I’ve been waiting on Ian’s books for years. Fortunately, I had Vlad & the others to keep me distracted while I waited. . . but Ian has been the one I’ve wanted to see fall & falter & fight. All three of the Ian books have satisfied. Romance, action, and a new aspect of an already-great world. Read it.
(Disclaimer: I read an early copy because JF is & has been my critique partner for 14 years. This means I have read every single book she’s written, so I’m hyper-critical. My expectations for this one were high. She exceeded them.)
Well, the third and final book in Ian and Veritas’ story. This really should be read after the first 2 books or you will be lost. When I first started reading Jeaniene Frost I fell in love with Bones, but now, I don’t know if Ian or Bones is my favorite. It truly is a difficulty choice. First, the characters – Ian and Veritas are so will matched right from the get go. Who else would be able to handle Ian – probably no one ever. They are both as insane as the other, as protective as the other, and as in love with each other. They function as a very unhinged well oiled machine.
The world building is phenomenal. The details are precise. I really enjoyed seeing many of the other characters from the series in this book. It is always a joy to revisit old friends. This was an extremely fast paced thrill ride that not once shows you where you are headed. Thank you for the wonderful characters, story, and crazy world. Looking forward to wherever we go next.
Thank you to Netgalley and Avon books for the ARC.
I was so happy to dive into this series, and now I’m sad that it came to an end. Ian and Veritas are just a great couple, and I enjoyed this wild ride. Not only was this an action-filled book with characters from different pantheons, but there was also humor, sadness, surprises, and so much love between the couple. Speaking of couples, it was great to see the MCs from the other series, and now I want some of the side characters in this one to get their own. This author is a word master, and she will keep you on the edge of your seat until you finish, breathless and spent. Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
I have so enjoyed the night rebel series by Jeaniene frost! Ian has been one of my all time favorites from the beginning and seeing this randy vampire not only brought his knees but fall hopelessly love has been a treat. This is the last book in the series and was wrapped up very nicely. And I loved that besides veritas and Ian that some more of her fabulous characters from the night huntress series showed up like Vlad, and bones and Mencheres and the rest of the gang and even the queen of ghouls Marie!!! Awesome storytelling and many laugh out moments like veritas being hungry and wanting to snack on spade’s wife Denise because she smelled like a Cinnabon flavored arterty! Had me about pissing my pants from laughing so hard. And the sexy and mischievous demon and half brother to veritas Ashael was back as well. When Mr asshole and self lover Phanes a minor god and ex fiance of veritas heals Ian and strikes a deal to take her to her father The Warden of the Gateway to the Netherworld and her father who is supposedly lock away in the Underworld for helping Ian, she has no idea that its a lie and that phanes is double crossing her and Ian so that he can help two powerful gods escape and together they will take over the world. Lots of action, laughs and some really hot steamy sex make this one hell of a read. If you haven’t read any of Jeaniene frost’s books your missing out on some really awesome paranormal romance reads. And her vamps are so to die for Until next time Luv’s
I have been provided with a review copy of Wicked All Night through Edelweiss for an impartial review. This is the third book in the Night Rebel series and I just absolutely loved getting to reenter this world with these great characters. I just can’t believe that this series is over. This book was just an epic conclusion and I just couldn’t contain myself at times with everything that was going on. My emotions were just all over the place with this book and I was surprised time after time with what was going on. I just couldn’t put this story down and I was so sad to turn the last page. I immediately wanted more. I hope the author will revisit these wonderful characters. I can’t wait to see what’s next from this author.
Sexy, snarky, irreverent, fearless and gifted Ian has been one of my favorite characters in this series. In the Night Rebel trilogy Ian finds his happiness in Veritas but like everything else in his long life Ian is going to have to fight for it but he fights to win and has no problems fighting dirty. This installment Picks up where Wicked Bite left off and Ian and Veritas get into even deeper trouble. It’s going to take all their friends to save the world this time. I got lost in this wonderful trilogy and hope to revisit again and again
I really enjoyed this book! I am a huge fan of Jeaniene Frost’s Night Huntress Universe and Ian has been a favorite character since his first appearance. It’s no surprise that I have been having a great time with the Night Rebel series featuring Ian’s character. I decided to start reading this book when I felt like I was starting to fall into a reading slump and it turned out that it was exactly what I needed to get back into the reading groove.
At the start of this story, Ian is in bad shape and Veritas is afraid that he isn’t going to get better. She asks for help from an unlikely source, Phanes. As payment for his help, she agrees to go to his home and this is when the trouble really starts. Ian shows up and he is rather unhappy but doesn’t hesitate to jump in and help out with the plan to rescue Veritas’s father. When they get back home, they realize that the situation is even worse than they had feared and it will take everything they have to save the world.
I found this book to be very exciting. It was fun to catch up with characters that I have grown to love in this universe and watching them flex a little muscle was like the icing on the cake. I loved the way this group of friends were able to work together as a team. There were a few times that I was worried that things would not work out the way that I hoped and I found myself reading just a little longer just to find out what happens next. It has been fun watching the relationship between Ian and Veritas grow over the course of the series. They always seem eager to protect each other but are learning to listen to each other and work as a team instead. Plus, they have fantastic chemistry.
I would highly recommend this book to others. I had a great time stepping back in the Night Huntress Universe for just a while. Ian and Veritas are fantastic lead characters and I am hoping to see more books in the Night Rebel series.
The Night Huntress Universe is one of my favorites and this latest installment delivered. Ian has turned out to be so much more than anyone expected and he really gave Bones a run for his money! And Veritas was such a surprise too! This was fast paced, witty, action packed, and laugh out loud funny. I truly hope we never have to say goodbye to this world.
Usual great offering from Ms. Frost
Jeaniene at her best!
It looks like this is last book in the Night Rebel series with Ian & Veritas but would love another book for them!! It had action, humor, wonderful characters & you’ll be thoroughly entertained!! I would of liked to see an epilogue at the end of the book to see how everyone ended up, it would of made a better ending for the book. Hopefully Ashael, half brother of Veritas, will be getting a book that will pick up where this one ended. This was a great book & amazing series!!
Ian and vertas are awesome together they are hawt and so funny. I loved the storyline it was so good with so many twists i could not put it down even though i knew it was the last book in the series. You got to see characters from other books which i love, it was a fast paced read that doesn’t disappoint.
An enthralling tale. Ian and Veritas face unmountable odds in their quest to protect the world against ancient gods with a grudge. As they maneuver through the intricacies of other world politics, alliances, and centuries old prejudices, those whom they call friends and family come stand with them. But will it be enough?
Absolutely Fantastic! Huge fan of this author and these interconnected characters within each series of books. I was so lucky to win a copy of this on Goodreads! I had been waiting for it to come out and had even waited to read the first two books in Veritas and Ian’s story leading up to the release of this one so I could binge it all together. I’m so glad I did! Awesome edge of your seat story with plenty of cool magical, fantastical action, steamy goodness from Ian and Veritas and a very satisfying end to this storyline. It was so entertaining! Ian and Veritas are so amazing and I really enjoyed how their characters developed throughout and how their relationship developed into an unbreakable bond. Perfect match for each other! We also get plenty of Cat and Bones, Spade and Denise, Mencheres, Vlad and of course Silver. Can’t wait to see what’s next from this world.
Veritas and Ian have finally defeated their worst enemy, Dagon, but the power it took to pierce through to the netherworld has unexpected consequences. Soon, Veritas is forced to rely on the last person she trusts—a golden deity named Phanes, who is her original intended betrothal.
But an escape from the netherworld—an attempt to save her missing biological father—soon pits Veritas and Ian against supernatural beings—ancient deities— seeking to rule over mortals once again. Now, they must rally friends and foes alike—while all in the midst of fighting the wedge between them that threatens to destroy their love. Can they stand together against the unearthly powers about to be unleashed? Pretty sure… yeah.
I must say, all in all, this was a decent conclusion to Ian and Veritas’ story though this novel was not as fulfilling as its counterparts. The built-up to the epic climax I was anticipating fell short. The abrupt ending—WTF was that, seriously?!—was anticlimactic. If the epic battle was a tad bit more drawn out, this will surely fall in par with the other books in the series.
Despite that, I still very much enjoy this. The strong connection, commitment, chemistry, romance, and just about everything else with Van and Veritas’ relationship was impeccable and definitely held this story together. The character development was an added bonus and a pleasant surprise. More so, we get to see old faces: Vlad, Cat, Bones, Spade, Mencheres, Denise, and more but the true standout character for me was Veritas’ half-brother, Ashael. Every scene he appeared in—he brought the wit, the humor, the fun times. I especially loved the scene where he darn neared domesticated Naxos, a Minotaur from Phanes realm. I hope we get to see more of him (possibly a future series?) and the other characters in the great, epic fantasy world Jeannie Frost is known to create. It’s quite obvious she is not done with this series and I know there is more storytelling in store for readers.
