Oh my goodness. This book is perfection. Really, truly it’s just fantastic. It’s filled to the brim with confusing emotions and enough sexual tension to set panties across the country on fire. Penn and Cope are everything your lady dreams are made of, and then some.
I absolutely love this story. Simply stated, it’s different. The characters aren’t sure of much of anything because they’re realistically written. They struggle their way through the ups and downs of coming into age and falling in and out of love. They hate and they fight and they love harder than anyone. Their love is unique and beautiful. Their story is brilliant and full of so much passion.
I don’t think I can say it enough, this author knows how to write the most epically HOT stories. She’s a master at delivering books that you don’t expect to fall in love with, but that end up claiming pieces of you. This one is no different. It’s a blazing five star read that is sure to convert a lot of readers to a new trope. I want to be clear for all the iffy readers out there, in general… I don’t read M/M stories. It’s typically not my thing. However, we all know that this author takes extreme care and precision with every single title she releases so I knew this would be different. I was right, I fell hard and fast and my husband is going to be one VERY lucky man tonight. It’s amazing, give it a shot.
Unrequited love or is all just a lie? Penn and Cope were best friends turned enemies. A reconciliation that will send them into a very gray area. Emotions run strong in this new tantalizing story by K Webster. The odds are against Penn and Cope. Will they come out on top? Love, heartache, temptation, forbidden feelings and hidden truths are just a few things that are expressed in this book. This story grabs your attention and makes your heart melt. It’s about trust, loyalty, lust, beauty, honesty and everlasting love. Wicked Lies Boys Tell was beguiling and I adored every minute of it. If you enjoy m/m romance that shows a love so strong it can overcome anything then this is a must read.
Wicked Lies Boys Tell is an angst-filled, friends-to-enemies-to-lovers MM romance.
Penn and Cope are neighbors and best friends since childhood. One mistake ruined 16 years of friendship. It’s been two years as enemies until one night they’re back to being friends again. They struggle to leave the past behind. It’s not easy to do when Penn is still in love and Cope denies how he feels by keeping it a secret.
“He tastes like rain and friendship and memories and love. And I can’t get enough.”
OH MY MY…when these boys finally let their guard down and give into their feelings it’s explosive! RAWR!!! Holy hotness! Every stare, kiss, touch had me ON FIRE. I couldn’t get enough. I want to sandwich myself between them LOL. I loved it!
Wickedly delicious!
I’m not an expert in the genre of MM romance but I truly believe that love is love and if a story is well written then it’s well worth the read.
That’s exactly what I got with this read!!
This unique love story was much more than just an mm romance.
Brimming with passion, angst and holy hotness moments, I was captivated by the story from beginning to end.
Childhood friends who share similar family backgrounds encounter a terrible situation that breaks their friendship apart and turns them into enemies.
When they meet again, they’re forced to face their complex and complication situation.
Will they come to terms with accepting who they are and what they are?
Must read and find out!!!
This is a story filled with love, lies, and passion! The angst is off the charts with this one and it made me want to keep reading and keep reading because I couldn’t get enough. I absolutely these characters and the story they had to tell. The author did a fantastic job bringing out the emotion and passion that these two characters had for each other even when they were trying to deny it. This has been one of my favorite reads this year!
Wicked Lies Boys Tell by K. Webster is a deliciously tempting M/M contemporary romance read that will captivate and hooks you from the start.
Penn and Cope’s relationship changed from what it was as best friends who 2 years before shared a kiss that changed their relationship and made them enemies.
2 years later they are back in each other’s lives again…can these two patch up and admit what they feel for each other?
There is definitely outside interference causing problems but still…the lies and mistakes ,angst, heartache make this a great read…right along with the feels and steam and passion. Loved the writings of author K Webster- she writes emotions and wordy dirty quite well.
My Rating: 4.5 stars ******
Loved this MM story between Penn and Cope. These characters were so great together as they were best friends for years who fell apart when one night resulted in a kiss that made them enemies. After 2 years they are together again as friends, but this time the chemistry between them isn’t one sided and then the struggle is on to keep their relationship hidden from their horrible father’s.
My 1-Click author never disappoints.
The tenderness of this story had me awhing and sighing for most of the story.
This is a New Adult, Contemporary, MM inspirational coming of age read of two once friends fixing what broke them apart.
Realizations and deep seeded feelings, that once unrestrained and unleashed, take a life of their own.
K. Webster’s writing immerses us into being a part of their connected journey, of their overwhelming love as it takes root.
Love that transcends gender and friendship from infancy. From abusive fathers and ex’s. Two soles against all odds, against the world.
“Of the flesh, of the heart, of the soul.”
“I’m drowning in Penn McAlister”
Damn, all the scenes had my heart coming out of my chest in anticipation. As if I was the one expecting the touches, the licks, the all consuming love.
*Thank you for becoming a writer.
Penn and Cold own me….heart and soul!
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started this book. I got everything I wanted and more! Angst, heartache, all the feels plus some super hot sexy time.
Penn and Cope’s story is pure and raw and real. You can feel every emotion right along with them. A perfect story of struggling with who you are and coming to terms with those feelings.
I can’t say enough about this book. Thank you K for yet another beautiful love story.
Wicked Lies Boys Tell is K Webster’s new contemporary M/M romance! Anyone that follows me knows I am a HUGEEE K. Webster fan (#1FANGIRL) and although I’m not a HUGE fan of M/M romance, I am a fan of hers so I thought I would give Wicked Lies Boys Tell a chance. I mean seriously can K. Webster write anything bad ya’ll? OMG, you guys, I absolutely loved it! The heartache, the love, the fierce devotion to each other and their friendship, the angst OMGGGG! Webster is the fucking queen of angst and she delivers with Penn and Cope’s story!
Wicked Lies Boys Tell is about two teenage boys who have been best friends and next-door neighbors for sixteen years. These two boys, Penn and Cope have a friendship like no other, they are more brothers than friends. Both boys have a mutual hatred for their fathers who are awful, power/money jerks, Penn’s father may be worse but Cope’s is no peach either. But it doesn’t matter because the boys have each other.
But as they get older Penn develops feelings… confusing feelings towards his best friend Cope. Penn keeps his feelings a secret for a long time until one night, he acts on them.
Needless to say, Cope is less than thrilled which in turn starts a two-year discord between the once inseparable boys.
“I ruined us. Ruined sixteen years of friendship. We were neighbors who grew up like brothers. Our bond was unbreakable… until I broke it.”
The story starts AFTER the “unwanted” kiss. The boys haven’t spoken in two years, and both are miserable and trying to cope with the emptiness of not having the other in their lives anymore. They are good liars and anyone who doesn’t know them the way they know each other doesn’t see just how empty they are. But Cope and Penn can see the difference in each other.
Until one night when Penn needs help and Cope decides to step in and help him. Once they are around each other again both boys realize how much they miss one another and the friendship they once had and decide to figure out a way to handle and move on from Penn’s newfound feelings.
The problem is… ever since Penn kissed Cope, Cope has been having some thoughts and feelings of his own. And now that Cope is back in his life he’s having a hard time ignoring them.
“Penn lights me up. His smiles burn into me. Brilliant and bright.”
Can Cope & Penn regain the friendship they once had?
What happens if BOTH boys give in to their feelings?
What happens if their fathers find out?!
You’ll have to read Wicked Lies Boys Tell to find out!
“Maybe, even for only a few moments, he was right there with me. There was no gay or straight. No right or wrong. Just us. Penn and Cope.”
Ya’ll point me to some good young adult/new adult, M/M romances please because K. Webster has made me a fan! The steam you guys… OH MY, OH MY, OH MY!!! There were a few touch and go moments that I thought I was going to break something, Kindle included LOL but luckily my Kindle made it out alive and crack free! These characters, the plot, I devoured this book!
Penn McAlister, the boy everyone loves and admires. The star athlete. The good boy. There is so much pressure on Penn to be the guy everyone thinks he is that he feels like he can’t really be HIM. My heart broke for Penn while he watched his best friend and the guy he’s in love with, hate him from afar.
Copeland Justice A.K.A Cope is the ignored son, the broody tattooed rebel, the wild one. Cope’s pain was different from Penn’s but painful all the same. Cope feels betrayed by Penn, and that betrayal crushed him. Cope deals with the pain by shutting himself off from feelings completely. He wants to hate Penn but not having his best friend is hard and once they become friends again being around Penn leaves him more confused than ever.
The sexual tension between the two is unmistakable. The chemistry, the sexy heated looks, the anticipation, GAHHHH! SMOKIN’ HOT YA’LL! I loved the “practicing” they did. I couldn’t help but LOL at what they were both so blind to see. Even reading the flashbacks, I think there was ALWAYS something different about their relationship and feelings towards each other but they were both too young to understand that their relationship was different from most boys. Watching them FINALLY come together, EXPLOSIVE and HOT!
“Even two years spent apart, that connection I’d thought was severed continued to exist, linking us even when I thought we’d long been cut apart.”
The secondary characters, I adored Leah. Sticking up for the guys, and being totally on board with their relationship without a second thought, she was a really good friend to them BOTH. Ivy, UGH! I hated her. I could understand her at first, after two years and your boyfriend up and leaves you, yea that hurts. BUT, she knew. There’s no way she didn’t know that Cope didn’t feel the same intensity towards her as she did him. The lying, that was what ruined her character for me.
From friends to enemies, to friends, to lovers, you couldn’t help but root for them while watching Penn and Cope’s emotional journey through adolescence and coming to terms with their sexuality. Their story is all wrapped up in a happily ever after. That ending could not have been any better. Gahh I love Cope and Penn!
“We’re Penn and Cope,” I tell him, with a peck to his lips. “Best fucking friends. Like always. Two tornadoes. But instead of bouncing off each other and wreaking havoc alongside the other, we’ve become one. Unstoppable.”
This is a MUST READ! If you are a fan of the genre then THIS IS THE ONE FOR YOU! But even if you are new to M/M as I was, this is the PERFECT introductory to M/M! K. Webster did an astounding job and I HIGHLY recommend Wicked Lies Boys Tell!
I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book.
K Webster has hit it out of the park again. She’s written a book that is just so packed full of emotion and passion that it’s impossible to put down, and even more difficult to get over. Penn and Copeland are complex characters with so much going on that trying to predict what they are going to do isn’t easy.
Penn and Copeland were life long friends right up until one fatal mistake, which led to 2 years of Cope hating Penn and Penn hating himself. Then all of a sudden, things change.
I understand Cope being unhappy about what happened and being really mad at Penn, because I’m sure that it felt weird to him. I also totally get his impulse to cut contact, but, well, I dunno, I would think that as good friends, that maybe he might’ve given Penn a chance to explain or something.
The connection between the two of them though, it’s electric and all consuming. You really just can’t get rid of it, not that I would really want to. There’s just so passion and love and emotion and history there between them that it’s hard to breathe around it sometimes, but totally in a good way.
Wicked Lies Boys Tell was a deliciously steamy, angsty, emotional and mesmerizing slowburn that had me hanging on every word until the last page. Cope and Penn’s journey was real, honest, and heartfelt. I loved the dual point of view and getting a glimpse into each of these incredibly complex and unforgettable characters. When I started this book I wasn’t expecting to be blown away by these amazing characters but their story held me riveted. My heart squeezed, I teared up, I ranted and raged, wanted to repeatedly hit certain people and swooned like crazy all while reading this book and loved every moment of it. If you love angsty and captivating slowburns that will play with your emotions yet leave you with a smile then do yourself a favor and discover what Wicked Lies Boys Tell.
Wicked Lies Boys Tells was unputdownable. I loved every single minute of Penn and Cope’s relationship. There were lows within their relationship but the highs… Well damn… the highs were out of sight. I loved how the author gave of a us against the world type of vibe to the characters. They loved and didn’t care who was watching. Their love wasn’t easy. It was a struggle from beginning to last.
There were so many good quotes throughout the book. I was smiling one minute and yelling the next. A few of my favorites:
“There was no gay or straight. No right or wrong. Just us. Penn and Cope.”
“We’re Penn and Cope. Best fucking friends. Like always. Two tornadoes. But instead of bouncing off each other and wreaking havoc alongside the other, we’ve become one. Unstoppable.”
Damn… I want more m/m romance by this author. It was done beautifully. The story flowed and Penn and Cope found each other along the way.
This book was freaking amazing. Its has so much anguish and heartaches. This 2 boys who shared everything and had a moment of misunderstanding. I got to see them fight to get back what they have with each other and in the mist of it all they found what they need. No spoilers here I definitely can’t wait to see what k Webster rights nexts.
Penn and Cope are mmmmmmmmmmm…delicious! This story grabbed me by the feels and hugged me so tight! I loved Penn and his ability to know who his heart wanted. The friendship between Cope and Penn growing up was so touching…being there for each especially when the other had a moment of weakness. Cope was a little lost and broken and I felt like he was just hiding. But oh when these two renew their friendship…just watch out! I really loved the emotions that ran through me and how they really tried to support one another. The loyalty and trust were strong and center…among the loving friendship. LOVED LOVED LOVED this book!
I’m a huge fan of MM romance and Webster sure knows how to write them.
Cope and Penn were best friends for years and one day Penn kissed Cope as he couldn’t contain his love for him anymore and Cope pushes him away. Two years later and they still aren’t talking, until Cope comes to his rescue at a party where Penn got into a fight. This reunion reunited them and brings them close again.
Penn still has so much love for Cope but won’t jeopardise their friendship now that they are friends again and both agree that there will be no more kissing. The more time they spend together Cope starts to realise that his feelings may not be for friendship anymore and slowly starts become more protective and opens his heart for Penn.
MM fans will love this romance. There is low drama, with an interesting storyline – arranged marriage and abusive parents that kept me hooked. I devoured this needing more and more scenes with the pair and boy does Webster sure knows how to write hot sex scenes that will leave you panting for more.
I loved the burning sexual tension between them. They were two souls who needed to be together. I loved that they were friends and had a great friendship, they knew everything about each other, had each other’s backs and cared deeply about one and other.
Another awesome read from Webster that shows the power of true love and a romance that gave me all the feels. Get one clicking today!

Wicked Lies Boys Tell is a K Webster book and that implies it is a must read for me. Now this story was MIND.FREAKING.BLOWN variety again but it was so different. You know she doesn’t do anything “normally” in her books but this book was something else. First of all this cover is stunning ! I don’t know how I stopped staring and start reading but this story is so beautifully written. Twisted, tragic and angsty new adult /high school romance with a touch of bullying and best friends-to-enemies-to-lovers romance. It is not simply MM romance. This is about self exploration, self discovery, facing pain and reality head on and of course about loyalty and friendship! It was erotic, emotional and a complete package with the brilliance of K.Webster. I lost myself totally in the pages. Penn and Cope are AMAZING and unforgettable characters.
Penn always wanted his best friend who is more like a brother and a soulmate. But one single kiss ruined everything and both are now dark emptiness. But an unfortunate incident in a party throws Copeland in his orbit again. And now they feel alive and whole. But their relationship is rocky at best. Rich privileged controlling parents with issues deeper than sea. The young confused, vulnerable and passionate hearts. The friends and school and every freaking body’s expectations and society’s threats. And two friends learning about and exploring their identifies and cravings. K. Webster spinned a complex and captivating story with layers after layers. And each was more intense and powerful than the last one.
Pick up Wicked Lies Boys Tell by K.Webster if you want a journey of a lifetime. Penn and Cope will inspire me for a long time. It was a story of undying loyalty to friend. It was a story of fierce devotion to the true love even if it is forbidden by so called society. This sexy and heartfelt love story is another prime example of K. Webster’s perfect writing.

Ah I have been waiting for this books for ages! At least it felt like it! Let me tell you something, it was worth the wait!!
This book is about Penn McAlister and Copeland Justice, their unique relationship, how they come to term to accept who they truly are. The journeys were not easy. Lots of heartache, denying, fighting, but I’m glad we have a HEA.
K Webster have a way of making you feel for the characters. Their emotions are so raw that you can feel it in your bones. This is another excellent masterpiece by author. I hope to read more of her solo books soon.
For all the tacos and guacamoli in the world, you better read this book or else! Cause dangit Penn and Cope…. Their story is so much more than a guy meet a guy and got a hard on.
It was love. As simple as that.
“We’re Penn and Cope,”I tell him, with a peck to his lips. “Best fucking friends. Like always. Two tornadoes. But instead of bouncing off each other and wreaking havoc alongside the other, we’ve become one. Unstoppable.”
This right there! In the end, what ever their genitals looks, what ever their preference… It’s right there in that line is love!
Sorry for my frence, but if you can’t handle two sword going at it, then don’t touch this book just to give bad review.
Open your heart, cause love do come in so many ways and form.
