As a kid, she crushed my dreams to dust. She tore both of our families apart with one confession, ending any chance of happiness for either of us and setting off a ripple effect of chaos. Now she’s back as the new girl in school, and she doesn’t suspect the war that’s coming. She doesn’t realize the anger I’ve been harboring.I’ve been waiting for the perfect time to ruin her life, and it’s finally … her life, and it’s finally here.
Because even traitors sleep—and I’m going to make sure she only dreams of me.
Then I’m going to destroy her.
This is a dark high school bully romance with mature content and themes. It contains dubious situations that some readers may find offensive. If you’re looking for a white knight hero, this book is not for you.

Margo Wolfe is a child in the foster care system when she is brought back to her hometown and placed under the care of Robert and Lenora Jenkins. Not everyone is happy that Margo is back and she soon begins to get disturbing text messages and her former best friend Caleb Asher absolutely hates her.
Caleb Asher has hated Margo for years since she ruined his life all those years ago and he has been planning his revenge on her since then. Now he has his chance and she is going to regret the events from all those years ago that set everything in motion.
OMG – what did I read???
This book only begins to touch the surface of the events of so many years ago and I can’t wait for the next book to put everything into order so I know what exactly happened in the past to make Caleb so hell bent on revenge!
I thought Margo was a great character but it was also obvious that she doesn’t remember everything that went down years ago and what happened to make Caleb hate her so much. I really liked her relationship with Robert and Lenora and how wonderful they were with her.
My heart broke for what Margo was subjected to at school and I was glad that she was able to find a friend in Riley Appleton. Other than Riley I was really trying to figure out who all hated Margo and why. I wasn’t sure if it was strictly because of Caleb or there was more to it.
Caleb was a guy that you hate right from the beginning and then you totally get confused with him and then at the end I hated him again. I was so confused on why he was so jealous when other guys talked to Margo and I didn’t know if was all part of his bigger plan or if he was truly jealous. Caleb had such a following and a small part of me loved that he played lacrosse as both of my kids do but other than that I was shocked at how he treated Margo.
The text messages were definitely a mystery and I still have a guess on who is behind it but I will have to wait until the next book to find out if I am right.
There is so much missing that we need to find out and I have a few guesses on what could have happened and what made Caleb so mad and I know that the next book will fill in all the blanks. I have a feeling the author is going to try and flip all my emotions around so I sympathize with certain characters that I despise as of now.
Towards the end I was so happy for Margo that she began to find some happiness again but then the jaw dropping moment at the end just left me absolutely flabbergasted and in shock!! Then when Margo gets the message from Claire my jaw once again hit the ground!!
I desperately need the next book in the series!!

5 STARS
This book kept me on the edge of my seat! I was so captivated with the story and I’m left wanting more, as well as needing to know the rest of Margo and Caleb’s story and what secrets may unfold.
This is the first book in the Fallen Royals series and I’m eagerly anticipating the release of the next instalment. Wicked Dreams by S. Massery is an EPIC read and will join the ranks of the BIBLIO-ARISTOCRACY!!!
Incredible bully HS romance. It had angst, mystery and steam. I twist for this one as we get the male POV.
Emotionally this book had me all over the place. I hated Caleb one moment and flipped the page and his smart and dirty mouth had me swooning. Margo I wanted to scream at to run as if I was watching a horror movie. My heart was pounding for her. But Margo seemed to be a lot like me….can’t resist Caleb’s dirty mouth.
Wicked Dreams is a decidedly different type of book from S. Massery. She, however, NAILED it!!!!!! This book is everything, I mean everything, you love and hate about high school.
Caleb and his friends (Theo, Liam, and Eli) rule Emery-Rose Elite School. They are the Kings of the Lacrosse team, and the students and faculty think they can do no wrong.
Margo is essentially the new girl to school. She may have attended elementary with some of these kids (a.k.a. Caleb), but 8 years in the foster care system have taken her many other places. With only 11 months left until she ages out of the system, Margo hopes to fly under the radar for her senior year. Caleb has other plans though.
Caleb and Margo have “a past”!!!! Her mom was his family’s chef when she was little. That was before everything fell apart. In this book we catch glimpses of what happened that makes Caleb treat Margo the way he does.
The way Caleb bullies Margo, and is so possessive of her is in a strange way extremely hot. There is some crazy chemistry there.
This book will hook you from the very beginning. Be prepared for a crazy trip back to high school. Book 2 cannot get here soon enough!!!!!
Phenomenal – Bully Romance at it’s best!
DAMN! This story is phenomenal and it’s only the beginning of a trilogy. It kept me on the edge of my seat utterly enthralled and captivated by the characters and the story. It took me on one intense roller coaster ride of emotions. It made me feel such intense feelings of love and hate that I could have thrown my kindle at the wall many times. And that ending – WTF! I can’t believe that’s where book one stops. Buckle up because this story is a wild ride!
Margo has had some very traumatic events happen in her life that have made her vulnerable. She’s hoping that this new family will bring her some peace until she turns eighteen. Caleb is not too happy with Margo’s return and makes it his mission to destroy her. Their interactions are fierce, powerful and full of love and hate. The push and pull between these two characters is intense and gripping. Each chapter changes the way you feel about them.
This story will shock you and make you seethe with anger and frustration. It will fill your heart full with love and then smash it to pieces. If you don’t like bully romances (with cliffhanger endings) this one is not for you. I loved every second of it! It was phenomenal and the writing is amazing. I can’t wait to see how much more hate I can have with some of these characters in the next book.
“Let’s play a game. First one to fold loses.”
Wow. This is a new to me author and I’m definitely looking forward to reading more from Sara.
When I opened this book and saw the trigger warning, I was so excited. Does anybody else get giddy when they see trigger warnings about the hero? It’s like.. the meaner they are, the more I love them.
“You’ll come when I say. You’ll beg when I say. You’ll give me your phone when I say. Did you forget? This is your punishment, and I own you.”
Caleb is definitely mean. He’s cruel and brutal to Margo. He’s a bully and tormentor. But I love it. He’s definitely hiding something and I’m curious to find out what it is.
That ending has me chewing my nails and pulling my hair! Why, Sara? WHY?! I can’t wait to see what she gives us in Wicked Games but I know I’m going to have a problem waiting patiently.
“I’m afraid of you. When you get that look in your eye. When you do mean things. When you hurt me.”
This is the 1st in a duet from this talented author, and my word, what a mind-blowing read this is!! Margo and Caleb’s story is phenomenal and well written and is dark, intense, raw, gritty and twisted, with added angst, heartbreak, suspense, revenge, abuse and cruelty which all had me on tenterhooks, and that cliffy, I cannot wait for #2.
She lost her life as she was put in the system thanks to her mums substance abuse and her father’s inability to stay out of trouble.
Lots of families but no offers to adopt her. Her latest foster family brings her back full circle.
Back with the children she knew at a school she used to attend.
Everything is different though. So much hatred and it’s all aimed at her..
He is going to make her life hell, after all she deserves it.. right??
This book is like coming home. My best friend the bully trope ready to give me thills and chills.
The games he plays with her all had me hopeful that she would have something up her sleeve, to better him, to beat him at his own game.
There’s more to them and their relationship than meets the eye. They share a past and that’s always lingering in the background.
Caleb isn’t the same boy she left behind, but I personally loved his vindictive and cruel ways. His darkness was delicious!
Margo isn’t the sheep they all call her, she doesn’t follow blindly and blend in, no matter how much she wishes she did on occasions.
She’s not as strong as I hoped she would be, but she’s an interesting character and I found myself drawn to her.
I loved her drip fed memories woven in and around the main story of them, the slow reveals and revelations to make you stop, think and wonder.
I’m just hoping the wait isn’t too long for the next book. I neeeed the full picture 🙂
Solid 4.5 WTF just happened stars.
I’m frustrated, because even though I knew this was going to be a cliffhanger ending, I desperately want the next one!
You know what this is going in – this is a bully romance, hate to love (maybe) and there’s a very clear author disclaimer about Caleb. But still. STILL you start to believe that you’ve got it all wrong, that he might have a heart. Just wait. The end had me spinning for an hour after I finished, I just wanted ANSWERS! Margot is in deep and I’m really not sure what’s coming next for this pair.
Cannot wait for number 2!
So as I sit here writing this review, I must first apologize !! If at any point, it does not make sense, it’s because I am doing this at the end of the day after only about 1-2 hours of sleep!! Why is that you ask, oh because this book literally kept me up all night long ! I couldn’t put it down, I had to know what was going to happen next!! It got to where I wasn’t even tired anymore, because I just couldn’t stop !! This is my first time reading a book like this!! I was in shock this whole book !! I didn’t trust Caleb, then I wanted to trust Caleb, then I was waiting for the other shoe to drop with Caleb ….. let’s just say…. Caleb is not my BFF !! Margo has her own story going on that keeps you captured as well !! And just when you think you know what’s going to happen next ….. BAM….. SMassery basically shouts “plot twist” and you are left there …. groveling at her feet !! Pleeeeeeaase hurry and write the next book !!

Margo knew returning to Emery-Rose Elite School was going to be rough, but nothing could have prepared her for what she endured her first day back. The kids that were once her friends gave her the cold shoulder and treated her as if she were dirt. She knows what happened to her family way back when was the talk of the town, but apparently it is still present on everyone’s minds… especially her once best friend Caleb’s.
The excitement of seeing him is short-lived as he makes it well known he despises her, and plans to make her pay for her past mistakes. Problem is she doesn’t know what she did to make him her enemy in the first place…
Wicked Dreams is a dark, twisted, and mildly suspenseful tale that will have you addicted from the very first page. It’s perfectly penned words will seep into your soul, put an impossible squeeze on your heart, and leave you wondering how much this young lady can possibly endure. Margo’s story will break your heart, this poor girl has went through so much in her young life, and apparently it isn’t quite over for her, Caleb wants revenge and will stop at nothing to get it. I cannot wait to see how this all plays out in the next installment, I am hoping they will find some much deserved happiness. I thoroughly enjoyed every single second of this one, the plot was engaging, the words were rich with emotion and angst, and the characters were perfectly constructed… a phenomenal first read! Highly recommend!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
What mind f*&%ery has befallen us? Wicked Dreams by S. Massery is a book of sheer emotions, drama and revenge. This may be in a high school setting by the games played by the characters are very adult. S. Massery has managed to write a suspenseful story that leaves off on a cliffhanger and will have you wanting to throw your kindle. Writing this review is difficult because of all the crazy things that take place and I don’t want to spoil anything, but let’s just say if you don’t read this book you will be missing out. Book 2 of the Fallen Royals is due out soon and I’m sure it will be just as amazing. 5+ stars for Wicked Dreams by S. Massery
Caleb Asher is the boy that Margo Wolfe has dreamed about since they were separated seven years earlier. Living in the foster system has done little for Margo or her self-esteem but she still tries to hold her head high. Caleb blames Margo for ruining his life and plans on making her pay. Once again, the rich have become evil and life will never be the same for Margo. Caleb has given Margo plenty of Wicked dreams but now the Wicked Games are afoot, and the winner will be the only one left standing.
I couldn’t put this book down. Margo has had her life turned upside down and Caleb use to be her best friend and the one boy she said she loved but after years he has turned into a monster and wants revenge but Margo can’t remember what happened. This book has a lot of steamy moments in it and he is all about control. I ABSOLUTELY can’t wait for the next book in this series to come out.
Unknown: Heard you were back.
I tilt my head and give it a few seconds. Then I type back.
Me: Yes.
Unknown: Watch out
The angst and heartbreak that I’m feeling right now… On the other side, I’m also amazed. That cliff spined the whole story around, it caught me by surprise, and all I’m thinking right now is how heartbreaking, beautiful, raw, and real the story was.
I can not wait for the next book, and I’m also hoping we’ll be getting his friend’s stories as well.
Oh my goodness. This book is insane! S. Massery has outdone herself on this one. Wicked Dreams is the dark, bully romance that I didn’t know I needed in my life. I like dark romances, but bully romances tend to be a little harder for me to get into. I had absolutely no problem devouring this book and loving every second of it. I never knew a bully romance could be so good and so HOT! I need the second book and I need it now! S. Massery about killed me with the ending on this one. I need more!
Holy crap. Caleb Asher is not the hero of the story. He is without a doubt the anti-hero of this story. You can’t help, but hate to love him. He is a rich boy who always gets his way no matter what. There is not a person who tells him what he can and cannot do. He runs Emery-Rose Elite School and everyone in it. It’s slightly terrifying how much control this high school boy has over the teachers and principal at this school. And boy does he thrive when he’s in control. Caleb is such a complex and fascinating character. He openly expresses his hate for Margo Wolfe on the very first day of school and makes her life a living hell. Everyone let’s him and they help him do it. He’s the king of the school and his word is final. His hate for Margo runs deep and strong. Caleb and Margo were best friends when they were kids up until the age of 10, but something happened that turned the tables and made Caleb hate Margo. And let me tell you, that hate runs strong. But this boy still wants her. Holy crap does he still want her. The dynamic between these two was fascinating. It was hot and cold, love and hate, and pure FIRE! Gosh. I could not stop reading about these two. I just need more!
Margo Wolfe is such a realistic and fantastic female lead. She has so much going on in her life and then we add Caleb into the mix. This girl is a fighter though. She is strong and resilient. She’s not going to let other people control her life, well except Caleb because he’s all alpha male and obnoxious at times. Margo doesn’t want to have feelings for Caleb, but she does. She remembers the boy he used to be when they were kids. She forgets that he’s no longer that boy anymore. He’s grown into a wicked and cunning young man. It’s all sorts of wrong, but all sorts of right at the same time. These two gave me whiplash sometimes, but in the best way possible. I could not get enough of them. I had to see where the story would take me next and which side of Caleb we were going to see. The twisted side or the sweet side. Margo never knew what she was going to get, but that’s what made the story so good. You never knew what was going to happen next.
The secondary characters were fantastic! The friendship developed between Riley and Margo was adorable and sweet and I loved everything about it. Riley was Margo’s wingwoman! I’m also really curious about Riley and Eli. I have to know the status of that relationship since it’s very similar to what is going on with Caleb and Margo. A bully who secretly loves the girl he bullies! And then there are Theo and Liam who are a complete mystery, especially Theo. I think he may be even darker than Caleb and I didn’t believe that was possible! There’s Ian who’s a total psycho and the girls (Savannah and Amelie) who both want Caleb and to be the queen of the school. These characters were woven so well into the main storyline and I can’t wait to learn more about them.
Overall, I rate the story a 5/5. It was a totally different genre for me and I couldn’t get enough of it. I wanted to keep reading to find out what was going to happen next between Caleb and Margo. Which side of Caleb were we going to see and what were we going to get? I cannot wait to see where S. Massery takes us next on this twisted and wicked journey!
