What a great addition to this fantastic contemporary new adult series!! We follow Summer just as she finds out her long term boyfriend cheated on her ruining her world. As if this is not traumatizing enough she gets some more issues to deal with as well. Running into her savior was an accident but he sure manages to be there just when she needs him. After quite a few bumps in the road we get our HEA that will make you have faith in humanity again even if just for minute. Perfect for fans of the genre. I totally loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.
Wow this book was not what expected.. first of all Nick cheating was not expected and if nice guys like that cheat what chance have we got!!
However the leading man did not disappoint, I wasn’t expecting him at all. I kept thinking of all the people I thought it could be and he never crossed my mind was a total shock!!
I loved that we found out quickly and I loved how the story was based on what people go through every day in more ways than one. I loved how the care and support got her through it and that she became her own person and better for it.
The books a must read. Love the series and can’t wait for the final book!
I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it.
Summers story will have you on the edge of your seat and not believing how her heart gets broken and put back together by the most unlikely character. I love this series and the characters they are loveable likeable and you feel like you know each of them and what they should and shouldn’t do. A highly recommended must read series that I couldn’t put down
Another great book which had me hooked from the first couple of pages I love summer and JB story , it was raw , honest , sensual, and eventually loving …..
”This girl had no idea how easy she was to be around. She was like the sun, pulling others to her warmth, her glow. And I knew I was already prepared to risk getting burned just for the chance to bask in her light a little longer.”
Wow, I did not expect Wicked promises to be such an emotional read. I’ve followed this series since the start and you all know that Maverick Prince will always be my number 1, but in this story he was so much more. The way he was there for Summer in this book made me fall so much harder for him.
This is the story of Summer, the youngest Stone-Prince and the heartache that she endures to get her HEA. I won’t give away any spoilers but I will tell you the emotions I felt whilst reading Wicked Promises, Goddamn, LA Cotton killed me!
I was hooked from the start, crying my eyes out from the beginning. A must read. If you haven’t read the Wicked Bay series, do yourself a favour and check it out. You won’t regret it.
A story of heartbreak and healing, LA Cotton has just once again proved why she’s a 1-click author for me.
Summer has always been more comfortable in the background and played things on the safer side with a plan. As she prepares to leave for college her life and plans take a sharp turn and she is left to figure out what to do next. Can she overcome the obstacles and land mines that have been thrown her way?
Summer Stone-Prince’s life is about to change. She shows that not everyone has it easy when they hit that point where they move from teenager to young adult. And she actually found someone, or maybe he found her, to be her champion. J.B. Holloway is trying to get back in the game. He makes some very grown up decisions when most in his age group are all about having fun.
For some readers, this may be an emotional rollercoaster ride. Having a box of tissue handy just in case might be a good idea. What I’ve read of this series, I’ve enjoyed as well as had issues with. This one has to be my favorite though. The author hasn’t written anything that didn’t seem probable. It’s one where I could see the families existing in my town – the most realistic. If there was one thing that I really didn’t like is what the author discloses in her Author’s Note.
This is a series where you’ll come to care about these young adults. In this book, you can really tell how much they all care about each other. So I’ll be interested to see what the author has in store for her readers once the next book comes out.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
I’ve been waiting not so patiently for Wicked Promises, I was so excited to read Summer’s story. Out of all the Stone-Prince family, she is the one who doesn’t rock the boat, she’s caring and friendly. So why did her story have to be the one that gutted me most? This girl has her future happily planned out with Nick. Until she finds out the truth, and it leaves her heartbroken and feeling alone. All JB wants is to play in the NFL, but after being injured his future unknown. Summer and JB were so good for eachother. I loved seeing the other couples too. I’ve enjoyed every book in this series.
Summer had everything planned out, her future was what she wanted, until she gets told of the betrayal and find herself having to keep a secret to herself.
Things started to go wrong and Summer was surprised that she wanted the H there, he was with her every step of the way, making sure she wasn’t alone. As Wick Bay is when Nick let her know he heard she was at The Shack with JB she knew it wouldn’t be long before her brothers found out and knew that it wouldn’t go down well.
Everything seems like it’s falling apart around her, Summer doesn’t think and messages the H saying she needs him, not knowing what it is but when he arrives JB makes her pain feel less and makes her believe things will be ok again. Maverick comes into her room immediately telling JB to leave.
Summer is stronger and she isn’t going to let anyone tell her what to do, no one liked her seeing JB, but he was piecing her back together and she knew she was falling for him, her family thought JB was poisonous like his family, that he would complicate things while she healed.
Summer knew it was more than the chemistry between them, he was healing her piece by piece.
They know they can make it work even with their families hating each other, JB makes sure everyone knows that what he and Summer have is real and he’s not going anywhere.
Where do I even start with this book? I absolutely love the Wicked Bay series, I cannot get enough of them. I was so excited to get this book last week I immediately wanted to start reading but several of my friends told me I should definitely wait to read with what happens in the beginning. (This is only because of what I have going on in my personal life)
Summer, oh man did I feel her pain! At 3% in I was crying so hard. I’m sure the timing of this book is what made it so very emotional and heartbreaking. Maybe because Summer is the Stone-Prince baby it just made it that much worse that she was going through everything she was.
Wicked Promises is everything we expect from an LA Cotton book taken up a few notches. This book is packed full of everything angst, sadness, heartache, love, and some funny. I went through so many different emotions during this book I can’t even start to describe them.
And let’s talk about Summer’s new man! No way did I see that coming, I was beyond surprised when I found out who it was. But I’m so incredible happy both Summer and he got their happy. I think sometimes people are judged by things they shouldn’t be judged on. I think we should all be forgiven for the stupid things we did when we were 18 and in high school. I think Summer’s man is positively perfect for her. He steps up and is immediately what she needs without even trying. I think he is the biggest reason Summer is able to get over all her heartache.
I beyond words loved Wicked Promises! LA Cotton delivered a perfectly, amazing, heartachingly, beautiful story! If I could give more than 5 stars I would.
Five stars for Summer and JB !!!
This is the second book that I’ve read by L. A. Cotton and I have to say that I didn’t expect this. “Wicked Promises” had everything I want in one YA/NA book.
I really fall in love with her writing when I was reading “The Trouble With You” but this book is the whole another level.
I’m a little sad that I didn’t read this series from the beginning but after this book, I’ll read the whole series.
That’s my promise because… I’m really impressed.
Summer and JB are one of the favorite couples because who doesn’t love a forbidden love?!
Their relationship was forbidden but they proved to their families that no one and nothing will ever separate them.
If you have any doubt to read this book then just read it, because this book will show you I real-life situations which every teen can be going through and that no matter how old you are, you can always find your true love!
But no one says that will be easy!
I was so excited to read Summer’s story. She is such a sweetheart. This book started off with a WTH moment in the first chapter. There was so many twists, turns and angst that your emotions will be a wreck.
Another great book in the Wicked Bay Series. It was great to see Summer grow and develop and survive all she has been through.
Summer Stone-Prince is the baby sister to Maverick, Kyle and Macy. While her brothers and sister grew up being in the lime light Summer is content to be in the shadow. She’s smart, beautiful and has been dating Nick since they were fourteen. They just graduated from high school and will be heading to the same college. JB Holloway is a college quarterback and is taking physical therapy in Wicked Bay due to injury he sustained in a football game.
Summer is like any eighteen years old. She has a boyfriend and looks forward to college life. But what happens when everything suddenly goes wrong and nothing seem to go your way. Promises can be broken! I find that Summer is a very strong and determined young woman. While Summer tries to resolve her own issues she meets JB who is very caring and understanding. They become close friends but are aware that their family are enemies to each other.
I enjoyed books that I can relate to the characters and the situation that they going through. Once you start reading the Wicked Bay series you just can’t put it down.
I was completely thrown off with the twist. I did not see it coming at all but even then I really enjoyed the book.
Omg it’s so good to be back in Wicked Bay !! This story is every bit what I’ve come to love in this series and has plenty of surprises in store. I love that Summer found herself and had enough pride not to roll over and do what everyone thought she would !
JB we’ve met before.. the atypical football jock.. we came to see a completely different side of him in this. ‘Friend I can do’ and he was there for Summer when she most needed a friend. I loved him, I loved his charm, I loved his softer side, I loved that he held back from letting Summer pull him in when he could so easily have taken advantage. L.A. Cotton really has a way of making you fall in love with all her characters and of telling a story that has you keeping turning the pages til late into the night (or early into the morning!) Another fantastic 5 star read from L.A.
Wow this series keeps getting amazing. I just love this series as it will have you on the highs and lows. This is a amazing read that i had to read in onsetting and was having a book hangover that was needing more of everyone and their lifestyles. This story had me glued to my phone throughout the night and so loved how this story was written.
I have loved this series from LA Cotton and each book and couple in this series draws you in and holds you close. They are like family now.
This is Summer’s story and WOW oh WOW I never saw that coming!! I was completely hooked from the moment I started it and cursed my job when I had to stop reading and actually start adulting and go to work, thank god for lunch breaks!
Summer is nothing like her brothers and sister, shes sweet and lives in the shadows of her siblings, protected by them. Having watched her grow through the other books I was completely curious as to how her story was going to go and LA Cotton certainly did not disappoint me! She gave me a story I never saw coming and a couple I am absolutely in love with.
If you haven’t read this series then I would advise you to read the other books first, in order, otherwise it may spoil your enjoyment of each characters tales, the twists and turns that have you 100% hooked. The Stone-Prince family have so much drama, and angst you don’t want to miss out on its deliciousness.
Well done LA Cotton on another brilliant instalment in what has become one of my favourite NA series
„JB was piecing me back together. Smile by smile. Innocent touch by innocent touch.”
I’m beginning to think that I lived under the rock to this point. How could I not read this series is really beyond me… But I’m gonna rectify that asap, because Wicked Promises got me completely hooked and I feel a great need to read previous books in Wicked Bay series. Summer and JB’s story was PERFECTION. Emotional, a little bit angsty, heartwarming and so sweet! This book is a proof that even when fate puts in our path the least expected person, it may be exactly what we need in the moment and that completety chance encounter can change our life and bring us happiness.
Summer has her whole life planned out. She’s just about to head out to college with her long-time boyfriend and they’re comitted to start their life together. But one mistake shatters the whole plan and Summer is left alone and heartbroken. Trying to get a grip on her new reality, she bumps into JB- a guy, whose family is in the feud with hers. He showed up in the time when she needed someone to lean on and he helped her to heal. Despite the short amount of time they had together, strong feelings developed. But JB isn’t a guy that can promise her forever… isn’t he?
JB… *sigh*. I’m so smitten with this guy. He’s so caring, patient and protective. Mixed with the bad boy vibe he’s a perfect book boyfriend and falling in love with him is a sure thing. Although he was struggling with his own problems, he put Summer first. His devotion has no end and I just adore him!
I loved to see how Summer turned from shy girl surrounded by overprotective brothers to a young woman who started to stand up for herself. She’s a perfect example that you can find strenght in pain and where there’s despair, hope.
Wicked Promises is an amazing story about hope and new beginnings. L.A. Cotton breaks reader’s heart just to glue it together and fill it with incredible amount of love and delight. This book is completely captivating and I highly recommend it to everyone!
This series just keeps getting better!
“Little Stone-Prince” is all grown up and ready to head off to college with her childhood sweetheart Nick. That is, until he drops a bombshell and explodes their entire future! Now Summer is lost with no idea of what to do.
We’ve caught glimpses of Summer here and there in the previous Wicked Bay books. She was always the quiet one that everyone, especially her brothers, protected. After reading the synopsis, I knew this one was going to be heartbreaking. She and Nick had been together since they were 14 and now that has all blown up.
The way she grows and evolves in this book is amazing. She’s been through so much but she’s a really strong person. L.A. Cotton does such an amazing job with her characters. She definitely knows how to get into all the feels – anger, sadness, pain, healing, etc. I totally did not see her new “savior” coming… like the synopsis says – he was unexpected!
If you haven’t read the previous books, I would definitely recommend it. This IS a standalone and can be read by itself but you will LOVE the other books!
This is the 7th book in this phenomenal series, and can be read as a standalone, however, don’t miss out on the rest of the series, it is amazing!! Summer thought that her life was all planned out, until a devastating betrayal, and she finds out that she has an unexpected hero. This is a beautifully written story which is an emotional roller coaster journey throughout, as well as having angst, heartbreak, emotion, twists, and love. I was completely captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I cannot wait to read more form this gifted author, whose work I highly recommend for all.
