Sequel to Until YouDo you believe in love at first sight? Corey Ellis sure doesn’t. Oh, everyone around him seems to have found their happy ending, but he’s far too busy to worry about such things. He’ll have plenty of time for romance after he survives his last summer before graduation. So what if he can’t get his former professor, Jeremy Olsen, out of his head? It’s nothing more than hero … head? It’s nothing more than hero worship. And that’s the way it should stay.
Except bigender Corey—aka Kori—is interning at Phoenix House for the summer, a LGBTQI youth center. A center that recently hired an interim director until someone can be found to fill the position permanently.
Because life is extraordinarily unfair, the director just so happens to be a certain former professor, now turned current boss.
Desperate to keep things professional as he and Jeremy grow closer, Corey makes a major mistake: he turns to his friends, Paul Auster and Sanford Stewart for help.
But Paul and Sandy have some ideas of their own….
Set in the summer of 2016, Why We Fight is a celebration of queer life and being true to oneself… no matter the cost.

This is the fourth book in the ” At First Sight ” series and I have loved each and every single one. They make me so freaking happy !!!! Now I first fell deeply in love with Corey/Kori when I first met them in “The Art of Breathing”, and I am so glad I finally got to read their story….and what a great story it was
Corey/Kori is bigender and biracial, which unfortunately means that life hasn’t always been the easiest for them. That said…I think they turned out pretty awesome. I love seeing that they weren’t too bitter about what happened in the past.
Apparently, Corey/Kori have been crushing on their former college professor Jeremy Olsen, who turned out to be Robert’s son (Charlie’s man). And guess who is gonna be his temporary boss for his summer job at the LGBTQ center ?? That’s right…Jeremy
How will Corey/Kori ever be able to work under him (pun intended). They are sure that Jeremy doesn’t feel the same, but when they are proven wrong, how will they keep their hands off each other and stay professional.
With Paul and Sandy’s noses all up in their business things are bound to get weird…and crazy funny. I especially loved the parts with “Johnny Depp” in them !!
I absolutely laughed my ass off reading this one, though there were also times when I got a bit choked up. No Wookie Cry Face though…
I could have done with a bit more Ty, since he is still one of my faves, but hey, we can’t always get everything we want.
As all good things go, this series has come to an end and I have a bit of a double feeling about that. I love how they all got their stories and their HEA, but I don’t know if I am ready to say goodbye.
Thank god for re-reads !!!
An ARC was provided in exchange for an honest review
I absolutely adored this one!!!
T.J. Klune is one of my favorite authors. And this series is extremely well written. I have never laughed so hard. Until I had tears in my eyes.
This book is the last one in the series and it’s so hard to let these amazing but hilarious characters go. I strongly recommend reading all the books in this series in order to better understand the dynamics between the characters.
I was very excited about Corey’s/ Kori’s story. They are bigender and biracial. This book didn’t disappoint. We get the same impossible and hilarious situations, the banter between the characters is out of this world! It was amazing to revisit Paul, Sandy, Charlie, Nana. I have a feeling I will re-read this series many times in the future.
This book was a little heavier than the previous ones. But I wouldn’t change a thing.
I loved everything about Corey/Kori. Extremely funny and smart doesn’t even cover it. I don’t want to give too much away, you really should discover this story on your own.
If you already love this author’s writing, don’t miss this one because it was just fabulous, like all his characters. If you haven’t read any books by T.J. Klune then you should really really start right now because you have no idea what you’re missing!
I highly recommend this book!

This is my review of the audiobook:
This was a wonderful way to end the At First Sight series. Corey is smart, funny, witty, and sometimes so awkward it makes me blush! I love all the times Jeremy is just thrown for a loop by the things Corey says and does. Corey fits right in with Paul and Sandy with the hilarity mixed with a vulnerability that tugs at my heart. I’m so glad Jeremy came along, caring so much for the bi-gender, biracial amazing person that is Corey/Kori.
Charlie and Robert, Paul and Vince (and Wheels), Sandy and Darren, Matty and Larry, Nana and Johnny Depp, and now Corey/Kori and Jeremy. Characters I adore and will revisit over and over. I love and recommend this series, and I especially recommend it in audio.
The previous books in this series were performed by a different narrator who is a favorite, so it took a while for me to adjust to the new voices. However, this is also one of the narrators I love to listen to, and he did a wonderful job, as always. Listening to this story, and laughing and crying as I drove down the interstate, was wonderful. I will continue to re-listen and imagine myself as an honorary Auster. I love and recommend this audiobook.
As with every other book in this series this story is an emotional journey. Both with the characters as their story gets told but with your own feelings that get stirred up by the events unfolding on the page. Even knowing how the large background event was going to end it was still a tension filled experience. I love the fact that all our favorite characters are back and the grandma is still a favorite. This family continues to expand and embrace those who need their love. You could tell that no matter what happened with the main characters the family would continue to be there for each other no matter what. I think that Jeremy’s support and understanding for Corey/Kori is what really rocks this story.
I loved this book. I laughed til my sides hurt, I cried a river and it was the perfect ending to the At First Sight Series. I will miss everyone but I am so lucky I can go back and visit anytime. Thank you for giving many a reason to keep fighting.
Five glorious stars more if I could give.
Corey / Kori meets up with Jeremy his new director who was previously his professor..
Reading about kids in need always saddens me immensely but with Corey / Kori on their side everything takes a turn for the better …
Everything with Corey / Kori and Jeremy is a turn on sexually and their chemistry is there and everyone notices. I mean everyone, Sandy !!!!
The family as I call them who are Sandy and Darren + Paul and Vince + Charlie and Robert and now Jeremy ,Oh never forget Nana ,Larry and Matty .
Most times in Corey/Kori’s life this family are evolved and again they all make sure that Corey / Kori has the best of their intentions , in one way or another !
So much wonderful in the book just so much .
Love story! Oh yes it is, and I sure melted …
I laughed so much as I do with this wonderful family .
Its so very sad to leave all these stunning people but for a few years they all have made my life much more through understanding the words Tj Klune writes I have laughed so much where I have laid on the floor gasping for breath .What memories ….
. But it may be sad to say goodbye but what a time I have had and also to have this stunning Corey / Kori and Jeremy part is perfection.
