He was a beautiful nightmare.Mia Hayes is comfortable with her life as it is. Boring is good.Boring is normal.Boring is safe. But the thing with boring is it makes temptation all the sweeter. She was a sweet dream.Hollis Wilder goes a hundred miles an hour after everything he wants.Fast is fun.Fast is crazy.Fast is dangerous. But the thing with fast is it keeps you from thinking before you act.… with fast is it keeps you from thinking before you act.
Together they were the notes in their favorite song.
When Mia and Hollis collide—literally—music’s new bad boy can’t help but notice the beautiful red-haired woman with soft curves. She calls to him like a siren, and since the word no isn’t in his vocabulary he’s determined to get what he wants. The problem is, one night won’t be enough, and the fact that Mia is his mentor’s daughter complicates things royally.
Mia’s the one girl that’s off limits, but she might be the only one he wants for real.

I love love love this author and all the books associated with The Willow Creek Series. I have to admit that the Willow Creek series is one of the first series that I read on my kindle. I was an adamant paperback gal. That’s a completely different post. Once I finished reading the last book from Willow Creek. I wanted to know what happened to the bassist’s adopted daughter Mia. I fell in love with this adorable little girl. What kind of woman did she grow up into? I was ecstatic when I found out that Micalea was writing Mia’s story. That is also why I have like three postings on this book in my blog. Sorry, not sorry. I really love these characters. I can’t wait to read the rest of The Wild series and the stories for the rest of the next generation of Willow Creek Boys. They are completely crazy and unique characters.
Now onto my review of these characters: Mia Hayes is the daughter of the bassist Joshua Hayes, Willow Creek. Yes, she has not had what some would call a normal childhood. How many kids have media outlets claiming that your father is cheating on your mother? All of which are untrue since Hayes is still madly in love with her mother, Arden. Hayes brought his family back to his hometown to raise them in a somewhat normalish environment. As normal as can be when your father is a rock god. Whatever. Mia developed her love of music from her father, although she prefers to be in the background–producing music. When her father brings his new project home, The Wild she stays as far away from the man-whoring party animals as possible. But something about Hollis draws her in. She shouldn’t be attracted to the sexy as sin lead singer. Her dad had to drag their drunk butts out of a bar with women hanging all over them. She doesn’t want to be just another notch on the sexy rocker’s bed post.
He shows her another side of himself that she doesn’t think he shows anyone else.
Hollis Wilder is the lead singer for his band, The Wild. His band just signed with Joshua Hayes’ new record label. He gets the chance to work with one of the greatest bassist players in the industry. No way is he going to blow it by sleeping with his mentor’s adorable sexy daughter. They share an undeniable attraction. He tried staying away from her especially after Hayes warned the entire band to keep clear of his daughter. The siren who watches him as he records, eats, and discusses music in the recording studio. They can just be friends, right? But what happens if Hayes finds out about their friendship? Will he think it’s more? Does he really believe that they only have a friendship? Who else dreams about having sex with a friend? Yeah, he doesn’t believe that either.
I highly recommend this book!! Go buy it.
Loved this book! It’s low angst with tons of sweet and sexy.
5 Hollis Filled Stars!!!
Oh Micalea!!! I’m such a sucker for her books. ESP her rocker men. If you’ve read her Willow Creek Series be prepared. BC, rememberer bad boy Hayes…. He’s back. Hayes has opened his own production company. He’s found The Wild and has signed them first at his label. Hayes only has one major rule…. Stay away from his daughter Mia.
Mia is going to school, working at the sub shop and has started at her dads company. Mia wants to work in the music business and loves learning from her dad.
When her dad signed The Wild she was happy for him. Then, she walked into her bedroom and walked into Hollis Wilder the lead singer. He’s one cocky SOB and she instantly hates him even though he makes her feel things she doesn’t want.
Mia never grew up in the spotlight with her dad and uncles being in the biggest rock band. She got used in the past bc of who her dad was. Since then Mia has said she’d never date another musician. Hollis is making her decision hard to follow thru on.
Hollis’s dream was always for his and his best friends to make something of their music career. They’ve found a bit of fame and fans but never seem to make it big.
When Hayes from the rock band Willow Creek signs them they all know their lives are about to change. Hollis and the guys will put in the hard work to make their album a hit and climb the ladder to the top.
Hollis wasn’t going to let anything get in his way. Until he came face to face with the fiery redhead. Then, his cockiness came out a little too much. Mia’s not like most girls. She grew up with her dad and uncles in the music business. She’d been hurt in the past and Hollis wants to prove to her not all musicians are the same. The biggest problem is if Hayes finds out about him and Mia they’ll loose their contract.
This was amazing!! It’s a new adult read. These two are hot….. sweaty hot!!! There was so many times I was legit lol.
Add in the other 3 guys from the band, Mia’s best friend Kira and of course Mia’s dad Hayes. There was a scene that happened that had me dying and I was like “OMG I’d die to get this in Haye’s POV” and Micalea must’ve known her Willow Creek fans would say it bc in a bonus epilogue was that scene from his POV and I was hysterical laughing all over.
Sometimes two worlds aren’t meant to be together. What happens when lines get crossed and things don’t go as plan. Mia and Hollis have to fight for what they want. This book is something else and it’s so worth every page. I can’t wait to read the next book.
Hollis is a man whore & a partier & Mia is the boss’s daughter which she’s off limits. Will these two stay away & will her dad find out
This book was fun! Light on the angst, heavy on the laughs and I can’t wait to go check out the previous books. Also looking forward to the next book.
Oh my Hollis! This beauty truly captivated me from beginning to end. I can’t imagine any romance lover not being pulled into this story. The angsty push and pull of these two wanting each other but knowing it’s forbidden was a sexy love affair that danced across the pages and into my heart.
Fans of Micalea’s Willow Creek series will be LIVING, a flawlessly executed next gen novel that’s guaranteed to tug at your heartstrings and have you falling more in love with the Willow Creek family. Getting more insight into what happened after Willow Creek ended was wonderful, seeing how these families have grown, how the original couples are as swoontastic as ever was epic. But personally I think they got outswooned by Hollis and Mia.
Mia has grown into a strong, fiery badass, she’s chasing her dreams and determined to put in the hard work to achieve them on her own. She’s humble, kind and pure sass. Basically the kind of female character that inspires you to just be you.
Hollis is guarded, brooding, and arrogant. The signature bad boy. But to those he cares about, he’s gentle, kind, and protective. And of course, be prepared for the alpha sexy times!
And the icing and sprinkles on top of the sparkly rockstar cupcake? The way Micalea Smeltzer mirrored Wild Collision with Mia’s parents story (Take A Chance) was beautifully executed.
This steamy, sensual, lyrical love story was exactly what my book dragon heart needed to get into a reading binge. Guess who’s going to be rereading the Willow Creek books now?
This story was exceptional, from the well played out plot and twists, to the characters who grow throughout, and all the little details. Mia Hayes, daughter of famous Josh Hayes, guitarist for Willow Creek, (who is makes an appearance in the well-loved series of the same name,) is a college student working towards a career in music with out any handouts from her father’s fame. Hollis Wilder is a bad boy, music enthusiast, and the lead vocals in the up and coming band The Wild. When The Wild gets a once in a life time chance to work with Josh Hayes in his new studio as one of his first signed artists, Mia and Hollis have the front row seat to life and the unexpected journeys it can take you on. Amazing story, and perfect for cuddling up on the couch for a binge read. Plus the steamy bits are just the right amount of sauce and flair that leave you wanting just a little more.
Oh, and if you’re like me…. you’ll love all the #buttstuff. Just a dirty filthy boy trying to win the heart of a woman full of fire and snark.
Sweet, swoony, and funny, Wild Collision was a fun read. There were some things that didn’t quite work for me, but I could definitely see the appeal of Mia and Hollis for someone else. I didn’t quite feel their connection as deeply as I hoped, but I could feel that it may have been headed in that direction with a little more time.
Mia and Hollis had great banter; I always feel like the best relationships are rooted in couples who can communicate freely and having a good back and forth is a backbone of that kind of interaction. I loved that they knew what they wanted from one another and pursued it knowing what it could cost them. They both had powerful and intriguing personalities and seeing them figure out how to navigate this new dynamic they had was fascinating.
My wish for this story would just be to see a little more connection and chemistry between Mia and Hollis. There was some written, but it felt a little forced to me. What we did see of their chemistry seemed mostly predicated on the physical aspect of their relationship, and I wish I would have seen more of the emotional side of it.
Wild Collision is the first book in Micalea Smeltzer’s The Wild series. This series is a spinoff of Willow Creek series; I haven’t read that series, but I don’t feel like that took away from the experience of this novel. If anything, it made we want to check those books out to see where this all started. Wild Collision is written in dual first-person perspective, narrated by Mia and Hollis.
He stares at me with those strangely golden eyes and if feels as if he can see all the way down to my soul. We’re toeing a dangerous line, but I stay seated. I don’t leave-I don’t want to.”
Sweetly forbidden, took a little while to get myself into it, but once it started rolling, I enjoyed it immensely. The rag tag bunch that is The Wild made me laugh, and I can only hope that some stories will come from those boys at some point. As for Mia and Hollis, it was pretty instantaneous, but a no-no from Daddy…they try like anything to hide it, but as all good forbidden romances go, you know they won’t. They really were an adorable couple, sweet and romantic when warranted, but then were hot and ferociously sexy at other times. Some of the scenes tugged my heart strings and had me sighing and smiling to myself. All in all, a wonderful read!! I thank the Author for providing a copy to review!
“The trust glimmering in her eyes is nearly my undoing. She trusts me completely, to keep her safe, to bring her pleasure, to love her. We are a beautiful madness, equals in every way.”

Micalea Smeltzer is one of my favorite go-to authors and one I never fail to recommend to people needing a new book to read but Wild Collision did not captivate me like her earlier books. I liked it and enjoyed it and I can’t believe I am saying this but it needed just a little bit more substance and less sex.It was very well-written, like all of Micalea’s books, but I wanted more storyline and background to go with the chemistry between Mia and Hollis.
I loved every single character in this book, especially the Willow Creek gang who we meet in another series. I loved Mia and Hollis’s stubborness and independence, but I really missed the connection between these two. They got together so quick and fell immediately “in love” and it seemed like their romance was completely dependent on sex. There wasn’t enough emotion and I really needed to see more of a progression in their relationship.
The overall plot and side characters were a really good aspect and I cannot wait to read Rush, Cannon, and Fox’s books and to see how the rest of The Wild’s bandmates will find love. Despite not really loving this book all that much, I definitely recommend it to those looking for a steamy read with tons of sex and great chemistry. For lovers of NA romance, this is definitely the book for you!
What can I say about this story. It’s a great somewhat forbidden romance. A 4 star story
Hollis is suppose to stay away from Mia, he’s been warned multiple times. Her father is the one helping them get there career as a band going. He’s been known as a player. Upon meeting Hollis, Mia is instantly attracted to him but she knows he’s bad news. They become friends and then things progress from there. Will he jeopardize the bands career?
I enjoyed this story because of course it’s a great romantic story but also I got to see the members of Willow Creek. That series was a favourite of mine so I was happy to see that this is another story about their kids.
An addicting storyline that sucked me in. Bottomline line this is a must read.
Standalone told in a dual POV with an HEA. I strongly recommend this story.
“We’re opposites in every way—I’m hard to her soft, loud to her quiet, dangerous to her safe—but we click like two puzzle pieces snapping together, there’s no denying it.”
I’ve always been a big fan of Micalea from the beginning.
I was so excited when I found out it was a spinoff to Willow Creek series! Fangirling moment…..
The chemistry between Hollis & Mia were off the charts! More sexy scenes than what I’m use to reading but overall had a great story & loved the banter between the guys! I will be anticipating the next book & can’t wait for who each band member ends up with!!
Wild Collision was awesome! The characters and the storyline were fantastic. It is reminiscent of the Willow Creek series since it is about a band and Mia is the daughter of Hayes, guitarist of Willow Creek. But it held its own. The Wild boys had their own wow-factor. I definitely got that rock star fun vibe reading the story. Hollis, Rush, Fox, and Cannon are a riot. The bond they have is so strong and brotherly. I loved the behind-the-scenes of them recording their album and getting set up for fame. Hollis and Mia were on fire. They couldn’t deny the chemistry for long and when they acknowledge it, they explode greatly. I enjoyed seeing their connection and the progression of their relationship as the story went on. They were sweet, they were passion, they were fun. I also loved seeing the Willow Creek gang again-so great as always. I enjoyed this story and couldn’t get enough. I am fascinated with the rest of the Wild guys and I can’t wait for their stories. It’s going to be fun! #HollaforHollis
WOW! This book was amazing. I love Rock Stars and the girls who tame them books! This one did not disappoint. I thought Hollis was funny and definitely full of himself, but Mia got him. She made him lovable and it turns out he is fantastically romantic. I did not see that twist coming so it was a good one! I can’t wait for more of the Wild boys. Oh, and if your are new to this author there are also books for Willow Creek boys.
If you are a fan of Micalea Smeltzer’s Willow Creek series like I am, then you are going to fall in love with The Wild series! I absolutely adored Take A Chance, Hayes and Arden’s story, so I was super excited that their daughter Mia was getting her own story because I love reading about the next generation.
Wild Collision was a beautifully captivating story full of hot and steamy chemistry between Mia Hayes and Hollis Wilder (the lead singer of the band The Wild). Their love was a tad bit forbidden because she is Hayes daughter and he warned all the guys in the band away from her, but of course the moment Hollis laid eyes on her he knew she was the one he wanted…even if that meant risking everything he ever dreamed of. This story was absolutely incredible and I was wholeheartedly captivated by every moment of it! These two had their ups and downs like any complicated relationship, and my heart broke for them at one point. Their love was meant to be and I didn’t stop rooting for them until the very end!
Readers get ready to fall head first into this AH-FREAKING-MAZING story! I am already eagerly anticipating the next book in this series…please let it be Rush’s story!!!
If you’re a fan of the Willow Creek series like I am, you’re going to love this! Mia, Arden and Hayes’ daughter, meets her match in Hollis Wilder, lead singer of The Wild, an up-and-coming band. The two have instant chemistry, although they don’t meet under the best of circumstances. Trying to keep their relationship a secret from her dad, the band’s mentor, they sneak around all while falling in love. Their feelings for each other come fast, but they were real. I loved this couple, their banter had me laughing throughout the book. I loved Mia’s relationship with her best friend, Kira, how close they were and how they were always there for the other.
Micalea’s writing has definitely gotten better, and it shows in this book. I’m anxiously awaiting the next book in this series, and for each band member to have their story told.

Wow! What an amazing amazing story! I absolutely fell so deeply in love with it! I didn’t want it to end!
“Both of us are wild, uncontained, a fire that can’t be controlled or tamed.”
Loved it so much and you will to!! I highly recommend one clicking!
