This is a well written book dealing with some difficult issues. After the death of her mother and estranged grandmother, Meredith is searching for a father she’d never known. But she discovers more than she is prepared to handle.
Sheriff Curtis is her romantic interest. He is understanding and supportive of her cross-country pursuit of the truth.
The characters are well rounded and evoke strong feeling while you read the book. It takes a talented author to pull that off and Julie did it with ease.
Overall a great read and one I recommend.
After receiving a summons to her estranged grandmother’s solicitor, Meredith receives stunning news and a small box. Her father is alive and he holds the secret to her mother’s dark past. As she seeks out any clue she can dig up, a predator is stalking her movements. Little does she know, her life is in danger. With the help of her dear friend, Sheriff Curtis, she unravels the mystery. Will the pursuit of a murderer ruin her relationship with Curtis or will she finally embrace the love he wants to share with her?
Wild Crime is one of the best mysteries I’ve read in a long time. From the very first page, Julie Howard takes the reader on a suspenseful ride. With a full cast of characters and a few mysteries to solve, I whipped through the pages. I connected with Meredith right away and her plight only added to my enjoyment of the story. Julie Howard is a brilliant mystery writer who leaves clues for the reader, like breadcrumbs. While this is book three in her series, each one can be read as a standalone. I have to go back and read books one and two now.
Fans of Mary Higgins Clark and James Patterson will love this suspenseful thriller. Highly recommend!
My Rating: 5+ stars
Some secrets are better left buried! Meredith goes through sooo much to find answers. To find out; she finds things out that should be left in the past. Curtis is a great man that worries about Meredith because he loves her. Honey is a hoot! I love her personality and protectiveness of family! This is a story with pain, love, secrets, money, and mystery!
This book was full of twists and turns. Meredith goes to Florida to find out what her long lost grandmother left her in her will. She ends up with a box assured to have nothing of value and a note. She chases down the past to try to find the truth about her father and family. (
this was a really great book! she gets things after her grandma passes away. one thing that is bothering her is the letter and her father. read to find out what happens.
What an intriguing mystery – great interaction between realistic and interesting characters. Interesting storyline with lots of twists and turns that will keep you wondering. Very well woven so I became totally immersed as if I was right there with Meredith.
Wild Crime was my favorite type of book! It had a good mix of many things that made it an enjoyable read. Drama, a touch of romance, and suspenseful twists and turns made this an ideal evening for me. I enjoyed the fact that I couldn’t guess what was going to happen and was surprised until the very end! I ended up reading 90% of it in one sitting because I wanted to know what was going to happen!
This is a fantastic book. It is a well woven mystery that is full of twists and turns and keeps you gripped and guessing right until the very end. I loved the unpredictable moments that really took me by surprise but kept the story arc flowing. The characters are compelling and you find yourself invested in their story. Meredith is courageous, determined and her journey of discovery is both intriguing and moving. I look forward to reading more by Julie Howard.
This is my first read from Ms. Howard and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
This is tbe 3rd book in the series but Ms. Howard did a great job bringing the reader to the present book.
I really enjoyed the twist and turns and the mystery of what had happened.
I highly recommend this book.
Meredith Lowe received the biggest shock of her life when her estranged mother’s lawyer informed her that her father was alive and gave her a small gift of sorts sending Meredith, her children, and her new love interest Sheriff Curtis on a journey to discover the secrets of her mother’s past. Wild Crime is a non-stop thrill ride with intriguing characters and quite a few twists and turns. This is a superb mystery and an exciting read.
I was gifted this book by the author and I decided to volunteer to read and review it.
Family secrets, old vendettas, a father whose name she’s never known. All these things come together for Meredith when she discovers the grandmother she didn’t know existed has died and left her “something”. That “something”, though worthless, triggers a search for the father her mother had refused to talk about and puts her on the radar of danger and intrigue.
Howard weaves a stunning tale of suspense and memories that Meredith is no longer sure she wants to uncover. Can she find her father while still keeping the new and finally happy life she’s started in her small Idaho town?
Wild Crime is the third of a three-book series but reads well as a stand-alone so don’t let that stop you. I plan on going back to read the first two though, Howard writes an engaging mystery and I’m looking forward to reading more of her work.
[I was fortunate to receive a copy of the book from the author through the 2021 Winter Games Reader Challenge, with no obligation to review. The opinions expressed herein are entirely my own and are given freely.]
This story has it all-romance, mystery, intrigue, a great small town and wonderful characters. Meredith is summoned to the office of her deceased Grandmother’s lawyer. Hoping for answers to her Mother’s mysterious past she receives a box that presents more questions. Meredith soon finds herself setting out to discover the identity of her father and the reason why her Mother left her childhood home. Filled with twists, turns and dangerous situations I was quickly turning the pages. Wild Crime is the third book of the Wild Crime series. Not having read the previous two I can honestly say it can be read as a standalone, enough detail is given as to what happened in the previous stories. I enjoyed the town and the people of Hay City Idaho who embraced Meredith and her children that I definitely will pick up the other books. I highly recommend this to mystery lovers who love a little romance sprinkled in.
This is the 3rd book I’ve read written by Julie Howard; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

Author Howard has offered readers a most satisfying conclusion to her terrific Wild Crimes series published by the Wild Rose Press. Meredith Lowe, a strong, courageous young woman has been dealt a crappy hand of cards from the day of her birth–yet she triumphs over each left curve tossed her way. Readers will root for her every step of her journey to finally uncover her mother’s tragic past as well as the extended family everyone will love to hate.
Do not pass this one up. It’s a jewel.

This story involves the mystery of what really happened in the past involving the mother of Meridith, the main character. It is an amazing story that keeps you reading, keeps you guessing, and makes you feel what the character is feeling. Wonderfully-written, this is an absolutely wonderful book.

Wild Crime #3 – This is my first read by this author and I like it. There are a few frustrating kinks in the interesting storylines making it difficult to stop reading. Unfortunately for me, I missed the other books of this series. The author did good job explaining the past without rewriting the first two books.
I like the characters. All are realistic and believable with good dialog. There is just enough internal dialog with Meredith to understand her thoughts and actions without being bored with constant redundancies.
While I figured out much of each mystery presented, there is plenty of intrigue to stay immersed in the pages. I finished the book in one sitting. While I think this book would be better by reading the first two books, it does not matter. Oh, the romance is well done. There is no graphic sex or vulgar language.
I want more from this author, she has me hooked. I found this book on Booksprout. 5*
