with the people, I couldn’t put the book done so I lost some sleep had to keep reading to see what happened next. Loved this book glad I took a chance on reading a book by Toya Richardson! Will look for more of her books.
Wow, loved the banter at the start and the build up of suspense. Even though you know something big will happen and maybe even guess at a little, when it comes it’s so much more and with twists that keep it fresh and exciting. Love the characters and the clues for further stories, this is fast paced and well written and I will certainly be reading the next book as soon as I can. I really enjoy the diversity of shifters as well it makes it surprising when a character starts changing before you know what species it will be. Wonderful story. Started 4/5/21 Finished 6/5/21
I love paranormal romance and The Protectors series from Toya Richardson is one series that I could happily get lost in. I did kinda get lost in Wild Desire, finishing in the early hours.
Mila Stubbs was drawn to nature and the forest from a young age and now its drawing her back again. Being home for the first time in years, she now knows why.
Elias Crane has spent centuries trying to find his soulmate but patrolling had turned into a full time responsibility. The new park ranger has caught his interest. Could she be the one he’s been searching for all this time?
I loved Mila and Elias’s characters. Their instant connection and growing relationship is a brilliant read. The community that they are part of has a strong family bond, with hints of more relationships and possible stories to come.
If Wild Desire is anything to go by, the whole of The Protectors series is going to be an amazing read. Bring on more of this series.
Book 1 in Toya Richardson’s new PNR series. After reading all of Toya’s fluffy contemporary romance novels I was wondering where She wood take a paranormal story of this kind. It didn’t disappoint. You can tell from reading the book that the author does love delving into the paranormal world. It shone through the words and the characters. I have to say that this was the best written book of Richardson’s to date. It flowed nicely, the characters were likeable, and the setting was just right for this story. I look forward to reading more.
Wild Desire is the first book of Toya Richardson’s exciting new series. This is a book where you become so consumed by the story that you forget about the world around you and lose track of time. Once you reach the end, it takes time to return to reality because this author’s beautiful and hot words make you feel like you were actually there with her amazing characters. For me, this is my favourite book by this author so far and I could’ve sat for hours reading about the new world she has created.
Elias is all male and is even hot when he’s being all possessive and protective. You’ll definitely wish he could claim you for his own! Mila is full of fire and never gives up, but is also selfless and puts herself at risk to save others. I love how this author’s female characters can stand on their own and take on the world. As for her male characters, I’d happily have them all and wouldn’t share lol. We also always get secondary characters who stand out and remain with you as much as the main characters. I’m excited to see which of them from this series get their own story. I’d also be happy if Mathis and Lily got a book telling us about their journey to becoming a couple as we get glimpses of what happened in this book.
Toya Richardson is an author that you must read, and I can guarantee you won’t ever be disappointed. She is clearly very talented and I can’t wait to see what else she gives us in the future! Wild Desire is definitely a recommended read!
