When you fall in-love it’s forever. But sometimes forever comes with a price.
I never meant to meet Nathaniel Teller. It was by accident, on a Tuesday, that I walked into his bar. He was solemn, intense and hiding a secret behind those stoic green eyes.
I never intended to fall in-love with him. We were supposed to be just friends. But I fell for him hard, deep. There’s no turning back.
I … There’s no turning back.
I never thought his past would be so dark. And if I thought I had any chance of being in his future, I was wrong. Because his past is his future.
And I need to walk away.

Loved it!
Picking up the pieces of her life and moving clear across the US, Crystal is looking for love. In a series of horrid dates at the same bar that left me laughing, she finds friendship with Nate, the bartender. But when friendship turns to so much more the two lead the reader on an emotional journey filled with ups and downs, new beginnings and tear filled endings as well as the true meaning of love. Simply put this was a beautifully written story that has the reader believing in magic while at the same time wiping tears from their cheeks. Once again Jeannine Colette does not disappoint.
“Never fear the loss your heart can’t seem to bear, for when you have the gain, your soul will explode with happiness. The loss will always be there, but the gain will help even out the soul.”
This quote was from this beautifully written book.
Nate & Crystal’s story isn’t a traditional Love story but it is a real story full of Love and loss and the hope that comes from Magical Roses.
I truly appreciate how these characters had to accept their past to find their future.
5 Rose Colored Stars!
One day Crystal Reid walked into a bar. The door was unlocked, but the bar was not opened for business. The only other person there, was the good looking bartender with the most beautiful olive green eyes. Neither of their lives would ever be the same.
Crystal had packed up her life and left New York on a whim, in search of love and adventure in San Francisco. She was hoping to find a man to love, and mend her broken heart from a short failed marriage. She was looking for love in all the wrong places, like online dating. She was sure if she checked all the right boxes, she would find her ideal mate. “You know how people say there are plenty of fish in the sea? At thirty years old, I’ve realized, if they’re still swimming, they’re there for a reason.”
Nathaniel Teller is the bartender at Henley’s Pub. “He has deep-set almond shaped eyes. They’re like looking at moss in the heart of a forest with no sunshine, yet it thrives and brings color so vibrant to a rather dark space. There’s remorse in his eyes, and there yearning to be forgiven. It’s a shame since he has the face of someone who shouldn’t have a care in the world. I don’t know who hurt him or why he feels he must carry the burden.”
Fate seems to have brought them together, and things (good or bad) seem to happen for a reason, their attraction is electric, but he is emotionally unavailable and only offers friendship, but can men and woman be just friends? “I’d rather have him as a friend than not have him at all.” Two different people, coming from different worlds with dissimilar interest and paths that should never have crossed. This is a slow-burn, build up romance, with sexual frustration. Beautiful writing by Jeannine Colette, and the two of them falling in “olive juice” and if you want to know what I mean by that, you must read the book! Highly recommended!!
