Ted Dawson is the second to oldest brother of the rowdy Dawson boys. With his oldest brother gone to Tennessee in search of fame on a stage of lights, Ted’s forced to step up and help his aging father run the farm.He needs help, and gets it from the least likely place – a pretty little country girl from his past. The one that stole his heart when he was just a boy. The one that got away… away…
He won’t be making that mistake again.
This is a stand-alone, full-sized novel in the Dawson Brother’s series. Each book will focus on a different brother. HEA is guaranteed, no cheating or violence.

I loved this book. This is the 2nd book in the series, but can be read as a stand-alone. It is the first book I’ve read of the series and had no problem following the characters. It is well written and characters are well developed. I recommend this book. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Second brother syndrome abounds in this tale. Ted feels he’s lived in his brothers shadow all his life and resents the fact everything will go to him despite the fact he doesn’t want it More resentment is felt when his brother manages to get the chance to live his dream. Ted’s father hands him the reigns but it’s then a case of be careful what you wish for. His love life isn’t in great shape either, well what do you expect when you sleep with your brother’s fiancée ( not that much sleeping went on) He has fences to mend and not only on the ranch but all he manages to do is knock them down. He struggles to find his way but the feisty young woman from a neighbouring ranch just might hold the key to his happy ever after.
Brilliant read
OMG ..the emotions cut like a knife and ran so deep between these two characters. Sometimes I wanted to smack some sense into both of them .I got that invested and frustrated with their storyline.
Ted and his good looks and womanizing ways …that unwillingness to see the love Lauralee has held for him all these years and I wish Lauralee just told him her true feelings from the start.
The drama is heartbreaking at times , but the steamy romance between them is beautifully written .
I truly loved all the characters .
The Puppies …..Soooo Cute !!!
not her usual
Great second story of the Dawson Brothers series. Love Ted and Lauralee and their wonderful journey to love. Terrific storyline with great characters. Can’t wait for the next story. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC.
I really enjoyed Ali Parker’s second book in the “Dawson Brothers” series. This book is about Ted, who is the second to the oldest, and has to step up to handle the family ranch. This is a wonderful second chance romance for Ted and Lauralee. They were childhood sweethearts and best friends but unfortunately immaturity and misunderstandings tore them apart. Now they have a second chance at love but will they be able to make it work. This was a really good story that was somewhat of an roller coaster ride but I really enjoyed the story and the characters. There is definitely chemistry between the two! I really am enjoying the Dawson Brothers!
*I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.*
The first installment in this series was great and hopefully the following books will be the same high quality.
As for this book, I was disappointed. I know there was a good story here, but for me, it was just overridden by endless outbursts of anger between the two main characters…which often bled over to innocent bystanders. I found that distracting and in the end, managed to take away from the value of the story. Jealousy, the inability to communicate and the endless sex scenes did not help.
I received a reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
Another amazing book by Ali Parker. This is the 2nd book in this series about the 2nd oldest brother -Ted & Lauralee. They were a couple years ago but he broke her heart. They get a 2nd chance if they can both overcome their jealousy & actually tell each other how they still feel about each other and if Ted can realize some of the things she needs from him before it’s too late & he loses her forever. You won’t be disappointed in this book. Can’t wait for the next book in the series. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
I loved this book. I cannot wait to see if there are more stories in this world. The interaction and play in the book will make you laugh and cry. The imagery makes me think I am really there on the ranch with all of them. This is definitely not your average rancher story. I am leaving a voluntary review for an advanced copy of the book.
A wonderfully written western romance. Ted and Lauralee grew up on ranches next door to each other. This story takes you through so many emotions with these two characters. They both have tempers that get them in trouble because they don’t think before they say or do something they will regret. I loved that we got to know more about the Dawson brothers. Fantastic second book in the series that will keep you turning the pages. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
THIS ISN’T JUST A WESTERN BOYS!!!
OMFG! Yep! Big letters. Not a clue what they mean. Someone want to help me out? Nuh just kidding. I’m going to just jump right in, head first. I could sit here and tell you all about this book. I could even tell you everything that happened right down to clipping your nails. I can even go so far as to tell you just how realistic and down to earth with an incredible storyline. I’ll tell you this, no one could have written this story and made it a living, breating, action packed, adrenaline pumping and heart pounding out of control tale that this show stopping read definitely does. I can tell you that Ali made this from a single thought with smooth flowing and seemingly effortless real, true to life form growing into one magnificent read. With her skills, imagination and an eye for vivid details that she brought us into a whole new world that out shines the sun. I’m not going to sit back and let everyone tell you about the characters unbelievable, steamy, spark flying chemistry between the two main characters or how great their personalities were as they grew stronger and encompassing each other. It has all the twists, turns and unpredictable surprises with all of the emotions and drama that it probably should be a daytime series. But they cannot capture what Ali brings to life here. Ali’s talents and gifts that she works and weaves together without a single wrinkle. She stays true to her own values and knowledge with a craving for creativity that she adds the joy in her writing that it practically glows. This is one hell of a job Ali and I want to thank you for sharing it with us. Remarkable!
After reading the first book in this series, you get to know a little bit about each brother. So when you bring the story of Ted and Lauralee, what can you say about them…2 words Perfect Match. They show us what love can be like from the age of 5 until now. Having to deal with a few obstacles in the way but finally come together to have that true love. This series is so emotional and heartwarming that you can’t help but laugh, cry, smile, and everything in between. This is so worth reading and I hope that you do. Ali Parker congratulations on another wonderful book. Each book gets better and better. I give it 5 stars absolutely. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book as an Advanced Reader’s Copy.
Ah, the Dawson brothers. Some of the only cowboys I actually like. Sexy, fun and the girl next door. I love the banter between the characters. It made me laugh. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book
WILD & AMAZING!
Voluntarily review
A beautifully written story that sends you on one heck of an emotional rollercoaster ride! Amazing hot chemistry! A breathtaking intense must read that grabs hold of you refusing to let you go keeping you hostage burning through the pages! I LOVED IT!
Loved the story of high school sweethearts finding their way back to each other and working through the past. These two are both very strong, independent characters that find their HEA together.
Ali Parker knows how to bring out the best in her characters. Ted is the second oldest who is forced to step up and run the family’s farm after his oldest brother takes off for his chance at being a country singer. Lauralee is the girl the girl that got away and he didn’t know how to recapture his chance until he needed to get help on the ranch. Can she be the key to solving his problem and what about the issues between their families will this solve their problems and bring them all together. I voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review.
