Dommik was a monster, a Monster Hunter, and an alpha. Part of an elite group that dealt with the horrors of the universe. At least that was what everyone at the spaceport was whispering as he walked by. A Cyborg, a hunter, a beast with eyes as dark as the pits of Hell and the stride of a predator.Katalina was a nobody who was intimate with death. It clung to her like a shroud, It followed her … followed her like the plague, and infected her like a parasite. When she overheard that the Monster Hunter needed an assistant, she took the job. And when the Cyborg’s eyes caught hers, she knew getting closer to death might just bring her back to life.
The Cyborg didn’t scare her.
So she followed him and left fate up to chance.

I absolutely LOVED the Cyborg Shifters series! All five books and counting! Definitely recommend this action-packed series. The males in these books are alpha, complicated, and hot as can be! The females are brave, sassy, and give these cyborg/men/animals a run for their money! This series will keep you on your toes until the very end!
After her grandmother’s death Katalina is without direction until that is she spots Dommik at the spaceport.
A hunter and procurer of exotic lifeforms and vegetation for the EPED Dommik is also a cyborg.
A cyborg with a unique designation along with a few others, he is a shifter.
But not just any shifter he shifts into a spider and before you go Ewww well I am as much not a fan of spiders as the next girl but the fact that he’s a cyborg spider makes this well less spiderish.
What I did appreciate was Dommik’s primal instincts and animalistic behaviour in regards to Kat and though he tries to fight his own instincts believing himself an abomination and a monster he’s facing a losing battle.
I also liked how Kat accepts Dommik completely and though she is initially a tad wary she swiftly realises he means her no harm.
I did think the ending just didn’t have quite enough closure and also Kat’s behaviour also here I found a tad disappointing other than I had no complaints this was unusual and well written and so very unique.

Dommik and Katalina’s story is well written story that had me turning pages I was not putting this book down until I had finished. It is a little different from other Cyborg stories that I have read. I am looking forward to reading the next book
I’ve read a ton of shifter stories. Hell, I wrote quite a few back in the mid-1970s before it became a trend. This series, introduced by this tome, has to be one of the most unique plot devices and concepts I’ve run across in decades. Sure, it’s sf. Yes, it is romance, but love ain’t easy, especially if you’re such a hodgepodge of DNA from all over Earth’s history.
An intergalactic war between two alpha species (yes, we’re one of them!) made Earth realize that it needed a bigger, badder gun. Instead of just an army of cybornetic soldiers, why not mess around with known DNA of other species to create an über-warrior that was guarantee to win the war? You bet, it worked! Now the problem is what to do with them post-war… That isn’t easy, especially considering the criteria of their creation. Meant to lead but never to cohabitate amongst Humans who created them. All of them can’t deal with each other… with the notable exception of those who happen to be more cerebral in their purpose, including medical. So we have the interspace of broken cyborg veterans whose “spirit animal” can be rather… challenging that it makes PTSD look like a child’s game.
Gah… it’s hard to talk about this book without giving away the plot. You can get that from other reviews. Suffice it to say the characters are very sympathetic without being formulaic. The side characters are intriguing, making you wonder if you’ll be running into them in the near future, and the femme fatale are flawed without being garish. (You know what I mean? Like: “WHY DID YOU DO THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE?! No sane woman would be so stupid!!”)
I still wish someone would edit the punctuation and the grammar!! AUGH! ‘Nuff said…
I’m into my fourth time reading this book. Yes, it’s that good. If any of the reviews intrigue you, just buy it! Don’t KU it! Some day, you’ll be stuck in an electrical blackout, and you’d wished you had it downloaded on your computer.

Dommik sees himself as a monster. Dommik is also a monster hunter. Dommik is a big scary cyborg who goes on dangerous missions and only works alone.
Katalina in the healthcare profession because she watched her parents die from a disease carried in from space. Kat recently lost her grandma to what she is sure is the same disease. Kat has never left Earth, now is a good time to travel.
The Dommik character is very original with all of his DNA. I like the cyborg best. Kat is just annoying with her paranoia.
I love this author and her ability to create these characters I can believe; this world so well rounded and with such depth. I love how she pens this all consuming romance that I can just fall into.
I adore how she made this shifter a-typical for Romance. We’ve gotten wolves, lions, tigers; strong, exotic and regal alpha animals. In this wonderful story we’re given something new, something wonderfully scifi -and boy does it work!
I eagerly await -and look for- new stories and new characters from this author. I’ll snatch up new books in this world, and will stay up too late and devour them.
I’ll repete what I write on Last Call -“This world of Earthians, Cyborgs and Trentians; of deep space, ships, pirates and all consuming romance; of adventure, fantastic (and well written) sex, fear, strange planets, creatures and plants … this world. I WILL be revisiting. I will re-read.
This author I will follow, and I will read any and all new books, no matter the series.”
I love them all.
I bought the set 1-4 as the title was very interesting to me as I love shifter books, but I also love science fiction and cyborg books. Each book could be read as a stand alone book as they were all unique in their own way and a complete story. I loved all the characters. These were not your usual shifters or your usual circumstances which involve so many shifter romances today. They were unique. The main shifters were a spider, a snake, a shark, and a dog, but there was also a salt water crocodile included in one of the stories. Each of the leading ladies were as unique as the leading men. I loved ALL 4 of the stories which is unusual for me with a boxed set. There is usually a story or two I don’t care for, but I loved ALL of these stories. I would highly recommend this set of books and am looking forward to reading the next book.
This first book is about the spider shifter. He is a monster hunter and considers himself a monster. Katalina is a stowaway in a way, but she works her magic on Dommick and this is their story. If I could give this book more stars I would.
Into the stars
What an absolutely amazing story! The characters are fantastic and so easy to relate to and fall in love with. I enjoyed watching these two slowly evolve from strangers with pasts into a couple strong enough to survive anything. This was my first experience with this author and I loved all of the layers to the story, and the dangers that kept me enthralled until the very end. This is one HEA that I’m glad I didn’t miss! I can’t wait to read the next book in the series, I’m sure it’s going to be epic.
