Jared Black was cast from his pack, the Grey Wolf pack, years ago for a crime he didn’t commit. Now he’s a criminal known only as Rogue. Mae is the little sister to the Grey Wolf pack master, and also Rogue’s enemy. The war between the shifters and vampires is on the rise and Rogue has already helped Mae escape the vampires once when they captured her for her blood to make a serum. He saves her yet again when the vampires attack at a party at the Grey Wolf pack, and he takes Mae with him to keep her safe. I truly enjoyed this story, it’s filled with adventure, intrigue, secrets, banter, and great chemistry.
I received an advanced copy via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
Book three in Seven Range Shifters, Wicked Cowboy Wolf tells the story of Jared Black cast from the pack for a crime he didn’t commit and Maeve Gray who escaped the pack’s bloodsucking enemies and fights to save her species. Engaging characters and a large dynamic support cast this is a story of betrayal, secrets and possibilities keeping me engrossed throughout.
Maeve is the sister of the Alpha of Grey wolf Pack and finds out that the vampires made a serum with her blood to give to shifters, so they can drink their blood. Rogue is a pack less wolf shifter and he abducts Maeve to protect her. Rogue knows Maeve but she doesn’t know him except as the criminal and toughest rogue out there. He makes a deal with her, if she will help him, he can get a antidote for the serum, and all she needs to do is talk to her brother about letting it be given to the rogues too. When she finds out what he plans to do, can she forgive him for betraying her?
Shifters, vampires, a teacup pig, and plenty of action. A man who thinks he doesn’t deserve the woman and a woman who wants her freedom from pack life.

I love shifter romances but at least four times I wanted to quit and start a different book. First time reading this author who needs a better editor. Redundant – 20 years ago. Um, 20 years ago when they were 10 and 7 or 20 years ago when they were 15 and 12. Over and over, 20 years ago. Could the author just once tell us their age. Maeve/Mae was a nitwit. Mae ‘I’ve never left Montana’ to ‘The times I left Montana could be counted on one hand’. Um, yeah, we know you just traveled to Texas and then to California. What’s up with the big brother? Is he a nice guy or a jerk? The brother – don’t have rogue babies? WTH Mae was just as dumb – I won’t forgive but I will forget. Is she going to get amnesia? I’ve always loved him but doesn’t recognize him. Puh-lease. I liked Rogue with the exception that he was in love with dumb Mae. Mae that has kept a secret for 20 years but then blames her brother for everything. And why of why would she allow Rogue to call her by the nickname her killer dad used. Insert eye roll here.
Every box is checked in this book – Wolf Shifters, Werewolf but the difference isn’t explained. Killer vampires. Scottish wolf shifter that still talks as if he lives in Scotland even though he has lived in the US for 20+ years. Scottish wolf shifter has a love interest (one sentence). Tons of other characters introduced and then nothing. Perhaps so they too can have a book in the series? Example: Sophia – do you know Austin? Yes, Mic Drop. Nothing and Sophia is out of the story. Eight year old that knows his dead’s mom birthday but doesn’t know or tells who dear Dad is? Nor does it appear Dad is looking for his three children.
If you are seeking a hot mess and every paranormal romance box checked, go for it.
