Abel Jin and Delilah Johnson have lived their lives with a hole in their soul, yearning for something they don’t understand.
Until one night Delilah is in mortal danger and a man who’s otherworldly strong and supernaturally fast saves her. Delilah is then cast into a world where fiction comes to life in the form of Abel, her destined mate, a vampire/werewolf hybrid who claims her at first breath … first breath as his.
But Abel knows the danger isn’t done. He’s dreamed for centuries that his mate will perish and he will stop at nothing to keep her safe.
For Delilah, she’s not only coping with fantasy come to life, but a mingling of very different families. Not to mention, she has on her hands a man who doesn’t understand his true nature and has lived his long life thinking he’s a monster.
Abel and Delilah together fills the hole that has been clawing at them for decades. But finally finding each other, it also tips their destinies as the last of The Three. They must unite with the other destined lovers, who with Abel and Delilah, are fated to save the world.
Or die trying.

Im a huge fan of all books written by Kristen Ashley. Her books pull all the emotions out of you. Im currently reading “The Three Series”. Its a three book series and the first book had me up until 2:30 am laughing out loud! Its about vampires which are not usually my favorite type of books but this author has a way of bringing her characters to life in a big way! I’ll update this post once i get further in the series. Definetely a thumbs up for now!! I couldnt find the first books cover in this series. I attached book 2
Omg this series is just fantastic! Its no wonder that this is my 6th read of it!
This book concludes the trilogy…..but I want more! (I always want more!)
And what a conclusion it is!
We see the last of The Three come together (paahahaaa My jokes are hilarious!)
More importantly we get that jaw dropping, hanging on the edge of your seat ending.
I need more rereads!

If at all possible I loved this trilogy even more the second time around. It could be because I did the audio or because Kristen Ashley’s books just get better each time but I know that this will forever be one of my favorite trilogies if not my favorite. What else can I say? Five plus stars of course for the three as well as Gregor, Yuri and Aurora!!

FIVE WILD & FREE STARS!!!
A beautiful and intense conclusion to Kristen Ashley’s The Three series Wild and Free did not disappoint! After With Everything I Am book two in the series I didn’t have high hopes for book three because I a mean how can you top King Callum? And while book two was my favorite of the series, three was powerful in a way only a conclusion book can be.
Abel is the only vampire/werewolf hybrid known in existence and after 200 years on this Earth he has never encountered another of his kind but all that changes one night when he senses vampires attacking HER. With Abel’s animal instincts coming in he knows he must protect this woman at all costs because she is the one who can and will change it all.
Lilah has always felt like she was missing a huge part of herself and while her father understood her mother thought she was insane. Being the daughter of a biker Lilah doesn’t scare easily but when she is attacked late one night in an alley, she can’t help but be terrified of the creatures attacking her. When Lilah thinks there is no hope, HE saves her, and she knows she shouldn’t trust this man, but she can’t help it because this could be the man that can finally make her feel whole.
As Abel and Lilah make their way to each other there are other forces at work. Some wanting to stop them and others wanting to help. Abel is cautious by nature and only wants to protect Lilah but protecting her and his family means letting people in, including the other two couples that make up the Three.
This book differed from the other two because we not only got Lilah and Abel, we also got to revisit some of other favorites including Lucian, Sonia and Callum. As the story is unfolding, we even get a whole new look at Yuri, the cold vampire who only wanted Sonia but all that changes with a new witch. Wild and Free was a constant story of battles, sorrow, love and trying to save the world from the evil forces that be.
There were parts I did not see coming and parts that I saw coming from a mile away, but it was fantastic to me. I’ve never read anything quite like this before and now that I have started a journey with Kristen Ashely, I can’t wait to read some of her other stories. Side note, I really would like a story with maybe Yuri or the children of The Three.
This book is a great fantasy romance read. I was hooked from the start and devoured every word. A great read, I really enjoyed it.
Let me get this off my chest: I know the book is called Wild and Free, but if I had to read either word one more time I would have smashed my kindle against the wall. I even did a word count– Wild: 44 times; Free: 47 times.
Ok, I’m going to start with I enjoyed this book, quite a bit. As usual with any KA you can’t help it but finish it with a smile on your face.
However, I was surprised that I could actually put it down and not feel the need to get back to it until well past the 50% mark. After that, the story finally starts to pick up and it gets exponentially better.
I’m starting to feel like our dear KA is in a time loop or something like The Lake House where they write back and forth from the past and present… the mullet is clear evidence of this. I actually had to google it, and then I wish I hadn’t because then I couldn’t not picture it as Hook’s hair-style. Some things are meant to stay in the past, people. IMHO the mullet is one of them.
Although I really liked Abel and Delilah, and I think Abel’s capacity of apologizing right after cooling down and realizing he had been a dick was absolutely wonderful (we don’t see that very often with alpha books), I thought Delilah was a good h for him. I found myself hoping to see more of Yuri and Aurora, I do see that their POV’s were not what was needed for the story to unfold. I just connected much more to them than to our main characters.
I did love to see Lucien and Leah and Callum and Sonia again, and really, all the supporting characters are crazy funny and you just have to love them as a group. I was kind of shocked by some scenes that in older KA books would have been like, glazed over but this time were very descriptive… particularly the surveillance scene where Vampire Miko is getting his rocks off…
And even more shockingly, I can’t believe I’m saying this, but maybe Abel and Delilah could have had a little less sex on air? At some point I was like “ok…there they go again… uh-huh…ok, moving on!”
All in all, I liked the book, I enjoyed it, I even loved some parts of it.
I think that if the Epilogue included babies for all 3 couples and a more in-depth glance into Yuri and Aurora’s relationship I could have given this book 5 stars. I used to love KA’s epilogues, they were the bomb, the last few were not as fantastic, and I really miss them.
Anyway, a good book, a good finish for the series and a good addition to my KA bookshelf.
3.5
Abel & Delilah
I think I expected too much from this series. I loved the entire concept of the story and it started strong. The story has all the element we need to be captivated, intense, a little bit funny and somewhat action-packed. Still there were things that I can’t help but NOT like…
I really had a hard time liking Abel & Delilah, the way they acted and how their story unfolds… I can’t also help but compare their story to the first two books. I was also expecting a lot of action here and all I got was a lot of talking, some training and the very quick battle at the end.
Good thing that Yuri and Aurora’s story was added here.. I love them and they were right the couple was very cute together…
Overall it is still a wonderful series with characters you’ll absolutely fall and root for.. I truly hoped to see a traditional KA epilogue here.. As I really wanted to see the 4 kids that Lucien & Leah will have. Some pups for Callum & Sonia and if little Greg is a hybrid or a wolf …
“And it breaks my heart you’ve spent two hundred years getting to know yourself and all you’ve come up with is that you’re a monster. You aren’t, Abel. I’ve known you less than two days and I know that for certain. It might take twenty-nine more years of my life to convince you of it, but if this is what I think it is, I’ll have that time and you have my vow I’ll bust my ass to try.”
“I love you too, bao bei, with everything I am, and I’ll do it until the sun falls from the sky.”
“Might does not equal right,” he whispered, his eyes locked with Etienne’s. “Right equals might. It’s a shame, so soon after you learned that lesson, you will die. But at least you learned it.”
Awesome finish to an amazing series. I absolutely adored Delilah and Abel. And this author can do no wrong. The narrator was decent. Definitely worth reading or listening to.
4.5 Stars! Third in The Three series, Wild and Free is the long-awaited conclusion and ultimate fate of the Sacred Triumvirate. This was action-packed, steamy hot, full of hope, and equally heartbreaking.
Summary:
Delilah Johnson has lived with a hole in her soul for as long as she can remember. She’s always yearned to fill it, agonized over it, and now it looks as though she’ll never fill it. Running for her life and no idea why, Lilah fears her journey to find what she yearns for has come to an untimely and brutal end. Just as she resigns herself to her fate, a man with unnatural strength and uncommonly fast saves her life. Not only is she not yet destined to die, but her existence is a lot more important than she ever could have guessed. Abel Jin felt an overwhelming desire to save the beautiful woman from her supernatural attackers, and as a vampire werewolf hybrid, he did this easily. The moment they are face to face, Abel knows that Delilah is his, and he’d die to protect her. Like Lilah, Abel has lived his multiple lifetimes with a gaping hole deep within himself. Until now, he’s never found the special something that filled it. Being together is everything that’s right, and Lilah has no trouble accepting who and what Abel is. It’s just a fact that her family is growing larger and more beautiful. Despite their union, Abel knows that the danger is not done. He’s dreamt for years of the danger he and his mate face, and combining forces with the other couples of The Three seems his only choice. As the last of The Three, Abel and Delilah’s union sets the prophesies in motion. They must stand with their brothers and sisters against those that wish to see their demise and the enslavement of the humans they care about. But first, Delilah must handle a man who doesn’t understand his true nature, and believes himself to be a monster. As things heat up, The Three face war and loss from an enemy with unknown talents and allies, but they will stand strong, united, in order to save the world. Or perish trying.
I really loved this book. Delilah is one of my favorite kinds of KA heroines. She’s full of life and love, she’s funny, spunky, sassy, strong, and independent. I loved her immediate acceptance of everything and everyone, and her ability to speak her mind when something was preying on it and letting it go after her piece was said. Abel was also a pretty nice hero. He was a bit abrasive, scarily protective, unbelievably possessive, and completely unaware of how awesome he was. I felt for his journey through life not understanding the man he is, but he still was a great man. I loved the way he was with Lilah, and how strong their bond was so quickly. KA gave us a great cast of supporting characters and we got a look into some of their minds during this story. Not only did we get to go back to Lucien and Leah and Callum and Sonia, but we also got a subplot with Yuri. I loved this! Yuri has previously been that hotheaded vamp that kind of grates on your nerves, but boy do we see differently in Wild and Free. This was a genius move by KA in my opinion. Seriously, fell in love with the vampire Yuri. Lol. Overall, I really enjoyed the story. It was a fantastic ending to a story that has captured all of our hearts. It’s a story about love, acceptance, hope, and determination regardless of the risk you take onto yourself. It’s about the ravages of war, the loss, the heartache, the pain and fear. It’s a compelling story. I believe in the message of unconditional love and acceptance among humanity, and the fact that united and strong we can defeat the evils of selfishness, greed, and persecution. On a lighter note, it was super sexy with several uber alphas making the pages sizzle, and who can resist that? While I loved this story, a lot, I was kind of disappointed in the epilogue. I think I was expecting more of a futuristic look. While it was a good ending, it wasn’t excellent for me. Still, a wonderful paranormal series, and I’m sincerely hoping KA writes more in this genre. <3
Genres; Adult, Mystery, Paranormal, Romance, Suspense.
4 Solid Stars.
Negatives & Positives
This one is my least favorite due to (hard to believe) an overabundance of sex scenes and….
1. Not enough depth nor intelligence for the main heroine Delilah. She really could have been so much more. But mostly she just wanted to bang Abel and never seemed to know how to do much else. The plus side of this is the sex scenes were pretty hot and steamy. The minus side is it became a bit mundane.
2. Talk about taking the long way around to get to your goal! There was so much unnecessary information in this one it just flat out annoyed me at times. It truly interfered with the flow and enjoyment of the story.
So why 4 stars?
The plot/story line was great.
Able was awesome & there were a lot of things I did like about Delilah.
Almost all the other characters in this one really shined. There were some great twist and turns. A lot of surprises that kept me intrigued.
Yuri! I loved him. I wish she would write a novella or something with him and his lady love in it. A grand adventure for them.
The section towards the end where Yuri and the witches are having a bonfire was hilarious!
This should have been a 5 star series all the way through. I liked it a lot. I am glad I read them all. But I was disappointed. It didn’t really measure up to what I think of as Kristen Ashley’s standards.
bookshelves: romance, suspense, mystery, adult, paranormal
Third and last book of series. It brought everything together. I really liked all the characters and the story line. I wish there was more. Oh well.
Our girl has a little jealousy problem, “you fed from someone you effed and you did that yesterday! The day you met me!” He lifted his hands like he was going to touch me, so I threw one of mine out, batting his away, shouting, “don’t touch me!” Abel he’s rough and alpha but he has a soft spot when it comes to his girl, “pussycat, effin’ you hard on your knees. You think I don’t know you’ll give me anything?” He also likes to tell his girl what’s going to happen, “it’s gonna get un-shaky and I’m gonna plant my babies inside you and we’re gonna have a family.” He sometimes has to be firm, “Off. The. Pill,” he repeated with caution, not quite as gentle, so I knew that I had to proceed with caution.” Obviously Abel stands firm on what he wants. I liked this book it was better than the first one I didn’t read the second one as I was naughty and saw some reviews and I was on the fence about it, but this one was really good.
