A VERY GOOD BOOK
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review
Wicked Cowboy by Victoria Pinder is love at first sight romance. It’s the fourth book in the Steel series.
Carter Rockson was burdened by his ex’s death so he believed that he didn’t deserve happiness. His best friends had died and he had to
share custody of their daughter with Ridley Steel. The girl, Chelsea didn’t want to leave, she felt at home there. Ridley went to Texas
to take Chelsea back to Pittsburg but she ended up with a marriage proposal. Since she had no life outside of her job and she cared
deeply about Chelsea she quickly accepted. The fact that she had been attracted to Carter since the first moment she met him helped a lot
in her decision. Even though this marriage was supposed to be a business deal they had developed feelings for each other and that scared
Carter. He almost ruined the best thing it had ever happened to him.
It’s a really cute romantic story. It’s a combination of love at first sight and a second chance (kind of) romance. The plot is simple,
with a lot of emotion and sexy. I liked how easy the transition of their lives was without any drama. The characters had a great
connection, not only Carter and Ridley but also his father and Chelsea, they acted as a family quickly. Once again this series shows
the importance of helping those who we love and care about. I fell in love with this book from the beginning.
I think that Wicked Cowboy is my favorite book from this series. I highly recommend you to read this and I will rate it with 4,5 stars.
This is a wonderful and entertaining story that takes you on a journey of numerous emotions.
There’s plenty of steam as the story goes on.
I loved the story!!
I received a complementary copy of this book and chose to write a review.
I received this as an ARC and voluntarily give my review. Wicked Cowboy is an easy reading romance involving two people who are named guardians of their best friend’s child. Not wanting to separate the child any further, they decide to join together and raise her. This story shows how two people are willing to sacrifice their own lives for their Godchild while also helping each other deal with their own personal baggage
Named as joint parents, they get a second chance. They’ve had some bumps and bruises along the way, and are both a little set in their ways. The child is what’s most important and they are mature enough to realize that but they are overwhelmed by their attraction to one another. Entertaining and emotional second chance romance, great characters. I received a copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Wicked Cowboy – a review by Rosemary Kenny
*slight spoilers*
What links an overworked Pittsburgh ER nurse and a billionaire rancher -rather than an actual cowboy, nor seemingly at all wicked – who’s suffering from PTSD and overwhelming survivor’s guilt, after tragedy struck during a desert-located SEAL mission?
The answer is the young daughter of their best friends, who were tragically killed in a motoring accident, leaving her in the joint custody of the MCs.
She’s been living at the ranch with our hero and his semi-invalid father in Brown Bluff, Texas, since her Mom’s demise and wants to stay there.
When her aunt arrives to take the child to Pittsburgh, there could be fireworks – but instead the only sparks are between the two MCs, whose previous meeting a decade earlier was as best man and maid of honour at their friends’ wedding.
How will the couple resolve their issues to everyone’s satisfaction?
You’ll have to get your copy of Wicked Cowboy, by the brilliantly creative Victoria Pinder to find out what happens next… it’s a steamy, unpredictable story of second chance romance that will completely whisk you away on a magical breeze, away from your Covid-19 fears and Lockdown Blues, as your heart is warmed by the way love conquers all – even emotionally troubled ‘wicked cowboys’!
This is a sweet romantic story. It has drama, romance and great characters. Tragedy brings Carter and Ridley together to help their friends young daughter. They must find if they can make a life together and raise Chelsea. This is well written and interesting. I enjoyed reading and recommend.
Carter and Ridley met for the first time at their respective best friends’ wedding. Ten years later their best friends died in a car accident and Ridley and Carter are named guardians of their young daughter, Chelsea.
Wicked Cowboy was enjoyable and easy to read. There were some adult words and situations but overall fairly tame reading. This book is a sweet romance and is book 4 in the Steel series but can be read as a stand-alone. If you want to get lost in a feel-good contemporary romance, Wicked Cowboy is the book for you.
Ridley and Carter wound up getting joint custody of Chelsea when her parents died in a car crash. What do an overworked ER nurse from Pennsylvania and an ex-SEAL Texan billionaire have in common? Only one dance at their best friend’s wedding 10 years ago. Neither thinks they are worthy of love; will they recognize it and accept it when it stares them in the face? With the help of Pop, who has lived through a loveless marriage, and the sorrowful sweet Chelsea, this tale has a happy ending.
Good Entertainment!
This is another novel in the Steel Sisters series. I really enjoy learning about a whole family. I enjoy the connected threads from one story to another; the overall continuity of the series. This story was original, unique and realistic. The characterizations were all clear and easily discernible from one another. The story line was one of tragedy and the main male and main female characters were struggling to contain their personal grief in order to best help the child who was left an orphan. The main female character was a very straight forward person but she did have a poor self-image. The main male character was impacted by past traumatic experiences and as a result was very hard on himself. This was a unification of family coming together under traumatic life circumstances. I must admit that I had a crying `good time` during some parts of this novel. The “feels“ definitely abound in this novel.
I voluntarily received an advance review copy of this novel from the author and I am leaving an honest and unbiased review. I have no affiliation to this author.
Allow most of a day for this NC17 tale of how Ridley Steel, an ER nurse from Pittsburgh, and Carter Rockson, former Navy Seal and now a rancher in Brown Bluff, TX become the guardians of Chelsea Moore, the daughter of their best friends Chloe and Bernie. I had an ARC and this voluntary review is my own opinion.
When her friend and her husband are killed in a car accident, Ridley, a nurse, flies to Texas to pick up her daughter and take her back East. One problem, Carter, the billionaire rancher, is also named as co-guardian with her and wants the girl to stay. The girl also wants to stay. This is a problem… They met years ago at the friends wedding and neither has forgotten the other. And, of course, no one communicates their feelings so they are flying blind. Ridley needs to take stock of her life, or lack thereof, to stay or go. Nicely written and an enjoyable read.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book
I loved this book and once again Victoria Pinder struck gold with this book. Her storytelling and character built up was suberb.
This is a well written book with strong characters in Ridley and Carter who meet when their friends die in an accident and are left to raise little Chelsea. As the two struggle with self doubts feelings grow stronger for each other. The author takes you on an emotional roller coaster ride reading this story. I highly recommend this book and word of warning .. have the tissues ready.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
Ridley and Carter are both strong characters and when their friends are killed in a tragic accident and they are left joint custody of their friends daughter they have to find a way to make it work. They both have to acknowledge their hidden feelings before they can get their HEA.
Ridley is the latest Steel sister to fall in love. But, that is not what she sets out to do when she flies to Texas to pick up her new charge after her parents were killed in a car crash. Carter lost his best friend in that car wreck that took the parents of the little girl now staying with his dad and him. It will take fast thinking and even faster talking to figure out a way to make a home for Chelsea without destroying her world anymore. This is one of those books you cannot put down. It has all the emotions going for it; ranging from grief all the way to exhilaration. Keep the tissues handy. I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book.
Ridley is a strong woman and caregiver. Carter is a strong man and protector. Both of them are full of self-doubt which is where I feel the story centers: on each establishing their own self-worth. But Chelsea is the darling of this story. Contains an explicit scene.
I received a copy of this book as a gift. This is my honest review.
Ridley and Carter are true soul mates who take ten years to realize it. They met when they were in their best friends wedding. They each made a lasting impression on each other without the other realizing it. The tragic death of their friends brings them back together as they’re named as co-guardians of their daughter. An emotional roller coaster as Carter deals with a lot of survivor guilt and PTSD from his time in service. Ridley has a beautiful heart and is also gorgeous. She helps Carter heal and not let his past ruin his future. The story is sweet and Chloe, the friends daughter is wise beyond her years and the glue that brings and keeps them together. Some twists and a few surprises make for a heartwarming story with a HEA. A good read with likable characters and an engaging story line. The chemistry between Ridley and Carter is explosive. I read an arc and voluntarily chose to review.
