After reading Wild Card, I realized that I need to make a summer reads list because this one would definitely be on it. I’m quite the fan of the “fake relationship” trope, they tend to be full of some of the most hilarious moments, which this was very fitting for this rom-com.
I can’t believe this was my first time read for Lila Monroe and sticking to my habit of reading books in a series out of order, I’m definitely going to go back and read the rest of this series!
This was just the easy read that I needed, I’d recommend it right after an emotional angsty read. There were so many funny moments in this book and the scenarios that Olivia ends up are downright crazy like nothing I could ever imagine. But no one better than Ryan to always bail her out!
Plenty of hilarious moments, steamy upon steamy scenes and you got yourself a solid rom-com. Absolutely loved this read and definitely see myself re-reading this one!
This is an interesting twist on the billionaire matchmaking/escort service as they are matched with sole intent of the women being effective arm candy for billionaires for a particular occasion. The women must ‘fit in’ to the occasion. The owner does the research to find the ‘match’ of billionaire occasion need and woman’s social setting skills. The owner has a tough situation… she needs an arm candy for her Dad’s 4th wedding to another bimbo. Great setup. Wonderful characters. Crazy hilarious situations. Predictable ending. Not sure the mom’s ring event needed and then dropped sadly. Lots of detailed sex descriptions (can be skimmed past).
This was a cute book. Things that happened before the wedding – had me laughing. It was great to see these two realize sometimes opposites attract but in a good way in which the opposite characteristic is something that complements and helps the other.
From start to finish this was an amazing book. This whole series is so much fun to read. From book 1 you can’t put it down. And when the book ends? You are hoping there is a next one. ………I can’t get enough of your books. Amazing is an understatement
Wild Card – Billionaire Bachelor Series Book 3 -Lila Monroe
Olivia Danvers, owner of The Agency needs a date for her father’s wedding, Ryan Callahan needs a fake fiancé to help him win over the old school investor he is wooing!
Olivia’s father is engaged to an old college room mate of Olivia’s, yes it can only get worse right? Ryan is a retired football player looking to open a healthy food establishment and use his connection to football to making it an even better prospect for any investor.
Agreements are made, no sex, just business! Ha! Olivia needs to be rescued a number of times by Ryan. Ryan’s investors are taken with Olivia and her knowledge of the business world and she is able to guide Ryan in several situations helping him with his pitch both to a small group then a larger group.
Shenanigans will happen, events will lead to a misunderstanding and what looks like a pair of lovers becomes a broken hearted pair.
Will Ryan or Olivia give in and try to set the misunderstanding straight?
Olivia and Ryan were perfect together in this delightful rom-com. What was supposed to be a strictly business relationship turns into a lot of monkey business courtesy of the worst bridezilla on the facr of the planet, Olivia’s soon to be stepmother. Truthfully, I laughed out loud at the utterly ridiculousness of the shenanigans. But that was the point, right? It’s thanks to those shenanigans that Ryan and Olivia move past business and into pleasure and that gave them a chance for a HEA even if there were a few bumps along the way.
2018 published, both POV, contemporary, easy to read, M/F romance, Miami, NYC, plot, read, romance, sex.
Wild Card by Lila Monroe is the third book in her quirky Billionaire Bachelors series. Starring the matchmaker herself, Olivia, and one of her more difficult clients, this book focuses on how Ryan finally gets his perfect match and Olivia learns what it is to fall in love on the job.
Olivia has the best job – exclusive matchmaker – but when she has a client she is completely unable to match up with a girl, she has take on the challenge of Ryan herself. It’s perfect timing though as she also needs a date for her fathers wedding. Two birds one really hot retired football player.
Ryan has been waiting for Olivia’s matchmaking service to find him the right girl for what feels like forever. Her type of matchmaking is one that is for appearances only. Need a date for fundraisers, check. Need a date for a family wedding to avoid their matchmaking, check. But he needs a specific, savvy type of women to give him some steadfast credibility for upcoming business meetings. What eh really wants is Olivia and no one else will do. Good thing she is now searching for a date for her fathers wedding.
Well-written, well-paced and another fabulous, quirky, funny, steamy and romantic read from one of my favorite authors – enjoy!
The third book in Lila Monroe’s Billionaire Bachelor series, Wild Card, finds the owner of the matchmaking agency hoisted by her own petard when she had to match herself to her latest, very picky client. Olivia’s dad is getting married (again) this time to her college nemesis! She needs a date fast since her future stepmother is out to get her and her single status. When Ryan, her latest client, finds something wrong with his latest match once again, Olivia steps up and gets her most needed date. Ryan needs to clinch a deal with very important investors to launch his latest business. But he needs a certain type of woman by his side to convince said investors he’s more than his NFL past. Olivia fits the bill to a T. But when this Ice Queen of business starts showing some cracks, Ryan can’t help but fall for her. But this pretend dating has an expiry date, can this two find their own HEA despite it? Wild Card was such a fun and lighthearted read! Sweet, sexy and funny, fans of romantic comedies can’t go wrong with reading this one!
A fun, fast-paced read with some sizzling hot chemistry
Whilst Wild Card is book 3 of a series, it can easily be read as a stand alone. However the previous two books are so good it’s well worth finding the time to read them all! This is a hugely fun rom-com, with one crazy soon-to-be step mom, a super sexy hot jock of a hero, a heroine who really hasn’t got it as together as first appearances would suggest and plenty of mad-cap action. I’ve read quite a few Lila Monroe books, so I was confident that this would be not only a well written story but also an enjoyable one too. I wasn’t wrong.
Olivia is the woman behind a high-class, sleaze free, ‘rent-a-date’ business. She’s the one who arranges the perfect person for whatever the situation requires, not the one who takes part. When an extra picky client just so happens to need a pretend girlfriend at the same time as Olivia needs a hot ‘plus one’ for a wedding, well the stars are aligned and fate has cast her spell.
Olivia has, briefly, appeared in both previous books, where she appeared to be a very sophisticated and poised woman. I loved seeing a different side of her in this book. There seemed to be an underlying message of it being easy to look at others and believe they are better than us. That somehow they have things together, when actually they suffer exactly the same worries and anxieties that we all do. This was true of both Olivia and Ryan and it just made them so much more endearing and believable because of it.
Ryan was just so sweet and sexy, a hot jock but without being too alpha or smug. We don’t get many chapters from his point of view but we don’t need to. The genuine kindness and caring in his words, actions and deeds shone through in every chapter. I absolutely fell in love with this pair.
The mad situations that Olivia found herself in, usually at the hands of her nemesis, were absolute works of genius. I would have got on the next flight home half a dozen times, but Olivia pulled up her big girl pants and bravely soldiered on. Thank goodness she did or we wouldn’t have had such a wonderful story, or the steaming hotness that is Ryan!
Whilst there are some very steamy scenes (and I’m not talking about the yurt ‘incident’ here), they aren’t excessive or overly detailed but just enough to add a frisson of spice to the story. There’s some very occasional bad language too, but this is a book I would be more than happy to recommend to both friends and family.
I love this series and this was a great addition to the series. It’s the owner of the Agency to get her turn. I have to give Lila Monroe props because she did a great job creating the antagonist because I despised her. Through the whole book I wanted Vanessa to get what’s coming to her. I just loved Olivia and Ryan together. They had a ton of chemistry and the heat those two generate made need to fan myself. One of my favorite things about this book is the banter between Olivia and Ryan. This book also had me laughing quite often. The epilogue has me eagerly anticipating the next book in the series.
It’s fun, hilarious and heartwarming story. It will capture your heart from the beginning as it leaves you smiling with it entertaining storyline. You will love the characters. I enjoyed the banter and the chemistry between the characters is sizzling and sexy. Don’t want to miss this fun read.
This is the third book in the Billionaire Bachelors series. It is a standalone. I loved the first two books also though.
This is a laugh-out-loud read. So be ready.
Olivia has her own business. It’s like a matchmaking service. But, it’s not for people to find their happily ever after. It’s for people that just need a date for an event, or to get parents off their back. She works hard to match people with the right people.
Ryan is an ex-football player. He is in business now. He is picky and even though he’s liked his matches, they weren’t the right ones for him.
That’s how Olivia decides to help him. A tit-for-tat deal. She needs a date for her dad’s wedding. He’s marrying her college nemesis. Vanessa made her life a living hell.
I really wish Vanessa would have been slapped really hard by Olivia.
I loved the wedding! I think it was one of the best I’ve ever read. I was laughing so hard.
Olivia and Ryan are great.
I’m ready for the next!
Rating: 4.5/5
Olivia is a saint. I would have killed her college nemesis if she does those things to me. But no – she just have to endure it. It was a little help that hottie Ryan is there with her as her pretend-boyfriend.
Olivia is used ti matchmaking billionaires, getting them dates and setting them up with women compatible with them. Now it was her who needed help. Good thing she struck a good deal with Ryan. He help her, she helps him – end of conversation.
It would have been simple, if only Ryan wasn’t just so perfect and a guy who could easily melt her heart. She has to remember that this was just pretend and nothing more. How can she possibly resist him?
They were just perfect for each other. They know how to make each other feel good about themselves and to believe in their capabilities. I love how Olivia pep-talked Ryan when he was so nervous, and I like how Ryan made sure Olivia was saved from the bridezilla’s machinations.
Now that was the problem. I love how the story went. The both of them had doubts about what was happening, and no one was brave enough to just go out there and say what they feel. Good thing the people around them really believed what they’re trying to portray and ready to give them sound ‘advice’.
Steamy, sweet and fun! I enjoyed reading Wild Card by Lila Monroe. It’s a breather-novel that will make you laugh and squirm.
Billionaire Bachelors – Book 3
I just flove this series! Each book can totally be read as a stand alone.
I was so looking forward to this book, I was excited to see that Olivia was getting her own story.
Wild Card is the story of Olivia and Ryan and what a fun, steamy, lovely read it is! I love the humor in Lila’s books!
Olivia owns and runs a matchmaking agency “…of the fake kind” as Olivia quotes. She comes across as so put together, efficient, fantastic at her job and overall killin it in life. But underneath, she is vulnerable, she’s fragile, she’s funny and quirky. She doesn’t show that side that often, but once she meets Ryan, it just happens naturally.
Ryan is an ex-NFL star. He has humble beginnings and has been trying to branch out into other areas of business to become more than just an ex-jock. He needs someone with class and sophistication to help him maneuver in a world he has no idea how to do.
Olivia and Ryan’s chemistry is off the charts, what’s starts out as purely business goes so beyond. This book is such a page turner, I was sad to see when it ended. Each book in this series just gets better and better!
Do yourself a favor and get this book! It’s a perfect romantic comedy!
Wild Card was not what I expected at all. At times, painfully hilarious. More often, sweet. Most definitely hot. Ryan Callahan was a pleasant surprise, as each layer was stripped away, showing more of the man behind the legendary player. Even more so, it was so much fun to see a different side of Olivia Chambers, who has always been so reserved and mysterious in previous books. The two together undeniably complemented each other, creating a strong and sassy duo and even better story. Wild Card was a crazy and enjoyable adventure, from start to finish!
Wild Card was LOL funny and I was so ready to read Olivia’s story. I knew something was brewing from the way the last book ended in this series. But do not worry if you have not read the previous books. Lila Monroe wrote this book so it can be read as a standalone. The previous books will give you the extra back story is all.
Ryan! Mr. Ex-NFL star is Liv’s match and soon to be her soul mate! Well that last part can only happen of Liv just lets it be. I love the antics that these two get into. When you meet Olivia’s father and bride to be… I was just amazed lol. Seriously, you need to read this book. Lila Monroe will give you a lot of laughs and plenty of the hot and heavy!
Lila Monroe’s latest installment of her Billionaire Bachelors series is hilarious. It is a great take on the fake wedding date premise. Main character, Olivia Chambers, runs the fake date service (she is not a madam nor is she a matchmaker per se), but when one high profile client just can’t find the right person to act as his partner for some business schmoozing, Olivia fills in.
The laughs begin when her client, Ryan Callahan, steps in to bail out Olivia. When her dad announces that he is marrying Olivia’s college nemesis, she decides she needs a hot date for the event. The old college roommate, Vanessa, is a nightmare, and she goes out of her way to make the wedding a trip to Hades for Olivia. Good thing Ryan is there to save the damsel in distress every time she lands in a weird pre-wedding crisis.
Both main characters are highly likable, and while I didn’t find their chemistry to be explosive, I did love the ease of their relationship. They seemed like old friends who had a new appreciation for one another. There is a solid base of respect and admiration beyond their physical attraction.
The secondary characters are a mixed bag. Olivia’s friends are delightful and supportive. Vanessa and her “bride tribe” seem to be a spoof of several high-profile social media “celebrities”. Olivia’s dad is almost a non-character. He has one really meaningful scene with his daughter, and then pulls a high-speed-left- turn-from-the-right-lane twist to the story line.
Wild Card is a light-hearted, swoony read. I loved that the main characters are equals (outside of comedic situations, no one needs saving/rescuing), and Ms. Monroe has infused the story with equal amounts of heat and sweet. A perfect summer read!
This is my first ever story by Lila and I am absolutely loving it! I can’t understand why I haven’t read her before but I definitely want to read more of her books! They are incredibly entertaining and I want the business Olivia has, sounds like a great job with amazing prospects lol!
This book was so much fun to read! Light hearted and great characters that chat like they are old friends!
Olivia’s business is to find high profile people dates for the event they require them for, all legit and a business decision with contracts…ie fake relationship’s.
When she has trouble finding someone suitable on her team for Ryan Callahan she decides to jump in and go do it herself!
Needless to say this trip is highly eventful and funny as well as quirky characters added into the mix! What I loved was their friendship, the way they just gelled! Ryan and Olivia seem to be a great couple but is it all just business or have hearts become involved??!!
I can highly recommend this story! It really gave me the good feels inside! I need to read the previous books now!
Olivia & Ryan
I absolutely love this series !
Olivia Chambers is in the business of match making . It is not romance but convenience. I mean sure some of them have turned into turned into true love but it is bound to happen . She is amazing at her job but what happens when the boss needs a plus one? You make a deal with a tough client . They can each be one another’s plus one and get both of them through some hairy situations !!It is all going as business as planned until it takes a turn in the real department ! This is a slow build , sexually charged romantic comedy that will have you laughing , swooning and fanning yourself!! Loved them and the crazy cast of characters surrounding them !!
