I received a copy of this book via the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This book is a ride and a half.
As the blurb says, it starts out with Zelda or “Zee” getting her leg caught in a bear trap. Thankfully, Fox checks the traps daily and finds her in time. But it was close. And that’s just the first couple of chapters… what happens next is even more of a ride. This makes for a really good read and I truly enjoyed it. The story is well written, the characters are developed nicely and the heat between the two will steam up your Kindle.
This story grabbed my attention from the first page and kept it till the last page. Lexi Whitlow was able to make me feel the hypothermia setting in on Zelda. Lexi Whitlow was able to make me feel Fox’s loneliness. Zelda is intelligent, tenacious, and a little crazy. Fox is intelligent, a loner, and resourceful. When these two bump heads the fireworks go off. In my opinion this was a great story with suspense, intrigue and hot sex. Sometimes the story got a little technical and confusing for me, but I was able to get past that. Most of it was cleared up in the Deleted Scenes at the end of the book. In my opinion Lexi Whitlow wrote a great story. In my opinion if you are a Lexi Whitlow fan she did not disappoint. If you are not a Lexi Whitlow fan I think Wild would make you a fan and I recommend reading it. I received an ARC edition for my honest and voluntary review.
TO HOT TO HANDLE!!!
A wildly addictive read with a rollercoaster of a ride. Hot, steamy, sexy, sensual, fear, hurt, fury and a chemistry thats so combustible it’ll rock you to the core. This is a one of those one of a kind kind of reads. Your captivated from the first chapter and held prisoner till the very last word. You can’t put it down, your frozen to the edge of your seat waiting for whats just around the next corner. Lex pulled out all of the stops on this masterpiece and brought it to life for our enjoyment. Great job.
Fox is a man currently living off grid, hiding from the FBI while he tries to sort out how to deal with being betrayed. Zelda is a reporter, that is hot on his trail until she becomes injured during her pursuit. Fox pretends to be someone else as he tends to Zee’s injury. Zee is drawn to the man who came to her rescue, but she has a hunch that he might be the man she has been searching for. Will Fox come clean to the woman he finds himself falling for or will she find take it personally that he’s been lying to her from the start? Lexi Whitlow doesn’t disappoint with this 5 star read!
Delectable hacker extraordinaire fugitive billionaire meets a fiery investigative reporter and romance blossoms. I’m not into romance involving rough and wild mountain billionaires and almost didn’t read this story because of it, but I was pleasantly surprised when I realized it is definitely not about that. The story has suspense, hot chemistry between the couple, sexy, but sweet male hero. The hacker/nerdy side of the story is a little unrealistic, but it is a romance story so as long as no one takes that part to heart, there is little to dislike.
A man hiding from the world, a woman determined to reveal him, two people more well-matched for one another than they could have ever expected. Their attraction builds slowly as does the trust and honesty. The past catches up with them, though, and they decide that protecting each other means going on the run. The path to atonement and justice is a long one and there are unexpected twists and turns, allies and enemies, and through it all they’ll have to decide if they trust one another enough to ride the wild storm they’re caught in.
This was far more dramatic than I expected and I was actually grateful for that. It allowed the characters’ back story, personalities, and strengths build and grow. It also gave ample time for all the elements of the plot to come together and find resolution. While I thought it was a bit too long I couldn’t deny that the breadth achieved for the whole thing was surprisingly great. Zee wasn’t just a tenacious freelance journalist, she was thorough, caring, considerate, honest, and incredibly strong-willed. During the wait, the interrogations, the legal drama, the journey to Fox, all of it showed immense inner strength. She was a fierce woman and I grew to really love her.
Fox was a bit more difficult. I could understand why he did what he did and valued his inner sense of justice, but he was a bit more reactionary and was prone to letting emotions run away with him at times. It was an unexpected trait because we’re used to seeing it in female leads, not the male, and while it was kind of refreshing, it was a bit frustrating. Overall, though, they were great together and the events of the story coalesced satisfactorily.
A reporter on the hunt for the story that will grant her a Pulitzer Prize is put on hold while climbing a mountain when she steps into a bear trap. It’s bitter cold, the snowfall is increasing, she is bleeding and unable to extract herself from the trap. Needless to say, she is hurt, confused and scared…suddenly someone is there. Fox Guthrie, aka, Digurati Faux Hon has secrets…this place is his sanctuary and she has invaded his space. If he saves her, he is putting himself in danger. What will he chose?
Both Fox and Zee have secrets…will those secrets be revealed and if so, will it bring them closer together or create a rift and put them both in danger?
I have long been a fan of Lexi Whitlow’s writing and I must say “Wild” did not disappoint. In fact, it is absolutely stunning start to finish! If you are in the mood for a fast paced romance story filled with mystery, intrigue and heart-stopping heat, (in the middle of a blizzard) then this is a good one for you. I received a reader copy and was so pleased with the story, the characters and the underlying mystery that brought the H & h together that I have no problem recommending it to other readers who enjoy this type of story.
Just when you think something is predictable, you find yourself moving in a different direction. Loved every minute…and am pleased to give this one a solid 5 stars….all well earned.
I didn’t care for this story because I couldn’t connect with the heroine, Zelda Reynolds. Who in the world would go out into a snowstorm and get her leg caught in a bear trap and when the hero, Fox Guthrie, rescues her she is horrible to him? Her excuse is that she is a reporter wanting a story on the elusive Mr. Guthrie. I just didn’t feel the connection with these two or this story.
