Nowhere is safe when the gods are wicked.Since the beginning of times, there has always been two sides: Norms and Idols. But never have the scales been so unbalanced as they are today.I’m a Norm, which means, I grew up in fear of the Idols and their godly powers. And now, I’m going to be surrounded by them, day and night. I’ve been offered a place at the prestigious Gifted Academy, an opportunity … prestigious Gifted Academy, an opportunity very few Norms get.
To survive, I must become invisible. But my hope to get through the academy unscathed goes down the drain when the most powerful boys in school set their eyes on me.
They hate me simply because I’m a Norm. If they knew who I truly am, they’d tear me apart limb by limb. But I’m done cowering away from Idols. It’s time for the Norms to fight back, and it all starts with me.

Loved this!!
This book is action packed and full of twists and turns! Theres so much going on that you want to devour it but also savour it at the same time. Daisy and the Idol boys are interesting and exciting. There’s so many questions I have and can’t wait to find out some answers!!
Already downloaded the next book and can’t wait to jump straight back in!
Absolutely wonderful book with an original take on the “bully” themed romance novel. I loved it. 5 stars.
I really enjoyed this action packed, emotionally thrilling and engaging adventure filled with interesting charters, witty banter and struggle for survival against the magical odds…. Was a great read!
Wow, this bully romance certainly kicked some serious butt. I couldn’t put the book down. It hat me sitting on the edge of my set with bouncing knee.
I can’t believe I have to wait until October for book two. Bookhangover, here I come.
I had been intrigued and hooked from just the blurb alone and was so excited to read this one. Paranormal romances are my favorite type plus adding that its a bully and rh is just the cherry on top for me! I love how fierce and strong she is and wont let the Idols especially the for 4 guys who try to knock her down, stop her from being at the academy in hopes of having a better life for her and her sister. Those two have been through a lot and my heart went out to them! Amazing story that will keep you on the edge on your seat and turning to page to find out whats happening next. Can not wait for the next book!
This is an awesome read. It grabbed me from the first page to the last. And a real page turner. Its got humor as well. The Author has done a awesome job at world building as well as bringing out the Characters to where you see the emotions, and personality. I definitely recommend this read.
Shauna Joesten
Michelle Hercules, where in the heck have you been all of my life?!
This book was everything that I could ask for in an amazing book:
An Awesome and Fierce Leading Lady
A Little Broken but Super Hot Main Man (Actually we have 4 that fit this- RH at it’s finest)
Strong Story Line and Plot that flows Organically
Humor
Angst and Sexual Tension
A Powerful Paranormal Story Set Up
Daisy has seen a lot of things in her short norm life. She gets the chance of a lifetime to enroll in the Gifted Academy, which not a lot of norms get, ever. This is terrifying but also a great chance to allow her sister a better life. She knew that there would be ridicule, but when the strongest and hottest idols in the school can’t seem to get her off their mind, they try any means possible to do so and it is not pretty. There is also something fishy going on at the school and people are being injured, who is causing all of this?!
All in all, I am so freaking excited to read this entire series. We are given POVs from Daisy and the 4 idols and get to know everyone better and uncover hidden motives. I cannot wait for the second one especially with how this one ended– I need to know what happens! Great story Michelle Hercules, I will be following this series closely! <3
PS: Thank you to Social Butterfly PR and Michelle Hercules for allowing me an ARC of the book to read and review it honestly!
OMG…what a fantastic story. Wicked Gods was a brilliant, captivating, engrossing story that had me consumed from beginning to end. I could not put it down.
This was Paranormal bully romance at it finest. The story had it all: a strong fierce leading lady, 4 super hot but slightly broken leading men, great paranormal world-building, slow burn steam and tension and a storyline that was extremerly well-crafted and layered. Yes this was more that just a bully romance, as there’s so much more going on that we are not aware of as yet.
This was my first Michelle Hercules novel and I was not disappointed. I loved her style of writing, and how she captured my interest, I loved how she created characters you would fall in love with, I loved that she had me at at the edge of my seat with all the twists and turns, and I loved that I could not predict what was going to happen from one moment to the next.
I finished this novel yesterday and I can’t get it out of my mind. That ending has me anxiously awaiting the next book as I need more of these characters. Wicked Gods was a phenomenal read and definitely worthy of a 5 star status. I loved it and I would highly recommend it to all lovers of Paranormal romance and Bully romance.
Well dang! I really didn’t want to put this down once I started reading. This is a great Enemies to Lovers story. There is bullying and other things that could trigger people so be warned if that’s you. This book has magic, gods, school setting, a division of people and emotions. You get so many emotions from this book. I really enjoyed that this book goes from all 5 different perspectives. I really want the next book now. I want to see what happens next.
*I received a free copy of this book via the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.*
Once again a friend recommended a book that has me binge reading a series. This one is complete so a binge read is in order.
Daisy has been taking care of her sister Rose since they fled the night their parents were killed by Idols. She’s been working at Poppy’s Joint a diner in the Norm area of the city. She was looking forward to some good tips since her sister’s broken arm had put them behind in the rent. Instead of lots of tips from the busy crowd, she ends up with a table of teenaged Idols, rich boys intent on causing havoc.
An accidental pie in the face causes an uproar, customers and waitresses Daisy and her friend Felicity flee. Daisy can’t go home without the rent, so she stays with Felicity but she has a plan that includes sneaking out. She’s going to try to get a job at Unearthly Desires, a strip club. It’s the only way to come up with the money she needs.
What happens next is truly surprising as instead of actually finishing her time on stage she ends up pulled and offered a scholarship to the elite Gifted Academy. The school is exclusive and attended by high ranking Idols and Fringes.
With the added perk of an allowance Daisy joins the ranks, intending on keeping a low profile. She’s also assigned a guide Toby, introduced as a low level Fringe. Unfortunately Daisy seems to be a trouble magnet with her snark.
The same boys who caused the trouble in Poppy’s Joint attend this school and in an awkward twist of fate, her room is next door to them.
Bryce seems to be more friendly than the others, and offers a compromise when she asks for music to be turned down, noise cancelling headphones for the win. The other guys seem to be intent on causing her all kinds of headaches and embarrassments.
Most of the Idols pretty much want her gone, but Drusilla and her crew, Renata and Cherise are really over the top with that.
There’s a lot going on with the guys as well as we get glimpses of their pasts. Of course Principal Fallon is Bryce and Rufio’s mother so that’s a real interesting situation.
There also appears to be several different factions of Idols. Those who want to take over, those who want a peaceful existance and the Knights who try to thwart the evil being done by the takeover guys.
I loved this book, with all the twists and turns on top of the guys starting to protect Daisy. There’s definitely the start of a relationship there, especially with Bryce.
There’s a cliffhanger, OMG ending which is why I’m very glad I can just jump into the next book.
A story that will suck you in! Daisy’s journey is one of a survivor. Her interactions with the four Idols keeps the reader on his/her toes. Usually, I have some idea where the plot is leading, but this time, I can honestly say: I have no clue. Michelle created characters that are relatable in their own ways. I was a little hesitant to have five POVs in the book (Past books I’ve read with more than three POV’s became hard to follow), but I can say it was written perfectly. The POVs switched in the right places and provided the reader with the necessary insight to all the characters. I can’t wait for the second book in the series to find out more about Daisy and what her true relationship to the Idols is.
At first I didn’t realize it’s RH, but as I appreciate Michelle ‘s writing a lot, I gave her a chance – lol. All the events that lead Daisy to the academy and her stay there are fully eventful, a time to acquaintance and discovery, brightly written. And that cliffhanger…only makes me want to dive directly to the next volume.
What an intense introduction into this series. The concept of Idols, Fringes and Norms is something that seems so archaic but also so very relevant to this day and age as well. Daisy is a Norm that gets into the Gifted Academy by chance. What starts as her fighting to survive turns into something so much more. You can tell the connection between her, Bryce, Rufio, Phoenix and Morpheus something so intense that they have no clue what is happening. While the boys try to make her time at the academy hellish, she fights back so hard that they are impressed with her. It is intense and raw! And that ending!
4 stars for Wicked Gods by Michelle Hercules. This is book one in the Gifted Academy series. This is a paranormal reverse harem bully romance. I enjoyed every minute of this book. Daisy is a norm and norms are at the bottom in society among Idols and Fringe. She saw her parents murdered when she was only 10 years old and has been on her own , and raising her young sister since. I love Daisy’s character. She is strong, has a backbone, and stands up for herself against anyone even the Idols. When she meets Rufio, Bryce, Phoenix, and Morpheus it doesn’t go very well. Instantly she has a target on her back. She gets a scholarship to Gifted Academy , where there are only a couple norms. This is her best choice at making a better life for her and her sister. But that means she will be at school with idols who descended from gods. They are powerful and hate norms. Rufio, Morpheus,Bryce, and Phoenix set out to make Daisy’s life hell at the Academy. What they don’t expect is for Daisy to not give in. She is stronger than they think. I am intrigued by the world that Michelle Hercules has created. I am loving all the characters and learning about their abilities and everything. The storyline had me captivated, I could not put the book down. Rufio, Bryce, Phoenix, Morpheus, and Daisy have a strong chemistry. It jumps off the pages at you. The banter and witty comments make it that much better. I love that there is also this level of suspense , it makes it that much more intriguing. I am starting book two now.
“Bryce,” I whisper.
“Yes, Daisy?” He fuses his lips with mine again.
I don’t reply for a moment, too wrapped up in the feel of his tongue against mine, in the touch of his hands on my body. He pulls back slightly and waits for me to continue, watching me with eyes that are brighter than before, the color akin to molten gold.
“I don’t know what I was going to say.”
So good! Brilliant characters, with just enough of glimpse of who they are, and making me crave for more because of it. Full of wickedness, suspense, and sass.
I’m a huge fan of a strong willed female that takes charge of any situation, and this book is all about that.
Can’t wait to read more.
Story line, concept and characters were just amazing! Once I got started I didnt want to stop until the end. This was a great beginning to a new series and I cant wait for the next one!
There was hope, the future could of been brighter, but then it all came crashing down as the good and the bad clashed in their home.
7 years of struggling, and then an opportunity comes knocking. One that will aid her job of protecting her sister and trying to improve their lives.
The Idols rule the academy, the fringes are semi accepted and the norms are hated that’s fact not fiction it’s just the way things are.
Shes a norm who’s in their world now. Who is friend and who is foe, what are their ulterior motives. Is there anyone she can trust…?
Magic and mayhem, pain and anguish all dance around each other to create an amazing story that will steal hours from you unnoticed.
Four boys, one girl. Different factions with so much hatred and animosity. Tension and destruction fills the air along with malice and distrust.
I freaking loved the storyline. From the bullying to the secret shared moments each appealed greatly to me.
The characters at the start confused me. I couldnt differentiate between the four boys and it took me a while to set them apart in my mind.
Once that clicked and their intentions masked or otherwise became clear I fell deeper.
I’ve nor read Michelle before. The cover grabbed my attention first and foremost, and the blurb made me want to read it.
I’m so glad that I did! I desperately want to give it five stars but the fact that I was lost in the characters for so long took that away but it’s an incredible read definetly worth of 4.5 stars!
