In the newest Night Rebel novel, set in New York Times bestselling author Jeaniene Frost’s Night Huntress world, beautiful, daring vampire Veritas risks all to protect Ian… to break every rule by secretly hunting down the dark souls that were freed in order to save Ian. But the risks are high. For if she gets caught, she could lose her job. And catching the sinister creatures might cost Veritas her own life.
Some vows are forever…
Ian’s memories might be fragmented, but this master vampire isn’t about to be left behind by the woman who entranced him, bound herself to him, and then disappeared. So what if demons, other Law Guardians, and dangerous, otherworldly forces stand against them? Come hell or high water, Ian intends to remind Veritas of the burning passion between them, because she is the only person seared on his mind—and his soul…

Fun, over the top, action filled, rollicking, a tad absurd tale requiring team work to try to conquer the baddies. I listened to the story, and found the reader’s voice really grating at the beginning, but came to realise as the storyline progressed – it was a good choice after all. Happy to have discovered this lighthearted, entertaining author.
Another fabulous read by the amazing Jeaniene frost!!! I love her vampires! And Ian has been a fan favorite of mine from the beginning!! You can’t help love this snarky, charming and sexy vamp with a piercing on his junk!!! And veritas the bad ass law guardian is just the women to keep this bad boy in line and together their one hell of a couple. In this new series spin off jeaniene is introducing all kinds of new and interesting characters like Ashael a handsome demon with black wings who is feared even by other demons and who has a secret connection to veritas. Also the old and secretive Yonah who was once a powerful demon Prince who hides away on a island were all kinds of creatures live. One of the coolest creatures is the Leviathan a water creature who guards the shore of the island to touch one is to drown forever! In wicked bite veritas has left Ian behind to protect him from the evil dagon a demon who had a score to settle with Ian and as long as dagon lives he is danger, so veritas goes on the hunt to find and kill him.But Ian refuses to stay behind and if that means going before the vampire council and getting shit stirred up He will. He doesn’t remember much, but he knows that what him and veritas was real and he’ll be damned if anybody will keep him away from her!! Awesome storytelling and characters with great chemistry and full of passionate steamy vampire sex!!! It doesn’t get any better then that!!! Next up book 3 Wicked All Night Coming in early 2021 ! Jeaniene Frost is one of my very favorite vampire writers of all time and anytime I get to sit down with one of her books I know I’m in for a hell of a ride!
Until next time Luv’s
I have been provided with a review copy of Wicked Bite through Edelweiss for an impartial review. This is the second book in the Night Rebel series and I just absolutely loved getting to reenter this world with these great characters. I just can’t get enough of Veritas and Ian. They have just dragged me into their world and I just didn’t want this story to end. It was just so easy to get lost in and I hope there are many more stories to come in this series.
Veritas has a few secrets up her sleeve!
After dumping Ian off on Bones and Cat Veritas is on a mission to collect the escaped and finally rid the world of one pesky demon
Girls gotta get her vengeance
Ian … Sigh what can I say I love his snark, his unstoppable need to irritate every being that comes within 50 ft of him
Things aren’t quite right and Ian knows it. Since his newly acquired bride won’t respond to his texts he will just have to get her attention the hard way
I think I enjoyed this episode more than the first!
Chocked full of “oh he ‘ll no you did not” scenes
Followed up by lots of “way to go you got this” moments
All neatly wrapped up in one massive mess of backstabbing, new allegiance making, evil burning, heart-stopping twists, turns, and steamy romance
The chemistry between these two is cataclysmic. I have always enjoyed Ian – honestly the whole cast but the way these two play off each other- One always attempting to protect the other – it makes for lots of hilarity, heartache, and happiness
We are introduced to some kick-arse new character as well as spend time with our long favorites.
Secrets that should probably have stayed hidden have become unearthed making an already complicated nearly impossible fight for survival almost look like child’s play
I am already impatiently awaiting the next in this series
Very enjoyable read.
Wow. Wow. Wow. This was hot.
All jokes aside, I seriously can’t remember the last time I read a decent vampire (or supernaturalish) novel, so kudos to the author for doing such a great job bringing these characters to life. The storyline that was engaging and engrossed me enough in the read nearly left me speechless, the dynamic relationship between Veritas and Ian was superb and their connection was swoonworthy. Just knowing that she meant something even after all his memories were erased showcased that and was further proven by their intimate scenes (prince albert, anyone?). So don’t miss out on this great supernatural paranormal novel filled with action, actual plot and storyline (bless), hot vampires, and oh so steamy chemistry. But… yes there is a but! Please note that this obviously isn’t a standalone, so definitely check out book one of the series to catch up on Veritas and Ian journey in defeating Dagon and rekindling a nearly diminish relationship.
I feel like I’ve been waiting forever for this story and I think Wicked Bite was worth waiting for. Ian has to figure out how to fix what happened in book one and regain memories, but things really start rolling once he locates his wife, Veritas and she finally, begrudgingly, gives him the time of day. Somewhat. There’s a thread of humor through the entire book, along with snarky sarcasm, serious business, sexy hubba-bubba, and appearances from old favorites, but what made the story work for me, was Veritas.
Veritas really came in to her own here and I loved seeing her grow leaps and bounds from the ice queen persona she carried around. I mean, considering everything she did to help Cat and Bones way back when, and then Ian?! I just knew there was more to her than meets the eye-and boy howdy! It was waaay more than I was prepared for! And I loved every minute. I’d feel sorry for Ian, except they’re perfect for one another and definitely playing on an interesting field:)
Overall, great read and I am looking forward to the next book!
Book 2 of Ian and Veritas story has arrived and I absolutely devoured every single page! With Vlad being one of my favorite OF favorite vampires, Ian is quickly making his way to the top.
With the way book 1 one ended, I was just dieing to get my hands on Wicked Bite. I needed to know what was going to happen. And I was rather satisfied of sorts that we didn’t have to wait too long for these two to reunite.
But from then on, it was still a battle between them and Veritas was fighting to hard to do what she could to protect Ian without giving anything away. But I don’t think she was banking on how persistent Ian would to get what belonged to him.
There’s definitely so much more character development especially with Veritas coming around to accepting what she truly is. And Ian’s utmost support towards definitely helped her grow into herself and not suppress who she is.
I will say that there’s a lot of new information that’s surrounding Ian and Veritas, at times it felt like it was information overload. But I know it was all there for a reason, which I’m sure we’ll get plenty of in the next book.
If you were on the fence about Ian, be prepared for him to win you over completely in this one. A happily married master vampire, there’s no way you can get in between him and his lady 😉

Jeaniene Frost
This series is a spin-off of Jeaniene Frost’s Night huntress series. Which was not a bad series. I just couldn’t seem to get into it at the time. In time I will try again. This book was ok. I don’t have anything bad to say about the series but maybe I would have been more into it if I had read the first book in the series before I read this one. I will try reading the first one and come back to edit this review if my view of it changes. People that have read her other series will definitely like this series. Happy reading everyone!
Audiobook review: Ian and Veritas are reunited and it’s not all roses. Dagon and his treachery are back too. Mankaris, Bones, & Cat make an appearance. Some of Veritas’s history and surprise make for an interesting side story. The narrator did a good job but there was one brief area where character voices were flipped; otherwise it was great!
I love all of Jeanine Frost books, but I was waiting for this Ian to find his love. It was so good I’ve started back reading some of the Night Huntress books again! Also I already pre-ordered the third book in the Night Rebel series. Once you start reading you can’t put the book.
Jeanine Frost is one of my favorite pnr authors. Her characters are memorable with fascinating back stories. Both of the main characters are well known from previous books in the Night Huntress series. Veritas is a Law Guardian and Ian started out as a villain that has since been revealed to be a hero. Frost fans have waited a long time for Ian’s story, and so far it doesn’t disappoint. I highly recommend the audiobooks read by Tavia Gilbert. She brings Frost’s characters to vivid life, giving 4 different Englishmen recognizable personalities. I didn’t fall in love with Bones in the first Night Huntress book until Tavia purred, “Hallo, Kitten.” She gave him a gravitas all his own. Cat and Bones make cameo appearances in this book.
Another wicked great read from MS Frost!!
But I might recommended waiting to read it until the next one comes out.
I went back to re-read / re-listen to this series because I saw that our infamous pain in the behind, Ian was finally getting his books. I loved going back into the Night Huntress Universe. These books are laugh out loud funny, heart wrenching, steamy, bloody, crazy well written, novels. Each one brings you deeper into the Night Huntress world and if I could live there, I’d bounce out and into this world SO FREAKING FAST!!!!!!!
Now a good book is a good book, but when you add in a next level narrator with the amazing writing and storytelling that is Jeaniene Frost – bro- that’s when magic happens. And this is what the Night Huntress universe is with narrator Tavia Gilbert. NEXT LEVEL MAGIC. I will forever LISTEN to these audiobooks because Tavia has completely raised the bar on audiobooks for me. Each characters voice ( Bones, I’m listening to you, handsome) is utterly FANTASTIC. I’m obsessed. Obviously, you can tell from all the CAPS that keep popping up here. From Cat and Bones, Mencheres and Kiera, Vlad and Leila, Spade and Denise, to each supporting character and every villain – I’m here for it. HERE. FOR. IT. I want Tavia to narrate my LIFE after listening and re-listening to these books. Anyway – there’s not a bad book in this series, which is rare, and what’s even better – I can listen to them YEARS later and still laugh out loud at these characters. They’re amazing. Jeaniene is amazing. Tavia is amazing. It’s AMAZING.
If you’re an audiobook listener – check these out because they’re top notch. So So Good. I’m so excited to get back into this world with Ian’s story. GIMME!!!!!
This story ended way too fast, yet it was just right. It solved a problem that has been plaguing Ian for quite some time, and it showed me that Veritas is much, much more than the valiant Law Guardian from past books in the series. In fact, the secrets that Veritas holds are just as exciting and amazing as the plot itself.
I read this book via the audio version, so it took about 8 hours and 54 minutes, but for readers of paperback/print, this 384 page dynamo should take much less time than that. All I know is, I read/listened to it in one day. Yes, that is a long time to walk around with headphones, but just like the print books, I couldn’t stop. Every chapter left me with “More, more!” and “Now what?” or my favorite, “You’ve got to be kidding me!” – that said when a chapter ended with a shocking or surprising cliff hanger that totally caught me off guard. This book was AWESOME!!
Since I read this via audio, I’d like to take a moment to commend the publisher or author; I’m not sure who decides these things, but whoever it is, on their choice for narrator, Tavia Gilbert. The choice is genius. I’ve listened to a few other narrators now, enough to be able to say that Ms. Gilbert is a high classed narrator. She portrays each character with clear and distinct voices and personalities. Let me tell you, that cannot be not easy because there are so many characters in the world Ms. Frost has built, from Vlad, to Crispin, to Ian, and Mencheres as well as the hero and heroine of Wicked Bite, Ian and Veritas. Frankly, I’m stunned at the variety. The narrator’s vocal range is impressive and brings the audio version to life much better than anything I’ve read in my own head. I enjoyed the book but listening to it is like going to see a play blindfolded.
The only thing I’m not a fan of, in any fiction genre, is the playing fast and loose with the ideas of demons and souls. In this book, even though it’s totally fictionalized for the story, and I understand that, I have a different opinion that does not allow me to take the subjects lightly. With all that being said, I’m still giving this book a high rating because the writing, plot, flow and pace of the story, the dialogue, the relationship between the characters and the ability to keep surprising me, are all elements that earn those five stars. I laughed out loud, I gasped … basically this story made me care what happens to the characters. That’s the kind of writing that makes a book stand out – it affects my emotions as I read and I want to keep reading.
The love between Ian and Veritas is finally clarified and I am a happy reader. Theirs is an unconventional romance with the most unusual internal conflicts. Let me narrow that down a bit, Ian is so confident in himself, I don’t think he even experiences internal doubts at all. It’s Veritas that does and once the reason is disclosed, I believe the heroine has enough angst for the both of them.
I could go on and on because there are a lot of shenanigans going on in this novel as well as so many other reasons to encourage other readers to check this book out. Half the fun are the surprise elements woven throughout the story and I in no way want to dilute that for anyone. If you are a fan of this series and you haven’t read this yet, you’re in for a treat. If you are new, this possibly could be read as a standalone because it focuses only on Ian and Veritas’s fight to survive and how they solidify their love amidst the terrible challenges they face. Wicked Bite is well worth every minute reading. It’s an easy recommend.
OMG!! Amazing! <3
Holy rollercoaster cliffhanger ride . Wait till you see what happens!!!! I was going damn, damn, ah dammmmmn ! Then Ooooooh shit !
A stay up and read until dawn Sexy hot, its a thrill ride on every page. Have to read every one of her books,
I absolutely love this world but if you had told me Ian would rival Bones as my favorite I would have laughed…. and yet here we are. I just absolutely adore Ian and I love his chemistry with Veritas. This book took so many twists and turns and it was so hard to put down. Ian is so much more than any of us ever knew and man is he determined. I cannot wait to see where this series goes next!
