Liars.
Every last one of them.
The kings and queens of my new high school.
The father and stepmother I never knew.
Each has more wealth and privilege than I could’ve ever imagined.
Each has a pile of wicked dirty secrets they’d do anything to protect.
These people have grown accustomed to getting what they want and what they want is to make my life a living hell.
Too bad for them, you … life a living hell.
Too bad for them, you can’t break someone who’s already broken.
Too bad for them, I won’t give up without a fight.
Too bad for them, I’m going to make them pay…even if it’s the last thing I do.
*Wicked Liars is the first book in the Windsor Academy series. This is a dark high school bully romance that may contain triggers for sensitive readers. Due to mature subject matter, it is recommended for readers 18+ only.

Oh my God! What did I just read? I’m here trying to process everything that happened in the book while listening to the book’s Spotify playlist. I won’t be over it anytime soon and the next book is coming out this summer Okay so here are my thoughts!
Jazz is shipped to her father after her mom’s passing. A girl from the poor side of the city is thrusted into the world of the wealthy. However, with money comes secrets and she’s about to realize that. Her new “family” is nothing but pretentious. Her father is a misogynistic asshole, her stepmother is full of fake smiles and her stepsister is a bitch from day one. In all of that she has to deal with the Royals of Windsor Academy as well; Kingston, Bentley and Reed.
Kingston had a plan in the works for some time. The newfound Callahan daughter is nothing but an obstacle for him. That’s it until they come face to face and boom instant attraction! Jazz is not one to bow down easily and she makes that known from the start. She fights back with everything she has. Bentley is the jokester of the three, flirting with Jazz mainly to mess with Kingston. In all this hostility, Jazz finds a friend in Ainsley, Kingston’s twin sister.
I was consumed by the story from the prologue. Trust me if you read it, you’ll understand why. I devoured each chapter waiting to see how Jazz ended up like she does. The secrets unveiled were shocking and left me with more questions than answers. I went into this book knowing that it ends with a cliffhanger; what can I say I love torturing myself
Laura Lee has written a really good bully romance. She definitely won me over with this book! Don’t mind me, I’ll be eagerly waiting for the next book to release…!
This is the 1st in a new series and what a fantastic beginning this story is. This is a dark high school bully romance story which is not for the feint-at-heart, and does contain triggers for some readers, so be aware! This is a well written flawless dark story which is filled with secrets, betrayal, deception, enemies/lovers, sizzling chemistry, and with complex characters and plot. I cannot wait to read the next book in this fascinating series and recommend for all.
I have recently discovered Laura Lee and have devoured 2 of her Rom Com’s. When I saw Wicked Liars and that is was the total opposite of what I have already read, I was excited to see how her writing skills adapted. I can say I was not disappointed, this book was SO good!
The Windsor Academy world is so much more complex than I expected, their is a deeper sub plot running through the story that peaked my interest and I have so many questions about what the hell is going on! There is a darker underworld at play full of rich, manipulative, maniacal males, making power plays that have spanned decades. The main Characters are the children of these powerful families and unbeknown to most of them, they are all just simply pawns in a much bigger game.
The Hero Kingston and his friends Bentley and Reed are trying to play the game in their own way and when the heroine Jazz comes into the mix things get more complicated than any of them expected. Kingston is a huge AlphaHole and I loved his brooding attitude. He emits power and sexuality but has another side to him, he is smart and calculated but there is a softer edge there under his possessiveness towards Jazz. Bentley is a charmer and his wit and banter made me smile on so many occasions, the way he would dance on Kingston’s last nerve was brilliant. Royce is more of the strong silent type but I am definitely eager to learn more about him.
Jazz is a great heroine she is strong, confident in herself, she has been through a lot recently and her world has changed in a huge way. A young woman who won’t let anyone change who she is, with a strong sense of self I respect her, she keeps standing up every time she is pushed down. When she is enrolled in Windsor Academy Jazz is pushed down a lot; but her tenacity was inspiring!
Wicked Liars was full of all the elements I love in a bully romance, its darker themes and undertones played to my delinquent side, with sizzling chemistry and all the enemies to lovers vibes! Paired with a great set of characters, fantastic writing and pacing from Laura and you have a recipe for success. Yes there was a cliffy and yes I am begging for book two; but that’s why I love the torture of cliffhangers because they leave me all the more excited for book 2.
Insert fangirl scream here! I just finished reading the latest book by Laura Lee, Wicked Liars, and dear lawd was it something else. Book one of the Windsor Academy was an over the top bully romance, lite on the romance part. Lee added a few new twists to the average elite high school bullying story, and it was a little mind blowing. There is an underlying story other than poor girl comes to rich school, that would be to common and this book is anything but common. There are characters you will want to hate and the ones you want to love…. just can’t seem to catch a break. Laura Lee wrote some characters that you just hope turn out to be good guys and some you hope just meet Madame Karma, because they deserve payback. I can NOT wait for the next book in the series Ruthless Kings due out this summer. This is the first book by Laura Lee that I have read, and I was impressed with her writing style and the ability to just pull me in and keep be entranced, I read this book in one setting. 5-stars for Wicked Liars by Laura Lee
Jasmine (Jazz) Rivera has been dumped on her father’s doorstep, a father she knew nothing about till the death of her mother. Jazz’s father is rich and connected and believes image is everything and so does his wife and daughter. Jazz gets off to a rocky start not only at home but at school too and it looks like it will be a long school year till she graduates. Jazz has been warned away from Kingston Davenport, not only by her stepsister but by Kingston himself. Jazz and Kingston have chemistry that is off the charts, but she is not an elite and everyone is willing to make her life hell, just because the royals want it that way. Wicked Liars surround Jazz at every turn, and she is running out of people to trust and things are really starting to get dangerous, Jazz just doesn’t know it yet.
Yes so I’m going to need book 2 like right now.
Jazz is just one of my favorite type of bad*ss heroines and Kingston
The twists, the turns, I was hooked and I NEED answers!!! So so so so good
Wicked Liars Is a fantastic start to a new addicting series. I was so intrigued from the very start. Id you love secrets, lies, back stabbing and one very strong female lead then you are just going to devour Wicked Liars just like I did. You will get sucked in by Jazz and all the secrets and lies that she is surrounded with. I really loved Jazzes feistiness and the way she doesn’t put up with crap from anyone. Kingston is just someone that grows on you. He is the King of the Windsor Academy and the chemistry he has with Jazz is so hot. I couldn’t get enough of this one. I really cannot wait to see where Laura Lee takes this Windsor Academy series. I want more Jazz and Kingston like now. Go one click this one now.
Jeez…. I needed a minute after finishing that to collect myself. I knew it was coming but I didn’t expect to feel so torn up about it.
This book is completely different to anything Laura Lee has written before but good lord it was fabulous.
The chemistry between Jazz and King Douche is undeniable. It is hot, hard and freaking amazing.
There is a lot going on in this book. But rather than being too distracting from the main storyline it adds intrigue, mystery and danger.
Is Kingston the King Douche he appears to be? Will we find out what happens to Jazz early in the next instalment?
I can’t wait to read the next book!
Wow…just wow. I’m having trouble reconciling the fact that the same author who wrote one of the funniest books I’ve ever read (Deal Takers), also wrote Wicked Liars. This book is so deliciously dark and twisty. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough.
Wicked Liars is not your standard high school bully romance. There’s an underlying plot that gives it its dark edge and makes the story that much more intriguing. Jazz, the heroine, is strong and feisty. Kingston is the a-hole hero you hate to love. The supporting characters have depth. Just when you think you have everything figured out, the author throws that out the window and you’re back to square one. The ending was a complete mind f*ck. I can’t wait to see what happens next. I already pre-ordered book 2.
I am grateful to have received an advanced copy with no expectations from the author.
Thank you Give Me Books for a complimentary copy. I voluntarily reviewed this book. All opinions expressed are my own.
Wicked Liars
Windsor Academy #1
By: Laura Lee
REVIEW
Imagine, your mom dies, so you must now live with the father you’ve never met and a step family. Welcome to Jazz’s life. She soon realizes her father is a rich powerful man, but this will not change her. Jazz begins school at Windsor Academy, for rich kids, and it’s apparent that she is going to have a hard time thanks to the kings of the school and their mean girlfriends. One of the kings, Kingston, has plans of his own, and Jazz is an obstacle. When bullying doesn’t work, he decides to kill her with kindness. Jazz slowly starts to believe that Kingston might have genuine feelings for her, much to the chagrin of the others rich kids. Does Kingston care for Jazz, or is he playing her so his plans go unchecked? If you want to know, read Wicked Liars for yourself. And, the ending is……
Beginning of an exciting trilogy!
I’m writing this review after I’ve read the whole trilogy of Jazz’s story.
I’m a huge fan of Laura Lee and have read all of her other books. This is important because the trust I have in this author to deliver a good book was the sole reason I continued to read Wicked Liars. About 30% into Wicked Liars the main character, Jazz, goes to a party and I thought I had no triggers, but I guess I was wrong because I was so worried about what was happening to her I was becoming ill. Being a fan of Laura Lee I decided to trust in her to deliver and deliver she did. Soon after the disturbing event I was relieved to find that the trust was not misplaced. What followed was an engaging story with secrets and mysteries that would all be resolved by the end of the trilogy. The author does a terrific job building not only the female main character and the male main character but also the close knit group in which they are involved. I highly recommend Wicked Liars which ends in a breathtaking cliffhanger. I also highly recommend the rest of the Windsor Academy trilogy. Very exciting!
If I could only use one word to describe this book it would be intense. This book will suck you in from the very beginning.
I absolutely loved Jazz. She is a character designed for girls. She is such a strong young woman with a desire to do whatever she can to take care of her younger sister. She knows who she is and isn’t afraid to be herself.
Kingston is a guy on a mission. He is a character you will want to like, but also question regularly. The chemistry between him and Jazz is undeniable.
This was a great read. I can’t wait to read the next book.
Oh my word did I love this book! The drama, the mystery, the suspense, the romance, I’m here for it. Give me more.
That cliffhanger snuck up on me, and thankfully I had the second book on hand.
Gosh why did I wait till enternity to read this book?
This book is the ultimate bully romance. Real ultimate one. Because I am in love with Jazz and Kingston too much!
This book has literally mind boggled me. I can’t stop thinking about it. My crazy mind aside, the story is amazing. It started with Jazz, our main character losing her mom and she going to say with her long lost but in no way good father and stepmom. All kinds of shady things happen around her but the main thing that happens is she is admitted to Windsor Academy where she meets the King of the school- Kingston. The students bully her on orders of him but our heroine takes it pretty beautifully and gives back tenfold.
Ofcourse Kingston and Jazz lust and have some kindle melting drool dripping hot as lava steamy smex and smexy times. Oh God….again thinking about that. But that cliffhanger…..now that was brutal.
The story setup is amazing. It started in a different way which took my attention and hooked me to the book. A true page turner this one. Said in dual pov. The character build up is amazing. Jazz is a true badass, doesn’t care about pompous people and their prissy ways and Kingston is a true definition of wicked and bad with a clever mind and handsome hot bod.
The bullying part is not brutal. No cheating. Story backdrop is also suitable and world builup is great. All in all, a true 6 star book.
If you want to read a non cliche bully romance with a sassy heroine, droolworthy Hero, shady going ons and a cruel society with prissy people…this is one is it.
6 stars.
Lies, Secrets, Mystery, Suspense, Romance. Wicked Liars had me hooked from the prologue. Once I started reading I couldn’t put it down and completely devoured this book!
Jazz is thrust into a life she never wanted and away from the only family she has ever known. Kingston is one of the Kings of Windsor Academy and the moment he lays eyes on her all bets are off. What he doesn’t expect is for Jazz to fight back and push all his buttons.
There is an instant connection between Jazz and Kingston, even though they both fight each other. Kingston is a bully, but he also has his reasons for wanting to push Jazz away. However, there are times were a different side of Kingston comes through and it’s a side that not many people get to see.
I loved that there is tons of suspense and mystery mixed into this story. That kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time and I found myself constantly trying to guess where things were going to and what was going to happen next.
This is book 1 of 3, so it does end on a pretty big cliffhanger.
If you’re looking for a dark, bully romance this is one to check out.
I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. I read the blurb and was intrigued but it was teens and I usually don’t enjoy the teenagers in the books in adult situations. It is definitely a dark story.
These mean girls remind me of my high school so enjoyed having those flashbacks while reading this;) there is so much going on. And honestly none of it is good stuff either. There are definitely mature situations violence, rape, sex, drugs and alcohol with teens. It was hard to read at times due to some of the situations but I pressed on cause I could NOT put down. The love hate relationship Jazz and Kingston have is drama personified. I would recommend this book and can’t wait to read the next ones in the series
Jazz is supposed to be a hardened but pretty sister from the other side of the tracks whose father brings her into high society. Supposedly. I do like her vulnerability, but I expected her to fight better. I expected her to make good decisions. She doesn’t. The first party she drinks something spiked. The next party she walks drunkenly with a friend into the woods expecting her *hot* almost boyfriend to meet her after midnight?
Well, there are hints the alcohol has affected her judgement, so I can understand. But still…
Kingston is hot. We get to read about his motivations, but I really like his interest in digging up the dirt on their parents, and I wonder why Jazz doesn’t do the most basic research on him and his friends. She studies in a library, duh. Kingston is primed to take a part in his father’s company, but we don’t know what he really wants to do after graduation.
Their friends are just as interesting, but Jazz’s dad is complicated. I found him fascinating to explore. He is cold. He might or might not be attracted to underaged women. He is misogenist. Yet he legitimizes his daughter, asks Kingston to tame her (hopefully as a socialite), and treats her as a daughter. I keep wondering if he is actually not the cruel and depraved person, but maybe Melissa, his wife, is? I get the impression she is pretending to cow to his demands.
There are so many questions left, I might download the next one. But the twist at the end left me depressed.
Warnings:
* Potential Rape or almost Rape
* Murder
* You won’t be able to put it down. Expect lost, tortured sleep.
* Definitely NOT Young Adult
I think a contemporary romance must have an exotic setting and powerful characters. You will get both, and a twisted plot. Don’t read this if you are depressed.
This was my second time reading Laura Lee and ooh chile, I practically flew through this book! It’s a dark bully romance, but with a couple of added elements I wasn’t expecting (that whole shady dealings with the fathers and their…..side hustle lol). It might have seemed out of place in the story, but there actually is a good reason why it’s included because it does bring more depth and mystery to the story overall. We get to meet quite a few characters, but each of them helped to round out the story, and dammit I was prepared for a cliffhanger but not that one!
I’ll start off by saying that this is the first book I’ve ever read by Laura Lee, and I was definitely not disappointed! This is such an amazing story, and I’m so impressed by Laura’s writing style, and just the way she tells the story! It ended so good, I’m going straight into Ruthless Kings! This one is definitely recommended!
Wicked good! I love a good bully romance and this one had me sucked in from page one! I love Jazz and her take no sh*t attitude! She is so not afraid to put people in their place. The twists and turns coupled with the crazy hot chemistry will leave you wanting more! It ends in a crazy cliffy so be prepared to dive into book two, Ruthless Kings, immediately.
Not gonna lie, this was a DNF for me.
This being a book that takes place in high school made me think it would be something different than it turned out to be. I saw the warning suggesting that the content could contain triggers for readers, so perhaps it was my mistake thinking that I could handle it knowing it was fiction. Generally, this kind of content does not bother me but for some reason, I just couldn’t keep reading.
It reminded me a little of Netflix’s Riverdale. When I first heard they were making a TV series I assumed it would be like the Archie comics from my childhood. Instead, it is significantly darker and I’m shocked at how many teens are into the show. It also has a Gossip Girl twist in that Jasmine is the newcomer to the world of the rich and privileged.
Similarly to Riverdale, Wicked Liars by Laura Lee opens with a tragedy and Jasmine’s life never seems to get better. Perhaps, this was the wrong time in the world for me to read this book, but activities, like drugging, sexually assaulting, rape, and filming sexual acts without consent, are never going to be in my line of interest.
