Isabel Osborne learned early that when life gives you lemons, grab the salt and find some tequila. Before her life took an unexpected path, she found her prince charming in the form of a laughing surfer. The tragedy was that she couldn’t keep him, and even worse, had to break his heart. As she walked away without a word and with a bleeding heart, her only regret was that he’d never know how much … much she had loved him.
Kai Jones, former Delta Force, together with his bastard brothers, has a single objective—bring down their father at all cost before other lives are on the line. But when he comes face to face with a siren from his past, his mighty control is shattered and replaced by hatred and bitterness. How can he rein in his resentment toward the woman who betrayed him and focus on the mission?
When he’s forced to protect her, Kai discovers that Isabel is more than who she seems. He can’t help but admire the person she has become, and it makes him reconsider his feelings for her. Soon though, the secrets she kept hidden for so long shake his own convictions. With danger lurking, Kai will have to make a decision between stepping away from those shocking revelations or listen to his heart and who it longs for.

Well. I said on my last review that Hector is my favorite but Kai is a VERY close second. Not only do I love his choice of attire , but I love HIM as well. All these bastards sure are drool worthy. And Isabel did NOT disappoint! She’s a close second favorite to being my favorite main (other than Zoe)! This third book of the series didn’t disappoint and if you’re reading this review- read the damn series! SO GOOD YALL! On to the next!
This is the third installment in the Dark Sparrow series and India Kells did not fail to deliver another incredible story! This is the story of Kai and Isabel. Kai and Isabel met years ago in Hawaii, fell in love, and Isabel just disappeared. Isabel is thrown back into Kai’s life as him and his bastard brothers are determined to take down his father. Isabel is a strong self-made woman but is terrified of Kai finding out all the secrets from her past. Their connection is still as strong as it was years ago in Hawaii, but can they survive the fight against Kai’s father? Can they survive each other finding out about their pasts?
This author does a fantastic job drawing us into the story. Even though Kai and Isabel are the main focus, all the brothers make an appearance, yet the story is very balanced. I am ready for the next book!
As with the first two books, this book dragged me in almost immediately. I needed the next installation of this family’s story. Kells didn’t let me down with this book. In this book, we meet another brother named Kai and his leading lady Isabel. The angst in this book fed my angsty soul. The two have to work through their baggage to have something real. I rooted for them the entire way while they work to take down Finch. I am seriously loving this story. It is amazing!
Author India Kells does it again. This book was top notch. Isabel and Kai have met before and fell in love until she left without notice. Isabel had her reasons. After 15 years they are face to face again, pain and lost love brings back hurt and remorse to Isabel. Isabel is the black sparrow in this story and is put in close proximity to Finch. Finch wants to become Mayor of Chicago and enlists Isabel’s company to handle his campaign. I can not believe what happens in this book. Finch is worse than I ever thought. This story was a turning point in the series. I can’t wait to see what is going to happen in book 4. If you haven’t read this series, It is a must read.
Izzy and Kai have a history and secrets. There is also the dastardly evilness, Finch. Being thrown together in a Dark Sparrow mission to take down Finch, Izzy and Kai have to work through hard feelings, brothers telling them how to feel, and secrets being uncovered. Kai is pretty hard headed and stubborn. Izzy is strong and has her own PR management firm. She believes she can pretty much take care of herself. These two clash as they try to figure out what they have now. A feisty pairing that just may work or won’t it? I loved the pairing. The chemistry sizzles off the page. A definite must read.
I love any book by India Kells, including this one. There’s plenty of tension and intrigue, as usual, but I also liked how the characters felt less “alpha” in this one. This one had a great storyline that kept me turning the pages. This is a great romantic thriller to read.
We meet another strong, independent and battling her past, Isabel. She left her one love without a word because she didn’t know how to love him. Kai is determined to bring down his father when the love he lost is called in to help. Will anger and passion distract them from their goal?
Another book by India Kells that keeps you guessing. I couldn’t put it down. I love series where previous main characters continue to appear.
Oh, second chance romance. This 3rd book in the Dark Sparrow series was full of angst, betrayal, and pain. But, it was also a great story about finding trust and love in unlikely places. I think this was more heartwarming than the previous installment in the series. There were still all of the facets of suspense and crime that we’ve come to love from India, but this one hit my feelings a little differently.
This series is a gem!
When you have made sacrifices in your career to get to where you are now, one phone call from the past will turn your world upside down.
Isabel dreams of that night she met the love of her life but regrets everyday that she walked away and left him heartbroken. Now she receives a call from her past asking for a favour but when she arrives and sees a blast from her past will she be able to keep on point or will her heart want more.
Kai has only ever loved one woman, but one night she vanished without a backward glance, but helping his brothers he comes across a blast from the past but does he have to courage to give his heart again.
OMG I love this series, these are some sassy, independent women. Kai and Liam are my favourite brothers and loved this story revolving Kai. The characters run through the whole series and I love the story arc running through. The story is gripping and full of action, twists and turns, I can’t wait for the next book but I would love to see Sasha and Oz get together as you can certainly feeling the chemistry between the these two sizzles off the page.
Wild Bastard is a great second chance romance with a kick. Isabel is a strong, smart, self-made woman. I loved her character. Getting to know Kai was interesting, but I will say that of the brothers so far, I connected with Kai’s backstory the least – which is odd because I usually connect to military characters pretty strongly. It might be because we didn’t really get to see how his past affects him to the extent that we see it with Archer and Aleksei. It’s mentioned a couple of times, but we don’t see the intense emotional toll so it feels superficial.
One thing I loved about the story is that Isabel chose to hang onto a piece of her past and used it strategically. Her relationship with her mother regarding that piece is awesome.
Overall, this is an amazing, intense story that will grab a hold of you and won’t let go.
5/5 Stars
Wild Bastard (A Dark Sparrow Novel #3) by India Kells
The third book in A Dark Sparrow Novels. Kells has really upped her game from the first two books. Lazarus is at it again with helping one of the many half brothers and Kells captures it perfectly.
Isabel is the next Dark Sparrow to be called upon the favor. What she doesn’t realize when she agrees to the meeting is she’ll be running right into the past’s arms. Jones isn’t who she expected to see and it gets better. The quote I chose for Isabel is: “No pressure. Because all I want is you.”
Kai, Delta Force, goes to another meeting in hopes to bring down his father, Finch. What he’s not expecting is for the girl who broke his heart and got away is the one that’s helping. Things don’t go as planned and it scares him. The quote I chose for Kai is: “Are you still set on returning to work tomorrow?”
Romance, suspense, twisted lovers book is for you!
