This ‘Dangerous Love’ story is one suspenseful read that gets readers motors running and their hearts pounding. Remy and Asher are strong, engaging characters that easily pull readers into their story and the chemistry between them leaves scorch marks in its wake. But this relationship has history that caused some heart break so there is also some very turbulent emotions involved as well.
This engaging and emotionally gripping read has a fast pace and is full of suspense that keeps readers locked on tight while Remy and Asher tiptoe around just how much they want each other. With some twists and turns, the bad guys ensure that the characters nor the readers are sure just what’s going to happen and why as the danger to Remy escalates. This story also has a different and surprising ending that takes the cake and makes this story a very entertaining read.
What would you do if you found a bag full of hundreds of thousands of dollars? Ten years ago, Remy’s heart was broken by the love of her life because Asher was offered a job of a lifetime with the FBI. With his mother gone, and him at a loss, he needed to escape. Now he’s back and he’s full of guilt and regret. Remy meant everything to him and after he left, her life pretty much fell apart. She even went as far as to fall in love and almost marry a con man. So when he finds evidence to arrest her fiance, at the wedding, Asher does everything he can to put her pieces back together. Little did he know that she’d found a bag full of cash, called it her own, and brought a whole slew of new trouble into their lives.
I’m always a sucker for a good second chance romance, and Wicked Sinner was a good one! I loved how the author had Asher working towards forgiveness and letting these two friends find their way back to each other. I also loved getting to spend so much time with the secondary characters, giving me the chance to get to know them and be intrigued enough to read their stories too. With a touch of suspense, this story turned out to be an enjoyable small town romance.
I love these guys. I was so upset in book 1 seeing them dance around each other and not acknowledging their history. Which apparently wasn’t actually history…
Remy and the one who ran away (coughs suspiciously sounding like *Asher*) were the fairytale until one dark and stormy night everything crumbled.
Fast forward ten years and a barely patched up “friendhsip” while he interrupts her wedding. Yeah, these two are a mess. But they are our mess, anyone who read Naughty Stranger had to have felt the pull and therefore claimed them as their own.
While I appreciate finally seeing these two together, I want to shake them until they bleed. They are no less frustrating in Wicked Sinner. Constantly getting in their own way and fighting the inevitable, Remy and Asher make you work for that ever after. And considering the ending, they clearly aren’t the only ones. (Side eyes Kinsley and Rhett)
Wicked Sinner by Stacey Kennedy tells the story of Asher Sullivan and Remy Brennan. Asher and Remy were the couple in high school although he waited till she was 18 to take her virginity. She loved him so. So when instead of asking her to marry him he informs her that he is leaving town alone she is devastated. This story takes place ten years later. Asher moved back to town five years ago and Remy has moved on or attempted to. This is a romantic suspense with twists and turns galore. A fun, feel good escape.
I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here is my review.
10 years ago Asher Sullivan broke Remy Brennan’s heart when left Stoney Creek and her for a job with the FBI. She never really got over him leaving but when he returned 5 years ago, she tried to move on with her life and forget he was still around. Now she is about to marry a man that can make her happy and her life simple. But Asher has other plans. When Asher stops the wedding, Remy thinks and hopes that he is there to declare his love for her. But he is there to arrest her soon to be husband. Turns out that Damon is a con man that is only after her inheritance that she will get once she is married.
Asher is still in love with Remy and he knew he made a mistake leaving her all those years ago. But he was in a dark place after his mother died and needed to get away. Even if it meant leaving the one person he loved. But he feared losing anyone else that he loved. Being back in Stoney Creek and so close to Remy, all he wants to do is keep her safe.
Can Remy forgive him for hurting her yet again? Will Asher tell her how he really feels? Will Damon came after her when he gets out of jail? What happens when Damon’s friends come after Remy for what Damon stole from them?
This is a great story that is filled with friends, lovers, lost love and suspense. So be ready for this group of long-time friends and their little town that I would have loved to have grown up in. I can not wait for Rhett and Kinsley’s story. And if you haven’t read anything from Stacey Kennedy, then start with this series, you will love her writing style and the way she tells a story, I sure do.

Wow, what an amazing story!
This action-packed romance hits the ground running, with Asher interrupting Remy’s wedding to arrest the groom. Devastated when she realizes the truth, Remy seeks solace from her friends, and can’t help but include Asher in that circle. Just when it looks like she’s picking up the pieces and moving on with her life, things start to get really scary and it turns out there’s a lot more to the story of the conman who was after her inheritance.
I was enthralled with this story right from the start, and couldn’t put it down. As Asher and Remy spend more time together, they begin to understand what when wrong all those years ago. The reawakening of their romance is complicated by Asher’s investigation into her ex and determining the reason behind the threats she’s now facing. Every bit of this story is intricately woven with the rest, tying up all the loose ends while revealing a complex conspiracy where not every villain is a bad guy and some fights are best left for another day.
There’s so much heartfelt emotion in this book, and it’s exquisitely written with just the right amount of steam and angst. Their HEA was triumphant, and the epilogue left me stunned and waiting for the next installment of this series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Remy Brennan is about to say “I-do” when her ex-boyfriend stands up and objects… but not for reasons that one would think. She is about to marry a man that isn’t who he claims to be and Remy’s ex Asher Sullivan isn’t about to let her get caught up in his web of lies. He claims he is doing it to protect her, but Remy has a hard time being thankful, because she learned a long time ago that trusting Asher comes with major complications… ones that can lead to a broken heart.
But little does she know Asher has a plan, one that involves him mending her broken heart, and repairing the damage he caused between them all those years ago. But just as his plan gets underway secrets come to light and threaten to end their happy little reunion.
Wicked Sinner is a steamy second chance romance that promises to squeeze the heart in all the right places. This is a story about forgiveness, making amends, and rediscovering lost love, and it’s a beautiful one at that… Ms. Kennedy’s words had me smothered in feels, and holding back the tears. I loved this unique pairing, even though they were at odds they still complimented one another nicely, and it was easy to see that they were meant for one another. They had palpable chemistry, and could have the temperatures rising at the drop of a hat, but they also had a lot of healing to do too. I felt all their pain, passion, love, and resistance to forgive… they really gave my heart a work-out. If you like your stories with a bits of angst, suspense, and loads of feels, then Wicked Sinner is for you…it delivers that and more!! Highly recommend!
I requested an advanced copy from the publisher, via NetGalley, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
Asher and Remy were an item but he breaks her heart and goes to Washington to be a FBI agent. Ten years later, Remy is about to be married when Asher crashes her wedding. He is a con man after her inheritance and Asher has been investigating him. After he is arrested, Remy gets all his stuff out of her apartment and finds a duffel bag full of money. Since her inheritance didn’t go through because she didn’t get married, she keeps the money to open up a new age potion store. What she doesn’t expect is someone coming after her. As Asher and the guys try to figure out why a criminal would be after Remy, Asher will do anything to protect her. Can Remy get out if the mess she has made and finally get her happily ever after?
Good story about two people who must grow and deal with the pain that life has dealt them. Sexy scenes. Suspense. The only thing that I didn’t like was Asher constantly blaming himself for ever bad thing that happened in Remy’s life. Although some of her decisions are questionable, she’s a big girl and has to take responsibility for her actions, which she does,

Holy $hit! This book had me HOOKED! I was afraid to put it down and ended up staying up way past my bedtime. It was worth it though. Asher wants to protect Remy. He needs to protect Remy. He is still in love with Remy. But he thinks he is not good for her. He thinking is damaged and he needs to move past that. Remy is mad at Asher. Not just for their past, but he arrested her fiance at their wedding. Well, the con man who wanted her for her money, at their wedding. I love how these two come together and work through their “issues”. There is an HEA, but the journey? Oh the journey kept me glued to my kindle… everything else was ignored.
Where are the sound effects when I needed them…wooooohh. Damn Stacey Kennedy…this is one freaking amazing story. Asher was such a great guy and his pain was just killing me. I had so moments in this story when I either smiled, laughed and even teared up. So many emotions. I loved Remy so much. What a touch cookie. That beginning..when she smiled at him because she thought he was there for one reason but really it was another. (Don’t want to ruin it for the readers). And when she would tell him of the dreams of his mom and then that last dream. And when Asher came in with those gifts…all the feels!!! AND….what a set up for Rhett and Kinsley! Now you’ve left me clamoring for more!!!!!! Dangerous Love is everything. It has such a great story too with the money.
Wicked Sinner is the second book in this series and it is even better then the first! Loved loved Asher and Remy’s story. It is a romantic entertaining thriller I couldn’t put down! Can’t wait for the next book in this series.
Remy has been through heartbreak in the past thanks to Asher leaving her. She is supposed to be getting married but Asher breaks up the wedding to arrest her husband to be because he’s a con man. Remy was hoping Asher was there to claim her. What would you do if you discovered a bag of cash? Remy ends up with some very bad criminals after her and Asher is an FBI agent on the run with her to protect her. Asher left Remy to pursue his career with the FBI and now that he’s back will it be too late for a second chance? A steamy, smoking hot read with all the craziness you could want in a story.

Avid Reader –
M/F Second chance romance
I will start by stating that I did not read book one and never felt that I was lost. All of the characters and how they fit together is explained in this book.
Asher was dead set on running away when the last of his family died. He was floundering and rather than lean on those closest to him, he decided that he needed to protect them by leaving. However, in the process, he broke Remy’s heart.
Remy was raised by her nana. Remy’s mom is absentee at best, but Remy does hear from her every now and then. Remy’s nana believed in a little magic and so does Remy. But when Asher left her, Remy feels that her life kind of fell apart too. Without her best friends surrounding her, she wouldn’t have made it. But now that Asher is back, it doesn’t seem to matter. Remy has moved forward in her life. She’s getting married!
Asher knows that he hurt Remy beyond what he can even comprehend. But Asher has always been around to protect her and this time isn’t any different. He can’t let Remy marry Damon. Remy doesn’t know it, but Damon isn’t who he says he is.
After the debacle that was Remy’s wedding, she isn’t sure who to trust, who to lean on, and what to do. Asher is determined to be anything that Remy needs at the moment. He wants to redeem himself.
This story is full of love, friendship, mystery, and romance. I loved watching all of their friends and really enjoyed watching Remy and Asher find their way back to each other. I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
Triggers: Con men, stalking and murder

This is the second book in the series, and I would say that it is a good idea to read them in order, so you know more about the characters and the town but it is a new story, so if you are too impatient to start, you can always go back later!
In this installment, Asher returns to his hometown after leaving his first love, Remy, at the end of high school. She has had a difficult time since, as her inheritance is conditional on her being married, and she has never really forgotten Asher. However, as we see at the very beginning, she is about to get married. However Asher stops it at the altar – sadly, not because he wants her, but because her husband to be is a con man who wants her money.
With the agreement of her friends, Remy makes a decision which changes the course of her life… and not all for the good. I have to say that the decision is definitely an ‘interesting’ one, and it could have been a huge issue with how much readers like Remy, but by having Peyton and Kinsley in on the secret it is sort of okay! I found the spells and the magic side of things fun, and not too serious, although her strong lifelong plan to open a shop was definitely key to the decision which gets her into so much trouble.
I enjoyed the romance, the inevitable chemistry, and the complications which led them to finally admit to what we knew all along. A good addition to the series, and the promise of Rhett finally waking up to himself and what Kinsley could really mean to him.

Truly fell for Asher and Remy. I knew there was history there but wow, my poor heart. But their kind of love friends or more is worth it and hopefully they’ll see it before it’s too late.. again.
WICKED SINNER is book two in Stacey Kennedy’s Dangerous Love series and brings together a police detective and his former high school girlfriend in a delectable reunion story. The story line is easy to become enthralled with and the characters are fun to get to know.
Remy almost immediately snagged this reader’s heart when upon hearing Asher object at her wedding, she thought her one true love had finally returned to claim her. He left her heartbroken years ago, so what’s a girl to think when she hears THAT voice just as she’s about to speak her vows to another man??
Asher was a complex character. On one hand I felt a grudge against him for how he had done Remy, but on the other hand, I admired his loyalty and devotion to protecting her from a conman.
I recommend this story to anyone enjoying some intrigue with their romance. It’s quirky and fun with just enough mystery to keep you hooked throughout.
Stacey’s writing never surprises me and her writing keeps getting better by the book.
We got to meet Asher and Remy in Naughty Stranger. I knew from the minute that Asher interrupted Remy’s wedding that we were in for a wonderful ride with them. Asher broke Remy one time and she’s not willing to let him do that again, but now that Asher is back all he wants to do be protect Remy.
This is another must read and I can’t wait to get my hands on Ruthless Bastard, but April 2020 seems so far away.
Wicked Sinner by Stacey Kennedy is book Two in the Dangerous Love Series. This is the story of Asher Sullivan and Remy Brennan. I have read the previous book, but feel you can make this a standalone book if you wish to do so. Asher and Remy where once young and seem to be in love but Asher just up and left leaving Remy. Now all these years later Remy was about to marry only to have Asher bust it up saying that her soon to be husband was a bad guy. Which has left her confused and in danger. Asher has always wanted to protect Remy and things haven’t changed with that desire. But this might be their second chance to have more.
Enjoyed their story.
Second chance romance, small town, ruined wedding: Wicked Sinner by Stacey Kennedy delivers all of it. Remy has been hurt so much throughout her life. Asher caused the biggest hurt of all when he left. However, his return also brings about the ruining of her wedding when he objects. But not for the reason Remy was hoping…
Remy is such a quirky character. She was raised by her grandmother who taught her all about potions and cleansing spells and other hippy-dippy stuff. Remy wanted to open her own “new age” shop, but she need her inheritance to do it. Remy has great “girl squad” to support her and I love that.
Its easy to hate Asher for what he did. He bailed on Remy with no excuse. Then when her life got even harder, he still wasn’t there. Now that he is back, he wants to be her friend. I kinda wanted to throat punch him for being a tool. He is now a local cop and the one to figure out that Remy’s soon to be husband isn’t who he says he is. He has this level of guilt that is not quite understandable. If he really is sorry, why doesn’t he TALK to Remy about it? Instead he lets her ignore him for 4 years! He didn’t just come back to town and ruin her wedding-he had been back for years!
I struggled at times with the story because I didn’t really believe in the Chemistry between Remy and Asher. Heat? Yeah sure. But actual feelings? Meh. And the added suspense was good, but abrupt and not really fleshed out enough to make it believable.
If you’ve read most of my reviews, you know I have a love/hate relationship with second chance romance, and how it makes me feel. There’s usually SO MUCH ANGST, and that’s just not my jam. I think the reason this one worked for me, was because the bulk of the angst and brokenhearted feelings were pretty far in the past, and had mostly already been dealt with. This was a unique situation, and I really enjoyed their connection.
Asher Sullivan is a police detective in his small hometown of Stoney Creek, Maine. He grew up there, and his 2 lifelong best friends are detectives as well. Once, ten years ago, when tragedy drove him out of town, and towards a job in D.C. with the FBI, he broke the love of his life, Remy’s, heart by leaving. After 5 years, he returned home, but she would barely acknowledge his existence. He didn’t really know how to fix things between them, so he was just biding his time until she would finally speak to him again. But, by then, about a year before, she was seeing someone else, and now she’s set to marry him. Asher has always had a bad feeling about Damon, Remy’s fiance, and so he dug into him, only to find the worst info. As much as he knows Remy will never forgive him, the warrant comes through right in the middle of her wedding ceremony, so he objects, only to arrest Damon for fraud.
Remy Brennan thought she and Asher would be together forever. When he broke her heart and left town, and then her only real family, her nana, died a short time later, she was a complete mess. She finally got her life back to some sort of normal, but she still doesn’t have everything she wants. She’s been dating Damon for a year, and thinks he’s mostly perfect, though all her friends hate him. When Asher objects in the middle of her wedding, her treacherous heart leaps, thinking he’s finally going to make things right between them. Turns out, he only needed to arrest Damon for trying to steal Remy’s inheritance. Also, his name isn’t really Damon. Guess he was a little TOO perfect?? Now, she doesn’t know what to think, as feelings for Asher she thought she was completely over, are rearing their ugly heads, and she might be in trouble with the local mob, due to “Damon’s” shenanigans.
Remy and Asher had an electric connection that neither time, nor distance could lessen. She didn’t really want to feel for him the way she did after all the time that had passed, but she couldn’t seem to help herself. Asher doesn’t think he can give Remy what she really wants and needs, a steady life, with a family and home. But, he can’t let her go either. He’s determined to protect her from the current threats, and then attempt to actually let her go for good. As if.
Remy’s love of her nana’s magics, and herbal remedies, and her use of tarot and such in her daily life, might make some people think her strange, but she doesn’t care. She knows what she knows, and she’s determined to share it with others. When she finally opens her dream shop, selling all the things she learned from her nana, she’s so happy, until the bad guy starts sniffing around. Also, she can’t help but give in to her body’s need for Asher, even though her brain is shrieking warnings, while her heart is trying to leap from her chest towards him. It’s a giant mess, and she’s not sure how to fix it.
When Asher comes up with a fix for their situation, it seems perfect, until he realizes it will ruin everything between them for good, if he isn’t totally honest about everything. I really loved how each of them tried everything to stop from falling into each other again, but it was just impossible. They were meant to be.
The suspense plot was good, and kept me guessing about why things were happening, and how they could stop it all. I’m intrigued by the local mob boss too. Will we ever learn more about him, I wonder? The side characters here are mostly the same crew from book 1, and I enjoy them all so much, ESPECIALLY Kinsley! She’s Remy’s BFF, and the hero from book 1, Boone’s, sister. I cannot wait for her story next, with the last of the male best friend detective trio, Rhett. He seems like an overly stoic, damaged, man-whoring, piece of work, so I’m so curious how that’s all going to go down. Excited to find out!
From the prologue to closing line, I was so engulfed in this book! Wicked Sinner, written by author Stacey Kennedy, is a fantastic book!
Remy Brennan is just trying to live her life, trying to gain her inheritance so she can open her business of potions and spiritual…and unknowingly marrying a con-man may put those plans to a screeching halt.
Asher Sullivan, ex-FBI agent and ex-love of Remy’s life, is trying to protect Remy…but ends up just hurting her more.
My heart broke with Remy’s, not just once…but twice. Like…serious heartbreak! I had tears!!! Asher has a major part in both of these, (thanks a lot, Asher!) but being Remy’s friend for so many years, he wants to help her heal.
This romance story has love, heartache, heat, mystery/danger, secrets, voodoo/magic and second chances. I thoroughly enjoyed this second book in the Dangerous Love series so much! It was a quicker read and one I did not want to put down! I loved the 2 person POV, and the flow of the storyline, and the characters were excellent! Very much looking forward to the next book in the series! 5-stars!
