Well, this year I have read more musician book boyfriends than any other year before. And all they are super special to me because, except the fact that I spent my high school years in a music school, I’m a total sucker for musicians. And this time, this BBF has gone straight to the Top 10.
Wicked White makes you drown in emotions and makes it incredibly hard for you to find the courage to put it down. You literally feel like you are creating a death-punished crime when you have to.
The plot is so well-developed that you can finish a very big part of the book quite quickly because of that reason. From the first words of Ace in the first chapter, you get really excited and curious about how the story between Ace and Iris because of all these unexpected situations that happen and all of these unpredictable emotions they evoke from the characters.
And since I mentioned Ace, let’s focus on him for a bit!
Ace Johnson is one of those BBFs that you can’t not to like him. And the fact that he’s moodier than many other BBFs I have come across to, it just makes him even more interesting. And of course, that he is a rock-band member – the lead singer whatsoever – I think says and explains a lot!
And of course, he’s so sweet that he’s going to melt your heart with his lines because they are JUST. SO. GOOD!!
I really don’t have a lot to say about this book because I liked it so much that I can’t describe my emotions accurately. And as I always say, you should read it so you can feel – possibly – for yourself what I felt during its reading.
And although this is the first book by Michele A. Valentine I have read, I strongly think that I’m going to read A L L of her future books because she writes so well that I can’t resist her.
Michelle is my go to author for all things rock stars. This book just proves that again. I loved this more than I can express.
Ace was struggling with the rock star life. Mainly because of his manager. When he gets a phone call that sends him spiraling he walks away from it all.
Iris is in town trying to take over her late Grandma’s trailer lot. She unknowingly rents one to Ace who is hiding out from everyone and everything.
“I hate these people just as much as they hate me, and I can’t be around them for one more second. I don’t care what I’m losing. It’s nothing compared to my sanity and the self-worth ill lose by sticking around and continuing to be used”
Ace just wants peace and to get his life back. Iris just wants to survive and keep her Grandma’s lot from the bank. These two couldn’t be more different. But wow they are perfect.
“It’s almost as if we were fated to be.”
I love everything about this. It was different than her Black Falcon books and that is a good thing. Read this! You will not be sorry.
